Best friends Nicki & Bobbie learn to their horror that their local hangout spot and makeshift music venue, The Millenium Rink, is being demolished by none other than mega music mogul Dante Diamond. Along with their one fan, Liam, they hold a vigil for their soon-to-be lost roller skating rink, but when Nicki starts playing a magic guitar gifted to them by the Rink owner, Ben, she opens a time portal that catapults them back to the 90s.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, time travelers. This has Head the Iron Horn, co
creator of Nicki Fixes Time Mix Up. Next, be kind
and rewind to the nineties for a most epic episode
of Nicki Fix. But first, a quick word from our sponsor,
Iron Horn's Epic Productions and I Heart Radio present Nikki

(00:21):
Fixes Time mix Ready to go on your mark, Nicki.
Nick Just listening for a minute never gets old, doesn't.
The day it does is the day I retired, Nickie.

(00:53):
Why Bobby, where am I um in your room? In
my dressing room? Nope, in your room room, but you
do need to get dressed. What time is it like,
less than an hour to show time? Come on, let's
get up there you go. I must have dozed off

(01:13):
after I got home from school. I was up all
night working on this new song. So what's your stage
out it for tonight? When we just bought, I was
just having this incredible dream catch What was the dream?
I was on stage at the rink, but it was
like bigger top of the sparkly one. So there is

(01:34):
this huge, huge crowd all chanting my name, and Ben
was there too. You need an energy drink or something? Nope,
I'm totally up. I think it's a sign, Bobby, the
dream this new song, it's something big. You got the
backing tracks? Ready? Yeah on my laptop? Okay, air dropping

(02:00):
got him? Seriously, I think this is the one. This
is going to catch an algorithm wave. Show people what
I can really do. So how do I look? Ready
to play and ready to slay like a powerful musical Amazon.
We need a new post. I got you strike a pose?
Give me an goles doing doing okay? Okay, let me

(02:26):
see I'm thinking this one. I love it? Okay? Any
filter adjusting here? Adding the show details come to the
Millennium rank tonight as Nicky Fix commands the stage hashtag hashtag,
hashtag and post is live, my dad, my papa, We're

(03:10):
going to the rink. Hold up, not yet. You're not Nicky,
You're Papa and I have been trying to talk with
you this whole week and you keep rushing off. I
have a lot of things going on. Hi, Bobby, good
to see you, Hi, Mr Fix? It as good in here.
It's a show night, And Bobby, how many people say
they're coming um our post has um? Wow? Loving your luck?

(03:34):
Nikki too? Like later? Does my old dance are great?
So you have time to eat. I thought I gave
this a good one. Okay, I had those since I
was in college. I kept thinking I'd fit back into
them one day. But alas the waist thick, it's to

(03:56):
really go to the thrift store and come back with
your old dad's nation helping dad. We have a lot
to do pre show and time is wasting. We need
more content, picks of the Marquis BTS shots before the show.
We have to graham, we have to tweet, we have
to splort. Everyone's on sports now, did you tell her

(04:17):
I've been trying, Nikki. We have some news and we
want you to hear it from us first. M h.
We want you to know that we understand how hard
change can be and how much effort you put into
your current music phase. My future career as a musician
is not a phase. Can you just, I don't know,

(04:38):
support me. We do support you, sweetie. We got you
all those guitar lessons and sent you to rock Cat. Honey.
What Papa is trying to tell you is, well, the
ring rink is where I get to show the world
all that effort you were just talking about. It's just
good to have other interest to no no, An's this

(04:59):
is the time I need to be giving my music
of my focus. If you don't break when you're young,
you don't break it all. Believe me, I understand where
you're coming from with this music thing. I thought I
was going to do big things too when I was young,
and this isn't forever ago when you two were growing up.
I understand that. It's just there are other places besides

(05:21):
the rank to funnel your time and energy and too.
You don't understand anything about my art and the rank
and what it means to me and what it takes
to succeed Today. I'm trying to do something with my life,
not just waste away in the suburbs like you guys. Well,
that stings. We're not corps as yet. The rink is

(05:42):
my origin story. I wish you'd believe in me. We do.
Come on, let's go so um. That was awkward but
delicious as always Mr Picks, geez, we weren't as bad
as teenagers were we Oh god, don't you remember? We

(06:06):
were much much worse? Nicky, Do my dad's really think
that being our age is the same as it was
thirty years ago? You can't even okay, Boomer them. I

(06:27):
think they're gen x. My dads are still in the
exact same town they grew up in, which is fine.
I guess that's what they want, but it's not what
I want. They're scared of letting you be your own
person exactly. I want to see the world live in
the city. Here, a stadium, old people and like Rio
or Paris chanting my name. I don't know what any

(06:50):
of that's like, and they can't help me get there.
Promise me something, Bobby, Yeah, of course, we are going
to do something great with our lives. Promise. Mm hmmm,

(07:16):
we're here, minium drink? Does it look um deader than
usual dead? Sharon? Any movement on the post yet? Let
me see we got two more legs from your dad's.
These things just take time. Whatever, Let's go set up, Ben,

