This is a podcast called twenty five wists stuck in
front and they go, well, whizz so.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, it's too bad, but what did you expect?
Speaker 4 (01:37):
It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles twine.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, Hey how about that toe? About that
big toe?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
For real?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
That was crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I had a bunch of money on the Chiefs last night,
and I owned the Chiefs in a league that don't
we buy teams, and.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
It was a very expensive buy for me to actually
buy the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
And when Lamar threw that touchdown at the end of
the game to Isaiah Likely, I was like, that sucks.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
We're going to overtime.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
That sucks.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
And then they reviewed it and it was like, man.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
I to I don't even think white cleats though, would
have made a difference with how those cameras had it,
because that was the joke. And even Lamar after the
game was like, I stand by it was a touchdown. No, no, no, no, Lamar. Yeah,
I don't get the you can't stand by it. It's
it just wasn't It was a great play. The past
before that was kind of weird. I don't know if
(02:29):
I've read multiple and then I'll get off this.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
But that was fun.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
It was a fun ish, fun ish game last night.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Absolutely, definitely a little rusty. He's supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
But the two best teams arguably through forty nine ers
in there though, Buffalo in there.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Whatever. It's fun.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
But the play before that, Lamar just missed the throw.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
But then you're reading half people going, well, the guys
should have just sat because it was a zone. And
then the other one was another guy missed her out
and he was throwing it. Either way, the play didn't
happen ten seconds left, they missed the throw. Is excellent
final play. Likely made a great play. He made a
great play before that where I thought he died. Yeah,
he like dislocated his shoulder right like felt and it
was like in the concrete part of the field too.
(03:08):
He was like back there near the wall, he's hurting today,
Yeah for sure, well even his heart. Yeah, you see
him after I didn't.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
He said, if this is the best they got, they
better be ready in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
They just did that last year. They but last year's
they and it's also not the best they got. It's
game one, and.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, he was like, this is the worst will play
all year. It's like, well what everyone plays the worst?
So it's fun game.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yeah, it was entertaining, It was a it was a
you know what, It was fun to have a game.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, Lamar rushed for over one hundred yards too, right right, Yeah,
mahomes uh threw a pick. My favorite mahomes play the
night was when he caught his own ball to make
sure that the clock kept running. It was like in
the last drive up almost in the two minute warning
and can say needed a first down, ball gets deflected
and it's him versus I think maybe a linebacker and
a d lineman.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
He jumps up and makes the catch and comes down.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
That was pretty cool.
Speaker 6 (03:58):
Yeah, I mean that's why he's the greatest.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
That's pretty cool. Yeah, that's right. I mean, come on,
I like that. Okay, So enough about that.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Kansas coach Lance Lapolt's coming up. We're very excited about that.
But let's do the tittle tattle first. You're right, tim
me here, Yes, I will start with we're a little
premature titty there.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
All right, here we go, let's go the tittle tattle.
After Belichick shocked everyone this week and joined Instagram, who
was one active coach you'd love to see on the gram.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
I didn't like to see Belichick on Instagram neither, because
I saw him join and then I saw, well.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
That's probably not real.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
But then I saw a lot of people going, no,
we're for sure it's real, and then the blue check
mark and that he hadn't posted anything, but he had.
When I saw it, like seventeen thousand followers. So the
reason he's joining is because now he's a media figure.
When he's a coach, you don't need Instagram. He's a
media figure, so he's doing it to promote and possibly
in his contract he must use a social media to
promote a certain amount. Not sure, but in some of
(04:58):
mine I have those tipy, I don't like most of
my coaches on social media because I don't want them
wanting that attention or spending time worried about it. Now,
it's cool if you have a coach on social media,
but you know they're not posting like I know at Arkansas,
Sam Pittman's not posting his Twitter.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
People do that for him for the most part.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah, occasionally he'll get in there and do something, but
mostly he's just like, hey, tweet this tweet that. The
only coach I can see it makes sense to be
on Instagram is down in Miami, Mike me Daniel.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
That's the only coach.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
While I would go he should have an Instagram because
he's funny or quirky or interesting or I don't know.
I feel like he could also like do Rosetta Stone,
teach me a language, or he could do something.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
He's just smart.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
And so mikemy Daniels is basically the only coach that
I go. He needs to be an Instagram guy and
I need to.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Follow him, so it would be fun.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah, like Dan Campbell, he's interesting. The Apple's commercial is
good or Chili's Yeah, Applebee's Yeah, that's funny.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yeah that was funny. But it's funny.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
But because he's so anti being, he's a.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Big, burly, motivational guy.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, no Instagram.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
No, Andy Reid does not even need Instagram. I'm only
going Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
That's it. Matter of fact.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
No NFL head coaches should be on there unless it's
Mike me Daniel and that's.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
The only one. Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
All right.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Pete Carroll but he's gone now. I want to mind
it at Pete Carroll a little bit because he's kind
of soft. He's like fun.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yeah, he's like ninety three, but feels like he's forty.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Isn't that crazy how old he is?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
It feels like he's forty?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
All right? What else you got at seven point underdogs
at home? Do you think Michigan's being disrespected against Mike's
Texas team this week?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
I don't know, at home feels a whole touchdown at
home feels weird just with those two teams.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
But I don't think we really learned anything.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
About Texas last week because they played Colorado State and
they beat the crap out of them. The first part
of the game was interesting because Colorado State like look
like for a second they might think about trying, but
they didn't. They stopped thinking about trying, and it was
ended up being two hundred to nothing. But then Texas
also is known to not be as good as they
are no offense, Mike the culture not last year. Last
(07:04):
year they made the playoffs, but normally Texas recruits. We're
putting it we'll start them at eight this year, we'll
start them at fourteen, and they flare out in a
weaker conference. I can't be convinced. Also, I hate Texas,
but I can't be convinced that Texas is like for real,
for real, even though everything says they are. Sarks a
good coach, they have a really good quarterback, maybe a
(07:24):
better backup quarterback. We can't play or do at the
same time. No running back is a good wide receivers
good off it's the line's good Michigan obviously a lot
of turnover, including their head coach. Seven points just feels
like a lot at home. But I'm not gonna be tricked.
I'm not betting that game at all. I'm running from
that game so hard because I do not know.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
The big house.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
I know it feels like that, but again, Texas A
and M is also a really crazy place to go play.
Note and Notre Dame went there, not with the ease,
but what they're fine there.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah, but yeah, I guess everyone's gone from Michigan. That's
the problem. Yeah, we don't know what they are. That's
we do know.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
They're not what they were last year.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah, even if they had even if they lost all
those players, but they still had hardball, you you would
give them much more of a chance, right, Yeah, it's
a rookie head coach.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, you're called a rookie in college if you're a
head coach right first year, you're not a freshman head
coach red shirt.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Well, well it'd be a because that what will happen to.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
What's fun to me is Herbstreet will be on doing
college games and call someone a rookie because he also
does ANFL games.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Now, maybe he's just decided freshmen are rookies as well,
and he's just gonna universally call everybody a rookie. Or
maybe he gets a mixed up and just calls a
first year person a rookie. But it wouldn't be a
freshman head coach. It wouldn't be a rookie head coach
in college. Yeah, or a first year which obviously it's
(08:54):
first year, but it just be a first year.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah. I don't think I could call him a rookie
head coach. That sounds weird me.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
You all know something funny.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
I don't know why I should admit this. I admit it.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Okay, you've convinced me read by saying it. Very I
was sent a list of college coaches that we could
possibly have on in the next couple of weeks. Lance
Lapold's coming up.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I love that dude.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
He started that Kansas program around the dude's like the
winning is d three coach, ever, like it goes to
Buffalo does well.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Kansas is top twenty five now, and so.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
So I get sent this list and the list is, hey,
here are some college football coaches that we could possibly
have on your show. Let me know who are a
list for you and I picked. I'll just give you
a few a listers that I picked. Obviously, Kirby Smart
it's the guy. He's the guy.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
He was on that list.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, and I don't know what that We're gonna get
it for sure, but they were like, hey, we have
a relationship. They're possibly weekend. Ryan Day was on the
list in Ohio State. I'm like, absolutely, Kaitlin de Borr
Alabama head coach. Jeez, absolutely, I love Marcus Freeman. I
want to be Marcus for he's a Notre Dame head coach.
They also had listed Lincoln Riley. Why not Josh Hipel
(10:17):
of course, Steve Sarkisian pass why.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I think I.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Have many many ties into Austin and even the program,
And it's all out of respect that I hate Texas
because they beat the crap out of us, and they're
bigger than us and they're richer than us, and that's
why you hate them, right, Yeah, it's a sports rivalry.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
So that means I don't like them because I don't
like getting beat by them.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
So there are other big, rich teams I don't have
no interest in because they don't beat the crap out
of us, But I feel like if Sart came on,
I just can't lead, or if I did to be
awkward with the truth. Hey coach, welcome to the show man.
I hate you guys, all right? Yeah see above me.
Now I could go, hey coach, walk on. I'm a
(11:05):
heart Razorback fan. We have been conditioned to be anti
Texas our whole lot. I can lead with something like that,
but how that would be appreciated, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
And never I never want anyone.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
To come on and feel like they're being disrespected because
they're giving us their time.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
So go ahead. This is like when we went to
Saint Louis and you wore the jerseys and you're like,
I'm a Cubs fan. That sucks, and I said, I
don't think I could ever do this if we went
to Yankee Stadium as a Red Sox fan.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Different though your hate burns deeper for Texas.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
My hat das burned deeper for Texas than the Cardinals Cubs.
