what's up everybody. It's me Joey p Joe Pizza Pia
and welcome to the Meadowlands, live here on Sports Grid.
Get on the grid. It's time for Rodo Experts in
the morning with me Joey p. So. I hope you're

(00:48):
having a good Sunday morning, and I hope you've got
lots of playoff teams still alive in that championship hunt.
Because we're gonna get you all the fantasy football advice
you could possibly handle. We'll have a little game breakdown
for you. We're gonna have Davis Maddock join us. We're
gonna talk a little fantasy round table with him. And
of course we've got a lot of games to get to,
a lot of players inactive. A lot of players done

(01:09):
for the year, but somebody who never has done no
matter what, is our guy. Because it's not Sunday without
Jim Day, my esteemed co host. So Jim Day, how
are you this morning? Are you ready to continue that
journey to some fantasy championships? Oh, good morning, Joe. Absolutely
looking forward to it. Got six teams left fighting for
that championship. Really looking forward to this weekend. Got some

(01:32):
big games going. I do have two of those leagues
where I'm up against Lamar Jackson now, so we'll see
if I can make up that big deficit. Well, hopefully
you will. I'm rooting for you. That's that's you know.
I'm sure everybody out there is rooting for you. And
in case you're new here, you can always catch us
over on YouTube Live. You can see us UH streaming
over on sports grade dot com as well with a

(01:53):
sports Grade YouTube channel. You could also see us on
Pluto channel five one seven or Zoomo TV channel seven
one nine. So basically we are everywhere. We are omnipresent,
and it's fantasy football season and we got a game
today here right at the meadow Lands. We've got the
Giants at home taking on the Miami Dolphins. Will get
into that one in a little bit, but first let's
get into what is going to be the last game

(02:15):
for the Oakland Raiders in the black Hole, and they
will be with Josh Jacobs. So Jacobs has been dealing
with injury all week. He is going to give it
a go. So the question is do we put him
back in our fantasy lineups? I say yes. I think
this is everybody all in. It's a great matchup against
the Jaguars will basically folded up the tents and gone home. Jim,
are you firing up Josh Jacobs like me and saying, hey,

(02:37):
this is the guy that got you here and for
better work, you gotta have him active. I probably am.
It's definitely a concern, but it depends on who else
you have going, you know, in your lineup as a possibility. Look,
my concern is why trot him out there? It's really
a nothing game for Oakland. They have the longest of
long shots to make the playoffs. You've got this rookie

(02:58):
kid who's been outstanding all year dealing with a fracture
in his shoulder. Why are you rushing him out there?
Washington and did a great job in in his stead
last week. You know, why not just keep Washington going,
get Jacob's out, let him get fully healthy for next year.
This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, and
it it still carries risk because if he takes another
big hit, he could be on the sideline early. So

(03:20):
I'm with you. If I have him more than likely,
I'm starting him. But man, I don't love the decision
by the Raiders. Well, I guess here's the other question too,
would you be starting Washington as a flex in this game?
I understand the reason. I think it's a sentimental one.
I think it's, hey, all hands on deck, let's get
one more victory here, because this is it for us?
Is it in front of this fan base, and it's

(03:40):
kind of a big deal. And I think John Gruden
understands the weight of that moment for that Oakland fan base.
I guess the question is, would you feel good about
starting Washington as a flex? Is there enough volume there
for both of these guys in this game against Jacksonville?
I wouldn't feel good about starting Washington as long as
Jacobs is playing. Look, we went through this a couple
of weeks ago with Cook coming off the industry injury

(04:01):
in Minnesota, and everybody wondering, well, is he gonna play
a full game? Should we start Madison? Madison did nothing
in that game, so everybody who put him in their
starting lineups got screwed. I think that very well could
be the same thing that happens here today, and I
wouldn't take that chance of putting Washington in there too.
All right now, speaking of getting screwed, let's talk a

(04:22):
little bit about Todd Gurley, who who's screwed a lot
of fantasy teams this year. But all of a sudden lately,
Todd Gurley has been dare I say, Todd Gurley of old?
The last couple of weeks, the touches have gone up,
the touchdowns have come back, even the receptions have kind
of showed up a little bit. So are we in
a spot now where we actually, if somehow you made
it to the playoffs with Todd Gurley? Are you feeling

(04:44):
comfortable about what you're seeing in this shift to Todd
Gurley of what we are used to as opposed to
Todd Gurley what we saw the first I don't know,
twelve weeks of the season. There, Jim well, he had
a couple of good weeks early on. He did have
that four game span where he had five touchdowns in
those four games early in the season. But you're right.
I mean, lately we're starting to see him get into

(05:05):
that nineteen twenty Carrie range, which is where he needs
to be. He's always needed to be there to really
put up big numbers, So we're finally starting to see that.
Um Cowboys there are a good defense, but they're hurting,
especially up the middle, So Girly should have a nice
game in this one today. I do like him. I
like the fact that he's gotten in the end zone
in each of the last two games, So I definitely

(05:25):
think that girl is starting to get the amount of
carries he needs to get really flowing, and that's what
we're looking for, all right. Some more running back news.
Derrick Henry with the hamstring was questionable, but he is
going to play, so that's good news there for him.
James Conner also was questionable, but he is going to
play against the Bills. But Juju Smith Schuster is out

(05:45):
yet again. It's basically shaped up to be kind of
a last season for Juju. So in your opinion, are
you comfortable starting Deantha Johnson and James Washington with this
news of Juju being out for the night game. Oh
not at all. Um. I don't really feel comfortable with
either one of them going up against his Bill's secondary
that you know, they were really good. Um, And I

(06:06):
just don't trust his quarterback. I think they're all over
him all the time in this one. I think if
Steelers come out of this would a win once again,
it's gonna be on the backs of their defense shutting
down the Bill's offense. So I yeah, I don't really
have any faith whatsoever in Yante Johnson or James Washington.
Sure one of them could get lucky and catch a
long touchdown pass and save you if you ended up

(06:28):
having to start them, but man, I can't do it
with a lot of trust. I agree, Man, I totally agree.
I just think that that Bill's secondary has been so
good this year you have to respect him at this point.
I think it's gonna be one of those lower scoring,
kind of grinding kind of contests. All right, let's talk
a little bit more about this Giant's game is gonna
be taking place in just a few hours. Right here
at the Mental Lands, You're gonna get Eli Manning again.

