Hello friends, are you getting ready for bed?
Let’s make sure we’ve brushed our teeth and washed our hands. Oh and don’t forget your comfy things. Now it’s time for the perfect bedtime story.

About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello friends, and welcome to bedtime Stories with mister jim O.
I was just getting ready for bed, are you as well?
Oh good? I hope you brushed your teeth and found
all of your comfy things like pillows and blankets and stuffies.

(00:27):
Oh yes, oh good. Well, as long as you have
all those things ready, then it's time for our story.
But first we must close our eyes so that we
can travel to an imaginary world. Tonight was the night

(00:59):
that Corky the Cat's Cat Cafe opened. Corky was so
excited he had been baking and cooking all day to
prepare his little kitty paws spent the afternoon whisking batters
and whipping cream. Though Corky was a cat, he did

(01:20):
not make only cat foods. Yes, he served fish, but
only cod and catfish. His seafood boils consisted of crab
and clams, but no shrimp. He filled his display cases
with cakes, but only carrot cakes, uh, chocolate cake and

(01:44):
cookie cakes. Yes, Corky had a lot on the menu,
but his specialty was foods that began with a letter. See.
Not only was it his specialty, but it was the
only thing he could make. It was not a preference,
nor something he had chosen. In fact, Corky had tried

(02:07):
to make things that didn't begin with the letter see,
and it always ended up in disaster. His brownies bubbled
and blew up, and his macaroons melted down flat as pancakes.
So Corky stuck to what he did best, and now

(02:28):
he was ready to share all of his letter See
Goodness with the world. The bell above the door jingled
as the first customer hopped inside. Benny the Bunny looked
through the menu and ordered a slice of carrot cake. Please.
Corky served it up with a smile. So far, so good.

(02:54):
Next came Gwinny the penguin, who ordered caviare on crackers.
Then Gilly the Goat trotted in and ordered a cherry cobbler.
Everything was going perfectly. All of the customers were sitting
at the tables enjoying their food. But then Reggie the

(03:16):
Robin flew in. Hullo, do you have any gulosh? Corky
shook his head. Would you like some corn chowder instead? No?
What about gingerbread cookies? Sorry, responded Corky, We only have

(03:40):
things that begin with sea. How about cranberry cookies? Reggie
ruffled his feathers. What kind of cafere's this? You mean
to tell me you have no grapefruit, guaco molei or
grapes either? No, no, and no. Gilly the Goad had

(04:06):
overheard the conversations and wanted to help out Corky. He
pranced up to the counter and offered to cook. I'm
an expert in all things that begin with the letter G.
I could even play guitar. Let me see what I
can do. So Corky passed Gilly in apron and he

(04:29):
got to work. A few moments later, he presented the
bird with a bowl of guacamole and green chips and
slices of grapes. The gulash was simmering on the stove
behind the counter. Now that Gil had the g foods

(04:50):
covered and Corky had the sea, he felt much better.
That was until Kelly Kangaroo bounded in hum h an
apples have a bulk of bloor barrel clumsels. Corky responded,

(05:12):
I'm afraid I can get you some cream cheese, but
no bagels or blueberries. I'm afraid how about some baklav,
asked Kelly. Before Corky could say no. That was on
the tip of his scratchy tongue. Benny the Bunny hopped
behind the counter a batch of bagels coming right up.

(05:36):
He turned to Corky and whispered, Oh, add blueberries to
the cream cheese too. Corky and his friends began working
together to serve the customers. Now Corky's Cat Cafe was
serving food that began with C, G and B, and

(05:56):
things were going even better. All of the ostrich strutted
in and asked for baked cod with green beans please,
and together the friends made it happen. Corky's Cafe was
full of happy customers until Leo the Lion came in.

(06:20):
I want geesy baked egg plant with spaghetti. Sorry, Leo,
how about some cheesy baked chicken with pasta? Leo frowned.
The large bushy mane surrounding his angry face made him
look upset. No, Corky was sad. Corky looked deflated. Gorky

(06:49):
wished he could make food for Leo, but he just
didn't have the right chef for food that began with E.
Just then, the hanging lights of the restaurant began to
rattle down the line, someone began to stomp, stomp, stomp.

(07:09):
A large animal came into view, towering over Leo and
then over Corky and his counter. The elephant lifted its
trunk and said she egg planned coming right up. A
smile broke through Leo's frowning face. Corky perked up in relief,

(07:32):
and the restaurant continued serving up delicious food. As the
opening night came to an end, Corky was grateful that
he surrounded himself with so many helpful friends. Teamwork had
helped make his opening night a success, and he knew
that teamwork would help his restaurant continue to be great.

(07:55):
Krky also put up a help wanted sign for more chefs,
specifically those animals that begin with the rest of the alphabet.
I think there's twenty two letters more to go the end. Well, friends,

(08:17):
as we all get our comfy things and get ready
for bed, you all have very sweet dreams. Good night,
