Speaker 1 (00:01):
Let us pray, for the Word of God is living
and active, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing
even to the dividing of soul and spirit of both
joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts
and intentions of the heart. Hebrews, Chapter four, verse twelve.

(00:24):
Dear Father, I thank you for your active engagement in
my life. You have taught me that it's not about rules,
but about letting Christ rule in my heart by faith.
You are not only near to me, you are one
with me. You are not only my helper God, but

(00:44):
you are my very life. You have exchanged my heart
old for new and taken up residence within me. I
have seen the path forward, and there is so much joy.
Your word is active and sharp. You convince me of
your truth, and you counsel me when i'm hurting it.

(01:06):
I'm excited to learn more every day and grow in
your grace. I'm forgiven, I'm free, and I'm new, and
it's all because of you. I love you Father in Jesus' name. Amen,
thank you for praying with me today. Now discover the

(01:28):
profound intricacies of the heartbeat of faith. With doctor Andrew Farley.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Ancient religious texts are a dime a dozen, and undoubtedly
many contain encouragements to live morally. However, there's nothing like
the message of the Bible, this gospel message of God's grace,
This Jesus who changes life.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
It is not a story of man ascending to perfection
or enlightenment. It is not a story of good people
doing good things, nor is it a story to teach
moral behavior. No, it is the story of a loving
God who pursues a broken and far off people. It
is a story of a loving husband that courts his bride.

(02:27):
It is a story of a shepherd who goes after
his lost sheep. The story of God brings hope to
all who feel lost, lonely, and trapped in their sin.
It points to a loving and merciful savior who will
lay down his life to save those he loves. The
Bible is the story of Jesus.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
This book isn't unique because of rules it contains or
history it reviews. This book is special because it reveals
the core problem with humanity and how to find real
hope and transformation through Jesus Christ, the son of God
who's come to save us. Hello and Welcome to the

(03:16):
Heartbeat of Faith podcast. I'm doctor Andrew Farley, and we're
nearing the end of this incredible journey together. We've seen
how each piece of the Bible is interwoven into another,
forming a beautiful tapestry of God's redemptive story. We've highlighted

(03:37):
themes and images to discover the heartbeat of Faith. The
Bible is a beautifully crafted masterpiece showcasing the glory of
God and his purpose and plan for humanity. It's impossible
to honestly interact with the Bible without being challenged somehow.

(03:59):
I hope our time in God's Word has strengthened your
understanding and helped you realize what it means to be
in Christ, one spirit with the Lord and united with
Jesus forever. That's what the Bible's all about, Jesus. From
beginning to end, the Bible points forward or back to

(04:23):
our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. With each episode, we sought to
put Jesus on display and show shadows and images of
the Gospel in every story. From the beginning in the
Garden of Eden, God.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Cast Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden and
put an angel with a fiery sword to keep them
away from the Tree of life forever. But God's story
to love people is not over. He would remain with them,
and the story of redemption would begin to to unfold
before their eyes.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Those shadows and images of the Gospel continued in the
return of the Exile.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
The temple was supposed to be that place where God
would meet with his beloved. Yet there was a hidden
sense that something greater was coming, something that the prophets
Jeremiah and Ezekiel spoke of. Not just a rebuilding of
the Temple of God, not just a rebuilding of the
city's streets, not just a rebuilding of the schools and teachings. No,

(05:34):
there needed to be a rebuilding of the heart. Their
hearts of stone needed to be replaced with hearts of flesh.
This would not come to pass until much later, until
the true presence of God dwelled in the city streets
of Jerusalem. One day, the fullness of God would re
enter the Temple, but it would not be via sacrifices

(05:55):
or incense. It would be through the footsteps of the Messiah.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
The whole Bible shouts a glorious song of praise to God.
Sure ancient religious texts are a dime a dozen, and
undoubtedly many contain encouragements to live morally. However, there's nothing
like the message of the Bible, this gospel message of

(06:21):
God's grace, this Jesus who changes lives. The uniqueness and
amazingness of the Gospel lies in its revelation of once
for all forgiveness in Christ. We're forgiven of all our sins,
past present. Even future sins are totally forgiven already. We

