Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is vsn's Best Bets, giving you VSENS top talent,
handicappers and guests to catch you.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Up on what you may have missed.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (00:09):
Welcome in.

Speaker 5 (00:09):
It is Follow the Money on VSON, the Sports Betty Network.
This program is brought to you by DraftKings and as always,
we are live in downtown Las Vegas from the Circa
Resort and Casino.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
Very busy Friday morning show lined up today.

Speaker 5 (00:23):
We have plenty of NBA basketball playoffs there, NHL as well.
It was a great night last night in sports. We
have Kentucky Derby. We have a big weekend in the
EPL as well. Nigel Celia in the program coming up
in about an hour. Paul and I was a little
sad to actually see that series end last night between
the seventy six ers and the Knicks. I wanted one more.
I always have it in my head. I compare every

(00:46):
series in every sport to the two thousand and one
Lakers Kings, even though Tim donneghie was involved in that series,
because that, to me, was still the best series I've
ever seen to play out for seven games. This is
the best series I've seen in the NBA in a long,
long time. I don't know how long it's been, but
this one will go. I will remember this series. I
think many of you will as well for many many years.

(01:06):
It was that good and it wanted one more game,
and it was just when you have a team score
twenty two points in the first half, they trailed by
twenty plus Maxi had two points, and they came back
to lead in the first half, and yet the game
was flying over the total. And they had a twenty
two point first quarter and the Knicks had a fifteen

(01:27):
point second quarter. Like anything was on the table last
night in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Now, that hadn't happened in twenty five years. To be
down twenty two and you don't even have and you
come back and take the lead at halftime. Yeah, And
that's when Barkley said, it's a rap at halftime, and
we're going back to New York for Game seven because
Maxie scores two points. Buddy healed off the milk carton unbelievable.
How do you explain this stuff? Heal goes off. But

(01:52):
to them plays well, Maxi struggles. Harris, We'll get the
Harris in a second. What McConnell and Toppen did there's
no rhyme or reason here. It is just staggering how
this supporting cast can play at home and how they
disappear on the road or some guys just come out
of nowhere and give you big games. But for this series,
as you mentioned, you're right, we couldn't get enough of it.

(02:14):
The Knicks were plus one for the series and they
advance in six games. The Brunson angle, who Dallas got
rid of them for nothing? And Vulgaris has had so
much success in his life and he ran that organization,
He's made so much in crypto and one of the
best NBA betters of all time. Just didn't see anything
there with the guy. And even Carlyle, a great coach.

(02:35):
How about that angle. You got Brunson going against Carlile.
Carlyle had him in Game seven with Dallas didn't even
play them hardly in like nine minutes in that Game seven,
which he lost a few years ago. So you have
Carlyle going against Brunson, and Brunson's become one of the
best players in the league.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
Question what a story. He's a bonafied superstar. So we
can that's now shut. Nicks don't have to add a superstar.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
They have one. We all know this now. I mean
when he is in the.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Same territory as the big o Oscar Robertson thirty five
plus points and eleven plus assistant three games in a
seven game series, first guy sends him to do it.
And he's the first guy to close out a series
with three straight forty point games since Michael Jordan in
nineteen eighty nine.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
That'll tell you how.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
With how many scores we have in the NBA, and
we've had now for thirty years, he's the first guy
since MJ to do that. And he wasn't the only
guy who was hitting last night. And I will say
that I had multiple bets on the under in that game,
first quarter, first half, but all I can do is
sit there and say tip of the captain, Buddy Healed,
who could not even play in the series. And he
came out and he scored seventeen in the second quarter.

(03:40):
And because of that late flear late finished there to
the second quarter, that first half stayed over as well,
or went over, I should say.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
So it just it was bananas. It was awesome.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
Mbat almost scored forty last night, and as you said,
we were going to get the Harris and Lowry. They
combined the two starters. For the two of them starting
players in the NBA, one of them makes more than
twenty five million dollars per year combined to score zero
points in the game last night.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
That stat line is atrocious, vomit inducing and hilarious. Tobias
Harris played twenty nine minutes, took two shots. He's out
there getting a cardio. He took two shots in an
elimination game in twenty nine minutes and didn't score.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
I read it wrong, by the way, It's almost forty
million a year for.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Him, Yes, right, yeah, I cannot believe that stat line.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
He's just walking out there, just going up and down.
What are you not getting involved?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
What is your role with the team? Oh?

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Oh, I'd like to say that he takes minutes, but
he does nothing with those minutes.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
There was so much going on, number one, that the
fact that this organization is in this position after they
were mocked, ridiculed and laughed at for soul, Oh you
didn't want Durant and Kyrie? What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (04:49):
What?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
And now the position that they're in, but that the
Villanova connection is enough here where they can go to
the conference finals and the future is so bright. But
what diva you good call? You said, Oh these teams
that gave up on Devincenzo. Any what heart has become
hard to have the onions to hit that three in
the tie game, But then it looks like it's over
after the tomahawk dunk from Og to put them up

(05:11):
eight with two forty of course bricks the free throw,
and then they come back and they can't box out
and Ubre has a dunk and but two mits of
three and next thing you know, we got a game.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
That's why, like anything was possible. How many late blowing
leagues did we have in this series?

