Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sitting with us at the table, we have Isaiah and Johnson,
former NFL player, spoken word artists, author of Voices of
Life who focuses on advocating and teaching the importance of
financial literacy. Oh, and we cannot forget the lovely C. C.

(00:21):
Johnson sitting at his side. Enjoy our conversation, Pull up
a seat, get comfortable because it's time to stay awhile
I'm your host, Tommy Vincent, and today joining me at
the table, we have Isaiah Johnson.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
And the phenomenal C. C. Johnson.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Isaiah and CC, thank you so much for taking time
out of your schedule to join me here at the table.
I am honored to have conversation with you. And I
know that you are a man of many things, and
you have established some pillars and some layes that you
are traveling in life.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
But can you share with me who is Isaiah.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I'm a vessel, honestly, a spiritual vessel. I'm the one
that really wants to bring a lot of light to
this kingdom, you know, and I do it through to
our Lord the same in Jesus Christ. You know. So
I am again, you know, a man of faith, a
man on a mission just to just to keep everyone,
you know, attention right, you know, especially everything that's going on.

(01:39):
But ultimately, you know, I'm a family man. I'm big
on serving my people because I can't really serve outside
if I can't serve my own. So so I am
h you know, I am that just this a spiritual vessel.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
At what point in your life did you get this
type of resolve where you knew that you're a man
on a mission. Did you know that always? Or was
your moment in time where the light just went off
and you were like, this is who I.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Am to be real? When my father passed, so my
father was a true entrepreneur, had us working in the garage,
in the full finished carpeture, and when he passed away,
the Lord spoke to me. He really spoke to me, honestly,
moments before his passing where I wasn't with him, but

(02:32):
I heard a voice that say, pray for your dad,
pray for your father, pray for him out of nowhere.
And then when I came home and found out, you know,
it was gone, I just continued to listen to that
voice society, and I always felt like it was in
it was him, you know, stepping into me. So at
that moment, I was playing football. So I just continued

(02:53):
playing football. But I always knew that football was just
a platform or a pedestal to put me on an
the or take me to the next level. And honestly,
I haven't I didn't know what it was up until now.
You know, now I am fully aware of you know,
my community and what we're up to with the mission.
I'm are exposing you know, my people to the possibilities

(03:18):
to make your dream come true.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
What is the mission?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
The mission is? What is the mission? The mission? The
mission is following that voice and not being distracted. Everyone
has dreams, but every everyone's dream honestly gets washed away
because you get distracted. And I'm the one that really

(03:44):
wants to help people, you know, stay focused and locked
in all that goal. And you know, for me again again,
it is to bring them up to the higher power
or you know, being aware of that. But the higher
power is just honestly following you. It's really just following you,
you know.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
So I say, I always say you find yourself and
find your purpose because it's difficult to be able to
pursue something and you don't even know who you are.
What are you pursuing If you don't know who you are?

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Will it feed you?

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Will it not only feed you, but be a source
of fuel for other people? If it's not the thing
that you were created to do, not the thing, or
you're not being who you.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Were created to be.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
So I always share that with people when I'm doing
my coaching, when you find yourself and find your purpose.
So take time to learn who you are. And you
know we're sitting here today, it's not just you. You
are very intentional about having your sister CC in this
journey with you. What are you two doing together? And

(04:51):
why is it so important to you to do what
this is?

Speaker 3 (04:55):
So what we're doing together is literally working on on
on the program to really create what's the program? The
program is Steam.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
The Dream, the Dream Steam Steam.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Okay, so science Technology engineering artist. So I am you
know what a STEM advocate? I will say so within
my transition, I've gone back home to Atlanta, Georgia specifically
for this one here. Okay, because I've been exposed. You know,
I've been traveling all over this world and now that
football is no longer, it's like a man, what am I?