(06:49):
No Daniel Jones, and you're gonna get Davante Parker, who
was in concussion protocol all week. He's going to play.
Alan Hearns is going to play. I'm a big fan
this week of Ryan Fitzpatrick. I think this is a
eight matchup for him against a terrible Giants defense. Plus
gen Norris Jenkins has gone. Now that's another guy in
the secondary there down and not that it mattered he
hasn't played well either, but now they're down to the

(07:10):
second third string guys. Jim, this seems like a really
good matchup here for Parker and his friends. And DeVante
Barker just got paid. So are you as excited as
I am about this matchup? Oh? It definitely on paper,
it looks absolutely great. Like you said. And while you
said genera Jenkins hasn't been playing well, he was still
their top ranked quarterback. Uh before all this, before he

(07:31):
got dumb, before he became an idiot again, um for
multiple times, I should say. And you know, it really
does open up that secondary for Fitzpatrick. It really does.
He should be able to pick these guys off at will.
And he's got a full compliment you mentioned Hernes, you
mentioned uh Parker, but they also got Albert Wilson back. Look.

(07:51):
I like Albert Wilson as a receiver. He just can't
stay healthy. But while he's on the field in this matchup,
he could end up being a play as well. So
I think it's all comes down to, you know, Fitzpatrick
should just be sitting back there throwing the ball all
day against his secondary. And I actually like Patrick Blaird
a little bit too. I was listening to your to
you and Mike on the DFS show. You guys seem

(08:12):
to like him too, So I think he's in play
here as a you know, receiving back. Hey, you won't
do full PPR. It's hard not to imagine, Yeah, I
mean it's it's hard not to imagine. Seventy all purpose
yards for him and four catches and that's double digit points.
That's what you're looking for at a Patrick lair. I
think that's all you can hope for a couple other
actives and actors. Real Quick Shark is out, Adam Feeling

(08:34):
is in. Winston is going to start, So that's good
news for the Buccaneers. Uh t Y Hilton was limited
at Friday, but he's gonna give it a go Monday night.
Will Fuller questionable. No offense is going to play, So
that's good news for you tight end need people. So
we're gonna hit a break when we come back. Jim
Day and I are going to break down the biggest
games in fantasy are Week fifteen right here in the NFL.

(08:56):
So stick around. We're just getting started here. It's Royal

welcome back, everybody wrote all Experts in the Morning here

(09:38):
on sports grid dot com. Get on the grid. What
are you doing? Are you on the grid? Good? I'm
glad you're on there. We are live here from the
Vanduel Sports Book at the Metal Lands, talking fantasy football
Week fifteen. It's the playoffs, It's that time of year.
It's Derrick Henry season. And speaking of Derrick Henry, who's
having a fantastic run yet again, once we turned that

(09:58):
calendar from November into December. Here this time of year,
Derrick Henry heats up. And it's the first game I
want to talk about with my co host here, the
Fantasy Taz Jim Day. Let's talk about those Titans hosting
the Houston Texas is a big game with big implications.
So let's talk about it. Because Ryan Tannehill is really
taking the reins here and been absolutely spectacular. He has

(10:19):
done everything you want. He's six and two all right
since taking over, and he's got a one eighteen and
a half quarterback rading. You can't ask for more than that.
So does the success continue today at home against the
Texas for Ryan Tannehill, for Derrick Henry, for the rest
of the Titans, heck even for a j Brown. Jim Day.
Do you see that train kiss keep rolling into the station? Well,

(10:41):
it's gonna be the big talent for both of these teams.
I mean, this is pretty much a game for the
division title right here. Both eight and five both need
this game to you know, get into that top tier. Uh,
it's it's definitely a good sign for Tennessee that their home.
But there are only three point favorites, although the line
over and under his fifty one and a half one

(11:01):
of the highest on the slate this this weekend, so
they're expecting to shoot. At let's face it, neither one
of these teams has very strong defense, so this should
be an aired out type of game on both sides
of the ball. And you're right, Ryan Tannehill has been
playing lights out and you have to wonder what the
heck Adam Gays was doing in Miami. It seems like
as soon as he gets out of Miami, Davonte Parker

(11:25):
becomes his stud, Ryan Tannehill goes to Tennessee and all
of a sudden, Ryan Tannehill is looking like, Wow, where
did this guy come from? Because he's playing so good
right now both you know, passing the ball and running
the ball when he has to be showing mobility things
he just never showed in Miami. And and I love
what I'm seeing at him. I love him a lot
this week I do. I think he going to continue

(11:48):
his high scoring games. It's gonna be an outright fun game.
This is one of the one one of the best
games on the slate this weekend. I agree. Now the
question is which Texas are gonna show up? Are we
gonna get the Texans that get their brains beat in
the one against the Baltimore Ravens? Who are are we
going to get the other version where they show up
and look like absolutely just fantastic fantasy football goodness against

(12:12):
the Patriots of all teams. So which Texans team are
we gonna see this Sunday? Jim Oh, this is gonna
be a bad heart. You know, Like I said, they're
playing for their you know title here division title basically
in this game, so they need to come out of
this with a win. Uh, you know, they're not going
against the strong defense. It looks like Will Fuller is
going to be back, And if you're looking to splits,

(12:34):
you know, Deshaun Watson does so much better when Will
Fullers on the field than when he isn't because it
does give him that other added, you know, deep threat
that he can use. So I think this is a
game where both of these teams are grinding it out.
Could be one of those games where it's the last
team that touches the ball wins the game. Yeah, I
would agree. All right, let's move on to another one here.

