Speaker 1 (00:00):
Caitlin's Entertainer Report he's on the Fresh Show.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Shout out to the thirteen A bunch of who sent
me this but TikToker. Miranda Derek posted a video yesterday
saying that she's been getting all sorts of nasty comments
and death threats since the release of that Netflix documentary
Dancing for the Devil and if you haven't seen it yet,
the documentary alleges that Miranda and others involved with the
seven M you know, management group, church whatever you want
(00:24):
to call it, led by Robert Shin, are actually brainwashed
and in a cult, and her family claims that his
church and production company is driving a wedge between them.
But yesterday, she says that she has been quietly working
to repair the relationship with her family behind the scenes,
and their involvement in the documentary is now a setback
in that process. Miranda says that she sees her family's
(00:46):
involvement as a direct cause of her getting violent messages
and death threats.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
She also denied being in any.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Sort of a cult and says she isn't brainwashed, but
that seems exactly like what someone who's brainwashing.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
A cult would say. Yeah, so I don't know who
to believe.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
It's from the textbook of brainwashed, right.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I'm not in a cult. I'm not brainwashed. I'm good.
Seems like something.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
That's started watching that last night.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
But you what you think so far?
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I mean it's weird, isn't it sums up? Yeah, I'm
only I'm only part of the way through the second episode. Okay,
so I don't I don't know what I'm about to see.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
But yeah, it's something. Something's up. You're right one direction.
Fans shouldn't hold their breath on a reunion. Simon Cowell,
Are you a wonder grat love them?
Speaker 2 (01:29):
You do?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Simon Cowell was on a podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Your interests often shocked me. No, not girls.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
She loves the Beatles, Yes, big Beatles girl. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
The DeMarcus in there too.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
That's the black Beetle that nobody talks about observes as flowers.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah. You never hear about DeMarcus the Beatle never.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
No, You're fine.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Simon Cowell sadly was on a podcast talking about his
latest search for the next boy band and said that
he doesn't think that one d will ever get back together.
So he did say something interesting that I didn't know
each of the five former band members owns a percentage
of the one D name, which is rare as hell
for that time or any group rather to you know,
have any financial stake in their group. So even if
(02:23):
all but one of them wants to tour, one of
them could hold up everybody. He said he wishes he
owned the entire name because then he could have like
three of them out there doing a little tour for us.
As for his next boy band, he says, I'm doing
it right now because in my opinion, I don't think
a band has been as good as one D since
One D. If you look at the amount of solo
artists versus bands right now in a world of pop music,
(02:43):
it's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
And that's true. We don't really have any groups that
I can even really think.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Of right now, So we'll see how his search goes.
Ryan Reynolds is just the cutest, and he surprised his mom, Tammy,
by taking her to a taping of the View that
aired yesterday. I guess mom is in New York right
now visiting he and Blake Lively's four kids. He told
the ladies yesterday, my mom said, it's my dream to
go to the View, And first off, I try to
do what she says because you don't know what she's
(03:09):
capable of, unspeakable violence my whole life.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
He's obviously joking.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
I didn't want to taste that or the back of
her hand, so I said, let's go to the view,
he said. I made a call and told them I'm
Blake's husband. I'd love to come to the view. Does
that get us a little further? And here we are.
I think my mom might have thought that she was
going to be on the View. Maybe not, I'm not sure.
And there's really cute video of them in the audience,
just like not as guests, they're just sitting there, which
(03:35):
is adorable.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Have you ever attended something? I mean, I would say,
like you went to the clubhouse with Andy Cohen and
I exceeded expectations.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Oh my god, it was the best night of my life.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah. Wasn't one of our former interns that got you
in or something? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah, yeah, you guys hooked it up.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
It was Oh, that was a dream because I sent
my mom to a talk show that will remain nameless
rhymes with felln and nice. I got her in because
at the time I was working for a TV station
that ran the show, and she was the biggest fan. Yeah,
did you figure that one out? I don't want to.
I don't want to. I'm not trying to diss anybody.
But the show rhymes with melon, and I got her in.
(04:13):
And I think that she left disappointed when she was
a huge fan, and I think she left like more
upset really, or kind of upset because I don't think
she found the host to be very likable in person.
I found her to be very off putting, like that
during breaks, like like what according to this particular day?