Speaker 3 (05:24):
And the Knicks missing free throws again, Brunson did it too.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
I don't know which player I like more on the Knicks,
I because Brunson's so good.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
But how do you not love the way Heart plays?
How do you not love Og?

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Devincenzo again, Hartenstein last name with the left handed floaters
that were not missed.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
That's right, yep, another good player. Right, there's like a
throwing and they got it from the Clippers. Sure, I mean,
there's so many stories like this. Even McConnell McConnell was
the point guard on the twenty fifteen Sixers who went
ten and seventy two. Now Lebron loves his game, and
the guy, well, he was so good last night. Also

(06:00):
at an unbelievable year, and that's why they were right
there one two all year on offensive efficiency all time
with the Celtics says they didn't skip a beat even
when Halliburton got hurt. How good McConnell's become. I mean,
the guy was on a one of the worst teams
in NBA history and now he scores twenty points in
a closeout game. I can't get enough of this.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
No, and he was like one of the best players
in the court, yeah, for either one of those games
last night. And now so they play each other Knicks Pacers,
Nicks at DraftKings Lane two twenty five too much Pacers
plus one ninety on the take back.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Mistake by the league. Game one should have been tomorrow,
Saturday night in prime time and it's Denver, Minnesota. But
still they start Monday. But it's yeah, Monday's too long, sure,
but you know it's it's fascinating, right, I think, I think,
what are they going to do with these totals. I
think the Knicks are going to run with them Indiana.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Last night's game was just off the rails.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
It was because pace Indiana second, Knicks dead last. But
in the two wins in the regular season there was
a one forty to one twenty six and there was
another high score, So both Indiana wins were high scoring
and the one Nick win was low scoring. But I
think I think they'll get up and go with them.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Do you think two twenty five is too high? Yeah,
I told myself last night after the game in this
morningcause I didn't even look until half hour before the show,
I'm like, please, do not make this number high enough
for me to bet the Pacers because I want the Knicks,
or I don't. I should say this, I don't want
to bet against the Knicks, and this.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Number has kind of been I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
I thought it was actually going to be a little
bit higher, Like had the Knicks been in the three
dollars range, it would have been ubsurd. At that point,
I would have been of course, you got to take
the Pacers, en, but this is in the kind of
no man's land for me. But I don't if you
want to take the Pacers plus the one ninety the
way that they're playing, and if they can get the
Knicks to play their game, I don't blame you.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
They trust the Pacers away from home as well. That's
one thing. I mean that that crowd was awesome for
that whole series, but the.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Home courts for both these teams, for every Gary Lee
very loud, Unlike Toronto.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
I mean, that was unacceptable what happened last night Toronto,
but that was I mean, the fans in Philly made
more noise when Brunson bricked the two free throws and
got the free chicken than when the Maple Leafs actually
won the game.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I think they were probably really tight. I think they
were scared out of their minds. Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yeah, apparently that's well, it's every Maple Leafs home game though,
based on people who are familiar with that scene and
the bron people have tickets of the game. But that
was dynamite scene for both games. And this fantastic all
the way around, and the unsung heroes and who came
out of nowhere and making shots. I just cannot believe Brunson,

(08:37):
who changed people laughed at the contract they Nicks gave them,
it's forty points, no surprise whatever. And I think they
actually the free throw line knocking down threes were drawn fowls.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
They revisited that in the broadcast last night. They brought
that up during the game. They were like, yeah, remember
when he signed that contract from coming over from Dallas.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
People were like, Eh, you sure here, that's a bit much.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
It's one of the best contracts in sports at this point.
And when he gets in the lane, I'm talking from
like twelve feet in in, I don't care if he's
if m beat his air, I don't care if he's
amongst the trees. If he misses that floater, I'm stunned.
If he has a clean look from within fifteen feet,
it's he's not missing.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Yep, Yep. That's how good he is right now. Total
heat check the entire time.

Speaker 7 (09:21):
Eno.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
If you want to move forward the Sixers in the
Bucks for next year, oh boy, I don't know what
the Sixers can possibly do.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Oy George, does that do anything for you? I don't
know why you would leave LA, But that's been rumored.
The process now seven trips to the playoffs, not one
Conference finals appearance, and the changes that are coming there
and then with Milwaukee. The other thing that staggering is
since Doc took over, he only had the Big three
for eight games, Lillard, Freak, and Middleton. I would have

(09:53):
made it a ten unit play if I know, I
get twenty eight points out of Lillard, I get twenty
eight out of Lillard. He looks like that. He comes
back and plays a lot, goes down to five and
a half. But Topping and McConnell are great and don't
get a lot of help from the other guys.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Oh, Top and could miss. He was awesome. McConnell dictated
what was going to go on in that game.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Yep, Milwaukee's seven of twenty seven from three yikes, good
call to Beverly. He was awful and embarrassed himself after
the game, ridiculed a reporter because she didn't follow him
on subscribe to his podcast, and threw a ball at
a fan.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Why did he's sing that thing right at the fan?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
What's he doing?