(12:56):
Let's move on to the Bears versus the Packers. These
two teams last time met was Week one, Thursday night,
standalone kickoff game of the season, and it was let's
say ugly. Is that the best way to put it there?
Aaron Jones had just four Fantasy points in that one.
It was a very underwhelming contest offensively. But we're now
in Week fifteen, all of a sudden, Drabinsky playing a
little bit better. I don't know if we're ready to

(13:17):
buy into that, but Miller's been relevant, Robinson has been
very steady all year long. So how are we feeling
about the Bears and Packers in this one? Is this
something that's going to be the Aaron Jones more than
Aaron Rodgers or are we going to see the Davante
Adams show here finally show up again? How do you
see this one working out between the Bears and Packers
on this Sunday. Well, it's tough because neither one of

(13:39):
these quarterbacks have fared well against the other team of
late uh, even until last year, they just haven't had
any good games against each other. The Bears have taken
a couple of big losses on defense, so ro Kwan
Smith is out. They do get a team Hicks back
this week, which actually puts this a little bit of
a fade on the Packers run game, because, let's face it,
when he's in the middle, he's a tough guy to

(14:00):
run against. Luckily, Jones has to speed to get outside
and he'll make some any that way. But it is
definitely gonna be a tougher run defense for the Bears today,
then it will be for the passing defense. So I
think Roger is gonna have to air it out in
this one, and we'll see which Aaron Rodgers it is.
Is it the Aaron Rodgers, like you said, that could
sling the ball all over the field, or is it

(14:21):
going to be the Iaron Rodgers that keeps missing his receivers. Yeah.
I think it's very difficult because I feel like this
whole year we've been waiting and waiting, and you got
like one, maybe two of those big Aaron Rodgers games,
but mostly they've been disappointing I would say overall. And
you mentioned a team coming back and that's certainly a huge,

(14:41):
huge win for that. Does that worry you at all?
About Aaron Jones's day where you're looking at your lineup
and you have Aaron Jones and you go, maybe I
need something with a little bit more upside there at
my RB two or my flex because of that lone edition.
Or is that a little bit of an overreaction to
line up construction this week. I think it's a little
bit of an overreact And uh, the one thing we
know about Aaron Jones is that he scores touchdowns. He

(15:04):
gets in the end zone. He did it last year,
even unlimited carries. He's been doing it all year this year.
I think that trend continues. All right, let's move on
to the Rams and Cowboys. Now, the Rams have been
the Tyler Higbee Robert Woods show lately. Yes, Todd Gurley
has come back and been very relevant. That's great, But
really the talk of the town is how many targets

(15:25):
Robert Bert Wood has been getting. He finally had his
first touchdown. We're so proud. It's like losing your first tooth.
It's really just a lovely time there. But finally Robert
Woods has been very relevant again. So I guess here's
my question for you, Jim Tyler Higbee, are we going
all in again, here are we just continuing to ride
this wave? Oh? Absolutely, he's seeing massive amounts of targets.

(15:47):
I think that trend continues because, as you say, you know,
as he's been playing better than the last couple of weeks,
so has the offense. So I think he definitely gives
them another advantage and they have to take care of that.
Cowboys are twenty on the year against opposing tight ends,
so he should have some open fielder, especially with the
injuries up the middle. Shawn Lee is out, Vander esh

(16:08):
has been out, so it definitely opens up the middle
of that field a little bit more for him. All Right,
how do you feel about the Cowboys on the other
end of this? I think Ezekiel Elliott has been You
guess you could describe him as good, not great most
of the year. Sometimes very good. But it hasn't been
a lot of great games for Ezekiel Elliott. Uh. It
feels like the Cowboys are just kind of spiraling out
of control. Do they continue to fall here at home

(16:31):
against this Rams defense, which, ever, since getting embarrassed by
Lamar Jackson, they've actually played much better recently. It's a
different team. I don't know how to explain it. They
have all the pieces in place. The offensive line hasn't
been playing as good as it should be. Um, this
game came in with the Cowboys being favored at home,
and now this morning, all of a sudden, the Rams

(16:53):
are one and a half point favorites in Dallas. So
not a good sign. All the money is going to
the Rams at this point, So it really look Dallas.
It looks like nobody wants to win the NFC East,
but this is Dallas's game at home. If they want
to say, hey, look we are a playoff contender, this
has gotta be the game. Rams are playing better, but

(17:15):
Dallas has to come up big here otherwise you know
why you even bother? Alright, Vikings and charges No Alexander
Madison this one, So that means everything for Dalvin Cook.
On the Charger side, both running backs have been useful.
Austin Eck are coming off a huge two D all
purpose game. Gordon's looked good, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams. Everything
seems to be getting better since they changed who is