(06:44):
no longer have to strive to earn God's acceptance or
love through religious demands or adherence to the law. Instead,
we are set free to live under the abundant grace
of God, fully accepted and loved no matter what. And
the beauty of it all is that nothing can separate

(07:07):
us from the irrevocable presence of God's Spirit within us.
We have a new identity. We're born of God's Spirit,
and we are forever His children. This gospel message is
truly inspiring. It reveals the depths of God's love and
the completeness of our union with Him. It's a message

(07:31):
that brings freedom, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose.
It's a message that transforms lives and fills our hearts
with hope. The Bible is not just another religious text.
The Gospel it contains is the very power of God
unto salvation for all who believe. It is the message

(07:55):
that changes everything. Maybe sometimes you don't feel the power
of the Gospel in your life and you wonder where
God is. He's still with you in you faithful, don't
forget how the life of Abraham reminds us to cling

(08:16):
to God's promises even when we don't see or feel
there's any hope on the horizon.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Anguish filled Abraham's heart and mind. He took ropes in
his hands and bound them to his son, tears streaming
down his face. He laid Isaac down at the altar. Abraham,
God's chosen hero, stood over his son, the supposed father
of nations, poised to slay his only child, raised the

(08:49):
blade high in the air, with his eyes looking toward
Heaven and faith welling up within his heart that God
would make this right. Somehow, Abraham prepared the descent of
his knife towards Isaac.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
And it's not just Abraham, we pray the lives of
Moses and Joshua inspired you two to trust God, and
through Jesus, to lead in your circle with the purpose
of bearing fruit and displaying God's spirit.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
He remembered the words of God on Mount SINAI take
this staff, and with it you will do my wonders
God had once told him. Moving his gaze towards the sea,
Moses outstretched his arms with the staff in his right hand.
A cold wind blew violently from the east around him,
and the seas began to rush to and fro The

(09:45):
wind howled at night, and the waters danced. As the
seas began to split in half. Moses's hands were lifted
in the air, and all of Israel stood in awe
of the wonders of their Lord.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
And we sincerely hope you saw God's faithfulness, mercy, and
forgiveness through the life of David.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
At that moment, Goliath ran towards David in a fury.
The giant shook the earth below him as he mounted
an attack. David planted his feet firmly into the ground.
He drew a stone from his bag and placed it
in the leather cradle of his sling. All was silent,
and David could only hear the sound of his breathing
David had one chance to hear the giant. If he missed,

(10:33):
there would be no second shot. David wore no helmet,
It would only cast a shadow on his vision, and
his aim must be precise. David wore no breastplate. It
was heavy on his chest and his breathing must be unhindered.
His slings swung in place behind him. As Goliath narrowed
the gap between them. The giant's legs burst with power,

(10:54):
ready to launch towards him. David swung his hips and
released the stone into the air. It released with precision,
whistling through the air towards Goliath.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
A direct hit.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
The stone sank into his forehead and Creptis gone. The
giant's sleep was interrupted as he fell to the floor.
The earth quaked as his massive body hit the dirt.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Above all, we hope these biblical accounts aided your understanding
of and love for the Gospel. Jesus, our Redeemer, has
forgiven us of our sins. He's freed us from the law.
He's given us a new identity as God's children, and
he's placed his resurrection life in us forever.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
And with that, I heard the voice of Jesus saying
to all who are on the earth, come to me.
All you who thirst, behold, I am coming soon. I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last,
the beginning and the end. Thus ends the great story

(12:04):
of God given to mankind. It is not a story
of man ascending to perfection or enlightenment. It is not
a story of good people doing good things, nor is
it a story to teach moral behavior. No, it is
the story of a loving God who pursues a broken

(12:24):
and far off people. It is a story of a
loving husband that courts his bride. It is a story
of a shepherd who goes after his lost sheep. The
story of God brings hope to all who feel lost, lonely,
and trapped in their sin. It points to a loving
and merciful savior who will lay down his life to

(12:47):
save those he loves. The Bible is the story of Jesus.