(07:50):
we're here. How's the crowd looking, Hey, Nikki, cool pants? Hi? Bobby? Hey?
With the usual suspects, regulars, first dates and that old
lady nurse and a ginger ale in the corner. My
offer still stands, Ben. I can help you set up
a website, make a few videos. I've told you a
thousand times. I'm not interested in giving my data away

(08:12):
for free to some billionaire. Creating a little buzz on
the socials would help get more skaters in the rink,
and then they have you on the hook. What's to
stop them from spreading this information? And then everyone stops coming,
and then I'm paying them money to get my own
customers back. No thanks, I don't think that's how that
whoa Ben? Is your new wood carving? Ready? The history

(08:37):
of the roller skates. See, that's what I'm talking about, charm, authenticity.
I'm very proud of it. No one loves the art
of roller skating as much as you, and nowhere else
in the world has a whole wall full of reliefs
like this. Oh, Nikki, your enthusiasm for this old rank
has meant a lot to me. I love it here.
That's really sweet of you to say. I'm sure your

(08:59):
dad's explained every thing, and how grateful I am, but
I thought i'd say it to you. So where are
you going to put this carving? Ben? Probably just take
it with me when I go anyway. I wish I
had a bigger crowd for you, but well, here we are.
So whenever you're ready, you're on first and last and
in the middle, So make it a blow tonight, kiddo.

(09:21):
Thanks Ben, you know what to do. Let's go out
with style. Does Ben seem weird to you tonight more
than usual? Yeah? H incoming Hello superstars high Liam. I
shared your post about the show. Great, look at all

(09:43):
the zero additional people You've got to come out, Funny
Bobby working on your stand up routine. If you really
wanted to help my career, Liam, and you get your
dad to listen to my stuff, just one mentioned from
one of his artists, and I get a bunch of
new follow words. Dante Diamonds, the famous music producer, does

(10:04):
have an insane following. Nikki, you have too much talent
to want to work with my dad. He wouldn't know
what to do with you, but I'd still do anything
for his reach. Well, you're on my radar. I could
be backstage anywhere I wanted, but I came here to
see you play, and I appreciate it. Liam. Even if
I don't get it with your dad, you could do

(10:26):
anything you wanted in the music industry, but would be
under his shadow. That's not me, forget it. It's hard
to explain. Well, at least I have the rink even
when I make it big. I'm gonna play here all
the time with Bobby still talking along, Leam go away.
I'm busy loading in all the presets for tonight. Can

(10:48):
you true? We need to get ready to do a show.
All right. I'll let the artists work, have a great set,
all right. Thank you wonderful skaters out there for coming
to the Millennium Rink on another beautiful Friday night. As
we wrap a disco at dusk, please welcome everyone's favorite

(11:10):
Friday Night live musical guest, Nikki Face. How you buller
skate champions here at the Rick tonight, Nicky Bits, Yeah,
let's hear it for the incredible Bobby Boyd man in

(11:31):
the lights, the soundboard, the computer traps and everything else.
Am Nicky fix. I'm honest with some time wore last

(12:06):
escape everyone? Oh there she is great? Last show tonight, Nikki?
Thanks Ben? Wait did you just say last show? Are
you giving away our Friday night slot? Look? I know
I'm not really bringing in much of a crowd, but

(12:26):
we're working on it, right, Bobby. Yeah, I've been working
on getting the word out and we did get two
lights from strangers tonight. Just give us some more time.
We'll bring in more people next week, I promise. Do
you remember my first rule of the rink? The size
of the crowd doesn't matter. Play your heart out every
time ride. And from where I was standing, it sounded

(12:50):
like that's exactly what you did. Listen. If I had
my way, you'd be doing a gig here every Friday
night till the end of time. But I have some
unfortunate news. There aren't gonna be any more gigs any
more Friday nights. How do I say this? The rank

(13:14):
is closing? What what do you mean? I just got
the final word earlier today the landlord sold the rank.
Tonight was our last night. Hey, Nicky stands. Want to

(13:37):
uncover more epic time travel secrets? Head to ep universe
on Instagram and TikTok for more totally twisty details. More
Nicki fixes up next, But first a quick word from
our sponsor. Hey, time Travelers, welcome back. I want to

(13:57):
uncover more totally twisty time travel secret. It's it's an
e EP universe dot com to learn more. Not a
funny joke, Ben, that's not real right. The rink can't
be closing. Tell us you're joking, no joke. The new

(14:20):
owners take over tomorrow. No, this is all wrong. I
was sure you already hurt, Nikki. I mean your dads
are handling the sale. What oh, that must have been
the news they were trying to tell you at dinner.
This can't be right. The rink is part of my destiny.
My whole world is falling apart right now, NICKI fix

(14:43):
no peanut gallery needed right now. Liam. We're having a
life altering conversation here, all right. I just came to
say that you rock tonight. It was a great last show,
and I'll come to wherever you play next. Nikkia, you
knew about out the rank of being sold? Yeah, because

(15:05):
well my dad is the buyer. I stuck into his
office and saw the plans. I think he's going to
um tear it down. What Liam, your dad is bulldozing
the rink? Is that true? You live with the enemy, Liam?