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Oh he's a lunatic. Yeah, get him off the court.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yep, that's two.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Whisk him away.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yeah, it's just they just couldn't stay healthy, and well
they to lose your best player in your MVP and
he can't even give you one minute in the series.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
So here's why I don't like what I mean. They
can't run it back. They're too old, they're ready. You
like the oldest team in the NBA or one of
the oldest teams in the NBA. You can't keep doing
this with the same core guys.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
They won a championship. As a guy who grew up
in that state, I'll never forget that. It was amazing.
So but just the early exits and I get the injuries, oh,
I know, but there's always something.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Man with this team. Always.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
Yeah, And I know that you've said the year that
they won it was a fluke year. That's fine, it was.
It was a fluky year, but they won a title,
So I'm good. I'm happy with that. Every other year, though,
it's disappointing, and that's not okay.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
They have too much talent.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
You have Freak who's one of the best players in
the history of the league, and you have one thing
to show for it, and everything else has been a disaster.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
We'll show the video coming up. Remember the celebration when
they did the pregame introduction the game after Griffin was
fired and then you never adjusted and it was a
disaster under Doc.

Speaker 1 (12:04):

Speaker 5 (12:34):
For those of you watching the show, this is the
video that Paulie talked about in the first segment of
the program today and for the radio audience, you can
simply find this on social media when you just put
Bucks Dancing in if you missed it from months ago.
This is the next game. Look at them, look at
the looks on their faces, look at the dance moves.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Crowder coming in the end, Lowe Lopez. That's right after
they fired Griffin. I mean it looks I can't believe it.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
That's the next game. Thirty and thirteen. Yeah, can't stand
this guy. They were horrendous defensively. Get him out, can't
win games with him? Here, you Gill, you get what
you asked for. Yep, Doc Rivers.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
He said he's excited and can't wait to fix stuff
and get ready for next year.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I trust him to fix it. Oh yeah, yeah, he's
the mechanic that I need.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
John.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
No, he's not putty. I mean, but this is this
is great because he told you the whole time. Boy,
it's a really difficult situation. I told him it's gonna
be hard. I'm gonna take all the money though, I
don't think it's gonna work, but I'm gonna. I'm gonna
do it. You know, we're gonna fire Griffin. I'm gonna
take over. And this is Do you think Dame's beck
I don't know. That's that's a tough call because it didn't.

(13:47):
The reports came out that he wasn't happy and he
wanted to go to Miami and they couldn't get it done.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
And that's they could trade him for another star player.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Yeah, they can make that happen. I don't know, who
knows what would have happened. But they just were never
healthy and they just I don't know. They just couldn't
stand Griffin either, but I don't care what he was like.
And then he was so difficult to play under. You
still were thirty and thirteen.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Which is crazy when you come to think about it.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah, you were number two in the league that time.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Yeah, And we kept saying it back then. Well, they
have time to figure this out. They were thirty and thirteen, yep,
and it just had got worse, and they were a
thinking ship. And I know the injuries didn't help, but man,
you're right. Lizard came back last night, the line goes
down from eight to five and a half, he plays well,
and they get.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Blown out of the gym.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
So tonight, I said before the break, I don't think
the casual fan realizes how good these two teams are.
I meant the home teams Dallas on the year fifty
one and thirty six ats. That's fifty eight point six
percent against the spread as of this minute, that's the
second best mark in the NBA. Now, they were only
twenty two and twenty one ats at home, but the
Clippers not great on the road. They were below five

(14:59):
hundred overall, were the eighth worst team, and the Mavericks
twenty six and seventeen under at home, fourth best overall.
In the NBA Game four, they were laying nine. Now
this number has actually come down a little bit. It
was eight, sitting at seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Well, the Clippers can't be any worse, and you know
you're going to get a better performance out of Harden
and George, but you probably will. Yeah, But the thing
that scares me, well, yeah, and Westbrook good luck. But
the thing that scares me is now Lucas appears to
be close to one hundred percent. Now, nothing listed on
the injury reporting. It appears to be good to go.
And that was the uh, you know, one of the
best player in the league. What we saw in the

(15:33):
last game, knocking down difficult shots, doing whatever he wanted
step backs and then talking trash with the Clipper bench.
So the other difference tool, but what Lively does down low?
And you know, nothing at the basket for the Clippers
as well. So the MAVs should win. But I think
it's we're getting a little carried away here though. When
you're looking at the point spread, who comes down to again,

(15:54):
you don't know what the supporting cast is going to do,
and does George and Man and some of these guys
go off and bombs away from three like they did
in the last game in Dallas. I mean some of
this stuff again doesn't make any sense. Bench points last night.
In the next game forty two to five, he'll goes off,
but Tom plays Well, you don't get anything out of Harris.
You saw what Toppin did. So I'm not going to

(16:16):
fall off my chair if it's a good performance from
Harden and you look up and maybe the Clippers have
a ten point leaterally, that's just how it goes.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
No.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
No, I would actually expect him to bounce back decks
again kind of what he does. Right, He'll look really
really good in one game and two nights later he
throws up a total dut and you're like, wait again,
below twenty percent, James, seriously with this stuff.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
So he did dead in the last game.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
So who he comes out tonight and has twenty seven
and he hits five threes, that's okay.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
I would not be surprised for one second if that happens.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
I really like the over. I think the total's too
low and it went over in the last game. But
watching that last game, the pace was there. The shot
selection was fantastic. A lot of the shots just weren't
going in and after a first after the first eight minutes,
what were high sc guys were just missing good luck
after good look after and then it exploded in the

(17:04):
second half and went over the total. So I think
two six and a half is way too low here,
not to mention the scramble points where elimination game and
the Clippers could be following down the stretch just to
try to save the season. So I think the total's
too low. The other one too. I mean, this is
this Allen injury is enormous and you've been all over
Orlando here. Now, I'm not going to call out and

(17:25):
question someone's toughness, but they can't shoot this guy up.
He took an elbow to the rib. He's going to
miss two games. It's not like he's Kobe Bryant. He
needs to be. You know, he's a jump shooter and
he's a banger down low. I don't know this guy, but.

