Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is season's Daily Morning Best.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
All right, We're going to start with the Minnesota t Wolves,
Denver Nuggets, and then the defending champs four and a
half point favorites total of two pH seven and a half.
And will when I look at this series, yeah, Anthony Edwards,
and I would say the energy and the athleticism of
the Minnesota t Wolves is really exciting and I think
a lot of people would be fired up to see

(00:28):
the t Wolves possibly take down the Champs. I still
think experience, I'll say basketball IQ and experience in the
home court's going to mean a lot here. It's going
to be enough to put the Nuggets over the top,
but it's probably going to take seven games to do it.
How do you analyze the Minnesota Denver series?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, I do give Minnesota a realistic chance. Even though
if I had to pick right now, I picked Denver
to come out of the West. I pick Denver to
win it all. Like a lot of people, I've been
kind of out of it about that for a long time.
Timberwolves are scary. The timber Wolves, if you have future
tickets on Denver, are really scary. That being said, I
like them more plus one and a half games, just
because you don't have to win the series, you just

(01:06):
have to get to a Game seven. You cast your
ticket than I do anything otherwise, I'm nervous about taking them,
even though I'm optimistic about Minnesota's chances. I think it's
a good match up with them with their size, with
their length. Murray's not maybe one hundred percent, who knows.
I just worry game one that they're going to go
from playing a Phoenix team that just did not have
their their stuff together, that was completely dysfunctional, disorganized. Now

(01:28):
you're going to go to Denver who's completely buttoned up altitude.
You know Denver is going to be ready, focus, motivated,
They're going to have their stuff together. So I do
worry about that from Minnesota standpoint. But I think this
is a good series. I think this is a long series.
At the end of the day, I think the Nuggets
win it, but I do think they win it in seven.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I think we're on the same page here with this.
I'm not sure how I want to play Game one.
I'm probably not going to play Game one unless I
lie bet it and I see something during the game
on Saturday night, so say, you know, hey, I got
to jump in here and grab this number. But I
feel like the Nuggets are going to find a way
to get there because basketball IQ and experience count for
a lot when you get in these long NBA playoff series,

(02:09):
and so does coaching. And I give the Nuggets, you know,
an edge in all those categories. And I think something
you said there is important too. It's a step up
in class, right. The t Wolves are taking a step
up in class after facing a i'll say a clumsy
Sums team and now facing the defending champs. It's going
to be a totally different series. So how do you

(02:30):
plan to bet this? If you do series or Game one?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Timberwolves plus one and a half games for the series,
So if it goes seven, I win, no matter what
happens in game seven.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
My co host Monday through Thursday, Wes Reynolds said the
same thing. So you guys both like the t Wolves
plus one and a half games in the series. This
is not a Saturday game, but it actually starts Monday.
Let's talk about it tonight because you can play it
over the weekend. The Pacers Knicks series New York at a
home in Game one, a six point favorite total was

(03:00):
two sixteen and a half. I like the Knicks and
the series, how about you.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I was shocked DraftKings open this Knicks minus two to
five for the series and they were six and a
half point favorites for Game one, which doesn't add up
the math of that. The two five was light. I
mean it's minus three hundred. His other books were up
to minus two forty five with draftings. I actually still
think that's kind of light. I like Nicks minus one
and a half games. I just think there's a toughness,
a physicality with the Knicks that's really going to be

(03:26):
tough for the Pacers to match. PACER's a little bit
of a softer team. Halliburton is not like great second
half of the year with the hamstring injury. Some interesting
subplots in the series. Obi Toppin was drafted by the Knicks.
Now he plays on the Pacers. The Knicks didn't draft
Tyres Haliburton. Instead they drafted topping You got the battle
of the couple of raptors here with Siakam who's on
the Pacers, and Andobi who's on the Knicks. Both those

(03:48):
midseason trades. I just like I said, I think there's
a physicality, grittiness with the Knicks, with those Villanova kids,
with Thibodeau, that's just going to be too much for Indiana.
And I think it's good for the Knicks year that
they get three days off off because they were basically
playing with sick guys, six and a half guys the
past couple of nights, the three Nova guys, An Andobi
in the two bigs. Now they get three a's to
recharge their batteries, and I just think they get both

(04:09):
in the garden. They're going to have a great home crowd,
maybe get a split in Indiana and win something like five.
I just I think this is a Knick series. I
think they win a relatively short series here.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Okay, it's interesting you mentioned Haliburton and Obi top and
also Anthony Edwards. He was the number one pick. They
were all lottery picks in that twenty twenty draft, which
is not really a good draft. But Anthony Edwards has
turned out to be legit as the superstar at the
top of that twenty twenty draft. I like the next
two and I'll tell you something else I like about