(17:37):
running the plays and fired the O C. So are
we buying the Chargers renaissance here? And on offense especially
you know the way things have been going. And on
the flip side with his Vikings game, is Adam feeling
a guy Now that he's active, you're throwing right back
into the lineup, So feeling and charges offense? What's your
take there in this contest? Well dealing, I think is
gonna have a tough matchup going up against Casey. Hey

(17:59):
we're in this one and that that scares me a
little bit. But I do think it opens it up
for Stefan Diggs more so, I think Diggs might have
a decent shot at a good game here. Like you said,
Cook is definitely in and play with Madison out, Cook
should see, you know, of the carry opportunities in this game,
if not more, and I definitely like him even against

(18:22):
a pretty decent Charges defense. But on the other side,
you know, Philip Rivers is playing better, like you said,
Mike Williams is getting more involved. Huntre Henry is there
should be in play as well. Of course, Keenan Allen.
We know what Keenan Allen could do. We've seen the
Vikings defense, the secondary especially get exploited all year. I
don't think that changes this week. And of course, my

(18:45):
favorite stack of the day. I've made no bones about it.
I said on TFS today, it's those forty niners against
the Falcons. I absolutely love uh that situation there for them.
I think it's gonna be a fantastic one for the
forty nine ers. Go all in on the fourty niners
against that Falcons defense. I'm telling you, it's the way
to go. So when we come back, we're going to
do a little fantasy roundtable. Mr Roto expert himself, Davis

(19:07):
Maddox gonna join us for good times here. We'll pick
his brain about some of the things going on, some
of the biggest news and notes and what's happening week
fifteen here in the NFL. You're on the grid here,
it's sports grid. Get on it, Stay on it. We'll

(20:36):
Welcome back, everybody, live here from the FanDuel Sports Book
in the shadow of the Meadowlands Stadium, where the Giants
will take on the Dolphins and a battle of futility
later on this afternoon. But first, before we do that,
welcome back to the show here or experts. In the morning,
it's time for a little round table with Jim Day,
myself and our favorite guest who shows up here every

(20:59):
single Sunday to chat with us. You know him from
Myrtle experts dot com. You know him from Twitter, you
know him from lots of other places. He's super famous.
He's Davis Maddock. Davis. Welcome to the program, my friend.
I think we have Davis there. He is the FanDuel
sports book yesterday and it was the fandel Sports Book.

(21:21):
It was it was pretty nice. Yeah, I heard you
were making the rounds here. So what's what's that? They
let you out of the cage. They finally let you
go walk around a little bit. I feel like they
just keep you in that room all the time. Yeah,
they they let me have a cage. I'm actually in
town to come see the Giant Saltons game and go
and go meet up with that with our layerd Patrick
Lards starting running back to Miami Daltins. Now, speaking of

(21:45):
Patrick Laird, I know you just had him on your show, which,
for those who don't know, Davis does host a podcast
called the take Cast. Am I saying it right right there?
Or was it the tech Cast? Because it's Savis Matt Tech.
I want to make sure I'm saying it, So which
one it's tech. I don't know you had it right
the first time. It's it's take cast. The take cast,
that's a bad Well, listen, you don't have any bad takes,

(22:06):
so don't worry about that. So anyway, you can check
out the take cast over on obviously, iTunes, on Stitcher,
everywhere you can listen to podcasts. And this past week
he just did a great interview Davis did with Patrick Laird's.
If you missed it, go back there and listen on demand,
and again go subscribe to the show as well. We'll
talk a little bit that you know later on, but
first I want to talk to you about all the

(22:28):
guys that are out for the year now, because we've
got Alshon, Jeffrey out for the year, we got Marvin
Jones out for the year, we got uh else, Mike
Evans out for the year. With all these wide receivers
out for the year, Darius guys even running back, couple
other guys there, which one of those guys being out
has affected your fantasy playoffs the most, It's definitely gotta
be al Shan because he was just a guy who

(22:49):
was going a little bit too late and you just
you know how that is those guys that that come
on for you late in the year, they have a
couple of strong games in a row. You know, you
know they're gonna get hurt. That's that is just the
nature of the way it is. And then al Sean
was probably on my two best teams of the whole season.
So I'm I am mourning his loss. Alright. So Jim Day,

(23:10):
who are you mourning? Because we all know you play
five hundred leagues, so I know probably, like you said,
most of them are still in the playoffs and in
the hunt. But you had to have some of these
injuries affect your team. So this is the loser's lounger
where you get to commiserate and and uh kind of
be uh, you know, grab a beer and talk about
what could have been. But any of these guys kind
of kill your week fourteen Uh. Teams that were in

(23:32):
it last week or maybe this week are really put
you in a little bit of peril with some of
those giant injuries. Definitely Mike Evans for me, I had
him quite a few of my teams and definitely took
a big hit with him last week and of course
this week, trying to scramble to replace him. So definitely
not an easy task. And he's uh, yeah, he definitely.

