Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, Jason, I hear you because and look, you
joke around a lot about how ten years ago you
met him and then just moved in, which you did do,
and then he pays all the bills, which he does do,
and then that you're getting right is full lesbian. Yeah,
but the truth is you do a lot for him,
and he loves you very much.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
I know that he does.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
But I can see why because you sort of because
of how it all happened. I can see how you
want the validation from the other side of him saying
after all these years, I really did want you to
do that, right, and I really do want you here,
which he does, I know he does, but like I
can understand why you would want him to do that
based on how things have sort of happened.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Right, Like I forced myself this far, Like I we
joked about it, but you didn't. I mean, he's you
both made a choice to be there. I mean, yeah,
he makes the choice every day and I kicked me out.
But like, you know, you're right, I would like him
to like actually be sure that like this is what
he wants forever and it's not like me making all
the moves and like forcing myself into his house.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
I get passed forever, like I think, gardless, it's forever.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
I mean, you've been there for eleven eleven years.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Year, twelve years, next month.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
Civilly is that the word civic?
Speaker 2 (01:08):
That's not hell?
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Girl.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
I looked it up. We're going to die for you.
Mike looked it up too. Actually he looked it up
about around Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Yeah, I wish Illinois was that kind.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Of yeah, let's get down squad long enough.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
I get mailed there and years ago, getting mailed there
for like a year, you know, yeah, wait it up
before you both.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Now I'm with you. Validation is huge for me.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, and I know, I know it's like, you know,
I might be surprised you to some people. For somebody
who just relatively outspoken, I really like to hear. I
don't know. Maybe it's maybe some weird insecurity. I don't know,
but I really like to hear from the person. I
like that they like me.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
It's not just like materialistic too, like he has so
much more than I do, but it's also like an
emotional thing to do.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
You guys know that rito Aura proposed to her husband.
She was the one who proposed. She literally got down
on one meet and proposed and.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
She's so hot, I mean, oh my god, so hot
and that thing. She just can't imagine a world with that,
I know absolutely. What's your love language?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
All of them? Yes, yeah, I need all of them, but.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
For real, mind is words of affirmation through and through,
Like even growing up, my parents telling me that they're
proud of me, my parents and that's that was number one. Yeah,
my dad or my grandfather telling me they were proud
of me was number one, But it was it was
just reassurance, you know what I mean. The gifts, whatever
time spent, that's cool, that's probably number two.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
What are the other ones? Us of service? Of service?
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, touch, sure, I'll take it. We don't have to.
I'll touch myself. It's it's fine. Can you tell me
you like me? Then I can handle the rest. Yeah yeah,
I guess so. But really though, if you okay, since
they're all your your love languages, and what would you
say is number one?
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Hmmm? Probably acts of service because I don't know.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
That's that's big Tim's love language, like he does, he
shows his love by acts of service to me, that's
his biggest thing. Like he is a very much act
of service. Now, he's not a reinsurer whatever what is
it called?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
You talk? Oh, well, yeah, he loves you all the time,
not like.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Not every five minutes now, But he's like a very
much like you know what, he knows what I need.
It's always done. He's always going to take care of me,
my family, my nephews. Like, he's very much a acts
of service type of guy.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
My therapist told me that recently too, by the way,
which it was an interesting thing to to consider. I
never really had before. But she was like, you know,
you're at wards of information guy. Sometimes people can't give
you that as quickly as you'd like it. So then
you then what you do is pay attention to their behavior.
I don't know if you actions. I don't think she
used the word behavior, but she was like, maybe people
(04:03):
aren't ready to tell you what you want to hear
when you want to hear it. But but sometimes they'll
show you what you want to hear by the way
they behave.
Speaker 8 (04:12):
You don't agree, No, no, I agree, And I live
with that. So my partner does that. He won't tell me,
but he'll show me. And that's this thing. He'll be like,
but I'm here I'm sitting here, I'm still listening, and
like he's not walking away, he's not running away from me,
but speak I'm gonna shake you, say the words.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
But he won't know. He won't tell you he loves you.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
No, no to say he love me.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
But like I'm don't about like a fight, right, like
I'm sorry or whatever.
Speaker 8 (04:33):
He won't say it, but he'll show me he's sorry.
But I don't know how to receive that because I'd
rather hear it. It's weird, right, It's.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Like no, but it's like okay, right, right, No, Sometimes
I want someone to say, like I like you, I
want to be here whatever. But then what But but
if I and I want that now, I want it
like immediately, yeah, so that I don't feel like I
look stupid, so I don't feel like I'm further in right,
But then a lot of people, most people can't do that.
