Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's good everybody. Welcome to the tenth Jordan Porter Podcast.
Where is time going? It is Tuesday, December twenty two,
thousand twenty two. Do you see a lot of colors
in my podcast today? First of all, we got the
holidays right around the corner. Marry Christmas, everybody. Happy Holidays
also always a special time of the year. Also, my beads,
my bees Vegas Bowl put a knockdown on them Gators.

(00:24):
The Gators kicked the field goal at the end of
the game to not have a doughnut. The score is
thirty to three. So happy for everybody out there at
Order State. Man, just a huge, um, huge accomplishment. Uh,
finally excited to be a Beaver fan again. So it's
cool to see them have success. Um, who knows they
might be in the top ten at the end of
this year. Um, I'm hoping. So just a lot of

(00:46):
kudos goes out to a lot of guys over there,
Coach Smith, Coach Bray, I mean so many more, UM,
a lot of people, Mike Doc Man shout to you.
Just super awesome, super excited for you guys. A lot
of the players, man, you guys worked extremely hard for that.
So enjoy it. I didn't get a chance to win
a bowl game. I played b y U at the
Vegas Bowl my freshman year, went to the Albumo Bowl
my senior year, lost both of them. But what about

(01:08):
the Bills. Huh? What about the Bills with another big,
big dub over the Miami Dolphins. What a crazy, crazy game,
crazy atmosphere, crazy, just all around. It seemed like it
was a movie. Um, it was almost surreal how just
the entire game played out. Um started snowing in the
fourth quarter. And it's just right when it's just crunched

(01:29):
time and you know when when it came down to it,
guys has made plays. Obviously, Josh doing what he does
all the time, man and do his best player in
the league. And uh he puts his team on his
back every week and then shout out t Bass making
the game winner. Ah, lets some players out there, as
we always do. Every game is different. You always want
some players back, some bigger than others. But it's a

(01:50):
game's game in football. And I played this game long
enough to understand mistakes are gonna happen. Being able to
correct them, that's what's important. So I understand some of
the mistakes we made as a team, especially this time
of year. Man, it's cold, but you know it's everybody's
running the football a lot more. You gotta be able
to tackle, So continue to work on that. And something
that I always emphasized every single year that I just
want to always continue to get better at It's a

(02:11):
mindset more than anything. I considered the art too. I mean,
bring another girl, man down to the ground. Give credit
to the Dolphins, though they did a thing to it,
did this thing. Man, I was excited to compete against
to it. You know a lot of you guys know
that him and I golf in the off season. He
tried me twice. I know I knew he was gonna
try me. He tried me twice. One time in the
red zone with Tyreek. I saw the play developed. I

(02:34):
just I just felt the entire play and he tried
to kind of like he kind of back shouldered it
a little bit. I feel like I got my hand
in the way. Tough catch Tyreek had to make. And
then try me again on the two point conversion. Shut
that ship down. Try me on some damn China seven
and cover two, come on to a seam. That's a
good football team. One day, they I believe they're gonna

(02:54):
probably make the playoffs. And two I wouldn't be surprised
if we didn't see him again. So hopefully it's at home,
because we are chased that number one seed, well, not
chasing it right now. Bills are at the top, number
one seed. It really doesn't mean a whole lot right now,
but that is where you want to be. Number one seed. Obviously,
got the Chiefs right behind you, then the Bengals and
the Titans. Can't really look too much into you know,

(03:15):
if this team wins, if that team wins, you're gonna
be here. You're gonna be there. You just gotta really
focusing on one one at a time. This time you
keep joging around, but I'm literally taking one step in
front of the other. Yeah, I'm not looking back. The
only time I look back when I'm talking to you guys,
talking about the game. But you can't look too far
ahead either. You gotta literally take one step ahead. We're
eleven and three, have a playoff berth Um, so you know,

(03:39):
we know we're going to the postseason. But you know,
obviously getting the number one seed, getting that home field
advantage would would be awesome. Speaking of cold games, holy
shit minus eleven degrees in Chicago this weekend playing the
Chicago Bears and Justin Fields. Oh man, I was watching
tape watching tape on them over the last a couple

(03:59):
of days. It's study him. I mean, is just an
athlete out there just making place. Like my goodness. He
had a run gets Philadelphia Eagles. I mean it's probably
I mean probably two inches from being a touchdown. I
think he stepped out of bounce of the nine yard line.
But I mean breaking tackles, running past people, running through people,
running through arm tackles. That's I mean, that's what I'm

(04:20):
talking about this time of year, especially with a guy
like that who likes to use his feet. I mean,
they're dangerous. I always think that these are the type
of quarterbacks are the most dangerous ones that are able
to hurt you in there with their armn and with
their with their legs. So big test for us, the
Bears of the number one big play offense with fifty
plus games down the field, so it's gonna be a
test for us. Their backs are good, break a lot

(04:42):
of tackles. Their backs break a lot of tackles. Um
that's where it comes. You know, it's a mindset. Man,
my minus leaving degrees, I will be wearing sleeves. You
can kiss my ass. There's no tough guy thing. There
will be sleeves on my arms. You never overlooking team.
I've I've been in this league long enough to you
know every team. It's really any any game in Sunday,