And not only that, the Cardinals were letting us into
their facility to play with their play. I would go
to too much access to Texas. I would I would
go to do too much access.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
And you'd wear gear, and I would wear gear. That's
gonna be my new phone wallpaper if you do.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
I have already had to have those conversations with myself
because the product is bigger than whatever my stupid sports
ego and hatred is. Because I think we were going
to be really funny. And Texas their facilities is the
best I've ever seen them, whole lot amazing. It's like
it sounds like any other we went to Oregon, Oregon
probably second. They were awesome, A plus organ to me,
(12:16):
I would have been like, Wow, mind blowing Disney World,
Epcot Center.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Look at all the countries. This is crazy, all the
different shiny things.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
But I don't know how.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
I don't know how they do that in Texas, Like
every room is like something different and great. But that
just makes me so much more jealous.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Oh yeah, that's true. So but I can reply?
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Should I reply back and be like, oh, I'm sorry,
I didn't I didn't include Sark.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
I meant to put Sark on there.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Wait wait, wait, so you already said like you didn't
you didn't say Sark. You already left the yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
I interview, Well see, and that would I don't feel
like that would be respectful.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah, I know, I know, So.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
I just sent the list back I didn't put on there.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I said, these are the people I'd really love to
talk to everyone, but start there were other people I
didn't put on there.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Some though, like Dan Lanning, he was on there. We
just had him wait a half an hour with them.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Yeah, and otherwise I'd have been like, yeah, I'll give
an left nut to have Dan Lanning on. But Kirby Smart,
Ryan Day, Kaylen de Bor, Marcus Freeman, Lane Kiffin would
be awesome.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Lane would be great.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
I have a shan more on their fer mission. Okay,
first year rookie freshman head coach.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
That would be Riley Hypel Brent Ventables, even though he
doesn't do very good interviews, like he's not a guy
that wants to do interviews.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
I talked to him and I may talk to him
in two weeks when I go out there.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Brian Kelly Lsu probably won't be a great interview if
we get him, but that's just his personality.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I'd love to talk to him.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
I don't think he's going to give a lot with
He's not a big personality guy coach, you know, mm hmmm.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
And Matt Rule I put Matt Roule on the.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Low Nebraska, Yeah, because like he's not at all he's
not at all a Baylor I mean even before Baylor,
he'd be a good interview. Yeah, and then went to
Carolina didn't work out. Now we're understanding it's not the
coach issue at Carolina. It's ownership that's the worst friggin'
that's terrible. If they offered me the job, why I
would still take it, But the whole time I'd be like,
you guys know, this is a tough situation, and when
I get fired, it's not because of me. They also
(14:12):
offered me some players, like hey, would you like to
talk to some of these college players? And it wasn't
offered like do you want them? But it's like we
have relationships these to who we'd think we could get,
And one of them was Quinn. You weres in Texas.
I did say yes to that. I said we would,
We'd love to talk to Quinn. I don't know what
the difference is. I'm a head of my heart because
(14:34):
he's a kid. May maybe because he committed to Ohio
State at first, and like then, even though he's a
Texas boy, he was Ohio State transferred.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
I don't know, I had a mullet.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
I don't know, hmm.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Some about those little I don't know. But I did
say yes to that, and I said, JAYL Milroe should
or Travis Hunter. You probably get should earn Travis Hunters
by calling Dion, But I never want to use.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
That relationship right that way.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
But yeah, that's that. Oh, no big deal, That's what's up.
So go Michigan, is what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Basically, I'm not betting that game, but let's go wolver
It's the first time they've been an underdog at home
since twenty twenty one. And it's not even because it
was a random game. It was Ohio State too, so
they're never underdogs at home. But that that'll be a
fun that'd be a fun.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Thing, all right. NFL. Here a lot of quarterback battles
coming into the season. Which Week one starter do you
think will be replaced?
Speaker 6 (15:26):
First?
Speaker 7 (15:26):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Replaced? You're gonna ask me, like, who's gonna do awesome?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Well, you have to go to New England. I'm gonna
talk to this out. Jacoby Brissett as the starter.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I don't think they expect him to play well because
I don't think he really has an opportunity to play well.
That offensive line's gonna be in trouble. They they they
actually could end up being okay at best.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
After watching the Ravens last night, I feel a little
bit better.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
I do think that it may not be as bad
four or five, six weeks into the season. It's a
it's a it's a pretty light group up there. But
I don't think even if it's going bad, I don't
think they're gonna put Drake may in because Brissette is struggling.
I think they're gonna put May in when they feel
like he can actually go in and not be forced
to struggle because it's the only option. Like they got
(16:14):
to give Drake Mason time. Yeah, I love bo Knicks.
I bet bow Next to be Rookie of the Year.
Nice for a couple of reasons. One, if you were
just to say pick one gun to your head, I
would pick probably one of the big three, which would
be Caleb in Chicago, Jaden in Washington, or Harrison wide receiver.
(16:37):
I think he's gonna have a big year. Like those
are the three I think, and probably are the top
three as far as the odds go.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
But I think bow Knicks in that system.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
I think he's gonna play really well, and I think
Denver may win nine or ten games, which would be
really cool. I think he could be the rookie of
the year, and his odds were so bad, meaning you
bet a little to win a lot that I felt
like for me, that felt like a good play, like
the I bet Boonicks to be Rookie of the Year.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
But I think the one where they're not going to
have as much of a.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Like a.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Patient like is Pittsburgh.
Speaker 8 (17:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
I just think because they have two quarterbacks that were
already close. There was already talk it was it was.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Going to be the whole time Russ.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Right, we knew Russ was going to be the starter,
with Justin Fields coming in to do whatever he does
and hopefully develop and be the guy later. But even
during the preseason, there started to be some talk of like,
who is it going to be now? And although it
was still always Russ, the fact that those conversations kind
of reopened made me feel that possibly there could be
(17:45):
a change sooner than later. I think Russ is the
first to be replaced. Of there's there's the Gardner, Minshew
Aid and O'Connell.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
But I think that's Gardner's job. I think it's not
gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
No, I mean Steelers have higher expectation.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Yeah, and I think that's why Russell probably the guy
flipped first.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
If things don't go right, So you think like, uh,
like say they start two and two, No they won't. No, No,
you're good, he's good.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Yeah, they start one in three, zero and four, they
probably make a change.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, maybe not four weeks though, maybe five or six weeks.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
I don't feel like this is a Jacoby Presett situation
where you're just giving someone some time.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Also depends on how bad he is, I guess right, yeah,
But I.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Feel like Russ has a floor that's not terribly low,
but a ceiling that's not terribly high.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Like I don't think Russ comes out and just plays
terribly like. I think he's fine.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Did you see the list last night with Lamar got
in the top three rushing all time with Vic and
cam Newton, and then number four is Russ Wilson. I
didn't know. That's not what would have been in my
mind as number four.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Uh, I'm going Russ, going danger, Russ, they owe danger, give.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Me one more all right, last one. Would you be
worried about Lamar's health this season after last night's game?
Speaker 4 (19:07):
No?
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Here's why, well, yes, based on every other year he had.
He wasn't hurt last year, right, and that was before
his contract. It was how can we pay somebody seven
billion dollars if they're always hurt? And so much like
I would have done my contract year, I would not
be hurt. I'll just demand and not get hurt and
not get hurt. And he makes a ton of money.
Then he comes out he has a great year last year,
(19:29):
MVP last year. H So my answer is no, even
why when he plays he gets down quick and a lot,
meaning he slides a lot. He dives a lot, but
he dives forward and low a lot more than just
to dive. He's pretty smart with his body. You do
want him to run hid right over one hundred yard
last night? It's what It's what kept that game close
(19:51):
at one point, can say he pulled up two scores.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Lamar is awesome.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Lamar's awesome, and so if he can't stay healthy, which
that's that's everybody. But Lamar does have a history. Lamar
is Saquan right where they had so much of a history.
There's always gonna be that if they could stay healthy,
only because they weren't healthy for an extended period of time.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
I'm I'm worried about his health all the time.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
But no, I'm not worried about Lamar's health based on
anything other than the natural NFL week to week. He
just might get hit like anybody else watching him as
a quarterback who runs.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
I want him to run.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
He's he's just very strategic about when he doesn't get hit.
A couple of those guys win it.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Mahomes's legs though late. I think there was even one
flag thrown last night.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
There was one. Yeah, one was a flop, was it? Yeah,
at the very end it was a flop. But yeah,
there was one.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Mahomes flopped.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, they didn't call a flag on that one.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Overrated, I know, I know, all right, that's Tim's Sadd'll
thank you name.
Speaker 2 (20:51):

Speaker 2 (21:21):
I got it. You did first score? I bet him
first score? Was he the first touchdown? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Oh I wish I would have bet it then. Yeah,
I thought I had Nikki score. He looks weird that
he looks skinnier in that uniform.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Yeah he does. Huh.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yeah, I was gonna bet Derek Kennedy for not first touchdown.
I was gonna bet him score overall he scored. He looked,
what did you bet first touchdown or overall?
