Speaker 1 (00:03):
I want this not to be about a pretty co
ed who got murdered. That can't be the story. The
story has to be about a real person. In the
final weeks of summer, Tammy Ziwicki was getting ready to
start her senior year of college. Tammy was always there

(00:24):
for a laugh. She wasn't judgmental. She was a very fun,
adventurous person who was open to new experiences. She was
tough and just really resilient. The twenty one year old
set off on a multi day cross country drive, headed
west from her home in suburban New Jersey to Grinnell
College in Iowa. While passing through Illinois, something went wrong.

(00:51):
Mama eight three her conquict and she disappeared. Tammy supposed
to be on campus and she's not here, and people
are starting to get worried. I'mm William Phelps, an investigative journalist,
true Prime, author of more than forty books, and the
host of Paper Ghosts. This season, I'm investigating the mysterious

(01:13):
disappearance and brutal murder of Tammy's a wiki. They just
kept telling us from the beginning. Shellis she'll be back.
She'll be back, he said, don't say anything. I just
want you to listen. They found a body in Missouri.
It's a story that shook me to my core. And
the closer I looked, the more troubling things I found.

(01:34):
The guy basically exploded on me and made all kinds
of declarations that I might have something to do with
the case. People were all of a sudden, everybody was
asking questions, and he just disappeared. There was a lot
of physical evidence that had never been analyzed. My name
from with the FBI and a jump in Missouri. And

(01:54):
when you have an opportunity, did you please give me
a call back. The best lead, the best information, the
best evidence, the best witness we ever developed in this
case was blown off right here. This is the Keltain
season three of paper Ghosts in Plain Sight. Listen on