And you know, I don't I take these celebrity stories
(04:34):
with a grain of salt, because you never know. It's
possible that Melan had had a terrible day, you know,
maybe her staff was suing her or something, and she
came out wasn't in the mood. We've all had days
here where we're not in the mood to do it,
but we do it anyway. And so but apparently a
lot of the like the likability that you see on
the screen is not exactly how it comes off in person,
and she was not very approachable, and so I think
(04:57):
my mom was kind of bombed and she had she
drug my dad and he didn't want to. Yeah, he
had to go. But anyway, I just wonder if you've
ever been to something where you're like I cannot wait
to attend this thing or be near this person, and
then you get there and you're like, this is not
what I wanted.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
I went to Judge mathis a live taping and it
was really a court. Like I thought it was going
to be like, you know, a meet and GREETI in
between cases. Now it was literally like you're sitting in
a courtroom and you cannot get up, you cannot move,
you don't talk, you know, you just sit there and
look at court.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
So like they don't have producers going head say this
or say that.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
No, and I thought it was going to be that,
and I thought we were going to get some ming
goal with him, and it was literally like a courtroom
like sit down, shut up, pay attention, and it was
like next case. And he was not playing with these people.
He was really not playing. And I was like, wow,
and we're there for hours.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, because he's probably recording a lot of episodes. Yes, yeah,
you can't leave. It's like a real court.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
It's like, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
But you know, I mean I told the story before
because I tell the same ten stories for a career.
But as a kid, very little kid, I think I
was like four or three, there was a show on
where I grew up in Phoenix called Wallace and Ladmo.
It was like a cartoon show. Its kind of like
the local Bozo and I got to go to Wallston Ladmo.
My mom took me down there one day and went
down to the TV station and we're walking into the
TV station and there was one of them. I think
(06:14):
it was Wallace. I can't remember which one. One wore
a top hat and one didn't. They wore like little
like suits and stuff. I don't know, but anyway, Wallace
was on a break. I mean it could have been Ladmo.
I'm not sure which one. And you got, by the way,
I got a Laddmo bag. That was a very big
deal to get a Laddmo. But you got to go
on the set and then they gave you a Laddo
bag full of like candy or something, I don't know
what it was. Paper bag that said Ladmo bag and
(06:37):
it was I don't know. It was the biggest deal.
If you got to think if you were somehow selected
to get a Ladmo. It was like if you were
selected to play the Bozo Buckets. Yeah, I mean that
was a big you were like a hero. Yeah, but yeah,
there is there's a Landmo bag. There is, But that's
the guy. I'm walking and there's lad Mo no top
(06:58):
hat shirts un buttoned like on to his navel and
he's smoking a cigarette and he's like leaning up against
the building at the TV station and he just kind
of looks at me like can I help you? My
dreams were dashed? And then when I went up to
get my ladmow bag, he spelled like cigarettes and he's
just a normal Latino's just a normal guy, you know,
he's just like everybody else. But as a kid, I
(07:19):
don't know. I just I thought he was like on
par with all the cartoons that they aired during the show,
and they had like a time machine and I don't know,
it was a crazy show. I think somebody was very
high when they came up with the concept do you
still have this bag? No?
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I wish I did that because they're worth a considerable
amount of money.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
They say, yeah lat Mobile money, No Ladmo bag would
be a big deal. Yeah, I would, thank you.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
It's a paper bag.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
It would be like if you went on Boso and
Boso like Boso is a clown. He's a little creepy,
but like we still love Boso, And it would be
weird if you went on there and he like cussed
you out right, you know what I mean? The commercial
break the greatest picture, maybe the greatest picture I've ever taken,
by the way, and you were there for Jason was
(08:06):
Mike did, Scottie, Pippen, Bozo and me in a picture
of three iconic people and one schlub.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Chicago.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
But it was so surreal. I'm like, what is happening
right now? Dean Richards? I think Dean Richards took the picture,
but not blessed Dean Richards. We love Dean. Hey, Kelly,
this happened to you with Oprah? What oh she went away?
Call back, Kelly, I want to hear why sent you?
Oh no, there would be another one like Oprah used
(08:35):
to film in Chicago. Now there's a McDonald's where that is,
but a well more like the headquarters. But anyway, well
it's a better story if we just said, as a
McDonald's there. But but wouldn't that be devastating? You know?
And and Oprah is like a super famous person. You
can't expect it, Like, yeah, I mean she that every
day is great. She's a busy lady, very wealthy and
whatever else. But like, I don't know, it wouldn't that
(08:57):
be something though, if you got to meet Oprah and
she like what happened, Kelly, good morning?
