Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. I heard somebody
say the other day, be still, not stiff. When you
(00:24):
can quiet your mind and quiet your heart and just rest.
That's not being in a frozen position of anger or pain.
That's being in a relaxed position of peace. Go for
a walk, watch the birds flitting about, Sit down with
(00:48):
a child, play with their hair, talk to them, ask
them about their day. Be still in your heart? Can
you do that? Can you be still and look at
the beauty, the majesty in the heavens, the stars, the skies,
the mountains, the trees, the beauty of rocks and water.
(01:15):
Be still and know that the Almighty is with you,
is in control. Be still, not stiff, not stiff necked,
not stiff in your heart, not unbending or unyielding, but
still in your heart. Hi, Deborah, thank you for calling.
(01:37):
Who are you thinking about tonight?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
My daughter, Sabrina?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
How old is Sabrina?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
She's about thirty six.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
So Sabrina, when you say daughter, we're not talking baby girl.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
We're talking grown up girl.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Grown up girl. She's got her own business, and she
works so hard, she doesn't have she doesn't give herself
time for herself. I just want her to know how
much I love her and how much she means to me,
and that I want her to just breathe, you know,
take a.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Deep breath, slow down, not feel the weight of the
world on her shoulders. Right, And what song do you
want me to play to help her ease into a
peaceful state of mind tonight, Something.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
That would that would inspire her to, you know, take
a break, take a day off, or you know, find
time for herself.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
It's so hard for us to do that, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
It is for us.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
To slow down and breathe deep and enjoy the moment
and not feel like we got a rush, rush, rush, rush,
and do everything.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Right because life is so short. And she has four
children and a wonderful husband, and it's just as hard,
and she tries to please everybody, and she gets, you
know that depressed, but she gets.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
She gets exhausted.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, when we try to have it all and do
too much and take care of four kids and be
a good wife as I'm sure she is, and run
a business and run a household and go to the
kids events and help them with their homework and get
the laundry done right, you just burn out?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, so I want to know that I'm thinking about her.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
I will play a song for her.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Okay, thank you, Delilah. I love you so much. You're
you're a second inspiration to everybody.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Thank you. Hi, you've called Delilah. Who's this?
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Hi, Delilah, this is Brittany.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Brittany, welcome aboard. What can I do for you tonight?
Speaker 6 (03:49):
I just want you to find a song or something
that I can play to dedicate to my husband.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
And what's his name?
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Is Thomas?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
And what do you want to tell? Tell him? What
kind of song are we looking for?
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Well, right now, I'm pregnant and it's just it's been
really hard for me because whenever he goes to work,
I shit at home by myself, and money's tough. So
he's working hard to make it and I really appreciate
everything that he's been doing for me.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
So how far along are you?
Speaker 6 (04:19):
I'm seven months.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Kind of hard to go out and find a job right.
Speaker 7 (04:22):
Now, exactly.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
No one wants to hire a seven month pregnant girl.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
So you're feeling the financial crunch.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yeah, so it's it's just real hard sometimes just to
enjoy the pregnancy. And I know, like it's tough on
him when I talk about it and stuff like that,
so I really appreciate him.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
But you know, you need to enjoy the pregnancy because
it's such a special, blessed time and if you lose
that joy or miss out on feeling the baby kick
and stir and being able to love that child and
bond with it even now and start, you know, dreaming
the dreams. If you miss out on those things because
(05:02):
you're busy fussing or stressing, you'll never get this time back.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Exactly.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
And he was there the very first time it kicked,
and we were really happy about that.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Focus on those good things, on the sweet, sweet love
that brought you together and created this little life, and
know that whatever you're going through financially, God's going to
get you through it, right. I mean, we're all in
this together.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Come on, exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
If it were just you two, then you could say, well,
you know, but it's not just you too, it's everybody,
and it's not just here, it's throughout the world.
Speaker 8 (05:38):
Okay, yeah, exactly, So focus.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
On your love and focus on this growing miracle and
kind of let the rest just slide by the wayside
for now.
Speaker 8 (05:50):
Okay, we will Hi, you've called the Delilah Show.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Who is this?
Speaker 6 (06:05):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (06:05):
This is Kristen.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Hi, Kristen you should should sounds CHIPPERO. What can I
do for you?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Hello, Delilah. You have no idea how long I have
been a listener of your show and absolutely have marveled
at the fact that you have been an amazing listener
for thousands of people out there who thought when really
no hope was available.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
There's always hope, there is And in all honesty, I
have been listening to your show for over ten years,
and through it all I have lost numerous family members
and friends of the family.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Your radio show has been a saving grace for me
and my family.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Well, it sounds like you have had one loss after
another for the last several years.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
You know, I know there's others out there that have
that kind of loss, and I really don't wish that
on anybody, because you know, I understand God is out
there and he has huge, bigger plans for everybody.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
See, that's the thing we have to we have to remember,
is this is not the end all, be all it's not.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
If you think about this being the best that there is,
then you're gonna be so depressed when you lose somebody.
But when you realize this is the worst it's ever
gonna be, because Heaven is going to be so much better,
then you can think, Okay, it's not goodbye, it's I'll
see you later.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Absolutely, And I don't know that enough people know that
that kind of joy and reassurance is out there.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Well, I will pick one of my favorite songs and
we will listen to it together.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Wonderful. Sounds like a plan tonight.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. What can
I do for you tonight?
Speaker 5 (08:13):
This is Sharon.
Speaker 7 (08:14):
Hi, Sharon, I would like to, you know, to dedicate
something and memory of my husband. And I have four
beautiful little children, four girls by him, and I've kind
of having a really hard time, you know, dealing with
with this and going to school and work and.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
How and why are you putting so much on your
shoulders young lady, when you're going through such a horrific
grief process.
Speaker 7 (08:42):
Well, I have to finish. This is my last semester
of college and my husband was very proud of me.
I had dropped out of high school and he helped
me go back and get my GV and he was
very adamant about me going to college. And you know,
I just feel that I owe it to him to
finish and get at my degree, you know, so that
I can support the children.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
And this is your last semester.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
Yes, and I'll finally have my associates degree so I
could be a teacher. I love children, and that's the
only thing that's keeps in my mind, you know, kind
of off the situation.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
What's going to happen when you burn out? Who's gonna
be there to take care of your children? I don't know,
answer no one. So you need to take care of
you so that you can effectively take care of them. Yes,
and if that means saying to your job, I love
these babies and I want to be, you know, a
(09:38):
stable force in their life. But right now I'm grieving
and I'm a single mom, and I can't do all
of this. I can't keep all the balls up in
the air. Give yourself permission to admit that you're human. Okay,
let me find a song for you, and then you
go take a long Calgne bath and just say cal gone,
take me away, Okay, all right, God bless you, honey,
(10:00):
bye bye. I so hope you have enjoyed these radio
moments as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
I'll share more with you each weekday on Hey It's
Delilah dul
