Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, time travelers, This is Heather iron Horn, co creator
of Nicki Fixes Time Mix Up. Next, be kind and
rewind to the nineties for a most epic episode of
Nicki Fix. But first, a quick word from our sponsor,
iron Horn's Epic productions, and I Heart Radio present Nikki
Fixes Time mix What have you done? You destroyed the guitar?

(00:30):
Why you belong here in this arena, on that stage
right now is your time? Summer that was my only
way home. Your home is with me. This is my destiny,
our destiny. Do you realize everything I put into making
this happen, into getting the label, the promoters, the radio stations,

(00:51):
the entire machine that runs this industry to rally behind you,
because it could have been a thousand other girls, but
I made it happen for you. Listen to that crowd chanting.
Your name is not my name, My name is Nikki.
But as Summer, you're more, you're better. That's your potential

(01:12):
out there, your future. However, Ben made that guitar. It
was just like him, a ticket to nowhere. You won't
get away with this, Dante. I just did. Now you
slap a smile on your face, get on stage and
start singing, well, what are you waiting for? You promised

(01:48):
these people a show. You promised them summer rains. Time
to be a big girl and keep your promises. No,
I'm done, Dante. I won't do it. I'm done being Summer.
It's for a girl. Be quiet. You and you, Nikki,
the summer I pulled off a miracle for you. Took
you from being nothing to having thousands of people on

(02:10):
the edge of their seats waiting for you to step
on stage. This isn't just your moment, it's mine. I
could have done this with anyone, and I chose you.
So it's your job to say thank you for the
opportunity and fulfill your end of the bargain. Now let's go.
All rights are right, Get your hands off me. Time

(02:33):
to get out there and sing hey hants off of
her pal l or what else? That if you broke it,
I just had it done. Do you know how much
that cost me? I don't care about your nose job.

(02:54):
You're sniveling, creepy. You're a little man. You know that.
And I let you control me for too long. I
let you make me think I didn't have any other choice.
But I have a choice now. And I choose to
give Nikki a chance. Get out of here. Don't do that,
don't go anywhere. She doesn't know what she's talking about.

(03:14):
Look at him, Nikki, he's terrified, terrified that he's nothing
without your talent. That's why you kept me locked away
for so long so I couldn't leave. You are afraid
that the second I realized I didn't need you, you'd
be worthless. That I'd take your top selling product out
the door with me and you'd be left with nothing. Ridiculous, Nicki.

(03:37):
No one else could have gotten you here. It may
be too late for me now, but I have a
chance to stop it from happening all over again. Run,
don't look back. What about you. I'll be fine as
long as you're fine. I'm you. Now go, Do not
step out that door. Wow, why oh oh jeez, it's

(03:58):
really broken this time. You have to go you know where.
If I never see you again. Thank you for helping
me see the truth. I can never repay you, of
course you can. All you have to do is not
become me. Now, go right, stop get away from me.

(04:32):
So it's starting. We have to bring you back. I'm
not going back here. Whoever you are let me go
hop in your charity. It's a wait, Stan Kevin, what

(05:03):
are you too doing here? We got tickets to your
big show. I mean, we're always open to being on
the list though for future reference. But when we saw
security kicking out Bobby and Lamb, we knew something was wrong.
And they told us that you were trying to get
through to you, which was confusing. What on earth does
that need? Well, it means I'm here with you because

(05:23):
I did get through to me. Cryptic much. Sorry, I
can't explain it any better. Well, they also said something
about finding the other guitar and that you might need
some help. So I said, Dan, we need to be
that girl's nights and shining arm. You really are you
always have been. I love you, guys, Oh my god,

(05:45):
I love you too. Seriously. You came into my life
a year ago I don't know where and gave me
exactly the push I needed. I told him, if that's
not a guardian angel, I don't know what is now
where to Also, there are some car jasons I need
to get to the rink, but also I need them
to not follow me. You got it? Hang on, Okay,

(06:10):
we're gonna lose them down this alley. I can shake
him for a few seconds, enough time for you to
jump out before they catch up. I feel like we're
in speed. Do you know how to get to the
rink from Chalmers Park Road from home? Yeah? I do.
I've been taking that walk since forever. All right, we're
coming up on it. Jump out, go. Thank you both

(06:33):
so much for everything, See you soon, I really hope. So, Ben, Ben,

(07:08):
are you here well? Bobby? I thought you went to
meet Nikki and other nicky at the Styland. We try
to get in, but my dad had a scoons looking
for us. The second we got inside, they stopped us
and threw us out. Has anyone called here? Have you
heard from either of them or from Dan and Kevin?
We saw them outside the show. Dante probably didn't think

(07:30):
to flag them with security. Nope, no called. What are
we going to do? Nikki will make it back here.
I know it. It's all going to be okay, and
if not, well to night. These aren't so bad. We're
going to make the best of it. You know, there's
no YouTube for like another eight years. This is the

(07:51):
worst in Everything about this decade is stupid, nitty right on,
cue Bobby, Liam, I'm so glad you're here, and I
have so so much to apologize for. Ben, No apology needed.