(05:03):
because this is it's this team played extremely well because
Philadelphia Eagles last week. It probably um once some plays back,
but they had the Eagles on their hills for a
little bit. Um Eagles found a way to win. Yeah,
I mean you gotta you gotta be right and all aspects.
When we played quarterback like him, lamar Pat guys that
are able to like say it hurt you with the
legs and hurt you with with your arm. You definitely

(05:24):
have to be right and play good team defense and
and be and and have hats to the ball. Let's
get some factory cab. We got some good ones. Pat
mcpee made the show once again. Shout out Pat. The
worst playing in the NFL history now belongs to New
England Patriots twenty four. New England has a ball. They're
in a draw pitch it back to Jacoby Myers, Jacobe
Meyers trying to make a play. Laterally back Chandler Jones

(05:47):
picks it off and absolutely just what what are we doing? Guys?
There's some worst players out there. The Indianapolis fake punt.
Colt Anderson takes a snap from a wide receiver and
it's while his whole entire offensive line is on the
right side of the football and it's just him then
the center, and the in the center accidentally snaps the ball.

(06:09):
What about the butt fum ball? Butt fumba was pretty bad?
This is up there. I would say definitely a top
three um just because the situation, you know, just of
the situation. And I was at dinner Washington Red Zone.
I'm like, ain't no way, that's sure. My dad and
Everybody's like, Yo, what the hell did happen? But I

(06:30):
do gotta give respect where credits do for him to
be able to take those questions, uh, in front of
the media after the game, and and you know, it's
a real emotions man, and and and you know real
you know, God Lee, you feel for him almost uh,
you know, obviously it's a it's a play that he'll
want back for the rest of his life, hopefully learns
from hopefully the whole team learns from it. Mac. We

(06:51):
gotta work on your attackling the attackling skills, bro challenge Jones,
great play. Holy sh it, that was wild. I do
think that what Pat mcabee said is is a fact factor.
Cap Ron is the best tight end ever. But I
believe when it's all said and done, Travis Kelsey will
be the best ever. Shannon Sharp shoutout, Sharon Sharp. I
gotta agree. I mean, it just seemed like Travis Kelsey

(07:12):
really changed the game of tight end. First of all,
him and Pat been playing together for a while. He understands,
he understands defenses, he understands body position, he understands. He's
got great hands, he's got great agility, he's fast. I mean,
you know, I'm not gonna sit here and gas about
because you know we're probably gonna play him and I'm
gonna smack you know what I'm saying, because you know
he's a great tight end. He's a and I definitely

(07:34):
think he changed changed the game of tight end. There's
a lot of great tight ends, um, especially when I
was growing up. Tony Gain Dollars, Jimmy Graham and Antonio Gates,
who actually got a chance to play against when I
was I think he was it was Buffalo and twenty seventeen.
I mean that man is a monster, so big, uh,
Jason Witten. I mean the game is also changing, the

(07:54):
game of football is continue to change a lot more,
you know, a lot more like said, mobile quarterbacks, a
lot more plays having to be made in space. You know,
Teams aren't just lining up in ibas and running the
ball lead you know, lead ieso downhill or and then
play action in that and and running some basic levels concept.
You know, teams are now finding ways and especially with
a guy like Travis Kelsey who can really run every

(08:16):
route and find the soft spots in the zones, It's
it's hard to defend, especially we got a quarterback like Mahomes.
And that's why they are who they are, and that's why,
you know, I wouldn't be surprised. You know, we're probably
gonna see him again at some point, and that's what
we're gonna have to defend. Do I think he is
when it's all said done, going to be the best ever.
I got a lot of respect for Travis Kelsey. I
don't see why not you know, I don't see why not.
I'll say it's facts. Let's get into some mafia questions

(08:39):
before we get out of here. So we got Josh Allen,
Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow to Jalen Hurts, I have a
stabbing Subsidently, who do you think is next up to
hop on the Elite QB Company? You know, I like
the way Trevor Lawrence is playing right now. It seems like,
you know, he kinda is in his phase where you
know he is. It's his second year year. Um, you know,

(09:01):
he's started to understand the game a lot more. He
started to have more command, and that team really rallies
around him, always rooting for my guy's a Jones out
there and in Jacksonville. So I love watching him playing him.
I mean I think he had they had three touchdowns
last week. I mean, um, the dudes just you know,
he's playing lights out. He's got a lot of upsides,
and I do think that at one point to say

(09:22):
his names up there, Josh Allen back round, Yeah, I
mean That's what I'm saying. Like, but I do think
he's got a lot of upside in the I mean,
why not, you know, why not that'st question. Are you
excited for the weather in Chicago minus eleven degrees? I
don't know a lot of people that are gonna be
excited to be in the minus level degrees, But you
gotta do it, so you gotta get your mind rights.

(09:42):
So my mind is right to go play a football game,
be fun. You know who knows? Maybe, uh, maybe just
getting them to it. I don't know. Maybe it's just, uh,
you don't feel it. Maybe I've been in Buffalo long
enough to where I'm immune to it. I don't know
either way. I think the wind shool might make a
little colder. But gotta do it. I gotta prepare, I

(10:03):
gotta do it well. Big game this weekend, Bills at
Chicago at one o'clock Saturday, the day before Christmas. I
won't see you guys until after Christmas. So until then, Mary, Mary,
and Marry Christmas. I hope you guys get everything from
Santa that you wanted to get your twenty one jerseys.
Don't forget that, hopefully all ask for it. Anyways, until
next time, I appreciate you guys,
