Speaker 1 (00:01):
And normally this is our closing remarks, but earlier today
we had eighty five South on the show, and I
asked DC to stick around and the fellas to stick around.
They've been here all morning with me, crazy, crazy morning.
I wanted to talk to DC about his life right now.
First of all, we offer all of us here on
the Steve Harvey Morning Show off you our condolences on

(00:24):
your loss and Man, but what I wanted to say
was I saw the moment that you had at your
girls home going and the speech you gave, and I
gotta say something to you.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Man.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I don't think I could do it. I don't think
I have that fiber. I might, but I don't think
I did it. I watched your speech, Man, probably six times.
I knew you had a relationship with God, but I
did not know it was.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
That type of relationship.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
And after listening to your speech, Man, I realized, I said, Man,
this dude, right here, God got a place in his
heart that if you weren't aware of it, you have
to be now because that can only be God. With
this speech you gave, Man, and I just wanted to
say to you, Dc, I commend you on your strength. Man,
and I think you don't know it, man, but you

(01:23):
really did something for a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
So I just wanted to tell you, man, from all
of us here to Steve Harvey Morning Show man, how
important you are, not only to your culture, but you
crossed a lot of barriers because I'm sixty six, man,
and I learned something from your young ass that day.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
I learned how powerful God really was. Man.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
I did not know that God could give you that
kind of strength, man. And so for you and your family,
man or we wish you nothing but the best, and
you had young children and everything, man, and you're.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Just a powerful dude. Man. I just want to say
that to you.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
I appreciate it, and you know it's a touching subject
and I ain't I'm not ready too fun and just
talking about it. It was just anyone, but you are
God fearing man as well. And I learned a lot
from you. So you know, I feel like we on
a certain level spiritually where this conversation can be talked
about and we know the energy that when you talk

(02:22):
I said it off air that yeah, I see the shows,
but I like when you go off air and you
could be real because you get to cry and talk
to the people and be you give them the game,
and you always implement God and everything you do, and
you always let them know.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't
for God. You see what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
So I grasps that every time you talk, and it
was one of the moments. Well, I mean still to
this day when somebody asks, I ain't got the answer
from God? Fearing you feel men, I leave by the spirit,
not by the flesh. You know, you gotta human mind,
and you got a spirit mind, and there's no human

(03:05):
secret way of dealing with things, especially when real life
hits you.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
And I think a lot of people don't know real life.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yeah, all right, we'll be back with Chico being Carlos
Miller and DC Young flies right after this. You're listening.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Morning show.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Hey, we're back, everybody.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Earlier today we had eighty five South on the show,
and I asked DC to stick around and the fellas
to stick around. They've been here all morning with me.
I wanted to talk to DC. I did not know
how powerful God really was.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Man.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
You may can create how your life can go today,
but you don't know where your life gonna go tomorrow.
And once I learned it, I can't control life and
the thing that's around it, but I can't control my spirit.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
That's one thing I do got control over.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Somebody may hit your car today, but they can't control
how you act off being hit, see what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
So it's like, yeah, I've been ducking in dodging, but
I still got hit. You can drive as safe as possible.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
But you still get hit, and it's on you to
maneuver and show people when do you get hit, what
you're gonna do. And like I said, it's just it's
an unfortunate situation and my life is on display, so
it's like they're watching. But what I also understand my calling.
And once you understand your calling, you understand that it's
bigger than you. You know, cause day today, I don't

(04:34):
know what I'm gonna do, but I just thank God
I still got my mind to figure it out. You
feel me, and it's like I ain't got all the answer.
And as a human, everybody has an emotional side and
that's just the science in them. But when you know
God and you know all the things that He done
brought you through before and It's like I never question
brule number one. If you're a firm believer in hey man,

(04:56):
you don't question the things that happened in your life.
I was landing in the bed the of other day.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
I was like, why me? And then some said, well,
well why not you?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
If he wanted to give the battle to oh boyding them,
he could have gave it to oh boying them. But
old boy ain't he quipped.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, he ain't.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
He he can't fight this and he's not ready. And
not only that, that's not his job. I got a
job for you, So I need for you to finish
carry it out.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
And if you study the Bible, and if you read
the Bible, they already showing you how to keep going.
You got to take those stories from all the kings
and all the prophets, and you like, okay, if they
can go through it, then I could go through it.
And if they could keep their faith, I could keep
their faith, because I read it right here, say well,
if he who kept his faith, and he who kept

(05:47):
going God kept.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
His faith on him, why would I turn if the
book to come on? The book told me. The book
told me. So if I'm living by the book, I'm.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Gonna die by the book. I'm a walk by the book,
and I'm gonna talk by the book. And I'm sitting
here and say, yeah, I'm emotional. Yeah, this is a
forever trip.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Forever.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
This is a forever trip. But I got my shoes on,
I got my chin up, and I.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Got my chest hot because I know that if we
are the example, Joseph didn't complain when he was the example.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
And I'm learning from Joseph. So somebody got to learn
from me, and they got to know the only way
is the higher power.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
See man, for you to be at this age house,
and I'm telling you, you're teaching people who are much
older than you. Brother, listen to me, because I know
I done seen this hammer hit some people before I
done seen how they handle it.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
There's no manual for grief. Ain't no book you can read,
you know. I hate I hate people coming up to me.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Man, when I lose somebody important, my mama, my daddy,
my brother, my best friend. Hearing a better place, Hang
in there, It'll be all right.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Now, man, What is you talking about? What you mean
better place?

Speaker 1 (07:08):
My Mama's better place when she's upstairs in the rock
and hill By refrigerator. That's my mama's better place. You
could talk to me about a better place, man. And
people say all these traditional things to you because they
don't know what to say.

Speaker 6 (07:18):
Man, I don't know what to say. When is your
problem for the living?

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Come on, man, it really is.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
If it is a problem for the living, we are
responsible for carrying on the legacy and the memory of
the people who are no longer here.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
But that is a test.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
That is you know, a lot of people don't know
what that test is because you never had to take
it in the capacity that you know.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Just the bigger picture is the bigger picture what people
feel to realize, and this is this is it.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
I gotta make sure I solidify my spot in heaven.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I get to it, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
So if this is my my fight, then I gotta fight.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
I want to make sure that when my time is up,
I look at my heavenly father and I said, I
swell on everything.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
I tried to live. Look, look, look I did not
from you. They tried everything. Watch the enemy keep coming.
Did I not do my best?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Come on, I know, I said, little by my spot and.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
You got to and the beautiful thing is He's prepared
this place for us. But he also full warned us
that there are none perfect, no not one. So if
ain't nobody perfect, and there's none perfect, no, not one,
then what is it a heaven? For heaven gonna be
filled with a lot of imperfect people, but who gave

(08:40):
it their best shot, who tried to do the best
they can. I get tired of people coming to me.
You are Christian, you was cussomed, You are Christian. You
smoke the cigars Christian, don't smoke cigard this one, do this?
Christian does both of those. And I have an occasional
drink too, And I punch people in the mouth if
you say something.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Mama, you know, I'm just I'm just here.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
What Christian I am? You want a Christian turn the
other cheek. I'm pretty sure they're out here. I'm entry
level Christianity. I don't do advanced Christianity. If you do that,
then cool, I got that other thing for you. I'm
gonna be the dude at the gate. Might have to
have a little meeting when we get at the gate,
but don't let me in. We're gonna have to go
over a couple he gonna run a couple of clips.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Back and had to go, Yeah, that one.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
Might the man Cave of Heaven, but from the way
you put your man, it's gonna be straight when you
get up.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
All the way.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