(08:12):
You're young, you make mistakes, you learn, you grow. I've
always meant this ring to be someplace for people to
do exactly that. You have no idea how much I
needed that. But I have bad news. Dante destroyed the guitar.
What smashed it into pieces? No? Does that mean we're

(08:33):
stuck here? Unless you have any other magical time traveling
instruments in your back pocket? Unleft my four dimensional two.
But back at home, what are we going to do?
You're going to let time grab you by the risk,
direct you where to go. Then the guitar you finished it? Well,

(08:57):
what do you think it looks? Her fixed? Exactly the same.
I thought I needed your version of it to make
the match, But then I realized if I made the
first one on instinct, then I'd have to make this
one the same way. But what about the time tone strings?
Take a look? Well, they look like the right strings.
Flip it over and look the middle time tone tag

(09:20):
is here. Use only genuine time tone strings. But how
well you'll never believe it. But are all grown up friends? Summer?
She added that part and wound the strings herself. So
does that mean the whole time? I don't believe it.
Believe it. She saved me at the show too. I

(09:44):
owe her so much. You have a whole lifetime to
pay her back. Now, I think you kids might need
the rink, and I don't want to be here for
whatever craziness is about to go down. Attention all skaters,
we sadly have to call earlier to night. Please pack
up your skates immediately. But as my way of saying sorry,

(10:04):
I'll be handing out cool ponds for a free night
on your way out the doors. Thank you so much, Ben, Seriously, Now,
just don't burn the place down, at least not with
you inside. Before we go. Then, I just want to
say thank you and I'm sorry. And I guess invest

(10:25):
in Apple, do not listen to her. We have no
information about the future, no worries. I'm not much of
the investing type. Good luck kids. Well, Nikki put it on.
Let's get back to where we belong. All right, here
goes nothing? Wait, stop, what is it? Liam? It's time

(10:51):
to go. Dante is bound to come here looking for me.
The wishes, the what oh yeah, Nikki he's right. Remember
the night we first went into the portal, we were
holding the vigil for the rank we had just found
out the landlord was kicking Ben out and I stumbled in,
and you had all kinds of candles lit, and then
we all made wishes. That seems like so long ago

(11:13):
for you, it was for us. It's only been like
a week. I remember, though, I wish that my music
career would still take off even if the rink was closing. Man,
it seemed like the only thing that mattered at the time,
But now it sounds and then it came true, didn't it.

(11:35):
I guess it did. Do you remember what I said?
I wish that I had never been born? And then
guess what? It came true? Sure did. In summer's time
before we brought her back here. Your rise to famous
Summer meant my dad's career skyrocketed, and he was too famous,
too rich, and too self absorbed to have time for kids.

(11:56):
He never got together with my mom and never had me.
You were never born. Your wish came true, and Bobby,
your wish was was Wait, what was your wish? I
I never said it out loud, but go ahead, you
have to tell her. I wished that my best friend

(12:20):
needed me as much as I need her. Oh, Bobby,
I am so sorry. I have been such a jerk
for so long. Of course they need you. We all
saw what happened to me without you. Summer was alone,

(12:44):
full of regret, and I could tell why her fame
was all worthless without her best friend by her side,
and I felt it too. After all the radio interviews,
the shows, the photo shoots, I get back to whatever
hotel we were in and the door would close behind me,

(13:05):
and then I'd be alone. No one to be excited
for me or happy for me. No one to hang
out with, to watch bad TV, to laugh at dumb
inside jokes that are only funny to us, no one
to have fun with. Just Dante waking me up for

(13:26):
the next day, the next interview, the next bus ride,
reminding me that I was only as good as my
last performance, and no one to tell me I was
good for anything else. I don't want this life if
it means being as alone as I've been this past year.
This whole messed up industry can shove it. I want

(13:49):
it to be over. I want to go home. I
wish to go home. It's good to have you back, NIGGI,
the real you. I'm glad I was here to save
you from being a giant, famous superstar. But part of

(14:11):
my wish is me figuring out myself too. I'll always
need my best friend, but I also need to need
you less. To not put the weight of all my
stuff on your shoulders, because that's not fair to you.
I don't know what my thing is going to be,
but it's gonna be something I love, and if it's
not being your drummer, that's okay. I shouldn't be guilting