Speaker 5 (17:37):
Can you put like some sort of a jacket on him,
some protection there for the torso I don't know what
it would be, but I'm guessing technology exists where you
can get some protection out there.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
For Yeah, you see it all the time in the NFL.
What Romo used to play punctured lungs whatever, witting Romo
And this guy took an elbow to the ribs and
could miss two games and a close out in Game six.
So if he doesn't go, I love the Magic and
what they can do down low when you don't have Now,
Mobley was great in the last win. But how do
you trust the Cavs on the road with how they've

(18:07):
looked so far in this series, and then just the
lift that Orlando gets from that crowd and how these
young guys feed off that emotion.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
Sure, so I said, I told you how good the
Mavericks were against the spread on the season, second best. Well,
this is the best team in the NBA ats the
Magic fifty four and thirty three. That is sixty two
point one percent, number one in the entire league. On
top of that, twenty nine and thirteen ats at home,
that's sixty nine point one percent the best with a bullet.
By the way, home team Cavaliers were below five hundred

(18:37):
on the year, and they were four games below five
hundred on the road, eighth worst in the league. And
the Magic twenty six and sixteen under at home second
best as well. Can I talk you into or let
me bring this up. We don't do this very often,
but trusting maybe both home teams just to win.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
A two team moneyline parlay plays pays around plus one
oh five.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Yeah, that's a good look.

Speaker 8 (19:00):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
I'm with you on that one. I mean, but I
would I would wake this out though, and see what
happens with Alan.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Okay, that's fair, totally fair.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Because he makes a big difference the kids. I don't
trust Mobile at all with his with the shot selection,
and while he had a couple, he had the big
block in the win late. I mean, that's just And
I don't trust the Cabs away from home either.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Well you can't do that. But also you can't forget
what happened in games three.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
And four, Oh run out.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
They never had a chance, and the Magic came back
in game five and almost won that game in Cleveland.
That was back and forth the entire time they had
a chance there. So it goes back to Orlando. I
in my I can't this again. That's who they were
the entire year basically, and I think it was Raheem Palmer,
who said this on x He's been on the show recently,
very good on the NBA. I think he basically said

(19:46):
that the Magic at home are the best team in
the NBA regardless. I mean, that's like if they played
like that every game, they would be the best team
in the NBA.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
That's how good they are at home. And so they
just they.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
Completely smoked clear Eveland in those two middle games of
this series. I have no reason to believe that Cleveland's
going to go there and win this game.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
Yeah, the offense is broken too. I don't know what
happened to that offense in the first two games of
the series. I mean they've they've really had some issues
here and Mitchell hit some big shots for him as well.
But I don't know what struce Garland mobile. I don't
know what I'm getting game to game here. So yeah,
I'm with you with the Magic and we're going to
get a seventh game here.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
Yeah, we will get into the We'll spend a lot
of time on Round two between the Wolves and Nuggets
coming up in about seven minutes. I wanted to point
out that today we do have some good pitching matchups
going on in Major League Baseball, Giants and Phillies. You
want to get involved here with Philadelphia in the first five.
This insane run continues fifteen and one runs in the

(20:43):
first five. It's a great matchup. Hicks goes against Nola.
Hicks numbers do not lie so far. They are very
very good across the board. Nola has been super solid
as well. But this Phillies lineup is really really good.
The Giants lineup completely unreliable, so first five might be
worth a look there. And the other one that I
made a bet on the overnights last night is a

(21:05):
first five under. I'm getting involved with the Mariners again.
It's Kirby against Blanco. Kirby so far this year, he's
had one bad start and he has some really his
underlying numbers tell you that he's actually been much better
than what his peripherals suggest, and Blanco overall numbers are great. Remember,
Seattle's offense is terrible. They strike out a lot. For

(21:27):
what it's worth. Blancos only allowed two barrels all year
two point four percent, so they define barrels as comparable
hit types with exit velocity and launch angle would equal
a five hundred batting average. And fifteen hundred slugging he's
allowed two all year.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
So I think first five hundred four plus money is decent.
And then Braves get the Dodgers this weekend. Today it
happens to be Morton versus Stone. Both these offenses are
so good totals nine. I wonder if you just if
you blindly bet the overs and all three of their
games this week, and if you'd be okay because the
offenses are so good, that's.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Not a bad look, Yep, no doubt. You want to
go against the Twins about that. It's a it's a
mini Malinsky special. They've won ten in a row. They're
in fourth place. I mean this, we just got to may.
This is nuts, how good that division is. And then
your guys going for the Red Sox too against Paddock.
So I think the Red Sox are worth a bet
here tonight and or the Twins.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
You know, So, how many of those games came on
the road? Was it nine game rules? I think it was.
I think it was seven. Yeah, look it might have
been more than that, okay, but any event, they're going
nuts in Minnesota. You can't watch the games locally.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
They finally won a playoff series and cut payroll by
thirty million them.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
This is Vsen's Best Bets, catching you up on everything
you missed on vsend.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
B Sports Betting Network.