(23:53):
He took me out of at least three playoffs last
week alone. Well that's uh, that's a sad story there.
And everybody has their miserable fantasy football stories. That's part
of the fun as we all get to ride the
highs and the lows of the fantasy football season. But
it's playoff time and it's time to talk about what
matters most. And I want to talk about Rahee Mostard,

(24:14):
who is the last couple of weeks seemed to pulled
away from the pack of running backs in and and
most has been very strong. So I guess here's my
question to you. I'll start with you, Jim, Are we
buying in now that he is the chairman of the board,
all right, he is the guy at the top of
this committee, because it certainly seems like the last two weeks,
this forty niner offense runs better with him at the

(24:35):
front of it. See, I have concerns about Mustard. Absolutely,
he's been running great the last couple of weeks. Coach
comes out, Kyle Shannon, Oh yeah, he's earned the you know,
the starting role. Well, Kyol Shanahan is one of those
coaches who doesn't want to tell you the truth. And
sure he might have earned the starting role, but this week,
you know, last week they came out, everybody expecting him

(24:56):
to Bryan do down on the ground, and they came
right out throwing the ball right a and really put
the Saints defense on their heels. I think this week
they just reverse the roles and go back o being
a run heavy team, and with that we could see
all three of their running backs involved, because don't forget
Coleman and Breeda are both healthy. H Coleman, you know,

(25:16):
I mean, I don't know what's going on. Maybe he
was in the doghouse, maybe not, But this would be
the kind of situation that Shanahan will take advantage of.
Hey'll say, oh yeah, monster, it's our guy, and we're
gonna go to him, and then all of a sudden
just switch it up and throw you a curveball by
featuring one of the other two backs. I just don't
trust anything that comes out of Kyle Shannon's mouth. So Davis,

(25:38):
do you have the same concerns? Are you worried too
that Kevin Coleman could show up again into this and
really eat into most hearts. So workload or maybe a map,
Brita or do you have the same kind of concern
that Jim seems to have. So I think the concern
is pretty valid because you you just look at it
like this. Yes, Moster has been playing very well, but
what happens if he has too bad series? Maybe he bumbles,

(26:01):
maybe he drops a path, doesn't do what's blocked for him. Well,
there's really no rational reason why a coach would continue
to go back to a running back is not getting
the job done when they have Tevin Coleman, they have
Matt Breeds. So I think the median outcome here is
like a fine game for most But in the semifinals
of the Fantasy Ball playoffs, I don't know if I'd

(26:21):
want to be playing a guy who has a floor
of like like legitimately like one point if things go
like like you know, sort of wrong for him. All right,
that's fair enough. You guys are Debbie Downers. I'm gonna
tell you what I'm all in. Let's go, let's go
with Mostirt and uh, I just feel like that seems
to be where things are going. The forty diners are
looking stronger offensively and h I'm sure Tevin Coleman will

(26:45):
get his opportunities. But it seems like part of the
balance that they're finding here between the acquisition of Emmanuel
Sanders the emergence of Deebo Samuel is also this run
game with Raheem Mostart at the front of it. So
I feel good about him starting him this week for sure.
Let's talk about Josh Jacobs and DeAndre Washington that situation.
We didn't want to squash your good feelings there, Sorry, Joe,

(27:07):
that's all right, that's okay. I remember a couple of
weeks ago, and it's a good feelings and uh I
was the lone man on the totem pole and uh
I guess what it uh It worked out pretty good
on that one too. But I don't want to bring
up the past. It wants to live in the past.
Let's talk a little bit more about the future and
this Josh Jacobs game now, Jim and I just talked
about this Davis in the opening segment. I want to
bring it to you and get your take on this.

(27:27):
So Jacobs is playing despite the shoulder injury. A question
to you is twofold number one. Do you feel good
about starting him out there. Obviously you have to fire
him up he's on the field. I think he's out
there for sentimental reasons. Last game in the black Hole,
it's kind of important, great match up against Jacksonville. But
really the part two of this question is more about
DeAndre Washington. Are you still floating him out there as

(27:47):
a potential flex play with Jacob's back? Is there enough
to go around Davis? So every league where I have
Josh Jacobs, I also have DeAndre Washington. And I'll be honest,
it's it's my job, you know the answer to these questions,
and I just I do not know what the right
thing is to do. You know, we got the reporting
for ly a week that Jacobs was feeling better, that

(28:09):
he was, that he was going to be good to go,
and then in the same report they said that Jacob
had a hard time reaching his shoulder up and putting
his hoodie on after practice. So it's like, I mean,
how is he going to go out there and go
play for the football when he can't put his hoodie on?
And I I really think that this is a situation
where we don't know, but the the knowable outcome is

(28:30):
it's we we cannot have access to it right now.
Al Right, I think that's fair enough. I think you
just take your shot there with Jacobs. You hope for
the best, and I think this might be the last
time you see him the rest of the season. All right,
Let's let's talk a little bit about that tight end position.
And uh, last week we talked about Advance McDonald. We
could possibly roll him out there against the Cardinals who

(28:51):
were absolutely stunning lee awful against tight ends all year.
Davis was very bright, he said no. Jim was very bright.
He said no, I agree. We all said no. Now
we have David and Joku coming into town here, so uh,
any takers for this, Jim Day? Do you think David
and Joku is a streaming tight end against those Arizona
Cardinals this week? No, I don't trust. I can't sell

(29:17):
anybody a tight end against the Cardinals. What's the world
coming to? I'm out it? Look in week fifteen after
his injuries and just the nose shows the last couple
of weeks. I know it's a great matchup, but it's
so hard to trust. There's a lot of other guys
out there that are fringe players to me that I
think have more upside than the Joko does, just because

(29:39):
this offense just isn't moving very well and I don't
trust the Joku. No, that's fair, all right, Davis. I
feel like I know the answer before I ask, but
I'll ask it anyway because it's a round table. So
tell me in Joku streaming tight end this week. So
he's an option. I think he's. I think he's he's

(29:59):
like much more of an option than Vance McDonald was.
The issue was in his first couple of weeks back
from injury, he just says not played very much. So
if they ramp his snaps up to you know, sixty
six percent of the team's death, I actually thinking Joe,
who should would be would be one of the tight
ends who had a chance to destroy Arizona. But I
don't feel that confident that they're increasing its snaps. So
you know, I like streaming guys like O. J. Howard