They don't do that. But then it's like they put
(05:00):
up with my s for a long time, you know
what I mean, Like they really put up with it
in their patients, And I think, Okay, well, this person's
obviously invested, because otherwise they would just hang up the
you know whatever. They would just not do it, you know,
but what's yours? What's your words of affirmation or physical touch?
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Yeah, yeah, probably one of those. I think words of
affirmation and then physical touch. I also love a good
act of service.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
But yeah, yeah, Jason, pay the bills.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Really that would be number one.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
I mean honestly, I mean I don't know, so I
feel like might have gotten so like blurred because like
I've gotten used to how Mike shows affect, right, so
then I've gotten used to like that's how I accepted,
so like, now that's what I need. Like at the beginning,
it was very much words of affirmation, like let's talk
it out, let's like whatever, And now it's like I understand, Okay,
(05:55):
you're saying sorry by doing X, y Z, or you
say or you do this or whatever. So then it's
almost like, okay, well now I accept that and that
fulfills me.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
So it's weird.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
So right now it's probably acts of service because that's
how he expresses, if that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
If I had to bet, you're an act of service guy,
Oh yeah, me, that's how you you.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
You give acts of service. You probably like gifts though.
Speaker 9 (06:16):
I know I like giving gifts, you know, what I'm saying, like,
like my love language is giving gifts whatever, like whatever,
like spoiling Jests with gifts for her birthday.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
But you love doing stuff for other people that you
care about like love.
Speaker 9 (06:30):
I do, But I also like, what's the other one?
Words of affirmation, like I like to be like a
good job.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I'm saying, that's what you want people to say to you?
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Yes, OKAYT Yeah, yeah, because.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I've seen you around Jess, And I remember the first
time I really saw it, she was pregnant. We did
something top golf or something, and it was like you
were just doing everything for her, and I'm like, I've
never seen this. I've never seen a side of you
because I've never really seen you, know because normally it's
like buying me a drink.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
And I'm not paying for you, Like.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I'll take the most expensive thing on the menu and
then and then I get alligator.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
It's on the paint. No, it's interesting, that's interesting.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I think it's a valuable exercise if people, if you've
never done it before, to think about what you expect,
what you want, what you thrive on, and then what
you give people. And the truth is that what you
what you want and what you're giving maybe two totally
different things, but it could really change everything if you
if you're not giving the right thing or you're not
emphasizing the right thing for the other person.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
Yes, how you show love is not always how you
like to receive.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, you got to love your person in their love language.
Speaker 8 (07:28):
I actually have a really great link my friend sent
me yesterday speaking of the love language quiz.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
You can post it. People want to know, you should.
I think it's valuable. Anyway, next time, doctor Phil, I'm
actually doctor Phil. I heard was retiring or something. I'm
taking over. I just want you to know. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
I'm going to do a little with Texas accent and
the whole thing, believe it or not. Ten minutes ago,
I played the What's Trending intros. So I had a
(07:54):
radio guy called Billy, a kid called me yesterday. It
was our friend in Dallas, and he's like, well, I
won't say what you want doing, but he was not
happy about something and so, and he says, you don't
like your show. He goes like, I listened today and
I don't really know what you guys were talking about,
but I liked it and I was like, yeah, that's
that sounds about right.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Put that in our bios. Literally, He's like, I don't
even know what you guys are doing. It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
I just liked it, you know, but we're doing it exactly.
I was like, well, I'm glad you liked it because
I don't. I don't even know what you heard or why.
He's like something about f Mary kill. I'm like, yeah,
I think that was supposed to be something else, but
it doesn't matter. You know, it is what it is.
That's why you got to listen all the time. You
got to pay attention, you got to stay focused because
you just never know which direction we might go. And
next segment is about brain surgery. Caitlin's going to tell
(08:38):
us all about the frontal lobe.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
I got you.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Oh yeah, I'm wanting to repeat business.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Then for you.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
The eighteen twenties, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
That's what they do to women hysteria, hysterical women.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
Yeah, that's when they take your uterus out.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Oh well no, I know that, but I thought that
that's how they treated I thought that they treated at
one point women's It was a fun fact she was.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
They thought if a woman was crazy, taking her uterus
would make her less crazy. That's why it's called a
hysterectomy to this day.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
There was a brain component early on where they thought
that you guys were acting anyway.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
You used to be able to say a woman was
crazy and then she'd get locked up without really much
more question.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, now you say that and you get punched in
the face. So yeah, they talk better than the excited.
These are the radio blogs on The Fresh Show. All right,
like we're writing in our diaries, except we say them aloud.