(05:32):
What am I supposed to do. I'm really bored out here,
to be real. But you know, I'm looking at my family,
I'm looking at my sister, and I'm looking at my
mom and uh, and I see that you know, she
needs help, you know. So we're taking care of this one. Yes,
So it's a lot that comes with this one, it
really is. But she's my best friend at the end
of the day.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
And uh.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
And in the mission that we are on is to
just just show people how to have for you know,
show people how to have for so we have fun
by doing going out performing. So I have her on
stage with me.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
And she out there with.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
So so again right right now, the mission is to
show people, you know, how to stay locked in on
a goal and and to get it done. And that's
one of the body. So we are, you know, going
through this process. It is an ongoing process of being
you know, mindful of the body. What we put into
with the mind and uh and the arts. You know,

(06:34):
really I'm holding in on the arts of a lot
because I see the joy brings her and when it
comes to a lot right now with the part of helping
her pronunciate her words and things like that put her
in the studio and having her listen to ourselves is
really creating, you know, just to spark in her to

(06:55):
stay alive, really just to stay alive. So that right
now I'm you know, editing this program as we speak.
But it's it's something that I feel strong that it's
going to help millions, millions for sure.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Why do you believe it's going to help millions?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
What is the substance of it that is going to
be imparted into millions that's going to change their lives.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
The substance behind it is, it's the work. I mean,
you know, that's that's that's that's pretty eve, I know,
but cliche. The substance behind it is is the honest
I can't even answer that question right now because I'm
still I'm still figuring it out. Okay, but but my
faith is strong, Yeah, I will say my faith is

(07:42):
really strong of what we've been up to, what we've
been doing that it needs to be exposed, you know.
So right now I'm just gonna give it all to God,
you know, on that. You know, I can't really answer
that question.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
No, I get it. Just the other day.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
We have a program that we do that we started
seven years ago. Vincent Country Safes on Activity Day, and
the question was asked, you know, was this the vision
that we had for it for where it is today
now seven years in And I could honestly say no,

(08:21):
because when I started, I just knew and I believed
that this was purpose work for us, that this was
that Vincent Country Safes on Activity Day was something I
felt so strongly in my spirit that God was like,
y'all need to do this to impact the lives of
students from k through sixth grade. For me, I knew

(08:43):
that it was a teacher who had impacted my life
in such a great way it changed the trajectory of
my life.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
So we just started doing it. Fast forward seven years.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Later, and I'm blown away because I knew it was
going to make a difference in the lives of everyone
that had the ability to touch, but I didn't know.
So I'm sharing that with you as a point of
encouragement because while you may not see the full picture,

(09:18):
you can feel it. And so pete doing what you're doing,
and the picture is going to continue to just open up.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Why the frame is going to get wider and wider
and wider, and one day you'll say, Okay, this is
what it was about. So I just want to encourage
you that in that way.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Just where and I do want to share, you know,
the thing with this one here, I'm coaching her up,
so TC coaching her up, but right now with within
even you know, this theme, the dream, this process, I
am focusing on the mental health, the financial literacy, and
the arts. When it comes to the financial literacy, and
what I have heard already in the in the process,

(10:01):
her credit is amazing right now, you know, so I'm
teaching her even how to use her credit cards in
these streets, so she's literally knowing how to swipe, and
I'm breaking it down and teaching her as if i'm
teaching anyone. So it really helps me when I do teach,
you know, go out into the schools or you know,

(10:21):
these are now in the corporate spaces. But the stories
that I share with others, I'm more so shared with
her first and helping getting her to understand whether she's
able to listen or not. You know, I'm still bringing
it down to her as if she is retaining these words,
and when it comes to the process, she's she's literally
going through this process. I may set it up on

(10:41):
the screen and just have her click. But what this
whole travel we're here in Vegas, Las Vegas. Half of
this trip really was paid for by this one here
really and that's really with the points from the credit
you know, So that's part of the process. And this
is a little things like that. It's so small to me,
but I understand how big it is, you know, to

(11:03):
the world. And and again, you know, thank you for help.
You need be lifeful. The vision will become more clear
as time goes on. But I did want to highlight
that because it's like, what is it? What do I
do that makes it? You know, this thing? So what
is the substance? You know? So I'm I'm an find
it for sure. So but just little things like that,