(30:21):
and I and Thomas over him. Okay. I want to
remind everybody that not just the take Cast podcast which
features Davis Maddock, which you should subscribe to everywhere that
you listen to podcasts, but also I want to remind

streaming for free, in addition to obviously Zumo and Pluto TV.
So make sure you check out all that, especially Davis's podcast.
In the meantime, you can follow him on the Twitter
machine at Davis Maddock as well. Davis. Real quick, before
we get out of here, speaking of those Cardinals, they
said David Johnson probably will not be back in So

(31:04):
what does this mean for his dynasty value? Well, I
guess you better hope that he goes to Kansas City
or Tampa Bay or somewhere with a very good quarterback,
because it's gonna be it's gonna be hard for his
preseason outlook to be better next year than us this year.
All right, there, you go, enjoy the game today, Davis,
appreciate you coming on even though you're traveling. You're a

(31:26):
man about town again like everybody uh said earlier. Make
sure you go check out the take cast over on

So get on the grid because this is where sports
wagering and fantasy happen. All right, So a couple of
things to get to. Damian Williams not expected to play
in week fifteen. Apparently illness on top of the ribs

(33:40):
not a good combination both. Scarborough is gonna be a
game time decision, so keep an eye on that. Not
necessarily what you're looking for when you're desperate for running back.
James Conner will start, as we mentioned, earlier in the show,
and Julian Edelman is optimistic about playing so good. That's great.
I'm optimistic also about Julian Edelman playing. So speaking of

(34:00):
who's playing and who's not, who's playing in our lineups
the fantasy Tazz, me and Jim Day are gonna go
and break things down for you. So let's start with
the QB ones and the start sits for the second
round of the playoffs because you want to get to
that championship week. So Jim Day QB one, Aaron Rodgers,
Jared Goff, Carson wentz of these three, how do you

(34:20):
rank them? What's the order you like them best? For
the QB one leagues? Actually, just the way he said it,
I got Rogers at ten, at at thirteen and went
said fifteen, right right, I think that's very fair. Yeah.
Do you have any concerns about golf on the road today,
I'm curious. I do have a little bit of concern

(34:42):
But you know, they've been playing a little better, They've
been getting that upbeat tempo going a little bit more.
I think that plays into it. And again, like I said,
Dallas is hurting up the middle. Uh, you know, golf
definitely loves to play over that middle, so I think
that plays writing to his hands. All right, it's let's
do a little ten thousand feet looking at next year.

(35:04):
For those people who own Carson Wentz and dynasty and
keeper formats, I'm curious if you think that they get
let's say, a real big time wide receiver in the draft,
which one would imagine that would be a huge priority
for them. Do you feel like Carson Wentz can rebound
and get to that same place that he was a
couple of years ago before the injury, we were talking
about him as a, you know, a top tier quarterback

(35:27):
in terms of fantasy not necessarily a guy who's on
the fringe of QB one, but more a guy that
is absolutely a top ten, maybe even a top five.
Can he get back there with just a little reorganization
of the weapons around him? He could? Absolutely. They still
have a good offensive line, um, you know, and and
this team knows what they're doing, like from the GM down,
They're they're building a solid core around It's just these

(35:49):
injuries have killed him, and the loss of de Seawan
Jackson has been vital to this offense all year because
they haven't had a deep threat and if you can't
stretch the field at all, all you're gonna do is
keep bringing the defenders into the box, into the box,
and that's where they get disrupted. If they can get
back to having a good, solid wide receiver one and

(36:09):
a deep thread on the other side, then we could
see Carson Wentz get back into that you know, top
tier quarterback. He has that kind of game, but it
just hasn't worked this year just because of the injuries.
And I think de Sean Jackson was the key to that. Yeah,
I would agree with that. I think that Whence it's
been a tough year, but mostly because that wide receiving
corps really let him down and they just become very

(36:31):
one dimensional offense. It's just been urts the run games.
Taken a while for it to kind of get going.
Miles Sanders has been better of late, but its a
lot of injuries, a lot of issues there. They need
to address that wide receiver corps in the off season. Eagles, GM,
you're listening, go out there, get it done. Not one
of these old retread guys like how Sean Jeffrey who
might be good for a couple of weeks and gets hurt.
Get him a young, fast, big body, wide receiver. They

(36:53):
can make some plays and help this guy out. He's
a franchise, all right. Enough about him, Let's get to
the second tier quarterback for super flex leagues. We got
Derek Carr, Philip Rivers, Jacoby Brissette. Rank him for me, Brissette, Rivers, Car,
Jim Day. How do you have him? Let's say I
got Rivers at sixteen, so I have him the highest.
I have Car right behind him at seventeen, and then

(37:15):
I have Brissette down at twenty four against the Saints.
All right, So what are those concerns against the Saints?
Because look, I understand you know the Saints defense had
a really good run there, but of late they have
not looked great. Do you think that maybe Brissette has
a better day than we anticipate or do you think
this is the get right game for that defense? No? No,
I think Brissette could have. It really does come down

(37:38):
to whether or not t Y Hilton plays and if
he's efficient while he plays, um does he step on
the field and can actually produce, then I think we
could see a good game out of Brissette. But right
now I just don't have a comfortable feeling about t
Y Hilton after what we've seen the last few weeks
of him trying not getting out there this week. You know,
he's a game time decision on a Monday night game,