Speaker 2 (21:42):
No first touchdown? And he scored the first touchdown and
he scored the first touchdown. Holy craft, I know that's
pretty good. Yeah, I was stoked. Uh yeah. Draft Kings

coach Lance Lipold from Kansas's here's the thing currently Kansas nineteen.
All good rooting for Kansas Eyes were for Kansas because
they were never good. It's fun to watch teams that
(23:16):
were never good start to be good. You'll hear the interview.
I liked him during the interview, but listen to this.
He has a six time Division three national champion as
a coach, six time D three Coach of the Year,
two times MAC Coach of the Year when he was
at Buffalo, not the Bills, the college and their logo
is cool because it's a blue Buffalo head. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Rea, are you familiar with it from seeing it on
n Cuba Football?
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yep?
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Yeah, I think that's the Buffalo mascot, right yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Yeah. The fastest coach in nc double A history to
reach one hundred career wins. He did it in one
hundred and six games.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
That's insane.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
He led the program to their first win in almost
two years in his first game in twenty twenty two.
So they didn't win for almost like no when like
conference no, overall, that's wild. Yeah, I thought it was conference,
which I was like, I get acas.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Kansas really was bottom.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
They were that bad. Wow, oh that sucks. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Anyways, turn it's crazy he's now again. They're a top
twenty five team, and we did.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
I mention this.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
The set here has two big razor right helmets on it.
I want to be respectful. We zoomed them out. But
then I brought it up immediately because he saw us
zooming them out.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Had he never seen it. I had never said anything
about it, but he got on.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
We were talking with him and he saw zoom the
helmets out, and I was like, okay, okay, I was
taking the Arkansas helmets out because I don't want you
to be, you know, as you know, feel disrespected.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
He did follow me on.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Social media after yeah, yeah, which I thought was pretty cool.
I saw a little blue check mark. I said, landslap
Fold's following you. Then I got reached out to via
email and going, hey, can we give him your contact information?
Speaker 3 (24:55):
So it feels like the first day went well.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Dang, is it gonna be a second one? Maybe I
don't know what that means.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Put you on the team, I think yeah yeah, or
maybe we go at some point, hey you got a
buye week, we'll come up with too much accessor so yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
You know, relationships like that are pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
So here he is.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
You're going to enjoy this interview, I hope.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
So he's a six time national champion, five time Conference
Coach the Year through all the conferences. He is the
forty first head coach in Kansas football history, and this
guy builds freaking programs.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Here he is, coach Lance Sliphold.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Hey, coach, I gave you the ultimate sign of respect
before we started this interview. And I don't know if
you noticed it or not, but I zoomed in over
my I'm massive Arkansas guy, but I zoomed the helmets
out of our interview. So if I backed it, if
I backed it up a little bit, just a little
backup here, you would see them. But I didn't want
that as part of our interview because I'm such a
fan of what you're doing at the program. So as
(25:46):
respectfully as possible, welcome to the show, coach.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Well, thank you Bobby, I appreciate you doing that. I
still have a three overtime flashback that crazy. Yeah, it
was a heck of a game, but I appreciate the
opportunity to be with you.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
You know what was crazy about that game too, is
the fact that you guys came back like so hard,
so fast, and just kind of swept our legs out.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
I feel like I play on the team. Sorry goes like.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
You guys ran it hard, and for me that was
kind of the introduction of, oh, Kansas is about to
be a player.
Speaker 7 (26:19):
Now?
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Did it feel like that season for you? Like, was
that year one for you? If I'm correct?
Speaker 5 (26:25):
Year two?
Speaker 7 (26:25):
We got here at an odd time, you know, and
may really may first of twenty one, but that was
the first full season we've gotten off in twenty two
to that five and old start, and then we lost
Jalen Daniels in the in the TCU game when college
game Day was here in Lawrence for the first time,
and we got Jaalen back late in the season, and that,
by far Wood was kind of the one that, you know,
(26:47):
it kind of summed us up.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
We're close, but we weren't quite there.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
But kind of what you alluded to We're down I
don't know, three scores at halftime, and really, you know,
didn't come out and play very well. And you know,
we challenged them to say do you want this to
how do you want this season to wrap up? And
I could not have been more proud other than that
we didn't pull it out, that we we competed and
found a way because then about the next offseason, I'm
(27:11):
talking to our fan base. Okay, how many of you
left before the game was over, you know, and a
lot of them had, you know, and and a.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
True signed to keep playing good things may happen.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
My compliments to the chef and the jersey's uniforms, the
whole situation last week. I don't know, coach you picked that,
But as far as like teams coming out looking good,
I think you guys won the week.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Who's in charge? Who's in charge of what you wear?
And who picked that?
Speaker 7 (27:36):
Last week a couple of players suggested I make the
final say so I got I got my hands in
it quite a bit. And and some of the designs
we had worn that that those jerseys but with a
darker pant before and we kind of put that that
together and playing at Sporting KC at Children's Mercy Park.
(27:56):
The soccer UH stadium UH Sporting KC is light blue
and dark blue, so it was kind of a little
off of that that we played a little tribute to
the home field there.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
So big shout out there.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
You're playing another game and you're doing renovation at your stadium,
which is the greatest thing and also the worst thing
for a second, right, it sucks for a second because
it's like, oh man, we got to do and you
do you do an Arrowhead?
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Are you guys doing some? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (28:22):
Yeah, we have two at Children's Mercy which next next
Friday night we play UNLB there and then then when
we get the conference play we'll move to Arrowhead and
make that. And yeah, it's difficult, Bobby in some ways.
But a year ago we renovated our locker room and
weight room. We displaced the team. They saw the benefit
of some new facilities. And I tell you, our guys
(28:45):
have handled all the displacement.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
This year. We were displaced for almost eight months.
Speaker 7 (28:49):
Again we got into the football operations part that has
been completed. Our guys have really stayed focused. I don't
get complaining about all the income conveniences and really from
our As you know, you stay in a hotel night
for a game. Our distance to these two venues from
our hotel is really no different than it is when
(29:11):
we come back to Laurence. So our guys will, you know,
make the most of it, and I know they're really
excited to play at the home of the two time
defending Super Bowl champs.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Well, and the cool thing is that you'll have a
new stadium, right and let's just talk the business of it.
You don't get that unless you win, or unless they
feel like there's going to be some winning. You know,
as a person who is a donor and a booster
myself in places, I'm not trying to give money to
that place that sucks. I mean, that's that's how that's
the business of it. So with you actually turning the
program around, do you expect to be in the facility
(29:42):
next year, next season when it starts.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
Yes, we do.
Speaker 7 (29:46):
And right now it's about a two thirds of the
stadium project, which which has turned out to be along
with the convention center that is attached to it, at
about a four hundred and fifty million dollars price take,
along with our football operations improvement and we'll play the
twenty five season. The plan is we'll play here and
then you know, the next hope is that we'll get
(30:07):
an announcement here sooner than later that we'll tear down
the rest of the East Side and finish the stadium,
hopefully in time for the twenty sixth season and be able.
I think we'll try to play through that one because
we'll have press box, premium seating and all those things.
So you're right, this program, though it had, you know,
(30:27):
really was behind in so many ways over a decade
of struggles on the field. And with that, like you said,
boosters don't necessarily want to jump in. And really, what
this has done is shown a commitment. It has shown
that you know the things that we're behind. But we
also know in today's really higher education world, is that
(30:48):
football is more important to a university and to its
enrollment than ever before, especially in a you.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Know, not a heavily populated state like Kansas.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
Coach, I'm going to tell you what I'll and I've
watched a semi closely how you've been build on the
program over the past few years. My favorite thing is
when you became a beat Texas. I hate Texas. I
hate Texas. I hate Texas. That had to be pretty sweet.
Let's be on that game that specifically, come on. That's awesome, right?
Speaker 7 (31:15):
It was, you know, again a great job by our
coaches to keep the kids playing and our.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
Players going down there.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
We're we're a one in eight football team when we
go down there, Bobby, and we're playing with three true
freshmen in the secondary that weigh under one hundred and
seventy pounds.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
We're at a.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
Point of a year where, you know, a lot of
times and like I said, we've been here six months,
a lot of guys were checked out and just gone
through the motions and doing whatever and maybe even thinking
about a new location. And for us to go out
and play that well and play hard, that was definitely
a moment that that kind of triggered and springboard us
to where we are now.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
Jalen Daniels stepped out.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
For us and played a whale of a game and
you know, getting wins over them over Texas and Oklahoma
has also shown that this program can line it up
and play with people.
Speaker 9 (32:08):
Coach, is Week one the easiest for you guys because
you've had so much time to prepare or is it
the hardest because you really don't know what you guys
are made of yet until you actually play.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Yeah, I probably a combination.
Speaker 7 (32:22):
I think I took the easy way out, but you know,
you go through this is you know depending, you know,
you seem the different matchups across the country. In Week
one and we played a linden Wood team that's transitioning
to FCS. You know, you know, Bobby referenced our our
first year. I mean, we played South Dakota and we
(32:42):
had to come back late in the fourth to win it.
And our fans stormed the field for an FCS And
I was talking to a fraternity and I asked him
how long they've been here? This and that one guy
and goes coach either's I stormed the field against South
Dakota and I said, please.
Speaker 5 (32:58):
Don't brag about it.
Speaker 7 (33:00):
So you know, we're we're trying to schedule games that
give give a program like us a chance to build momentum.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
You go against each other from a head coach.