(11:24):
I get it. It goes a long way.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
So talk to me about this book that you have
here in your lab for those listening, Isaiah has a book.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
So can we talk about that.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yes, So this here voices of life for your emotion.
And this is for all my my athletes. You know,
I really want to put, you know, highlight my athletes
because we have all a lot of goal that goes
on in our world. You know, I'm speaking as an athlete.
And for us, I get, I get bothered. I get

(12:00):
when I hear other folks say, how you know, how
we are where we categorize that just we just don't know,
you know, we don't know what to do doing business
and things like that. It's it's not really highlighted well
for us. And it boils down to reading. Really, it

(12:20):
boils down to reading. So as long as you know
how to read and retain something, you're gonna figure it out.
And I've been reading tremendously heavily. And because I've been
able to now see words that just now is coming
out of nowhere, I've been able to write all my
emotions down, all my feelings down. And this book here,

(12:41):
poetry emotional has just literally just been poems are put
together from moments in life that really stand out. And
we all have those special moments, all those those thoughts
where it's like I should have I should have wrote
that down. This book is that a collection of those,
you know, those sparks and and uh, you know, I've

(13:05):
been able to travel to Africa after publishing this book,
so it's like you do something you never know what
can come from it. And uh, and this book has
guided me to Africa.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
What were you doing in Africa?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
I spoke on a tad platform. So I am a
published task speaker, all right from this book year you know,
so you just got you just gotta let go let God,
you know, let go let God. And again Voice of
Life is listening to that voice at the end of
the day when you are supposed to do something, act
on it. In this book, I've acted on those moments

(13:40):
and again that moment has led me to this moment now,
you know, So it's just trust them and trust the
process and uh and again for the athletes, you know,
write it down, you know, if you if something that's
going on, you know, mental health wise, write it down,
get your emotions out. And in this book, for me,

(14:02):
I just put it together. You know. Honestly, before this
I didn't have any quans, honest any plan other than
just to show people that I can create in a second.
You know so so but Boys of Life, though, this
the the substance behind this though, is still acting on
those moments. You know, write it down, you know, write

(14:24):
it down.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
So do you mind before we close sharing some of
your spoken word with everyone?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yes, I would love to. I would love to so
this this piece I would like to share, uh kind
of highlights the those those tough times, those tough moments,
especially being out of the game, and uh, it's just
you gotta rehndle your responsibilities for sure, oh in life.

(14:57):
So you know those feelings, you know those moments where
you gotta wake up and just take on whatever life
gives you. And this is the feeling of responsibility. The
messages everyone that's been telling me when I was immature mentally,
the messages my mama would say, are you gonna find
out when you get older having to pay bills and
paying for a home where I'll make you hot meals. See,

(15:20):
it is this feeling, a feeling so intense that makes
you want to within and die. Responsibilities to be responsible
comes with a lot of questions asking why why can
it come easy like it was as a child, responsibility
for your life. Make sure we don't want to gas
up there loud, But it is in this moment where

(15:41):
I have to be tough and wise and to teach
you thinking of the pressure like I'm Kobe and O five. See,
the mama that lays within has to rise and get
budgets and focus on the money and cut out all
the ruckies and the don't think about winning, and never
stop thinking, not even when you get to your millions,
because life is a ride that only the tough will survive.

(16:03):
And I stand tough, so I make sure I knock
down all the lives because I am strong, I am
mentally fit, I am the one God created to be
a hit. So why do I even question?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Why?

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Just keep on fighting and the Lord will God. Just
continue with your duties, and I permise you the Lord
gonna find you a ride. See all you have to do,
and just work on your abilities and continue being the
man who handles his responsibilities responsibilities.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
I saw you sit up ce see so much. She
sat up in that seat like she knew what time
it was. Thank you so much. That was awesome.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Well, thank you, thank you for your time, thank you
for this long.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Thank you for your time. I'm grateful.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
I'm honored that you both have taken a seat at
the stale while table.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Our table is always open. You are always welcome. Than
absolutely absolutely, thank

Speaker 1 (17:03):