(38:00):
not a great thing. So at this point, I just
don't trust it. If if t Y Hilton is fully
healthy out there playing well, then proct could absolutely blow
this ranking away. At this point in time, though, I
just don't trust it. All right, let's go to the
running backs here, DeVonta Freeman, who's been doing with an
injury all week. He is going to play. Uh, it's
a tough match up against the forty niners. But at

(38:22):
the same time, Jim Freeman's called the ball a lot.
He's got forty six catches on the here and that's
with missing a game or two here and there. So
would you be firing up Davonta Freeman as an RB
two this week? I haven't right at that that edge
of the running back to I haven't been twenty four.
It is a tough San Francisco defense, no doubt about it.
But Freeman, you know, hopefully does get involved in that

(38:44):
pass catching part of it, and they use him as
that outlet plant pass. If he does, then he absolutely
can put up good points and get you what you
need in PPR leagues in standard leagues. I don't love
him this week, all right? What about Marl and mac
another running back recently returned from injury. We just talked
a little bit about Brissette. How do you feel about

(39:05):
Marlon Mack in that game against the Saints. I'm not
loving Marlon Mackey. The Saints have been pretty good against
the run most of the season, have given up a
couple of big games lately, and that's concerning. But Mack,
even before the injury, I wasn't tearing it up. He
hasn't been a huge factor all season, and I'm not
sure I'm ready to buy him in Week fifteen. He

(39:25):
just hasn't been there. Kenny sneak in for a touchdown, absolutely,
but I think it could be a touchdown where he
only gets you like sixty five yards seventy yards in
a touchdown, so he could get you into double digits,
but he needs that touchdown. All right. Here's one that
might be one of those overthinker moments because Darius Guys
is now out for the year, so the backfield now

(39:47):
pivots back to Adrian Peterson getting the full workload. However,
tough matchup against the Eagles defense has been very good
against the run this year. So my question to you
is is this a trap? I understand you don't look
for a huge total from the Redskins, but they have
been committed to running the football. Peterson has been good.
Matchup is questionable. What do you do with a P?
Is he a flex for you? Are you starting him?

(40:07):
How do you feel about a P this week? I'm
starting him. Look every time we push a P down
because it's a bad matchup, tough defense, he comes out
and runs right through him, you know. And I think
that trend continues. They're gonna give him the ball a
ton with guys being out. I know Chris Thompson is
still in the picture as a passing down back, but
a P is going to get all the you know,

(40:29):
early work. He's gonna get the goal line work. And
I think even against his tough Eagles defense in this game,
he's still wanting to prove something for some reason to somebody,
and I think he does it again this week. Sony
Michelle hasn't had a double digit game since the Jets
Week seven, it's been a while, So do we feel

(40:50):
like they get back to Sony Michelle ever or is
this a guy now you just gotta leave on your
bench until further notice or maybe just the rest of
the season, no matter what. He's such a hard read.
But I heard you talking about it and the show
earlier with Mike, and I agree with you. If if
Patriots have any chance to do anything in the playoffs,
especially if they don't get home field advantage throughout, they're

(41:11):
gonna need to get Sony Michelle healthy. They just will.
But ever since they lost James Devlin, Michelle has been garbage. Um,
they don't trust him enough to just let him run
the ball up the middle on his own. Uh, they're
using Rex burke head too much. They're using James White
a ton, of course. And I just you know, at
this point in time, I couldn't put him in there

(41:32):
this week, knowing he could still score two touchdowns at
any given point, but he just hasn't done it in
some juicy matchups to the date, and I just can't
put him out there this week hoping that this is
the week he gets right. Yeah, and Devil is not
gonna return this season, So it's just gonna be more
of the same. So I think you said him, I
think you're looking I'd rather start a p over him.

(41:53):
I think I can put it for you that way.
With the news of Damny Williams being out, Yeah, would
you look for McCoy to step into that void? Would
you go back to the Darwin Thompson? Well, were you
just sitting all those Chiefs running backs altogether? Yeah, I'm
kind of staying away from that miasma that is the
Chief's back field at this point. I just don't love
it at all. Uh. If I'm gonna take a shot

(42:16):
on anybody, I think i'd have to go with the
fresh legs of Darwin Thompson. McCoy just hasn't looked like
he has those legs. But at the same time, McCoy
could be the one they put into one to get
that one yard plunge. And that scares me all right now,
not just DeVante Barker, but another Dolphins wide out just
signed to and that's Alan Hearns has played pretty well
of late two. Do you think Hearns is a guy

(42:37):
that you would fire back up? Uh? Maybe as a
PPR flex potentiary. With this matchup against the Giants. Oh um,
he's definitely somebody who comes into play. I think, like
you said, this matchup against it seems like a deeper league. Yeah,
definitely in a deeper league he comes into play a
lot more. I'd like him a little bit more if

(42:58):
Albert Wilson wasn't on the field taking some of those
shots away from him. But like you said, Hearns is
playing better. He's getting more involved and I like that.
And in this matchup he could definitely be, you know,
one of those guys that comes out of nowhere and
really you know, puts up a good game. I like
him better in like a GPP play. Uh in DFS

(43:18):
is somebody that won't be highly owned, Yeah, I can
certainly look at that. We talked about him as a
maybe if you want to get down ownership there, play
Fitzpatrick instead of the obvious perre the Parker. Maybe do
one line up where you have Hearns instead Mike Williams
recent resurgence. Are you buying into it enough where you
feel comfortable starting in? I think I have him as
a wide receiver three. I think it's a decent enough

(43:39):
situation for him, especially considering that Vikings cornerback play has
not been great. What do you think about Mike Williams today?
I like Mike Williams. Like I said, Rivers is playing better.
Minnesota's secondary has been atrocious all year twenty six on
the season against opposing wide out, So I think Mike
Williams is definitely in play. I like this kid a lot,
so I always look for the best of him, but