(15:27):
If I were you, i'd get ahead start. I think
you might be right, Bobby. Yeah, Nicky, where are we
going into? I don't know. This is so unfair. Why

(15:47):
don't you stay and help me clear some stuff out.
We'd regret it if we didn't take this chance to
say goodbye to this place. Sure, we'd demand pay meant
in unlimited stacks. Bobby, come check this out. Oh then,

(16:14):
who's this in this old photo? Oh that's my grandma Betty.
She started this place in the fifties. It wasn't easy
to be a woman business owner them, but she made
it work. My grandpa was a traveling salesman selling soft
served ice cream machines. They settled down. Had my mom
mom had me. I grew up in this place. Oh man,

(16:38):
I'd love to have been here in the nineteen fifties.
It looks like so much fun. That box over there
has a bunch of old photographs from over the years.
Whoa so cool? Look at all this history. This is
just wrong, Ben, to let all this go. Isn't there
anything we can do to save this place? That time

(17:00):
has passed? Unfortunately, I would have had to do something
thirty years ago. You know, I did have the chance
to buy the building back in the nineties, but I
was a lot younger than I didn't have the foresight, Ben,
And what's going to happen to you? I don't know.
I'm getting a little money selling off the inventory, fixtures,
that kind of stuff. I only really know how to

(17:22):
run a rink, and I guess I didn't do right
by her. You're leaving all your sculptures here, no place
to put them. I only have space for about half
my tools, and I'd rather be able to keep making
stuff than just stare at these. That's really melancholy. I
should write a song about it. I wish we could
save him somehow. I wish we could save the whole rink.

(17:45):
How about wishing I could convince myself to buy this
place in the nineties when I had the chance. Here's
something you could take with you. Almost forgot I had it.
Oh cool, It's like a wouldn't electric guitar YEP. Built
it myself out of some of the original floorboards from
the rink, made the pickups myself too. It never really

(18:06):
stays in tune for long, but she's got a mellow sound.
M hm. It does sound nice here that the rink
is settling down to listen to you play. Hey Ben,
is it okay if Bobby and I have a sleep
over here, just so we can say goodbye, to say

(18:29):
thank you to this place. Sure catch, I'll be back
in the morning to pick up the last of my stuff.
Good night, Bring and good night girls. Don't blow up
the place, or at least not what you're still inside.

(19:13):
And there we go. Candles lit. It's now a proper
vigil for the last night of the Millennium Rink. Remember
our first skating lesson here? Remember how long it took
me to learn how to skate backwards? Or when your
mom caught us trying to play spin the bottle with

(19:33):
the O'Connor twins. I always thought this rink was tied
to my feet. Oh, I never realized how old and
creeky those places. Uh, Bobby, did you hear that? That
wasn't the building? That was a door? I heard it.

(19:55):
Do you think it's ghost if you turn all the
lights out? I don't know. Vigils are supposed to have candles.
Why is this pile of junk here? Liam? Yeah? What
are you doing here? Nikki? Bobby? What are you doing here?

(20:19):
Ben said we could stay to say goodbye before this
whole place gets good. Where are you holding? Is that
a sleeping bag? Maybe are you sleeping here? I've been
sleeping here for the past few nights, okay, sneaking into
the old Baseman crawl space. And why are you sleeping
here to get a head start on demolishing the place,

(20:42):
just because because I got in a fight with my
dad again, so I'm teaching him a lesson. Does Ben
know you're staying here? Yeah? He always knows when I
stay here. This place is my sanctuary or was I
guess why did you get in a fight with your

(21:02):
dad about? What do you think about knocking down the rink?
I kind of blew up at him, And now the
foreman's under orders to keep me off the premises, So
as of tomorrow, I'm banned. Banned. That's surprisingly cool. Well,
come grab a seat and join our vigil are making wishes.

(21:23):
Go ahead, make a wish. I wish that my fate
survives this place, that I can still make it and
become a real musician, even without the rink. Sometimes when
I'm staying here, I wish my dad would notice me
for me. Other times I wish I just never been born.

(21:45):
Don't say that we're messing with real cosmic energy here, pal,
All right, well what did you wish for? Bobby? Um,
I'm a believer that wishes have to be kept secret,
so it's just between me and the rink. Ben said,
he almost bought the place in the Indies. If only
he had us back then we could have helped him. Nikki,

(22:07):
what's going on with that guitar? It's sounding better? Right?
I think I almost got it. That's really cool. It's
got lights built into it or something. It's definitely glowing.
Oh that's cool. Well, as long as we're all here,
let's give the rank of proper send off with the

(22:27):
soon to be number one hit from the sensational Nikki Fix,
like a hundred percent less butt kissing. Okay, Leo, all right,
here we go? What two? Three, four? I don't know, Nicky,

(23:11):
what what just happened? I don't know? Yeah, where are
we think? We're in the storage roof. That's still the rack.
My head, it's killing me. We must have overloaded a
circuit or something. What was that noise? Open up? This

(23:33):
is a private area. You can't open up or I'm
