Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast Do. I read
a little saying the other day that really touched my heart.

(00:23):
I read this it said, loyalty isn't shades of gray. Loyalty,
it's black and white. You are either completely loyal to
someone or you are not loyal at all.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
It's true if you're.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Kind of committed to somebody but kind of not and
you cheat in a relationship, or you betray a friend,
or you respect somebody when they're around, but you talk
about them like a dog behind their back, you're not loyal.
You're either loyal or you're not. Some people only pretend

(01:05):
to be loyal when it serves them, when they can
get something out of you or out of a relationship.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
That's not loyal.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Not's somebody using You get away from folks like that.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Hello, Hey, it's Delilah. Who's on the phone with me tonight?

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Hi Delilah, Yes, my name was Patrick.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Hi Patrick.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
You know, I hear a lot of people and it
has some wonderful stories on your show, and I really
like listen to them. I love it dre Sometimes you
get the people they're going like, oh, I'm married for
twenty years, i got three wonderful children, but this guy
from high school got in touch me with that Facebook,
and I'm so confused.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Do you notice that oftentimes there's an edit in the
call when I take those calls, because I don't want
I have to edit out there.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yes, exactly, exactly, because I'm doing the same thing as
I'm listening to it. And my experience is, you know,
thirty years in a military, couple of tours overseas, I
call it fifty shapes of tan. Opportunities have a rose
in me. Don't get me wrong, but my firewall has
always been if someone is willing to cheat with you,

(02:27):
they will cheat on you.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
So, as rude as it may be, I'd like to
dedicate the eagle lying eyes to all those people that
are considering such things.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Well, I have to be honest with you. I cannot
stand in judgment of anybody who makes dumb choices because
there was a time in my life and I made
some really bad choices. Of Course, I'm not going to
make any excuses. I did things that hurt myself and
hurt other people. And I cannot tell you how many

(03:02):
times I would when I was involved in.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
A really stupid situation.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I would play that song on my show and then go,
oh ow, yes, yes, I do have lying eyes.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Until you fix you. We have to fix you first,
you know, the person has to fix himselves before moving on.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, let me play that. Thank you for calling, Patrick,
Thank you for listening.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Oh, thank you, thank you for your show.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Bye bye, sweetie.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Thanks ye.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Jerry. This is Delilah. What can I do for you?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Delilah, I'd like to dedicate any song that you choose
to my wife of sixteen years.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
What's her name? Her name is Donna, And tell me
about your bride.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Well, she's she was my bride sixteen years ago, and
we've had a past five years been pretty rough. She's
had three brain surgeries and an eye surgery and just
really had a rough time. And I just want her
to know how much I appreciate her and love her,
and I'm just so glad that God has allowed her

(04:16):
to be with me for all these years and to
be my wife and the mother of our fourteen year
old daughter.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Sounds like the last five years have not been hazy
ones to get through.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
No, it's been a struggle, but we've stuck together and
we've been there through sick and ten and we've seen
lots of our friends and families as their marriages have
suffered and they've gone their own separate ways, and we're
determined to stick this through to the end.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
So why are you so committed to this woman?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
She's everything to me. She's only woman I ever dated,
the only woman I've ever wanted. She's the most beautiful
woman I know. And she's such a good mother and
a good wife, and it's just a good person.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
That was the right answer, Honey, Let.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Me find a song for your beloved.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Hello, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Hi Melissa?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Hi Melissa? What can I do for you?

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I just want to ask you to me a favor,
if you can play a dedication for me? Please?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Who's on your heart hunting?

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Richard?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Richard boyfriend Richard buddy friend?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Oh no, he's an ex boyfriend that I'm trying to
work things out with. Richard ex boyfriend. Why did Richard?
Who gave who the boot?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Ah?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
He gave me the boot?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
He kicks you to the curb.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, and you're not saying that you never know what
you hadn't so you lost it?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
What what did you do, Melissa to deserve the boot?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Rather not say ooh, that means it's one thing.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, you did not?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
No, no, no, no no. He caught me in a lie.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
You know, I lied to him, and I totally I
regret it.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
You know.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
If he's worth hanging out with and worth kissing his
face and worth spinning forever with, then he needs to
understand that we all make mistakes.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
You are so sweet.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Thank you, Lilah.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
You just have to promise, on your honor you will
never do that again.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Okay, let me see what I can do to help out.
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Have a good night.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Who are you thinking of?

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Allan?

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Well, last February, I'm not a young lady. While working
at a hospital, you know, I hit it off quite well,
actually even became engaged to be married. However, I was
not one hundred percent honest with her about some property
that I held on the job that I'd had in
the past, and as we were getting closer to confirming

(06:52):
her engagement, I wanted to go to her and convey
to her that I hadn't been completely honest, and when
I did, she broke off the engagement, like, you would
not believe.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Just tell me what you lied about. I got to hear.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
This, Well, I lied about a job that I had
had in the military, and about a home that I
had owned. None of that was true.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
So you hadn't been in the military or you just
made it.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I had, but not about the job that I did.
And when I told her these two things, she dropped
me like a hot rock. I think she was more
in love with the image than she was the real person.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Oh I doubt that.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
I mean unless unless the job you were describing you
had was president of the United States. I can't imagine
anybody would be impressed with the image.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
Well that's true too, But you know the message I wanted.
I wanted to convey to her that and she's never
wanted to hear. Is that the feelings that I have
for have not stopped. You know, they're still as strong
as the first time that I met her, And it's
just there's not been the opportunity to bring any closure
to the relationship.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Oh, it sounds to me like there's plenty of closure.
It sounds to me like she.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Did a real good job closing that door in it,
kicking you to the curb.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
She did. But I'm sure there'll be another person over
the horizon, and when the Lord's ready for me to
meet them, he'll burn them along.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Yeah, but you really can't say that because you're still
in the throes of the heartache.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
That's true too, and that you know, and in that sense,
I will probably keep that barrier up for some time
until I have worked my way through the end of
this relationship and I've gotten my feelings fur this young
lady out of my heart.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Okay, you said two things there that are not going
to happen. Number One, there's no reason you should have
barriers because you're the one that created the heartbreak.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
And the exactly that's true.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
And number two, till you get this woman out of
your heart. You're not going to get this woman out
of your heart if you love her.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
That's why I pray every day that the Lord would
release that burden from me.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
No, you won't ever stop loving her, most likely, but
you will learn, you will grow, you will move on,
and hopefully you won't make that mistake again.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Of course, not.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah Do