We call them blogs. Caitlin, Yes, ready, yes, take it away.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Dear blog. So I'm working on me every day, every
single damn day. But recently I did something that was
so it might have been my worst example of people pleasing.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Yet and I've been doing it for thirty two years,
so that's saying a lot.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
But I was at a friend's house recently, just hanging
out during the day, and her husband ended up coming
home and he was cooking dinner already for them, and like,
didn't you know know I was going to be there,
But he was so kind to make me a plate, okay,
And it wasn't a situation where it was like do
you like what I'm making or anything? He just made
(10:19):
it and I thought it was so nice and I
was so honored. But I don't I death like I
do not like salmon. I cannot miss okay, And he
made salmon.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
And just I thought you were going to say that
it was beef, and I know you don't eat beef,
so I thought you were about to say that you
just choked down some beef.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
That one I could not do.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
But salmon, I don't know what it is about cooked fish,
like it makes me so sick, like I just can't.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
I can eat it with sushi. I don't know why.
I wish I liked it because it's so good for you.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Anyways, So he made salmon and made me a whole play,
and I just couldn't bring myself to say that I
don't like salmon because it was such a nice thing
to do.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
So you ate that you ate it.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
So I choked down the salmon, and it was every
single bite you guys. I was holding my breath.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
I was holding my breath and I wouldn't even chew
because I hated so much. So I would just hold
my breath and then just swallow it. Hole and then
like drink really fast. I must have had tears.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Coming down my face. Why couldn't I just say that
I don't like salmon?
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Well, because that's it wasn't like there was a choice,
right right, And I.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Feel like I don't know.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I guess I didn't know salmon was so universal, maybe
because I'm a picky eater.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
I always ask people like do you like this? Do
you eat this? Do you have any restrictions?
Speaker 4 (11:32):
If I'm making something or buying groceries if someone's in town.
So I didn't realize salmon was like everybody likes it.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
How could you know?
Speaker 1 (11:39):
I think you could have said, like, I'm I just ate,
I'm really not hungry, so that he didn't make it
for you at all.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
I was there all day, so like my friend knew
I hadn't ate that day.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
So that's the problem. Is like if it's a surprise deal,
you're getting what they have. Of course, you know what
I'm saying, Like I suppose if ahead of time they
were having you over for dinner, yeah, they might say like, hey,
are you cool with that? Because I think I would
probab probably asked somebody if I were cooking, do you
like this? Before I made it. But in that situation,
you got to eat whatever's in front of you. That's
just that's the burden.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yeah, it was so bad.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
And my friend was like, look like he put the
best glaze on it his salmon and sog like. She
was going on and on about the salmon. So I.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
It was karaokee salmon.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
I like.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
You so yeah, so you would never done it.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Well, I have done this before. I know how you feel,
but I'm mad. I'm more mad at you wasted that
good piece of salmon. You should have been like, you
know what, I'm gonna take this home and brought it
to us.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
I've tried it.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
You know.
Speaker 6 (12:39):
My friends were vegan and they were very excited to
cook me vegan pizza. And we went and she spent
all this money and she put all this work in there,
and I'm like, girl, this looks like play though.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Like the cheese ain't milt, you know, it's just looks fake.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
Cagan cheese doesn't melt.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Yeah, And I tried to eat it, but girl, after
one bite, I was like, well, at least you tried it.
I try.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
That's true with all that stuff. By the way, is
that I don't have any issue with like meat substitute.
I don't have any problem with any of it. It's
just a lot of it that I have tried just
doesn't taste good. Right, So people will be like, oh,
what's your problem with this or that. I'm like, I
don't like trust me. I actually wish a lot of
that appealed to me because it's healthier and better for
the environment and whatever else. I mean, I do like
(13:20):
a steak, but like, if you could prevent if you
could present me something it looks and tastes and has
the same texture as steak and it's not truly I
would eat it. But for the people who were like, oh,
cauliflower pizza, that you ever had a pizza before, because
that ain't pizza exactly.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
That's a whole different dish.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Yeah, I mean I'll try everything.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
I just you got to have an imagination for that stuff,
Like you got to imagine that you buite it in
so a piece of chicken. But I think you did
a nice thing by eating it. I would have just
kept chopping it up, you know, like just keep on
chopping it up.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Like when you're a kid, you just keep moving it
around the place.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yeah, I do that at restaurants, if I don't like something,
I try to make it look like I ate it,
and then I'll hide a piece on somebody else's plate because.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
I feel that the waiter doesn't care.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (13:58):
I have a dog dogs. It's actually good for your core.
Is next frend show, The Friend Show? It feels good.
What are you double sounds level? That sounds triple. That
(14:18):
sounds low to me. Good news, Hey goods on the show.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
You guys overestimate you way overestimate my capabilities.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
But you're like, well Tamberlain holding up one hundred times anyway,
so this is great good stuff.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Hey, yes, I will, I'll save you from this fun.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Megan Crafty recently got surgery for a brain tumor at
Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital excuse me. And after processing, you know,
the diagnosis and the surgery, it all kind of happened fast.