Speaker 8 (23:10):
Going to Numbers game live from bar Canada at the
de Gail Alexander Kelly Bidlin. I failed to mention right
at the beginning of the show, and I was saying,
I gotta mention it right at the top, right at
the top, because it was.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Starting right as we started.

Speaker 8 (23:21):
Every host, every guest on this network, every sport that
they have a bet in is all at vson dot
com slash is it bets or picks now it always
kills me picks Visa dot Com slash picks, pardon me,
Visa dot Com slash picks every host, every guest, every sport.
I had one tennis play overnight.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I have.

Speaker 8 (23:41):
I feel like I'm the only person who took Taylor
Fritz here against Andre Rublev. I have right, I have
picks you right, you're so excited about You're like GI.

Speaker 9 (23:51):
Goes to confirm things and I'm like, yeah, sure that
sounds good.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
I have Fritz at plus one twenty seven pre flop
right as the match started. It was a bout I
think a couple pennies better than that. But right now
they're on serve two games, two games, Andre Rublev against Taylor,
Fritz Rublev coming off the win against Algaaz and Fritz
getting no love. But Fritz is by the way three
to two. Now Rublev on serve in the first set.

(24:16):
Fritz getting no love in this on the betting line here,
but his clay numbers are better, quite frankly over the
long term than Andre Rublev's are, and Fritz has beaten
a lot of clay court specialists in this tournament.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
So I thought that was a fantastic price.

Speaker 8 (24:31):
So if you're interested in getting in this somehow in match,
at some point here, including right now where there's a
break there, it is take that for what it's worth.
We get tweets at beating the book. That's a semi
final in Madrid. By the way, we get tweets at
beating the book. Always appreciate the feedback. Matthew Mayberry, Holy crab,
Look what happens when you foul up three? He said,
you win in capitals Nicks plus three and a half,

(24:54):
Nick's money line, Nick series sixers in play plus nine
and a half all cash thank you, Tom Thibodeau, are
doing the right thing. There you go, Matthew Mayberry, it
is the right thing. We used to try on this show.
To remember, we did this on primetime Action too. I
don't know if we ever followed through. We're like, we
need to keep a list of coaches who do fall
up three in those who don't.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, yeah, no, no.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
No, but they're not consistent. That's what I was just
gonna say.

Speaker 9 (25:18):
And we were talking about it yet what was it
yesterday the day before, I mean after the last game,
where it was like we brought up that point. None
of these guys are consistent. Sometimes you see it throughout
I mean the playoffs I think have been a disaster.
I think there's been multiple times where guys should have
done it, and it's it feels, actually to me Gil
like it's something a couple years ago, a few years

(25:41):
ago now at this point that everybody kind of seized on.
There were a few that started to regularly do it,
and now it's just there. You throw out jobs or
moved around, and nobody's.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Consistent with it.

Speaker 8 (25:52):
Trust the glove, deep shot, no doubt or to center
with the Cleveland bet gambling journalism at its best. I
think he's talking about the home run the other night,
even though it wasn't centerfield.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Carrotine.

Speaker 8 (26:05):
I don't know Las Vegas five one four no yo yo,
he says, can you spell the word ghagt? I'm looking
for it and can't find it. I like it, though,
lo O L G A C K D. Of course
everybody knows that, as in they gacked the game, Hunter
Gaddis gacked it, Nash nash Is. Kelly meant to quote

(26:28):
the great Mark Borchard and saying love you JVT. But
I got my mind on my money and my money
on my mind.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
With the Mavericks. That's exactly right.

Speaker 8 (26:35):
Let's see here, Brian Brian Schaeffer, Ruble went down love one.
I jumped on Ruby lev plus money, so he went
the other way, and then trust the glove. Also add
he adds, I don't bet horses, but Drew's report almost
moved me to do so. Drew getting down at Churchill downs,
I mean.

Speaker 9 (26:53):
How many times have we done this with him now
with two three years in a row where he's been
out there, right, I mean like we've done the same
kind of shot with him now a couple of times.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
It is.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I mean, you obviously seized on it, like you could
see it.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
You can see it his face and his eyes.

Speaker 9 (27:07):
How many times do we have we have him one
every single week to talk about something in sports betting.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
You can just see his eyes light up. With every
South there at the Derby.

Speaker 8 (27:15):
It brings up an interesting conversation which we've had I
think one or two times before, but when I see
him there, it just brings it. It brings it to
the four which I think is worth having briefly, which
is you know, he's very open about this, so I'm
not talking about it behind his back or anything. But
he works for he does he does betting for NBC.
Like that's a big potential gig.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Right, And.