(14:34):
you into including me just so I don't feel left out.
I never had a problem loving you, Nikki. You're my
best friend, but I need to love myself more too.
I wish to go home. Jeez, feeling pretty third wheel
over here, not even well, I've decided I definitely like

(14:57):
being born five stars, at least on rotten tomatoes. Let's
not be greedy. Well. I don't know how much telling
off a future alternate reality version of my dad will help.
The time travel rules are unclear on that, but it's

(15:19):
certainly made me feel better. I mean, it'd be great
to have someone who was there for me more, who
saw me for me, but that wasn't the hand I
was dealt, and I've spent a lot of time focused
on what I don't have instead of what I do have.
It's time for me to start living my life instead
of just being a walking and talking reaction to him,

(15:41):
because that still means he has all the power. It's
time for me to grow up, and that means I
can still watch as much anime as I want, but
because it's cool and awesome and not just to troll
my dad. I wish to go home. Now, play us off, Nicky.

(16:03):
Let's hurry it up. Nicky. All right, I'm going it's
glowing again. Everyone get ready. I hope you're still there
in the picture raining, but it's not to be okay.
Thank you for all you've done for us. Oh, I
hope this works, Hey, Bubby, If I don't land on
the other side, you will. Um. I really love me.

(16:26):
I like you to know. Here we go, hey, Nicky stands.

(16:47):
Want to uncover more epic time travel secrets. It's an
e ep universe on Instagram and TikTok for more totally
twisty details. More Nicky fixes up next. The first A
quick word from our sponsor. Hey, time travelers, welcome back.

(17:07):
I want to uncover more totally twisty time travel secrets.
Head to e ep universe dot com to learn more.
Oh it worked, We're back her. At least we went somewhere. Wait,

(17:31):
where's Liam? Oh my gosh, I have to go back.
Liam isn't and the portal's gone. Play the guitar again.
I can't look, it's completely disintegrated. Look how out out?
Did I seriously land on a box of nails? Yep? Yes,

(17:56):
I m hmm. Oh you scared me. I thought I
thought I had been reabsorbed into the universe. Yeah, for
a minute, there I did too. So where are we
some sort of construction site? Does that mean it means

(18:18):
we failed again? We're probably standing in the middle of
whatever your dad is building on top of the rink's grave,
the future home of the Temple of Dante Diamond, the
Perfect Genius. Wait do you hear that? Wait? I hear
it too. Remember when we came back to the present
last time, Bobby, we landed in the parking lot next door,

(18:43):
not directly in the rink. Well what are we waiting for?
Let's go h what is all this? A vigil? Protest um.

(19:14):
How many protests have you been to? With the beer tents,
food trucks and a stage. There's the rank. It's still standing,
but the doors are all boarded up. I guess we
still didn't save it. None of this is adding up.
I'm gonna go find out what's happening. Excuse me, sorry,
excuse me, Okay, I lost you. I'm sorry. I need

(19:38):
to get back. My money is paying for this whole thing.
How about you go around me. Don't you know who
I am? The name is Dante. Keep me the girl yup,
that's me, just some girl here to uh celebrate what
are we celebrate eating? Again? Sorry, young lady, It's just

(20:02):
that you look remarkably like someone I used to nicky.
There you are. Then they landed in the construction site
next door, and we didn't know what was happening, and
this all looks different and whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't worry,
chill out, everything's fine, Dante, My man, it's like you've
seen a ghost. This is one of your son's friends.

(20:26):
Yeah right, that must be why you look familiar. What
did you say your name was? Again? Not important? I
promise I'll explain everything. But first I have a little
speech I have to give one that stage over there,
everyone's waiting for me to kick off. Save the rink.
Speaking of saving things, you keeping one eye on the

(20:46):
safe back in your office. Wouldn't want anyone sneaking in
there while you're on stage, right, Leonard, I will I
m Dante go sit down to something. You don't look
too good? All right? Wish me luck? Good luck with
your speech. Ben there you are? Wait Dad, Hey Liam,

(21:13):
perfect timing. You have a minute to talk? Sure, what
took you too so long? We stopped to make out
a little bit? Get it girl? So what is all this?
Is this going to be the new Diamond Center? My
business team said it would be better for pr if

(21:35):
it was, but I decided to put our family name
on it instead. Mkowski, I figured, wait, what really surprised?
It just doesn't sound like you. Well, a long time ago,
when my career was just starting, I had my top
artist bail out on me right before the biggest show
either of us had ever put on. After that, I

(21:57):
had nothing. The whole industry went from kissing my butt
to not answering my calls except for one guy. Can
you guess who been Yep? He picked me back up
when he should have been first in line to rub
my failure in my face. Why are you telling me
this now? Because you're growing up and when I was
your age, I spent too much time focused on getting

(22:19):
ahead and lost sight of who was behind me lifting
me up. I don't want you to make the same
mistake the second things start going well for you. Everyone
wants to be your friend, but the only real friends
you'll ever have are the ones who are there for
you at your lowest. Do you understand I think I do.