She was just really upset about missing her homecoming dance
that weekend. So when the caregivers caught wind of this,
they sprang into action and designed a special Christmas themed
homecoming dance.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
Just for Megan. That's her favorite holiday, I.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Guess, And they planned it for the same day and
same time as here on high school's homecoming, so she could,
you know, feel like she was there. Her mom said
that she was so excited knowing that she was still
going to get to wear her beautiful pink dress and
celebrate on that day. She got in her dress, and
that's not where the surprise ended, because her boyfriend Thomas
Wilson showed up and the nurses even got her you know,
(15:29):
a boot near for him and a corsage, and she.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
Teared up when she saw Tommy.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
They danced, they ate, they did crafts with her boyfriend,
her parents, her grandparents, and other patients throughout the afternoon,
and the caregivers said that they hope that it eased
the pain, just a little bit of her missing and
missing the real homecoming.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Oh. I know, I don't think we did this story.
But if we did this, pretend like we didn't.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
But we did a story about Brian, the guy who
lost his job and is now mowing everyone's lawn for free.
I love this guy. So, Brian Schwartz is his name.
He's from New Jersey and he started a nationwide movement
to scale kindness after losing his job during the pandemic
and feeling like he wanted to make a positive impact
on the world, so he started a volunteer lawn care
organization to help seniors, that disabled and veterans mow their lawns,
(16:17):
trim their hedges, and cut back their trees.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
He does all of it for free.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
When we help someone like Edna, he says, a dedicated
teacher juggling personal battles, or Peter, a d day veteran
who stormed the beaches of Normandy, it's incredibly, incredibly fulfilling.
Every lawn mode is not just grass cut. It's relief provided,
a burden eased, and a community strengthened. So now he's
got to go fund me and a five A one
to three C. It's called I Want to Mow Your
(16:42):
lawn And they've done two thousand lawns now and he
has volunteers and sponsors and stuff all over the place.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Is that the one with a YouTube channel or no, No,
it's Spencer got it.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
I got to tell you some about Spencer. I love
those videos. Yes, it has being on TikTok it is.
It is so incredible satisfy for a lot of reasons
to watch his videos. I'm amazed though at oftentimes the
lack of expressed appreciation for what the day did. He
literally transforms people's yards, I mean like a jungle, and
then a day later it looks like a like a
(17:14):
model home and people are like okay, and.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
The Bessie goes over the door. What do you want, Oh,
I want to just take care of your lawn. No,
I'm not interested. I'll do it for free, okay. And
then he gets done. They're like, looks good. Well you
can see your sidewalk again. And it's not.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Even like he just I mean, these are like really bad,
overgrown and it's oh okay, I mean probably thousands of
dollars worth of work if somebody else did it for
you as oh all right, And I'm like, no, I
need you to jump up and down, hug this man.
Give me some lemonade, telling me some baking a cake,
tell me some greatest guy I ever lived. But they
don't do that throw back throw it outs next to
(17:52):
the Entertainer Report, will get to the trending stories, Fun
Fact all coming up. It's the Fred Show, Good Morning
back in two minutes after Literary Rodrigo.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
The Fresh Show is on Friend's Fun Fact Fads fun
so much guys, are you ready?
Speaker 1 (18:14):
First of all, I just want an update, a text
updates people are really I just wanted you to know
that this this segment is really sweeping the nation. People
are really in interpreting their ingesting the facts and they're
applying them in their actual lives. And this makes me
so happy because that's what we're here to do as
a public service. This is a text from someone updates
(18:35):
to the fun fact from a couple of months ago
about your gag reflex.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
And holding your thumbs in your own hands.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
I tried this at my dentist as my gag reflex
is really bad, and it seemed to help a lot.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
There may be some truth to it. You're welcome or
you just well you could just do what Kiki, or
you may not to your thumb.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
You gotta grab your thumbs. Make sure we get to
that point. What would you guys get hat a little
participation for you guys today. What would you guys guess
is the highest selling item at Walmart?
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yes? No, nos? No like laundry detergent.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
No, it's the highest on.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
The most popular item at Walmart? What would you guess
that it is? It's not the oder and I can
tell you booze there.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, I think they do. They have guns.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
No, oh yeah, the most the most popular item at
Walmart is bananas. They sell more bananas than any other
single item they have in stock.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
Really weird.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Can I also tell you, and I know this is.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Going to be unpopular for a lot of people who
you have families looking for convenience in their lives. I
do have a bit of an issue buying groceries where
you could also buy socks and rifles.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Oh it's great, Yeah, Walmart is. There's not that I have.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
I'm not picking on Walmart specifically, but it's just I
need to go to a grocery store and I need
to go to like a like a store.