Speaker 7 (33:08):
I guess one thing I know I'm not very good
at is when you're scrimmaging and things don't go well,
are you good on one side of the ball and
not the other. And then if it's really neutral, are
you poor on both or you got a chance to
be good on both. And really just get to a
point in fall camp you just got to go play
someone and start getting the true evaluations and get into
these game.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Routines with all the transfers.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Just generally in college football, is there a chemistry rush
that has to happen that's never happened before, Meaning so
many new guys. We got to make them like each
other and get to know each other. So let's just
like go on a trip or something.
Speaker 5 (33:43):
You know, culture is, you know, and.
Speaker 7 (33:45):
To me, I don't know if you guys remember remember
like five years ago, grit was such a big word
and sporty, you know, grind, And.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
Now culture is big, you know, And sometimes I think
we overuse the word.
Speaker 7 (33:59):
But culture is important to every organization and and and
part of for us, it's culture's.
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Action and what are you going to do? And you know,
through the betting of you know, the portal.
Speaker 7 (34:09):
When things happen, guys, you know, those first few days,
it's fast and furious at getting guys evaluated in your
positions of need. And then then you've got to go
make some calls on backgrounds and and do they fit us?
And and sometimes for us, you know, we we came
from Buffalo and the Mac, and you know, sometimes it's
that group of five player with a chip on his
(34:29):
shoulder is a better fit for us than the SEC
guy that that didn't think he was getting a fair shot,
you know, because the work ethic to grind the unselfishness sometimes,
you know, we really want that to be part of
our program, and it is tough to get those guys
to accept. We we do a lot of things in
our off season of off season what we call culture teams,
(34:53):
and and we get points for a lot of different things.
We do talks that kind of open doors on I'm
getting to know one another. And I think one of
the things that has really happened from some of our transfers.
They talk about that when I ask them if they
like it here not just I go, don't tell me
that you like it because I'm the head coach and
you want, you know, you're trying to make me feel good.
(35:15):
I'll ask them what the difference is and they'll talk
about hanging out in the locker room. They'll talk about
older guys and younger guys hanging together. They talk about,
you know, diversity mixing and guys taking over the Western
Kansas kid and the inner city Detroit kid, whatever those
things are, and they're so important because then mutual respect
(35:36):
and understanding and common goal can really play out in
the way you want it to be. And that's really
a tribute to those guys.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
You guys are playing Illinois this weekend. I know coach
Bielma pretty well. You know his deal is he just
wants some big, old, strong, fat boys up front that
his offensive line.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
That's his story.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
How do you guys match up defensively defensive line, specifically
against that Illinois offensive line.
Speaker 7 (36:02):
Yeah, you know, I knew Brett from his times at
Wisconsin and when he was at Arkansas. When I took
the Buffalo job, I went down to Fayetteville for a
day and kind of sat down with me.
Speaker 5 (36:13):
So I consider him a friend and an excellent coach.
Speaker 7 (36:16):
And you're right, he's gonna you know, is Iowa playing
days to his Kansas State Wisconsin days. He's going to
play physical football. Probably what gets label is big ten style.
And I just told our team as we came off
the field, the more physical football team is going to
be the team probably wins on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
You know.
Speaker 7 (36:35):
All in all, we have a you know, we lost
two defensive linemen from last year that rotated a lot.
Austin Booker was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the
fifth round. Devin Phillips is a big guy that was
a transfer. In Other than that, we have the same
guys coming back. We rotate about six guys in the
interior defensive line and five to six on the outside,
and we're gonna have to rotate and make sure we
(36:57):
stay fresh and physical and that to hold up because
I anticipate that they're going to use their tight ends.
They're going to use an extra line then when they
need to, and they're going to line up and say
come stop us, and and then use play action pass
off of that to try to create exposive plays.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
Do you have music that you listen to to pump
yourself up before a game? Obviously the players do. Do
you have specific music?
Speaker 2 (37:16):
What is it now?
Speaker 5 (37:17):
I really haven't, Bobby.
Speaker 7 (37:19):
You know, I've listened to you back in the day
some and I go that I you know, I follow
a lot of country music. I have, you know, probably
a couple of guys you know that are friends and
I listen to that. But you know, I'm kind of
a guy on the bus that that kind of is
looking around going through my notes and stuff. Guys ask
me that all the time. I think I got to
come up with some some some better, some better answers
(37:41):
to this and give myself a set of headphones and go.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Do you dream scheme?
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Dream scheme?
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Yeah, like, do you in your mind?
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Are are you just doing your scheming? You know, this
game or your first conference game. Are you thinking about
it so much that your dreaming scheme?
Speaker 5 (37:59):
I guess I visual eyes, I visually.
Speaker 7 (38:01):
You know a lot of times, you know, sometimes my
wife will catch me in the summertime, on the back
end of vacation, I kind of seem to drift off
and and I might be like, you know, you're thinking
about work again, You're thinking about getting going because I
start I start playing out things in my mind of
of of camp, of season, of what what may happen
(38:24):
in that. Not not trying to get ahead of myself,
but more kind of about how things can play out
if if we take care of business in a certain way.
So I guess I do that way and talk about
getting over you know, fast starts in that but uh,
but also the what if game when when things.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Happen, you have a dream though, like you're coaching your
headsets on and the crowds all cheering and you look
down you're just in your white tidies. That sound like
that's because I mean I have that dream. I dream
two things. I dream I fail like for some reason.
I can't pass like French clas because I struggled in
college in French. And I dream that dream where you're
just naked and you know everybody's looking at you. I
don't know if you have that dream with the headset
(39:01):
and you're like, what the crap.
Speaker 7 (39:04):
I don't hope I quite got that way, but I'm
getting older and I'm afraid maybe I'll forget.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
Yeah, that's different.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
I saw that. I saw on social.
Speaker 7 (39:14):
Media you run in some routes, so you know, I
was just, you know, more checking if we could get
your eligibility checked out and see if we can make
a comeback.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Yeah, I got like one route. Then it hurts coach.
There's a difference. I'd have eligibility for one single route.
Do you like having the number beside your name?
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Coach?
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Because as a a college football fan my whole life,
as you know, I'm not accustomed to seeing Kansas with
one of those numbers beside their names.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
And here you are going into the top twenty five.
Speaker 7 (39:41):
Yeah, you know, it's it's different for a program like this,
and we've talked about it for a long time, and
that's this program has been made fun of and laughed
and punchlines and things for a long time. So I
want this group to be confident. I wanted to have
a little swagger about it because it's it's we've got
a lot of the same guys that you talked about
when we beat Texas. You know, we're the youngest Power
(40:03):
five football team in the country, we're third youngest overall,
and now we have a lot of those same guys
and it's pretty cool that they get to reap to
some of the benefits of their hard work and some
of those lumps.
Speaker 5 (40:12):
So yeah, it's different.
Speaker 7 (40:15):
It's you know, and you try to explain to them
that you want to be confident, but you can't be complacent.
And now also it's the other year, you know, you know,
it's a sellout in Champagne this week, and I told
the team today. They haven't had a sellout in since
twenty sixteen, and and there's been a lot of really
good football teams that have rolled into Champagne.
Speaker 5 (40:35):
They're coming to this one because it's you. We're a
ranked team, and they think they can beat us. So
you've got to take on being the hunted type mode
and be ready to go.
Speaker 9 (40:44):
Coach when a player of yours is having a slump
or something, you know, and they come off the field.
I've seen, you know, I've watched games where coach goes
up to them, tells us something. What can you possibly
tell a kick or a quarterback whatever, when they're in
the middle of just like not playing well, what can
you possibly tell them to make them play better?
Speaker 7 (41:01):
Well, you gotta tell them it's one play and you
gotta flush it, and then you bring it back to
to what you know, next series, what's going to happen,
Refer to plays that they've made in the past, and
and try to get them off that as quick as possible,
because you know, you can't let one play, uh, you know,
(41:22):
influencer lead to the next one that may go wrong.
And we talk about it in our program. Some guys,
you know, young men today and as mentioned social media,
is that we have so many times that we live
off highlight films, and I always say, life's not a
highlight film, unfortunately, And and and as quickly as you
can go to that, you've got to go back to
the plays to the next one, and uh, the great
(41:45):
ones do and and you've got to try.
Speaker 5 (41:47):
To shake them through and then hopefully they respond. And
I think we have a group group that.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
Will coach up you have.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
I'll be as win this weekend. I'll tell Cook Bielman
the same thing though, but I hope you will. Honest seriously,
A big fan of what you've done with the program.
One of my greatest memories that I can't admit out
loud to my family was when you guys beat Oklahoma.
We were in the car and my family they're all
ou fans, They're massive Ou fans, and we have family
that coach at o you, and they took the game
(42:15):
for granted so much that they didn't even watch the
first part of the game. And they come in and
they turned like the radio one there's an update of
the score, and they're like, wait what And inside I
laughed inside like it was a real joyous moment for
me that I couldn't go outward with. But I appreciate
you forgiving me that memory, coach, and that's I just
want to say that.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
Well, thanks, I tell you it's it's amazing.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
And that's kind of what I was mentioned before about
what a program when when you turn what it does
and the people not just like yourselves, but the loyal
season ticket holder that has set through a lot of
tough days here and all those things, and you know,
the OU win and the Texas wins.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
You go somewhere and somebody.