(22:43):
I see Ben up on stage. Here comes Lamb. How
did everything go with your dad? I? Uh, weird? Different?
Different good? Or different good? Wait? Is that Ben up there? Ye?
He's about to give a sp Well, I love you

(23:05):
all too. We couldn't figure out exactly what to call
this little event here, whether we should be celebrating the
anniversary of the original Save the Ring show that revitalized
this old place, or whether we should name it after
the new thing we're building here. Well, if you know me,

(23:27):
tradition is important, but even more important is building something
for the next generation to enjoy just as much as
we all folks have enjoyed this place so hold on that.
Even though we're still under construction. Let me welcome you
to the first ever benefits show for the soon to

(23:48):
be completed Brown Mkowski Cultural Center. The first save the
Ring show was almost perfect. We were supposed to have
one brand new act that I adored, but she disappeared
on us. I'll admit I was a bit heartbroken. Yeah, yeah,

(24:09):
I know, I know, play the tiny violin. But since
this little shin dig is all about blending the new
with the old, we're going to do something similar with
some help from one of our original favorite bands. So
let's start with the old. Everyone put your hands together
for the Odeon. Hey, everyone, so excited to be back. Then,

(24:38):
We love you and everything you do and will continue
to do to support this amazing community. And don't forget
we're also a sponsor Odeon Realty number one in a
gridge and joining them on lead vocals and drums, respectively,
my favorite up and coming artists, Nicky Fitz and Bobby Boy.

(25:01):
Wait did you just head on? Jos? I think you
two better get up there. Bobby grab my hand, let's go.
Everyone would give it up. This is their debut here
together and you all get to say you were there, Dad,
It's so good to see you both. Hey Mr and

(25:21):
Mr Fix. Hi Bobby, good to see you. Wait, we're
playing together? Of course this was all your idea. You
feeling okay, honey? Never better? Wait what are we playing?
I've never been on stage before and there are all
these people. Don't worry about it too much, Bobby, it's
in your muscle memory. I don't know, but thank you

(25:43):
just playing. But play what you only made us practice
a thousand times? Nicky, Well you said, because it was
at the rain. There was only one choice. Of course,
Let's go. The crowd is waiting. Thanks everyone for coming out.
Give it up for Bobby Boyd, Daniel Fix and Kevin Park.
I'm Nicki Fix and we are the new Oudion. Now

(26:08):
get ready for everyone's favorite one hit wonder, throwing it
back to the nineties from the ever mysterious Summer Rains.
Get ready to roll with it. Say so whatever one thing,

(26:31):
some just fun song, A cocky every day feels like
as I watched the World Gold find and to mad
so wain O great, there we go. That sounds amazing.

(27:34):
Now a big welcome for another old Bridge institution still
spinning on w NFX. After all these years us, old King,
thank you, Old Bridge. I was pretty rusty out there.
Not that for a couple of old guys, though. And Nikki,

(27:54):
you were fantastic. You really channeled summer Rains up there.
It's like the song was written for you. Thanks Papa,
Thanks Dad. Did we ever tell you we knew summer rains?
We'll tell you the whole story sometimes I love that.
But what did you think about Bobby's big debut? Incredible, unbelievable. Thanks.

(28:18):
That was nerve racking, but I didn't mess up too much.
I hope you were amazing. Bobby. Well, if you'll excuse us,
we have to do the events sponsors schmoozing thing duty calls. Well,
I'm not sure if I'm meant to be a drummer
or not, but it really means a lot that I
got to be up on stage with you. I wouldn't

(28:38):
have it any other way. The spots yours whenever you
want it. Bobby, you chilled it. Holy cow. Oh come on,
p d a much that one from zero to sixty
real quick. Don't be jealous, NIGGI come on, we just
fix the entire timeline. I think it's caused for a

(28:59):
little celebration and okay, okay, I get it. Go to
town New Animals. I actually see someone I need to
talk to. That was incredible, Nikki. Thanks for doing the
show and for actually showing up for your set this time.
Well I owed you one ben or maybe more than one.

(29:19):
Think you might stick around in Old Bridge long enough
to play the opener once constructions all done, you can
bet on it. Sleepy little old bitch is sounding pretty
good about now. Oh, someone dropped up this envelope backstage
while you were playing. What is it? No idea? Open it? Well?
What is it? It's a package of time tone strings

(29:42):
with a note in case you ever need a fix again.