(44:01):
it just hasn't really gotten to the place where we
need it to be. But he's still playing right now,
and he's always a threat to score touch Now. Alright,
Mike are he said earlier, he does? I mean so?
Uh uh. Jim Murray said earlier he does not like
James Washington or Deonte Johnson. But I want to talk
about two other guys you're right on the bubble, Anthony
Miller and Brashod Perryman. With Mike Evans out, Perriman was

(44:23):
a very popular ad. Are you starting him if you
added him this week? And Anthony Miller? Do you buy
into the trend moving upward? I do like Anthony Miller.
He's definitely getting more involved, he's getting more opportunities, and
he's making some good plays. So with Rabinsky, playing better.
I do like Miller. Now again, I said earlier that
Drabinsky hasn't really had a good game against the Packers,

(44:44):
but right now he's probably playing the best of his career.
So it's gonna be interesting to see if he can
continue that trend. Um. As far as Perriman, I do
kind of like Perriman, but actually I like another receiver
on that team better in Justin Watson. I think he's
another big, plaguy, big strong receiver. Had more targets last
week than Perryman did. Um. You know, I just think

(45:06):
he could be the surprise. I actually have him on
a couple of my DFS lineups as well. Alright, let's
do a little three and out here the three things
we're looking for on this week fifteen. Real quick, Jim,
give me yours. What are you looking for on this Sunday?
Your number one thing? I really want to see if
tanne Hill could keep it going. Uh. He's been the
biggest surprise to me on the season. I hated him

(45:28):
in Miami. I thought he was a bum. He comes
to Tennessee and all of a sudden looks like a
world beater. I want to see if he continue to
do it when the game is on the line for
his team. All Right, My two and three here are
kind of connected to each other from last week, which is,
can the Saints defense turn things around and show up?
And can that San Francisco offense continue to show out

(45:49):
like they did last week? So we'll keep an eye
on that. I want to thank Davis Maddock for joining
us as always, and of course, Jim Day you could
follow him on the Twitter machine at Fantasy Taz and
check him out during the week right here on sports
grid dot com. Get on the grid. That'll do it
for us here. Of course, we'll be back again next
week for Championship Week on the sixteen. And uh, that's it.

(46:10):
That's it. We're done already. Can you believe it? It's
been fun. Uh, that'll do it for us here. Stay
tuned Pro Football Today coming up next. I'm Joey p.

(46:54):
Daily Rodo dot com mission by that much, here's what
you missed on the run of Expert. Do you be
starting Washington as a flex in this game? I understand

(47:16):
the reason. I think it's a sentimental and I think it's, hey,
all hands on deck, let's get one more victory here,
because this is it for us? Is it in front
of this fan base, and it's kind of a big deal.
And I think John Gruden understands the weight of that
moment for that Oakland fan base. I guess the question is,
would you feel good about starting Washington as a flex?
Is there enough volume there for both of these guys
in this game against Jacksonville. I wouldn't feel good about

(47:38):
starting Washington as long as Jacobs is playing. Look, we
went through this a couple of weeks ago with Cook
coming off the industry injury in Minnesota and everybody wondering, well,
is he gonna play a full game? Should we start Madison?
Madison did nothing in that game, so everybody who put
him in their starting lineup Scott screwed. I think that
very well, could be the same thing that happens here today,
and I wouldn't take that chance of putting Washington in

(48:00):
there too. All right now, speaking of getting screwed, let's
talk a little bit about Todd Gurley, who who screwed
a lot of fantasy teams this year. But all of
a sudden, lately, Todd Gurley has been dare I say,
Todd Gurley of old? The last couple of weeks, the
touches have gone up, the touchdowns have come back, even
the receptions have kind of showed up a little bit.
So are we in a spot now where we actually,

(48:21):
if somehow you made it to the playoffs with Todd Gurley?
Are you feeling comfortable about what you're seeing in this
shift to Todd Gurley of what we are used to
as opposed Todd Gurley what we saw the first I
don't know, twelve weeks in the season there, Jim, Well,
he had a couple of good weeks early on. He
did have that four game span where he had five
touchdowns in those four games early in the season. But

(48:41):
you're right, I mean, lately we're starting to see him
get into that nineteen Carrie range, which is where he
needs to be. He's always needed to be there to
really put up big numbers. So we're finally starting to
see that. Um, Cowboys are a good defense, but they're hurting,
especially up the middle. So Gurley should have a nice
game in this one today. I do like him. I
like the fact that he's gotten in the end zone

(49:01):
in each of the last two games. So I definitely
think that Garli is starting to get the amount of
carys he needs to get really flowing, and that's what
we're looking for, all right. Some more running back news.
Derrick Henry with the hamstring was questionable, but he is
going to play, so that's good news there for him.
James Conner also was questionable, but he is going to
play against the Bills. But Juju Smith Schuster is out

(49:23):
yet again. It's basically shaped up to be kind of
a lost season for Juju. So, in your opinion, are
you comfortable starting Deante Johnson and James Washington with his
news of Juju being out for the night game? Oh
not at all, Um, I don't really feel comfortable with
either one of them going up against his Bills secondary
that you know they're really good, um, and I just
don't trust his quarterback. I think they're all over him

(49:45):
all the time in this one. I think if Steelers
come out of this would a win once again, it's
gonna be on the backs of their defense shutting down
to Bill's offense. So yeah, I don't really have any
faith whatsoever in Yante Johnson or James Washington