Speaker 7 (42:56):
Is always kind of mentioning those as a moment of pride,
whether they like the Jayhawks or not.
Speaker 5 (43:01):
So you're most welcome.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Yeah, thank you, Hey Texas. And I don't like it
all My family has a team that wins and I don't.
So it was two perfect, perfect days, coach. Thank you,
good luck this weekend and hopefully we'll see you soon.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
Doun's good. Thank you very much. Rock Dark.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
Okay, we're here.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
It's signed for the parlay.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Look at the end of this, we're gonna give you
one single game that we feel good about. I really
started strong with it with three gamers, then I really
got weak. It's like I got the flu and it
takes a while to build back. Yeah, you know, it's
like you're working out in the gym and you're crushing it.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
I'm on DraftKings. I'm like, I'm parleying out out of
my mind.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Then it gets the flu and then you feel you're
not doing well and then you then you can't only
bench press near what you could. You have no cardio,
so you're trying to build back. That's what I'm right now,
Like I'm over the flu, I'm trying to slowly build back.
So I got my I got my three games.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
The NFL games here you ready, yep? What's going to beat?
Do you know what the game?
Speaker 3 (43:56):
I just can't. It's the Vikings and Giants.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
Like you don't want to watch or you can't wait both,
but I just want to pick it.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
But it's like they both suck. I know, but really,
who sucks week one?
Speaker 2 (44:15):
That's why everybody's so skittish about these lines. All the sharps,
they're so skittish about week one because who knows. Okay,
here's all we do. We're gonna go. We're gonna go
Cowboys money line over the Browns.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Even than the Browns are the favorite.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Don't tell me.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
I don't take Risks Cowboys money line. We're gonna go.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Bengals minus eight and a half. It's messed up.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
I know.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
Sorry, dude, you know you suck it. Messed up.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
Man.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
No, that's okay, but you know you suck it's it's hard,
but you want a much championship, so just suck it up.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
I want that Vikings Giants game.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
I just want it.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
I know I shouldn't even walk near it.
Speaker 4 (45:10):
Do it.
Speaker 6 (45:11):
Sam Darnold going back to met life.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
No, I know, I just shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
Yeah, the problem is he's playing the Giants and not
the Jets. You know, he's not like angry at the seats.
He's angry it's the wrong team. He's like, I'm gonna
go Vikings money line. The game is it's a one
point game anyway, it's probably like one one and a half.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
So I'm going Vikings.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
But put that third.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Some people said, I don't want them to think I
started with the Vikings.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
I'm going Bengals minus eight and a half. Cowboys money line,
Vikings money line. I should never bet. I should never
touch the Vikings, period, but I'm going to because they're
playing the Giants.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
If you want to take the twenty five busters parlay.
Speaker 7 (45:51):
Get on.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
My flu is getting better. I feel pretty good. I'm
started to get healthy.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
I can feel like You can.
Speaker 1 (45:55):

Speaker 2 (46:41):
Let's go to NFL.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
What I want to know from each of you and
read you may not have an answer since you don't
really watch sports. I got an answer, man, you didn't
know the question.
Speaker 2 (46:48):
No, I don't exactly.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Tay, you can do a personal bias one, because again,
we have New York Casey who's a Jets fan. We
have Kevin who loves paid, we have Reid who loves
hot dogs going to the game. What are you looking
forward to most about this weekend as far as what
the NFL.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Is this year meaning rookies, teams.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
That are different because a certain personnel, Like, what's exciting
to you this year?
Speaker 2 (47:21):
This this week? Excuse me, let's go personal bias first,
New York Casey, just if my.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Jets can stay healthy? But is this one week tell
you that? Or is that well that's better than last year?
Speaker 10 (47:32):
I mean, I guess it's yeah, It's it's just hard
because last year was just like I was, there was
so many high expectations like there is this year. God, dude,
that was crazy and the way that it just all
went down and then it was just back to Zach
Wilson again. And it's the whole thing with Sala and
it was just so I am just I'm just praying
for some kind of stability.
Speaker 6 (47:49):
Really. I mean, I gotta be honest.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
I am not a Jets fan, but I think you
and I relate, and we have teams that don't win, right,
and we don't want to lose.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
It hurts us when we lose. We don't expect to lose,
but kind of we do.
Speaker 6 (48:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
Yeah, Like Arkansas's playing Oklahoma State this weekend.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
This is not a college segment, but I don't expect
to lose, but kind of it's like they're Okami's supposed
to win. They're a touchdown favorite. I'm gonna be heartbroken
if Arkansas loses, but I don't expect to lose. But
if they do, I'm gonna be sad, But I'm also
gonna go like, yeah, what did you expect?
Speaker 6 (48:21):
Yeah, they might tease you and you think they're gonna win.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
And then you know.
Speaker 3 (48:24):
So I'm like, I feel you on a very deep
emotional level.
Speaker 2 (48:27):
One. If Aaron Rodgers just makes it through one.
Speaker 10 (48:29):
Week, I'll be thrilled because yeah, we'll be seeing him
in Tennessee, so that'll be that'll be great.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
Thinking back about watching that game and watching him get hurt,
and we've talked about it and made little jokes and
like can you believe it? And it's become a larger
story and like the history of sports where dude, that
I remember just happening and being like that sucks. I
had friends over, I mean I had like a party
for one, Yeah, for Jets fans, for NFL fans, for
Rogers haters, for Packers fans to rout it like that
(48:59):
was really one of the more tragic on field sports things. Yeah,
There's been a lot of Jet moments in my life,
but that might be the Jet moment, especially with the
whole flag thing that you brought up last week that.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Ye give me your bias, Kevin. Mine is the Patriots defense.
We've talked about that offensive line a lot, but the
defense actually has some players on that side of the ball.
Bar More's out, it looks like he's gonna be out
for the rest of the year. But we get Gonzalez back,
we got Jabill Peppers still and some other guys. Our
defense was pretty good last year. But then it's the
(49:32):
old as Casey knows, how much can the defense take
before it's like, all right, offense, we can't do this anymore.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
Yeah, And like there's obvious resentment. Yeah, like, oh my god,
we gave up fourteen points and we still lost. Exactly,
we only gave up fourteen points and we still lost.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
Yeah. So I'm anxious to see, especially this week, Week
one against the Bengals. That's gonna be a tough one
right out of the gate. So anxious to see how
they come out.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Do you have any bias about this week anything you're
really like looking into personally?
Speaker 11 (49:56):
Well, you know, I would love to see the Titans
do good just for the sake of Nashville. I like
that a new stadium, the new stadium coming out. You know,
they got a new offense.
Speaker 3 (50:04):
The new stadiums like years and years away.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
You think it's already built.
Speaker 11 (50:08):
No, to be honest, I just found out that they
were building the stadium. I drove by.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
I was like, man, what is that? Oh you're you
see where they're breaking?
Speaker 7 (50:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Yeah, oh that's cool.
Speaker 7 (50:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
So I'd be cool on the Titans front, Like I'm
anxious to see what like Pollard and Spears do, Like
what's happening there new head.
Speaker 6 (50:23):
Coach Calvin Ridley too.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Yeah, really's gonna be interesting because we I thought it'd
be really good last year Jack struggled a bit.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
Uh Ridley's probably he probably not using DraftKings too much anymore.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
But it's weird to root for a receiver to do
well because Tennessee just hasn't been able to use receivers.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
I mean A. J.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
Brown was really the last one that was super productive.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
Not that they weren't good ones, because Hawkins is still
pretty good, a little older but still can be good. Obviously,
Calvin Ridley can be really good but wasn't really utilized
to probably his skin set ceiling in Jacksonville last year.
Trevor Lawnce was hurt a bit. And then here you're like, well,
it's just gonna be the same crap because it's the
(51:07):
Titans and they don't throw the ball, but maybe they
do now new coach, new philosophy, but.
Speaker 3 (51:11):
The quarterbacks not. Levis isn't a rookie.
Speaker 1 (51:14):
He's got an arm though, but his current his girlfriend
now is my buddy's ex girlfriend, and he's like, my
buddy's like, oh boy.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
It's like oh boy.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
He's like he's like, don't bet on the Titans, okay,
So and then my personal one is going to be
cowboy related. I am not a cowboy fan. I am
not a Cowboy hater though anymore. Eddie's not here for
this part of it, so I'll do a Cowboy win
in Eddie's honor. I bet the Cowboys to win the
Super Bowl. Not really because I thought they would most
I just want to fit them the guys, so I think.
(51:47):
I bet like fifteen hundred bucks win, I think, and
if I win, I win ten million or something. It's
like the odds of that bad. So it's Dak in
his contract year. That's gonna be dramatic obviously all year long.
Uh Seed, he just signed his deal. What's gonna be
fun is to watch CD be the only offensive weapon
they have, yeah, for real, and he'll either go absolutely
(52:08):
bonkers and have one of the greatest receiving seasons in
the past ten years, or get hurt and the Cowboys
will have no offense at all. It'll be very Jets esque,
except their best player that's hurt is a wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
I'm looking forward to seeing what the Cowboys can do.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
Our boy Cooper Cooper who yeah bb yeah who.
Speaker 1 (52:29):
So Casey Cooper byby was all American guard at Kansas State. Okay,
we went up and did Kansas State too much access
and worked out with him.