Speaker 8 (27:39):
You know NBC has what they have the Derby, They
have golf, which Drew loves to bed. They have certain
tennis majors. I believe, they have the French Open leaps
to mind. So a lot of this would be right
in his strike zone. But one of the interesting things,
and for those of us in the gambling media space
who have been immersed in gambling and betting sports our

(28:00):
whole lives, let's face it, one of our big sort
of I don't know.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
I don't know if it's Pet Peeves or one.

Speaker 8 (28:06):
Of the things that we're very cons conscious of is
are is betting media ultimately right at the bigger networks
going to be the arena of folks like Drew who
have been immersed in this for all these years.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Or you know, when it comes.

Speaker 8 (28:24):
To football, let's use the biggest sport of all, will
would they rather have some of their mainstream folks talk
about betting instead of a guy like Drew.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
So that's going to be fascinating to find out. And
you know, Woul they'd rather.

Speaker 8 (28:38):
Have Chris Sims talking about a football line as opposed
to Drew Densick. And so we'll see. The answers are
yet to be determined on that, Ladies and gentlemen. He
is the host of Pablo Tory finds Out. Pablo Torre
joins us right now. Pablo Torre finds out By the Way,
a podcast that both Kelly and I are dare I say,
obsessed with and I just want to give you the

(28:59):
little quota, the little sort of subtitle on it. Award
winning journalist slash gas Bag. Pablo Torre is finally free
to f round. Pablo torre joins us now courtesy the
Progressive guest line, how do you do a Pablo?

Speaker 7 (29:11):
I'm great, guys, that is all too kind. Thank you
for being obsessed with something that feels like my second child.
Much to my wife's disappointment, she's asking, should we have
a second child?

Speaker 2 (29:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (29:22):
Can I just start like when you had in your head?
You know, one day I'll probably do a podcast of
some sort. How long have you had this particular angle
in mind where you essentially do go, as it says,
right there, go down rabbit holes of sports stories that
perhaps haven't been properly vetted out.

Speaker 7 (29:42):
Yeah, it's sort of the culmination of all of my curiosities.
I appreciate you guys being curious about this because I've
been doing sports television in some form or another for
almost fifteen years now as a magazine writer before that,
and what I hadn't yet hadn't but I hadn't yet
earned the ability to do, was basically tell people, Hey,
I think I have a sense of what might be

(30:04):
interesting for you, because look, I get it. I understand
that doing something different that's premised on hey, there's a
story here. I'm not going to tell you what it
is the outset, but trust me, there's gonna be a payoff.
It's something that I've worked literally fifteen years to sort
of achieve, and so for me, in the last year
or two, I sort of formulated this concept of what if.

(30:25):
The premise is this is a mystery box drawn from
the world of sports, but also beyond it and inside
of which you could find something like I don't know,
the video the Knicks used to try and recruit Lebron
James twenty ten.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
That's one of the great Wow.

Speaker 7 (30:38):
Yeah, I'm just bringing I'm bringing these sorts of bits
of information as well as artifacts as well as just
to me would feel like revelations and hoping that if
you come along for the ride, you're gonna maybe be
obsessed with this in the way that I am.

Speaker 8 (30:54):
And it is so great. You mentioned that one about
the Knicks video to lure Lebron. There was the there's
a great one on Mattish via the owner of the Suns,
which is just mind blowing. I'm not going to say
anything else. People should absolutely watch that. Let's just say
wasn't too unhappy the Sons got swept. Just won't blow
that up.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
Yeah, it was so the Sun's one.

Speaker 7 (31:15):
I'll say yes, please listen to it. Watch it, because
it's an exhaustive deep dive into how this guy maybe
afforded the Suns for a record price, like Noody paid
as much money for an NBA and WNBA team than
Mattish via four billion dollars. And this is the story
of how he happens to be also the king of
mortgage lending in America and how you average American may

(31:37):
helped him buy the team without you necessarily knowing it
to be sort of blunt about it. And so yeah,
when they get swept and all these questions arise, now
guys about like well, what matt what's Mattish are you
going to do in this off season? How is he
going to run this team? You kind of got to
understand how he runs his big business that made him
a bazillionaire to get a sense of like how this

(31:59):
could all go for the lead end for him.

Speaker 8 (32:00):
Probably you made the joke about how your wife, you
know who thinks that this is your second child the
podcast and not your actual, perhaps pending second child. But
let me ask you a similar question, and maybe this
is unfair, do you have a favorite of any of
the ones you've done where you've been like surprised beyond
belief about it.

Speaker 7 (32:18):
You know, I love and so for all of the
investigative work we've done, and there's a whole laundry list
I will not indulge myself with. On your show, we
interviewed Maury Povich, and I love the interview we did
with Maury Povich for so many reasons, and part because
this is the king of daytime television now retired, who

(32:39):
just let me watch episodes of Maury with him. Watching
Maury Povich with Maury Povich was like an out of
body experience that a genie seems to have granted me.
And so when he's walking me through what it was like,
he's tellustrating what it was like to reveal that this
gentleman was not the father. It was just one of

(33:00):
the greatest moments of my life, let alone the revelation.
Guys at Maury Povich in his competition with all the
other kings and queens of daytime television. Remember the era
that this was in. This was Oprah, Jerry Springer, Ricky
Lake and all of that. Of course, Jerry Springer, the
late great Jerry Springer, is no longer with us, but
Maury Povich told me he's still and Morpovich is now retired,

(33:21):
he still checks the TV ratings to see if he
is beating Jerry. He's not hosting his show anymore. Jerry
Springer has died, and Maury Povich cannot stop hosting. You
can't stop competing, and that, in a way is sports
to me.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Also problem. We gotta run.

