Hello friends, are you getting ready for bed?
Let’s make sure we’ve brushed our teeth and washed our hands. Oh and don’t forget your comfy things. Now it’s time for the perfect bedtime story.

About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello friends, and welcome to bedtime stories with mister jim O.
I was just getting ready for bed. Are you as well?
Oh good? I hope you brushed your teeth and found
all of your comfy things like pillows and blankets and stuffies.

(00:27):
Oh yes, oh good. Well, as long as you have
all those things ready, then it's time for our story.
But first we must close our eyes so that we
can travel to an imaginary world. Zara lay awake in

(00:56):
her bed, tucked underneath her unicorn comforter, and surrounded by
her mountain of teddy bears, tigers, and giraffes. They stared
at her with looks of concern, as she imagined they
were asking the real why aren't you sleeping? Zara sighed,

(01:20):
that's a good question. I wish I knew. She stared
at the night sky and attempted counting the stars, getting
lost somewhere around two hundred and fifty eight. Instead of
starting over, she sent a quiet plea to the moon,

(01:40):
I wish something would help me sleep. I have a
big day tomorrow. Zara thought the moon looked brighter when
she finished speaking to it. Then a breeze blew in
through her open window. Carrying a soft tune all aboard

(02:01):
the Bedtime Cruise, where you ride along to snooze. When
you lie awake in bed and dreams won't come into
your head, look outside, give them a call. The Bedtime
Cruise brings sleep for all. Zara saw something moving just

(02:26):
outside below her window and sat up a bit to
get a better look. The ground below looked hazy. Trapped
beneath a rippling layer, A ship emerged from a cloud
of fog, riding the ripples up to her bedroom window.

(02:48):
The Koala in a sailor's hat, appeared right in front
of Zara, and she jumped back. Hi, Zara, I heard
you call for the Bedtime crews. Bring your favorite coziest jemmies,
favorite snugglebug and climb aboard. The Koala left no room

(03:11):
to reply as he set a ramp upon her window sill,
leading onto his ship. Sara grabbed her stuffed bumblebee Buzzlbe
and climbed aboard. At the entrance to the ship, several
large jars sat on a ledge. They glowed and swirled hectically,

(03:34):
as if whatever was inside was real and restless. Drop
your worries into the jar, please, we need to make
room for dreams, announced the Koala. Tzara wasn't sure how
one left their worries behind. Thankfully, the Koala passed her

(03:58):
a long gray feather and continued, twirl it beside your
ear and allow your worries to escape. Zara closed her
eyes and ate looping circles next to her ear with
the feather. Thoughts about school tomorrow and homework cleaning her

(04:19):
room immediately came to mind, and then seemed to move
to one side and fall right out of her ear.
Glowing golden threads shook frantically around in a circle with
the swirling feather, and Zara quickly stuck them into the
jar nearest her, slamming the lid down so no more

(04:42):
worries escaped. When she was done, the Koala nodded sleepily
and continued on. Zara padded past beds of all sizes,
perfectly designed for their eupins. Snoozing boys and girls were

(05:08):
in the beds, besides snoring and grumbling moose and coyotes.
The Koala stepped in front of a bed that looked
like it was made of stars. This is yours. Enjoy
your snooze on the bedtime cruise then the Koala climbed

(05:31):
up the ship's crow nest, curling up along the branches
growing from inside of it. Zara climbed into the midnight
blue blankets, tucking Buzzlebee her stuffy beside her. As the
ship began to move, it rocked gently, back and forth,

(05:53):
and back and forth as it floated atop the magical
water now covering the land below. They sailed over the playground,
and Zara watched as mermaids played on the swings and
slides below. They waved up to her, smiling. The water

(06:13):
rose higher, bringing the ship with it. As they floated
over Zara's school, she could see the fish inside, learning
and playing. The cruise ship left town and waves rose
to the mountains, lapping at the snow covered peaks. They
sailed between them, passing slumber yetties snoring in cozy caves.

(06:41):
On a small island, the unicorn came into view. It
nodded to the Koala captain, and a deep colored rainbow,
perfect for the night sky, appeared. The ship shifted course
and began to float along the rainbow as if it
were made of water. Up, up, up, they went to

(07:06):
the top until the cruise was sailing among the night sky.
The world was dark, but Zara was not afraid. The
stars shone like the universe's night lights, just bright enough
to cast a soft glow over the ship. As they

(07:28):
sailed on, Colorful swirls appeared among the stars, creating paths
for the ship to follow. Planets passed by, and the
starta sprinkled over them. It floated down gently on all
the sleeping creatures of every kind, including Zara. The warm

(07:49):
weight of sleep had fallen over her long before the
cruise made its way to the stars, but somehow the
next morning, as she woke, well rested and happy, she
could have sworn she remembered it all. Well, my friends,

(08:09):
I hope you all have very sweet dreams tonight. Good night,
my friends,