Speaker 2 (52:37):
Love Cooper.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
We still message on Instagram sometimes he got dropped by
the Cowboys and like the third I believe and we're
super pumped for him. He's gonna be starting at center.
He's never played center.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
Oh wow, that's awesome. I'm ninety percent sure.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
He's starting at center if you want to look that up.
But he's never played center. But I'm so happy for
that's awes the fact that he's going to be a cowboy, Like,
regardless of all your from, if you get to be
like a cowboy, a forty nine or a brand, a stealer,
a packer, that's really cool.
Speaker 6 (53:07):
Special.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Yeah, starting he's starting to Yep, I'm gonna mess Zach Martin.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
I'm gonna message it.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
What's up right next to Zach Martin? A message today.
I'm so happy for him. So that's personal to me,
Like I want to see the Cowboys win, Mike. I
know that your team, you want to see him, you
always want to see him. You want a cowboy hat now.
Speaker 2 (53:23):
But I'm agreeing with you. We have nothing besides ceedee
lamb it. What's he good to do?
Speaker 1 (53:26):
Like Brandy Cooks was supposed to be good, like as
a Texan that he was their guy, but then Texans
went Texan before now they went to the pseudo Texan.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
And they could be good.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
But so that's my personal. Okay, we're personal. Now take
all personal out NFL Week one. What interests you that
you're not close to New York Casey.
Speaker 10 (53:51):
Well, I'm looking at one game in particular, which I
feel like could be you know, we're all sitting down
watching red zone, Scott Hansen's doing his thing, and there's
gonna be like that one game that cut to in
the fourth quarter that's actually super close and it was
not supposed to be close. I think Cardinals at Bills
is actually going to be like a kind of a
sneaky game here. I mean, the spread is mindus six
and a half. Actually think the Cardinals I could just
(54:12):
see that game being one of those you know, field
goal in the last couple seconds thing. And I'm just
curious to see Marvin Harrison. I just feel like Kyler
Murray is just like bound to have a rebound kind
of season here. And I just don't also think that
the Bills, you know, with this whole you know, new
setup here, it could probably take a little while for
them to get going, and this could be, like, you know,
the perfect opportunity of the Cardinals to seize the moment.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
I's a couple of great points. The first great point
is I do think the Cardinals will be better. They
have no choice to be better. Kyler Murray was out
a bunch last year, right.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
He's good. Let's not forget what Kyler Murray is on.
He's freaking awesome.
Speaker 10 (54:47):
And it's Buffalo in September, so you know, I got
to worry about it being freezing, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (54:51):
So and there and any of the camp reports or
any of the guys that aren't even like the local
beat guys, but like the national guys, the rapaports that
travel and have been with Arizona. They're like Marvin Harrison
Junior is ready made. Like he's not a rookie who's
going to go and be a bit hot and cold.
He's ready made. So you gotta think Marvin here, they
(55:14):
have a tight end. Well last year, let's not act
like he's been really good for a long time, but
last year really productive season. I think Arizona's gonna be
pretty good, and I think the Bills Josh Allen obviously
top tier, but who's he gonna throw it to? He's
(55:36):
got two tight ends? Did the Patriots ever have anybody
want I'm gonna go back to you, did the Patriots
that have any extra y guys that could stretch the
field when Gronk and Aaron Hernandez were playing, No, and
I don't count any of the like the high energy
white guys that played Sad Branch days and okay, so
(55:56):
brand medium, but they didn't have like a fly, So
you know, they did the two tight ends pretty well.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Yeah, we're the middle of the field.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
Ye, the Buffalo is going to have to do that.
But I think that's what I like that that game
will probably I'm gonna about it. I betting the Cardinals
plus six and a half. They only based off New York.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
Casey's there too, so he's driving off on you already.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
Oh that's just a good point because both of them.
I do think Arizona's going to be better. We just
associate them with sucking because they sucked. Man, they were
the worst, and because they didn't have a quarterback, they
had nobody on the outside right.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Like who was and then James Connor I think was
up and down as far as health goes.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
And also James Connor was the only when he was healthy,
all they had to do was like watch James Connor.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
Yeah, because they had nobody to throw it to, nobody
to throw it. I like that game. If you talk
me into that and I lose, I'm about to be pissed,
But I like it.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
I like I like it all right, Kevin, I'm gonna
go to the battle in Florida, Jaguars and Dolphins. A
lot of headlines coming in for both of these teams
to everything. You're here and look, he looks all skinny
and he looks in shape. Everyone saying he too skinny.
I mean, Lamar didn't look too skinny last night.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
No, but Lamar always looks stand and Lamar did drop
like twenty five pounds.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
That's right. Yeah, we'll see. I mean, can you keep healthy?
And what is that offense gonna do? They lost some
guys on defense too, But then the Jags, it's like
they're about as low as they've been in a couple
of years now. So can Trevor Lawrence get back up
there to what he was coming into last year?
Speaker 3 (57:18):
Even I'm riding high in the Jags.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
A little bit because of the division they play in
as well that I'm right high in the Jags, but
Miami's going to be really good too.
Speaker 3 (57:30):
I hope both teams feel good after the game.
Speaker 1 (57:32):
I hope they all feel positive fun because there has
to be a loser, because I don't think Baltimore leaves
last night going maybe we're not as good as we
thought because they played really well a week one nobody played.
Speaker 3 (57:43):
It wasn't a perfect game, but they played well they could.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
They almost won the freaking game, beat the defending champs,
and Baltimore's gonna have a great season. So I hope
whomever loses nose they're still in it. You guys, keep
your heads up. Hopefully they listen to this because I
think both of those teams can. Actually, I think the
Dolphins can win. I think they can win the East.
Speaker 6 (58:03):
It's possible.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
You know, you're Jets fan, think the Jets can as well.
Speaker 8 (58:07):
I think it's wide open. The Patriots are coming. They're not,
but the others I agree. But I also I like
both of the the Doug Peterson things interesting interested me,
like if he's going to be the Doug Peterson that
I feel like he kind of is only because of
his success in Philly, then this is the year it
has to happen. He doesn't get a third year to
(58:29):
come and be like, I'm still rebuilding.
Speaker 6 (58:31):
You don't get three Yeah.
Speaker 10 (58:32):
And I saw a wild stat that I think he's
only had one one season with over ten wins and
it was the year that they won the Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (58:38):
Every other year.
Speaker 3 (58:39):
See, I've been affected by.
Speaker 6 (58:41):
But I like Peterson too, Like I didn't even think about.
Speaker 1 (58:43):
The Russian Bots. I've convinced me he's always been good. Yeah, right,
the Russian Bots And.
Speaker 2 (58:48):
That was like what seven years ago now, yeah, Carson.
But then also he followed.
Speaker 1 (58:53):
Urban Meyer, right, and so we're the juxtaposition of that
was Doug Peterson's awesome coach Efrock.
Speaker 6 (58:59):
Yeah, I did.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
I do have an urban Meyer signed all black Ohio
state helmet in my house that I want.
Speaker 3 (59:06):
It's pretty cool. It's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (59:08):
And never mind I don't like him, I'd love to
have him with my coach, Like as a person, I
don't feel like he's a good person.
Speaker 3 (59:13):
I love to have him as my coach because I
like to win and.
Speaker 2 (59:16):
I don't ever get to win oh at Arkansas.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
Yeah, or just in life.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Okay, I don't know about life, coach, you know, am
I gonna win?
Speaker 1 (59:23):
Though? But it's like even at Florida like shady yeah,
and shady in the way of like, hey, maybe I don't.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
I don't want to know about anything as long.
Speaker 2 (59:33):
As my guys are there and we're playing and we're winning.
All good.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Because that documentary The Swamp Kings was not a good
look for Urban Meyer. But do you guys agree, did
you just feel the same way, Like after watching it,
you're like, yeah, I was right, but my not that
good of a dude. But I think he's just a guy,
I should say, not that good of a dude. He's
just a guy whose priorities were different. He wants to win.
He was there to win, and he was able to
allow some of the stuff that would keep you from winning.
Speaker 3 (59:55):
I don't know integrity morals.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
To but if that's your the thing, the greats in
anything have to slip throats sometimes. But I would like
to having with my coach. I don't like him, I'd
like him with my coach. Okay, yeah, yeah, Okay, So
for me, I'm torn between a game nobody cares about
(01:00:16):
and I guess I can do whatever I want my
name on the show. I hope to God the Panthers
can be okay, Yeah, I really hope they can play
near five hundred ball that I like Bryce Young a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Maybe it's because we spent time with him and met him,
and he's little, and it's.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Like we root for people who we feel like are
like us. It's part of why people love Caitlyn Clark.
She's really good, obviously, and if she wasn't so dynamic,
it would it matter. But and she shoots from what
but she has to that skill. But she's also just
like she's not super tall. There's nothing about her physically
that you go and in a sport that's dominated mostly
(01:00:55):
by non white people, when there's somebody white good at basketball,
you're like, what is happening? Yeah, like, how's that white good?
And most white people that are good now are the
good kind the foreign?
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
Yeah, because foreign the foreign white people are way better.
Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Than American white people.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Yeah, we suck.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
And so she's like an American white person and you're like, huh,
they're not that good?
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
How's she good? So same thing with Bryce Young?
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Small, nice, like wholesome, and like I root for him,
but that ownership is so bad, like nobody's gonna win.
Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
I get it. Luke Keickley, you one of the greatest ever.
I had to quit too. Yeah. Yeah, he's just like,
you know what, I'm probably.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
One of the greatest linebackers in the history of the game.
I'm gonna go and limit my career because here, all
I'm gonna do is get CTE and no one's ever
gonna hear me, and I have other lot.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
Of things to do. I get it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
Luke Kickley, I didn't and he and he didn't want
to be the guy that was like I demand a
trade because that's just not his personality. So the Panthers,
it's Panthers plus for the Saints. I'm I want the
Panthers to win some games and not be the laughing
stock again because I want Bryce Young to succeed.
Speaker 6 (01:02:07):
Yeah, Deontay Johnson just came on board.
Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
So what does that even mean?
Speaker 6 (01:02:10):
Though, I mean, at.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Least it's it's not Adam Feeling, you're right and Adam
Thin No, you're right. No offense Adam Feeling. He's older
and at times he was the number one.
Speaker 6 (01:02:18):
Yeah right, yeah, you need him to be the number two.
Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
Hopefully you know what.
Speaker 7 (01:02:23):
Yet.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Yeah, yeah, the old veteran in the locker room presence.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Yeah right, who can still be a possession receiver?
Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:02:29):
So so the Bryce Young, the Caitlin Clark, the relatable.
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
By the way, Bryce Young Kalaucker is so much more
athletic than we could ever be, and they're not relatable
at all.
Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
Yeah right, yeah, so I want Caroline.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
The other one for me is going to be on
a more that people will care about that and it's
the Jets and forty nine Ers game, So this is
not one that I'm close to.
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
But Aaron Rodgers is fun.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
But Luke McCaffrey, and Luke is already by the way,
he may play, Yeah, who does he play with the Commanders?
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
No commanders.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
He may actually be the third guy possibly getting some two,
which is wild.
Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
It's a quarterback and they transferred to not transferred switch positions,
and also did transfer to I think schools. Yeah, he
may actually be somebody that produces in Washington.
Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
Second string right behind McLaurin. Yeah, but he's white, so
he's got to play in the midle let's be honest. True.
Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
So the McCaffrey that we all know and love Christian,
what's up with the hamstring?
Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Like, that's a tough one and I've only ever danged
my hamstring. And I don't know if you guys know this,
I'm not near the athlete that Christian McCaffrey is really, right, Yeah,
that thing is hard to get back to normal. And
at some point, I'm sure everybody deals with injuries. And
if you get that injury in week fourteen, it's probably
different than week one.
Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
Where do you hold out?
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Like Kelsey last year? Remember he missed the first game
with Detroit? How much the four Nators actually use him?
If it's a little ding because you don't want to
ding it and then ding it harder, and then the
whole year he's dealing with it. So do you limit
him weeks one and two hoping he can bounce? Do
you not play him at all? Is is it really nothing?
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
And because really nobody plays in preseason, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
Actually better and they just have held study of he
had a little hamsterring issue. It's I'm curious to see
if McCaffrey is running wide open because if so, the
forty nine ers are gonna be freaking awesome again. If not,
they're gonna be good. But that whole thing revolved. It's
it's yeah, that's McCaffrey's through him.
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
Yep, totally pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
Pretty good, Yeah, party, party good, pretty good?
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Are you good? Yeah? For sure?
Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
A really really good receiver, Kittle, awesome blocker good, tied
end debo, really good. But all those people are to
be able to be so much better because everybody has
to watch McCaffrey all the time. It's like a great
three point shooter, create eating space for everybody else in
the NBA if you have somebody like a Kaitlin Clark.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
The reason that the Fever can I love Kayla Clark.
I just my favorite athlete. She's my favorite athlete because
she's like.
Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
Me except for the athletic part. Yeah, it's like so normal.
Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
The reason that Kaitlyn Clark and the reason the Fever
can win games now, she opens the floor up so much.
Just why she has ten twelve fourteen assists a game.
There's so much space now because they've got to wherever
she has. They had to have somebody out on her,
which allows Eleah Boston to do her thing. They can't
now double team Elea Boston inside. Heck, they got two
people watching KAITLINN.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Clark.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
So McCaffrey is that Kaitlyn Clark like they have. They
can't give him any space. I gotta have two people
on them, which is opening it up for all those
other guys, the forty nine ers. They they this could
be their year if McCaffrey can stay healthy. And parties
playing for a contract, Yeah, I think this is.
Speaker 6 (01:05:51):
Really their last time to do it. With this rendition
of the teams, I.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Think so to they're gonna run out of money. Yeah,
because parties party on a rookie deal.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Yeah, it's funny to see all those other guys getting paid, paid, paid, paid,
even Trent Williams just now and then now Party's like
making nine hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Crazy, And you know, I like it because before they
put in the rookie scale, like when it like Sam Bradford,
ye oh, it was in JaMarcus Russell, they were just
they're like, here's one good jillion dollars and good luck.
(01:06:25):
So but now it's all scaled out based on where
they're drafted, which is why party makes thirty eight since
the game the last man drafted. Yes, but a party's
gonna get paid. Party makes a lot of money. Yeah,
not just from that, but he is in commercials now
yeah yeah yeah, So it's fine. Quickly, we'll run we'll
run it down real quick. I'm not gonna do the
(01:06:45):
spreads on every on any of the games. I'm just
gonna pick the winners here. We'll just all say the winner. Okay, okay,
h Packers and Eagles.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
This is tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
If it's a Friday, this is tonight in Brazil. What
a miserable game to have to go play one. You
gotta travel all the way down there too. They're like,
don't wear green, you'll for sure get shot as both
teams are green and every piece of clothing they have
is green. And then three, they're like, you don't get
to like go out and do stuff in town.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
Yeah, don't leave your hotel room.
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
Yeah, it's not like the UK to play there Germany,
you're not having some down at the salle Kraut party.
Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
This is like nothing you did. Don't leave your hotel.
That's terrible. Uh, Packers at Eagles. But in Brazil, I'm
gonna go.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Eagles.
Speaker 6 (01:07:26):
Casey me too, Reeds.
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
I'll go Packers then, because for sure the Packers were
gonna win. Yep, if we all flow exactly, will you
keep Italian this? See how we did Steelers, the Falcons,
these are all just straight up Uh. I'm gonna go Falcons,
which is weird because the Falcons have sucked, but let's go,
let's go. I'm so excited for Kyle Pits to matter.
Like getting the ball we have Kirk Cousins can throw
(01:07:50):
on the wall is crazy. Drake London might actually be good,
and not because he's not good, but because somebody can
actually allow him to be good. Yeah, I'm going Falcons.
Go ahead, casey, Yeah, I think Falcons too. It's in
the dome also, so I feel like that benefits.
Speaker 6 (01:08:05):
Them a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
Read yep, Falcons. Okay are you just reading? I need
to know why you're picking teams?
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
Read?
Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
Is it because if we say, buddy, I love you, No,
I just you know.
Speaker 11 (01:08:14):
The only two things is you know what I'm saying.
They're supposed to win by three and a half points
and they're playing at Falcons.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
Just making sure you're not just picking because no, no, no, no,
I'm going Falcons too. Okay, Well, congrats Steelers, yep, you
just want Cardinals at Bills. This is I think we're
probably all going to pick the Bills here, but I
do think it would be cool for the Cardinals to
look pretty good.
Speaker 6 (01:08:36):
We all Bills, yep, I think so.
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
Yeah. Titans at Bears, Rady, you go Fro.
Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
I'm going Titans.
Speaker 6 (01:08:44):
I'm going to go against the Green too and pick
the Tightans.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
I am too.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
Yeah, I'm going Titans.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
I'm going Bears.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Patriots Bengals, You're not You're not Homer and I no, okay,
all Bengals.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Yeahs.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Texans a Colts. That's an interesting game to me. It
is in Indy.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Texans are still three point favorite, but we're not. We're
not doing spread here. Texans at Colts, I'm going Colts.
I think the Texans are gonna have a pretty good year,
but I think there's so much the Texans are next
up to be the champs.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
I think it may be a bit too much too fast.
I'm going Colts.
Speaker 10 (01:09:22):
I feel you on that, but I know Colts are
like horrible on game ones I think in the last
ten years or something like that, so I think that
trend is going to continue.
Speaker 6 (01:09:29):
So I'm gonna go Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:09:31):
It'll be fun to watch Anthony Richard again, because it
was really fun to watch him for a few games.
Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Also, it was fun to go, dang, dude, you just
got crushed. That's what that's like. Seven times? Yeah, why
did he not get down? Why did he lower his head?
That's awesome? And then it's like, oh, he's done. Not
a good idea because I loved it, like he was
going at people.
Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
Yep, read I'm gonna go Texans just because I love C. J.
Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
Stroud Man.
Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
Okay, I drafted him last night. You didn't draft him.
Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
I don't love that draft loser. We gotta talk about
that draft loser. Go ahead, Kevin, I'm going Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
Jags Dolphins. It's in Miami.
Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
But luckily for the Jags, that's like, I don't know,
three blocks down the road.
Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
Yeah, they can walk.
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
They don't have to take a bus, they just walk
down to the other stage. Jags Dolphins. I'll let you go,
o casey.
Speaker 6 (01:10:14):
I think the Dolphins are gonna pull this one out.
Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
Dolphins, Kevin, Dolphins, give me the Jacks.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
I let things influence me that I don't even know
are influenced me.