Speaker 8 (33:38):
We could talk for ten minutes about this.

Speaker 1 (34:09):

gonna get Johnny Lazarus on a horn here in a second.
Who does NHL content on the website of vson dot com.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
What is your initial reaction to the Bruins laying around
a dollar thirty five in Game seven?

Speaker 3 (35:09):
I was reading everything last night from media members there
saying no home ice advantage and the fans could turn
on him. I'll tell you this, Montgomery's got to be
coaching for his job, I would think. And I love
the under five and a half. I mean, wall Hare's
been at Walt This is crazy. And I cannot believe
you come out and have one shot on goal in the.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
First per Stagree really both things.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
So Johnny Lazarus joins the program now can read them
all the time at vson dot com. With the NHL,
he's on the progressive guest line. Johnny, good to talk
to you again. What are your thoughts on Game seven
with the Bruins now laying around a dollar thirty five
and what Paul just said where Montgomery probably should be
coaching for his job.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
Well, I think everybody outside of Boston is thrilled right
now with that result last night, because who doesn't want
a Game seven between these two teams on Saturday night
Hockey Night in Canada ESPN plus ABC. I mean, this
is you know, this is what got the little kid,
a little hockey fan and all of us right like
a Bruins Leaf rivalry game seven. I mean, you can't
ask for much more, but I couldn't agree with you

(36:07):
guys more. I think Jim Montgomery is certainly coaching for
his job. And listen, in the NHL, it's great what
you do in the regular season, but everything that matters
comes in the playoffs. So you know, you've seen so
many teams have successful regular seasons and one guy that
stands in mind to me is Gerard Glant with the Rangers.
You know, back to back incredible regular seasons with the Rangers,

(36:27):
got to the conference final, that eliminated in the first round.
Job gone. You know, the NHL has become this you know,
I think it's kind of cliche now, but it's become
this carousel coaching where you know, if you're not successful,
right away. There's other guys that can do the job.
So you know, I never want to root for someone's
job to be taken away from them, But I have

(36:48):
to imagine blowing back to back three one leads in
two years in a row in the playoffs. That would
jeopardize your job for sure. So big one for Bruins
on home ice.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
If you're a.

Speaker 6 (36:58):
Leaf fan, you gotta feel good. The vibe got to
be pretty high. And I am careful saying that always
about that team, But I don't know if this seems
like you're exercises and twenty thirteen demons.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Here, right, you have to laugh. I mean, to be
the first team ever to do this and blow back
to back three to one series lead, Toronto's lost what
six straight game sevens and they haven't beat him since
nineteen fifty nine as well. And then if you're going
to come back without Austin Matthews do and be able
to do this, what has happened to the offense as well?
I mean he called out Posternoch after the game. Toronto's

(37:30):
staying out of the box, so that's been great, and
then they can't solve Wall. I mean, this is where
are the shots? Where are the scoring opportunities. This has
been three horrific periods, going back to the first two
periods of the last game and then coming out in
the first period of last night as well. What's going
on with Boston?

Speaker 6 (37:48):
Well, I think this is a Boston team that we
really kind of expected, right, you know, going into the season,
there was a lot of concern about the Bruins. You
know that they're center depth wasn't there. Their top two
centers now are Pablo Zaka and Charlie Coyle. Their third
line centers Trent Frederick, their fourth line centers just provocalist.

(38:09):
Like you know, this isn't necessarily a team that has
a ton of skill, but the Boston Bruins, and I
was saying this last night at Adam Kaufman Show, you know,
there's a culture there that when players come in, there's
a certain standard and expectation of how you're supposed to play,
and they do it year in, year out being a
Boston Bruin. And I know, you know it's kind of
cheesy to say, but it means something.

Speaker 10 (38:30):
You know, that crest, that that jersey, it's you know,
it's a pretty classic organization, right, It's it's one of
the first that you think of when you think of hockey,
and I think I think players take a lot of
pride in that.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
But this team on paper, you know, people wanted to
call the Bruins fraud. I don't think they belong in
that category because you know, they're not a team that
has a ton of talent, that is, you know, out
playing what they're like expected to do. I guess in
that regard, you know, I think they overachieved. Yeah, you know,
and I think if you really hold me in October

(39:05):
with the two teams on paper, there's a seven game
series between these two and you took away the logo,
I'm picking the leaf side every time. But because of
that logo, it's you know, it's different feelings, right, the
Leafs always choked. The Bruins somehow seem to get it done.
But if you really think about it, while the Bruins
have been so competitive over the past fifteen years, they

(39:27):
haven't had that much playoff success. It feels like they've
won more than they really have. If that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
No, I think that's pretty fair. It's follow the money
here on Vson the Sports Betty Network. Johnny Lazarus, our
guest you can read them at vson dot com with
the betting content all the time, every single day here
with the network. Okay, so then your initial thoughts on
the series price between Carolina and the Rangers.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Hurricanes opened up around a dollar forty.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
It has since moved up to about a buck sixty,
maybe even a touch higher in some spots.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
What do you think of that?