(04:38):
the Knicks. How about the Villanova Big Three? Jalen Bronson
Josh Hart, Dante de Vincenzo. Those guys were tough players
in college or tough players in the NBA. And I
love to see those Knicks big three from Villanova stick
it to the Sixers in Philadelphia. Man, how would Philly
fans like to flip the script on that and have

(05:00):
those guys starting for their team instead of for the Knicks.
It's just ironic that they took out the Philadelphia seventy
six ers in that series.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
It sure is. And this is a New York type
of team. And you can tell New York that crowd
they love these guys. I mean, that's just a New
York style, gritty, tough, defensively, tough minded. And give the
NIXT credit. I mean the Knicks wordge in such dysfunction
for basically twenty years, with the exception of year here
and there, and you figure if they're going to dig out,
they're going to dig out because they get lucky and
they get the number one pick and they get Zion

(05:29):
or they get Durant or Lebronic come there, they can
get any of those things that got there where they
just play little move after a little move, smart signing,
smart draft pick, good picks late in the draft. Just
savvy move and they've actually become a functional organization and
dug themselves out. Now not a championship team, but they've
got all their picks, They've got the room to make
a move here going forward, and just a good gritty
team here.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
All right, Let's go to hockey Stanley Cup playoffs in
the Vegas Golden Knights force a game seven, but that's
not going to be on Saturday. Let's talk about the
game seven Boston and Toronto and the Bruins home minus
one forty two at DraftKings total of five and a half.
You're gonna look at the side or the total in
the Maple Leafs Bruins game.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
I just hope you're not going to ask me the
name of the starting lineups for either team. I'm going
to go under though. Look, this is just basic sports
betting strategy. It's game seven, whether it's the NBA NHL,
tough physical refs want to swallow whistle. Refs don't want
to be the one to decide things. I think you
were making the point earlier. And what was it the
Vegas game then eight? They let a lot of stuff go,
or maybe it was Randy making that point game sevens
you can rarely go wrong playing under I'm going to

(06:27):
go under the five and a half here.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah, And that Dallas Vegas game six tonight, I thought
there were several penalties that could have been called. We
could have seen power play opportunities, and the refs were
swallowing the whistle and letting them play. And I like that,
and typically that's what you see in these type of games.
So under five and a half is your play in
Toronto Boston, right, yes, all right, let's go to baseball.

(06:50):
Take a look to the Saturday cards. If we can
come up with a couple of games worth handicapping for tomorrow. Well,
let's start actually with the Braves Dodgers game. And the
Braves got the best record in the National League. Despite
losing an extra innings tonight, they are twenty and ten.
Elder against Glass Now is the matchup? And how about

(07:11):
this Dodgers opening as high as minus one seventy. That's
tempting to take that dog price with the Atlanta Braves.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
It sure is now. Glassnew certainly is a better pitcher
than Elder, but not too many times you get to see, well,
not too many times you get to see the Braves
with a plus sign period, but a plus one forty
something signing it plus one forty two here at DraftKings.
I think that line in front of us was maybe
Friday nights game Braves are getting more than minus one
away Brazer plus one forty two here on Saturday. That's
a good price.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I think DraftKings you got Dodgers minus one seventy and
Circles got minus one seventy three. So yeah, you get
a fat plus price with the Braves. If you want
to take the dog in that one, I might play
the favorite here. So I talked about how I like
the Oakland A's on Friday night, but didn't that really
want to lay that big price? It was one thirty
five overnight bet up to one fifty five. Well they

(07:58):
got there behind JP. How about Paul Blackburn in the
A's against the Marlins. Rogers is going to be the starter.
Much better price here. I'm seeing anywhere from minus one
eighteen to one twenty two in the market. If you
if you want to back the Oakland A's to win
back to back games against Miami, this would.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Put Oakland at five hundred. I mentioned earlier at DraftKings,
you can Oakland at two hundred to one to be
the sixth seed in the playoffs if you want to
just a fun pizza bet, coffee bet, something to root
for the summer. I don't think that's a terrible but honestly,
and hey, if you win this your five hundred. Blackburn's
an underrated pitcher and the A's to me or just
one of these teams, the market hasn't caught up to
how I don't won't say how good they are, but

(08:35):
how underrated they are. And remember the Marlins traded Luis
Aria as their best hitter before the game or during
the game on Friday, so I don't know if that's
accounting front of the line. I just think this is a
good number for the A's, good bullpenpes I'll play the
full game. I like the A's in the spot.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Hider too, and I like Paul Blackburn. He's got a
one O nine whip At this point after six starts,
he's two and one thirty five innings, twenty eight strikeouts,
has only walked nine. Like I said, a one O
nine whip three thirty four are He's got a respectable
starting rotation, and I think that's one short favorite I've
looked back on the baseball card on Saturday. All right,
that's a look at the Vsen Daily Morning Bets