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
I'm be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
I'm rooted for the Jags.
Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
Right. Here's what influenced me, and I didn't consciously do it.
I went heavy on Trevor Lawrence rookie cards when he
had a bad year.
Speaker 3 (01:10:36):
On purpose.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
I got him.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
The Trevor Lawrence stock market went way down, so I
bought a ton whalow and I'm ready for him to
bounce back so I can be rich.
Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
Let's go, Let's go.
Speaker 4 (01:10:47):
What read?
Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Oh no, that's great, I love it.
Speaker 10 (01:10:52):
Panther Saints, I think, yeah, oh no, go ahead. Well,
I was just gonna say I think the Saints are
going to be really bad this year. I don't really
see it. They're very old team.
Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Where was the improvement?
Speaker 6 (01:11:03):
No improvement?
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
Tind to forget about them?
Speaker 10 (01:11:04):
Yeah, sound again, it's still there. I think he's gonna
be the first coach fired. I feel like that's probably
a bet on DraftKings or something like that. But anyway, yeah,
so I actually think the Panthers are going to go
in there and take care of business.
Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
You really sad. Bet if you see your name on
a list of like if you get it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
If it's a story.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
People have to write stories for clicks but if you
literally see a bet, it's like people can place money
on you losing your job.
Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
If we did that, what if we did that, I
know now that would be sad.
Speaker 1 (01:11:31):
I was like, oh man, cause again you understand the game.
They're gonna write stories. They're always gonna be stories up,
stories down. But if you literally see a monetary bonus
to somebody for you losing.
Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
It, I would be a little sad at that. I'm
not gonna lie. Okay, you go. I'm gonna go Panthers
as well.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
No he went Saints. No, I just don't hear anybody
picking the Panthers ever.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
That's what's crazy. I think it bounced off.
Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
It's like to North and North Magnets, Kevin, I'm gonna
go Saints.
Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go Panthers just because I'm you
can do it boys.
Speaker 4 (01:12:06):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
Kamara catches a lot of checkdown balls like in Fantasy.
I thought he was every service hadn't rated a little
too low because he almost was suspended last year the legue.
So if he never I don't think he was suspended.
Was he nothing significant that we no? I guess I
thought he was hurt last year did he do? He
did serve suspension last year, but he catches so many balls.
(01:12:31):
One because he can catch, but two because they can't throw, right.
Speaker 6 (01:12:35):
Just thinking they can't throw.
Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
Yeah, three games plus year?
Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
Okay, Raiders, Chargers, I'm Charger and yeah I gotta go
Chargers too.
Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Yeah, I'll go Chargers.
Speaker 11 (01:12:45):
I have no idea for that one, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
You were out there. Oh yeah he met Dick or
the kicker. Yeah yeah, and.
Speaker 11 (01:12:52):
They're and they're you know, they're supposed to win by three, so.
Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Maybe he'll is that too much exces when I was
done to we do that next week?
Speaker 11 (01:12:57):
Yeah, that's what I was telling, uh, telling Kevin over
here for vo Oh cool, let's do it, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
Yeah, I'm gonna go Chargers too. We went over the
Giants Vikings, did we That's what screwed me. I'll go Vikings.
Speaker 6 (01:13:14):
Uh yeah, I go Vikings. Do I can't pick the Giants.
Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
Mm hmm yeah Vikings?
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Ok, No one even cares school Okay all Vikings, Okay quickly.
Broncos Seahawks, oh Man, Seahawks are big favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
I'll go Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (01:13:32):
I think the Broncos get better as a year goes Okay, yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:13:34):
Exactly, that's how I feel too. Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
I'm gonna go Broncos just because hey, why not?
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
Just why not? You know?
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
Yeah, Seahawks, Cowboys, Browns, Brown's are favorite. I'm taking the Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (01:13:48):
Yeah, I gotta go Cowboys too.
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
Tom Brady's first game in the colin Oh, that's the game.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
I don't know that that's the game he's playing for
the Browns.
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Playing for the and Chubb will not play first four
weeks read I'm gonna go Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Ken Ah, I'm going Browns.
Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
Oh of course.
Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
Hater Commander's Bucks.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
That's interesting.
Speaker 6 (01:14:11):
Yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
I just don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
The Commanders in my mind suck because they've just sucked
for so long. So I'm gonna go Bucks. But I
can be I do think the Commanders will end up playing.
It was like my hot hot take that they could
possibly win the division. But I'm gonna go Bucks early
because I think Game one rookie quarterback, he doesn't have
all the weapons that Caleb Williams has, So I'm gonna
go Bucks. And Baker's he got one hundred million bucks,
(01:14:34):
so good for him.
Speaker 6 (01:14:36):
Yeah, I agree, And it's it's home for the Bucks.
Speaker 10 (01:14:38):
After that awesome year last year, I could see the
momentum from that carrying over for a win.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
Awesome. They did want a playoff game.
Speaker 6 (01:14:44):
All yeah, and they almost beat Detroit to smoke the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
Go Bucks, Yeah, Bucks all around.
Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
Two games left, Rams, Lions, guys. The line, the Rams
are gonna be good this year. Yeah, I'm talking the
Rams are gonna be good. And they make it beat
by the Lions, but the Rams are gonna be good
this year. And Stafford was my like it was like
thirty five hundred plus started five hundred to be MVP.
So I bet I think Stafford's gonna be really good
this year. I'm gonna, you know what, I'm going Rams,
(01:15:11):
because I think the Lions deserve to be lioned like
they did the Chiefs last year.
Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
I think we're gonna see a.
Speaker 1 (01:15:19):
Little bit of that at home and everything, because everybody's
given the everyod's annoying the Lions already, and they're they're
gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
The Lions.
Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
Their roster stacks up against anybody in the NFL, right,
I mean, Golf isn't a top five quarterback, but he's
a top twelve quarterback, and he's good. But everywhere I
mean they're they're really good. Like, uh one, Rossie Brown's
got all his ribs back, which is nice. We evenew
he's missing like four ribs when he played last year.
(01:15:49):
He played and he still played really well. Read he
wasn't really missing ribs. He had an injury that we
didn't really know a severe.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
For a second there, I was I was like, wow,
really that's impressive. Yeah, I'm gonna go. I'll go against
the Grand and go ram I'm gonna stick with the
Lions for this one.
Speaker 11 (01:16:03):
I'm gonna go Lions just because I love watching Eminem
get so pumped up about a boy Detroit.
Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
Yeah boy, yeah, Kevin, I'm gonna go Lions. Final game
Jets and forty nine ers. Forty nine ers or four
and a half point favorite, what's I thought it might
be a little more than that because they the Jets
do have to fly all the way to San Francisco
and they are flying southwest with two connections.
Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
So they will be tired.
Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
First class, no first class, and no direct and that's
the worst I'm gonna have to go forty nine ers.
I really want to pull the trigger on the Jets.
I'm gonna go forty nine.
Speaker 6 (01:16:36):
Ers, j Ets all the way.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
I'm gonna go Jets for my guy over here.
Speaker 6 (01:16:40):
Thank you, thank you, my guy over here.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Yeah, forty nine ers. All right, that's a little preview.
That's it.
Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
That's all the games, Thank you all. As far as
like college football, we.
Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
Won't do that whole thing again. The fun games are
Michigan and Texas.
Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
That's fun.
Speaker 1 (01:16:54):
Week two games get a little better. Week one get
Most of those games suck. But Arkansas Colomba State, that's
a personal game for me. I think Arkansas. I would bet.
I would encourage you to bet Arkansas plus the touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Yeah, it's a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
It's a lot. Unless I'm just so, I wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
I would.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
If somebody came up to me and said, hey, I
don't know you and I don't care about Arkansas, and
I would like to have a bet that wins.
Speaker 3 (01:17:24):
What did you bet Arkansas plus the points?
Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
I would say yes, So I would bet Arkansas plus
seven or the seven and a half. It may actually
get a drop drop a little bit, so probably get
it at seven if you can. That'll be a fun game.
Tennessee North Carolina State's two top twenty five teams. Yeah,
Tennessee big favorite at n C State, they'll run them,
(01:17:46):
I think, I think, yeah, I do. And then the
Oregon Boise State game is not so much like two powerhouses,
but it's like, what's what's up Oregon?
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Like last week was weird.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
It's a fun one.
Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
No, but last week one by ten and they played
Idaho and the only Gabriel threw for four hundred yards
basically with a bunch of but the game it was
not a blowout, and it was never a game where
you thought they were gonna lose, but it was just weird.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
So Organ's a nineteen and a half point favorite. I
would load up on that if it's Organ.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Yes, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (01:18:25):
Oregon has something to prove now, just to get everybody
to get back to even and to shut up. I
would load up on Oregon nineteen and a half.
Speaker 7 (01:18:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:33):
You kind of feel bad for Boys of State just
and they're in Eugene.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Yeah, the games I'm gonna load up on. This is
my one bet. So this is one you can hold
me accountable before everybody. Everybody out there, and you hold
me accountable because sometimes it will be like you all
lost money on your parlay, bro, I don't. I wouldn't
do it through three person parlay three every week, yeah
or maybe some weeks. But Draggings like we do parlays
and I'm like, yeah, I like parlays, but some weeks
I don't feel that great about them.
Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
Oregon minus nineteen and a half. That's the winner.
Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
You heard me say it, and if it ends up