Speaker 6 (40:00):
You guys are asking the wrong guy, because obviously I'm
going with the Rangers, right, yes, yeah, but but again,
like you know, bias aside, I don't know how.

Speaker 11 (40:09):
The President's Trophy winner with wholeice advantage is the underdog, Like.

Speaker 6 (40:14):
Makes that make sense to me? You know, I've been
trying not to be a homer, you know, like I
just said, But like, if I'm looking at this from
the outside, I don't really understand it. Like the Rangers
to me, you know, they averaged about the same amount
of goals as Carolina. Igorshusercan is certainly the better goaltender
in the series. The Rangers power play, you know, was

(40:36):
just as good as Carolina's.

Speaker 11 (40:38):
Essentially they both averaged you know, or at twenty six
percent on the regular season.

Speaker 6 (40:42):
Like the only edge you give Carolina in this series
is the penalty kill. But it's not only it's that
much better than the Rangers. So I've been trying to
make sense of this because you got the team that
was the best in the NHL, the got the home ice,
they won.

Speaker 10 (40:57):
The season series.

Speaker 6 (40:59):
I don't know there of the underdogs. So if I'm
betting on this series, I think you just have to
fild the Rangers based on the side that this is
most likely at coin.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Flip under five and a half. Both Ranger wins were
one nothing in two to one.

Speaker 6 (41:13):
Yeah, I mean, you know, I think whenever you go,
you know, you know what's funny. Actually, so the Hurricanes,
to me, they've always been.

Speaker 11 (41:20):
Like an under team, but the Islanders first round series,
there is a lot of scoring in that round and
last year.

Speaker 6 (41:26):
Was like the total opposite. So they've kind of lost
my trust right now when it comes to unders. But
I'd have to think with the way Freddy Anderson played
in Round one and how good at Usia Sikan's been
since All Star break, Yeah, I think there won't be
a lot of pucks getting past those two.

Speaker 3 (41:40):
Okay, did Vancouver blow their opportunity here? Led one nothing
with under ten minutes left to close out in Nashville
Game six tonight. What has happened with the shots on goal?
Eighteen twelve twenty one twenty shots on goal last four
games for Vancouver? Can they close it out? What do
you think tonight?

Speaker 2 (41:59):
Also?

Speaker 3 (41:59):
I think the five happens too high in this game.

Speaker 6 (42:02):
Yeah, it's absolute insanity. And both goalies again have been
playing pretty well in the series, even though they haven't
been tested as much as they should be. But I
also don't know if Casey de Smith is starting tonight,
So I'm waiting to see who Vancouver starts, if it's
going to be she loss or the Smith. And I
know demko' is obviously out for the series. But you

(42:23):
st Sorrows had a big game, big performance in Game five.
But these are things too that we talk about, right
Sometimes there's you know, games within the game and outside
factors that play into what happens in the game. The
Vancouver Canucks for going home up three to one first
time in nine years, they're really in the playoffs. I
don't count the bubble, you know, so I think the
guy sometimes, you know, I've heard from a lot of

(42:45):
former players and I've been I've been talking about this
a little bit more lately. When you have a chance
to close out a series on game on home ice,
in game five, the home team, for whatever reason, always
feels more pressure than the team down three to one,
because you know this is your chance and you don't
want to go back to the to the other team's
home rink, you know, up three two, giving them the momentum.
That's what happened here in Toronto, Boston, That's what happened

(43:07):
with Nashville Vancouver. So I think Nashville has all the
momentum in the world tonight, knowing that they ruined a
party in Game five in Vancouver. And not only do
I look at Nashville tonight, but I look at Nashville
for the series. You know, I think they were the
better team, I think in games three and four on
home ice, and they let that Game four slip away.

(43:29):
So you talk about Vancouver letting one slip away, but
Nashville really let one slip away, you know, up three
to one and three minutes left in the game and
they lose in overtime. I mean, that was that was rough.
And to be fully honest, I had Nashville money line
in one of my parlays. It was the only leg
that didn't hit with a won four k, So that
was a Sunday scary Sunday scaries for me on that one.

Speaker 11 (43:49):
But yeah, I really like Nashville tonight, and I actually
like them in the series now in general, I think
all all the momentum is on their side.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
All right, Johnny, Like thirty seconds here, then, is that
your best bet for tonight? And do you have any
and you're on the stars Golden Night's game.

Speaker 6 (44:02):
Nashville money line is my best bet for tonight. The
article will be coming out a little bit later here,
and the Vegas Dallas game, that one just scares the
crap out of me. I'm going to stay away from
the sides on that one. That series has been incredible,
but it's so unpredictable in the same sense. So if
I'm betting that game, you know, I'd probably stay away
to be honest, And it's going to be entertaining as

(44:23):
hell without the bet. So I just watched that game
or enjoyed the good hockey without a bet on it.
But I'd go National money line all day.

Speaker 3 (44:29):
All right?

Speaker 4 (44:29):
Good enough?

Speaker 5 (44:30):
You can read Johnny again at Visin dot com with
NHL Analysis and also hosts of the Daily Faceoff as well.