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Good morning?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
So you were a whole Oprah fan and I were
just so stoked to go see Oprah.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
I'm like, oh my god, we actually got tickets. Yeah,
it was we go and you know, it was all excited,
and I actually had pretty decent seats like where we
were and where we replaced, and like the excitement was
really there. And then all of a sudden, she just
comes out and she's very just like you know, you
had to cheer for her and be all excited, and
(09:28):
then in between like the segments, she like didn't even
make eye contact with the audience. She can't say anything.
She just sat there and just like had this look.
It was just like really like wow, I don't know,
it was very off putting, and I just I was
just like done from there. Not that I expect her
to come out and like shake our hand or anything,
(09:48):
but yeah, I mean, I don't know. I just felt
that there should be more interaction or more like, you know,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
It was really kind of I'm gonna I'm gonna give
her a pass on this because if you figure they're
probably doing five episodes a day or you know, I
don't know how many they did a couple episodes a day,
and like, it takes a lot of energy to do
shows like that, and and I think to to have
to then shake everybody's hand in the audience then five times,
you know what, it'd be a lot. It would be what.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
I'm saying, Fred, I'm not saying that she had to
be like each an individual like hey, you know, shake
her whatever. I'm just saying that at least when you
were sitting there in between the segments, make eye times,
so it.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Was like you weren't even there the end of it.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
At the end of it, she was just like, okay,
thank you everybody, and just walked off.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
You can't do that.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
That's what I'm talking about, is that kind of I
don't expect her to come in, you know, give me
a kiss on the cheek and you know, shake my hand.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Come on, Kelly, let's keep it r.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Kelly. That's what it was. That's just what it was.
It was just very like oh okay, and it's just
like they're and out like we weren't there, and this
was really kind of footing.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Okay, I get what you're saying. Thank you, Kelly, have
a good day.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
I think what people don't realize is that the like
as fans, we take off a day of work, we
find babysitters, we pay for parking, we put on our
best outfits to go watch these live shows, and it's
really them at work. Yeah, So it's like to them,
it's just there. They're at work, it's their job. But
to us, it's like this is an event. We take
a day off.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
And that's why, like we we don't do a whole
lot of stories about like celebrities that are one off,
mean or whatever. But like I try and take those
with a grain of salt, because for us, meeting our
favorite celebrity is once in a lifetime. For them, it's
another encounter of which they're gonna have fifty or one
hundred or one thousand in a day. And it doesn't
mean you get to be mean to people, but it
(11:45):
also you got to remember, like for us, we built
it up to be the greatest thing that could ever
happen to us. And for them, they while they're aware
of that, they're also going about their everyday life and
so I, you know, I don't, and you also never
know what's going on, you know, And I also want
to I want to hear both sides. Did you walk
up to her when she was in the middle of
like a rudey two dy fresh and fruity at Denny's
or something they have those, because I mean, if I'm
(12:07):
in the middle of that, don't bother me. Yeah, Frini
in front of me? No.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
I hate Like I've met a lot of rappers and
their whole thing is they don't smile in photos. Like bro,
I waited my whole life to meet you, and we
can't smile in this photo.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
It's so annoying. She Sandy went to Ellen and she
was wonderful. So there you go. So maybe maybe the
day that my mom went to see Melon different show,
but she just wasn't having other day. Hey, Chris, were
you devastating you met Bobby Flay? Were you devastating, Well,
totally devastated.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
So it was like twenty fourteen, twenty thirteen, and I
was working at the McCormack in the kitchen at for
the event, and here here he goes being a big
jerk and kicking all my staff out of the kitchen
and telling me that this is this kitchen now that
we let me, we need to move out for the camera.
And in the background was born In Ramsey just shaking
(12:56):
his head. And I actually got in trouble because I
kicked Bobby Play out from the kitchen. He was being
brewed to us.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Bobby Flay walked in your kitchen, said, it's my kitchen.
There's nothin He's got your poster boy and you know,
like they put him up to be in Food Network.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
He's a jerk.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
He doesn't strike I wouldn't surprise me if Bobby Flay
wasn't that nice.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
I guess Ramsey was the nicer personality.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Now that's because he comes off like a total prick,
but he was a nice guy there.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
He was super nice.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, well, thank you, Chris. It's my kitchen now, Okay,
I gotta go. That is that is a good story, though, Chris,
Bobby Flay walked in your kitchen. It's my kitchen now,
I'm Bobby Flay more freadshell next,
