The Fread Show. Harry, Good morning, Welcome to the show.
How are you?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Hey, good Mary, guys.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
I'm doing okay, doing okay.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
It's waiting by the phone, so I can I can
understand why you're okay because you feel like you've been
ghosted by this woman Angel. But we need all the backstory.
How did you meet Angel? I want to know about
any dates you've been on and then where things are now.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, so we've met at the dog park, which I
thought was I thought it was.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Kind of cool, you know, like sort of a like
natural organic kind of meeting. I remember I first started
seen her there.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
I don't know, maybe a month ago or so, and
you know, I thought she was cute, that she.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Was very seemed nice, and our dogs kind of like
got along.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
So we started.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Talking a little bit, and eventually, you know, we started
to talk a little bit more, and finally I asked
her out on a date.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
She said, yes, we had. I thought we had a
really good time. But I haven't heard anything from her
since then.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Okay, and you haven't seen her at the dog park,
because I guess that's the peril and asking somewhere at
the dog park is that you know, if it's near
your house, it's convenient, and then you know, you meet
and if things go awry, then you got to go
to a different dog park.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
I mean I wouldn't see her all the time anyway
at the dog park. It was sort of like only
a once in a while kind of thing. And I
just haven't seen her there since the date.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
So but I'm not I don't know. I just assume
she's on kind of a different schedule in general.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Okay, that's fair, But you guys, you had what you
thought was a really good date and you have not
seen her. You have not heard from her, she hasn't
respond to any I assume you've texted and reached out
and she's not responding to you at all. Right, Yeah, no, nothing,
All right, Well, let's see if we can help you.
We're going to play a song comeback. We'll call Angel.
You'll be on the phone at the same time, Harry,
and we'll ask some questions.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
We'll see if we can work this out.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
The hope is that we can straighten things out and
set you guys up on another date and we'll.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Pay for that. All right, all right, sounds good, Harry.
Let's call Angel.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
You guys met at the dog park, of all places,
and you chatted it up and it was kind of
a progression, got her number, asked her out. You thought
the date went really well, but you haven't heard from
her since the date. She hasn't responded to you. You've
reached out, you haven't seen her at the dog park,
and you're like, hey, what happened here? Because you thought
it was a great date.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, I thought we had a good time. I don't
I'm not really sure why I haven't heard from her.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Okay, we're gonna call her now. Good luck, Harry, All right, thanks?
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Is this Angel Speak?
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Angel? Good morning? Name my voice cracked.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
There.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Hi, going through puberty, he says, a Hi, Angel, my
name is Fred. I'm calling from the Fred Show, the
morning radio show. She's probably like, who is this moron?
I can't believe you haven't hold up yet. No, Angel,
I'm sorry to bother you, but we're calling. Uh we're
on the radio right now, on the Fred Show, and
I would need your permission to continue with the calls.
And okay, if we chat for just a second, you
can hang out at anytime. Uh sure, Well, thank you
(03:23):
very much. I appreciate you putting up with all of this.
But we're calling on behalf of a dude named Harry.
I guess you met him at the dog park. You
guys went out recently. I hope you remember this guy.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
Yeah, I remember Harry.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You do, Okay, So he reached out to us, Angel,
and he said, you know, he told us a story
about how you met and going out and whatever, and
he thought everything went really well and was hoping to
see you again. Says he's been reaching out and you
haven't been responding to him, and so what we're trying
to do is figure out why.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Yeah, yeah, no, I am not responding to him.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
I did not have the same experience that he could
on the date.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
You didn't, Yeah, because he he's actually, you know, kind
of puzzled about this whole thing.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
So what's your side of the story. What happened?
Speaker 5 (04:02):
Well, yeah, we met at the dog park and we
we went out on a date.
Speaker 6 (04:09):
If you could call it a date, I guess.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
He picked me up and he we drove to Target
and he just said he had to like run in
really quick to grab something. And when he came back out,
I you know, assumed that we were gonna like head
to like the restaurant, but then he he like pulled
over again and and he just like said like, hey,
(04:34):
I have to like go drop something off, like just
to my friend and I'll be right back.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
And so he did that, and then I was like, Okay,
this is a little weird. This is like the second
errand I guess, but sure.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
And then he got back in the car saying he
wanted to grab a coke from McDonald before dinner and
asked if I wanted anything, and I was like, no,
I'm good, And at that point I started to be
really I don't know, it was like kind of annoyed, Like, bro, do.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
You the date, like like, can you handle this before
you pick me up? All right?
Speaker 2 (05:08):
So so you go to targeting, you drop that up,
you go, you go to McDonald's.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Yeah, we go to McDonald's and he comes out with
food and then I was like what I thought we were.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
Going to dinner together? And then he was like on.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
His phone and I realized, oh no he was.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
He was like actively door dashed.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Oh no, no what yeah? Wow? So the dude was
working his way.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
He was working his way to the restaurant like oh wow,
wow something.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
And I was like, dude, like, we're we're on a
date right.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Now, Like are we trying oh my god? Or am
I like just tagging along for work with you? It
was so weird. So so we went.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
We eventually got to the to the bar, and you know,
I had a drink because I really needn't want at
that point just tip yeah, and then I yeah, I
decided I didn't.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
I didn't. That was it.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
I didn't really need to see him again after that.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
How much are you guys making tips? That that's our money?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
I mean you should hit me out to Wow.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Okay, well I forgot to much that Harry is here.
I'm very forgetful, like you cut up in the story.
I'm sorry, Harry you you didn't tell us about the
part where you were door dashing your way to the restaurant.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
I mean, listen, it was on the way anyway. And
look I hustle, like I'm a hustler. And by the way,
all the money that we made on the like all
that stuff, I paid for the date, Like I paid
for the date.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
So I don't see what the big.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Dealer is, bro, Like, you can't, you can't. You got
to tell someone if you're doing this, Like I've seen people.
I've seen people door dashing tandem. Like I've seen where
one guy drives and then the other one like does
the drives.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
I've seen the city there's no park.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Yeah no, I've seen this done. Okay, So like I
get a little little teamwork, you know, I understand, like
little little time span and you know it's that's your
love language or whatever, Like I got it. But but
you got to tell the person that we're doing this, Like, hey,
I tell you I got one more hour to go.
Do you have me to pick you up before or after?
Like you can't just sort of slip that in because
I think that's kind of strange, Like why are we
(07:14):
going to random people's houses and giving them things?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Like you know.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
I don't know, it's just on the way. I figured,
what's the big deal, what's the harm? And do a
couple of runs.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
That's so flimsy. Seriously, listen, I picked you up, I
paid for the date.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
How often are guys doing that nowadays?
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Wait?
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Your work.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Put you to work, see you know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (07:38):
Like, yeah, but it's okay, it's you, you know the girl.
If you had to pay for the date, and because
you guys at in DoorDash to make enough money for
the dates, we'll be hearing.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
About that, wouldn't we. Yeah, but I mean, look, you're writing.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
For this guy kind.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Of when you ask someone to day what I see one?
You got it.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
I think you gotta be prepared to pay for the day.
You gotta you gotta be. It's about the other persons
about you, you.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
Know, and I know no guys, it would be a
problem there was not enough money to cover this date.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I want to argue that maybe you don't go on
the date, or you or you say up front like hey,
can we split this?
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Or I don't know.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
I mean, look, I'm not suggesting that everybody has to
pay for everything all the time. I understand that money
can be tight. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't be dating.
But I would say, and this might be the most
controversial thing I've ever said, hang on tight everyone, Okay,
but if you're dating, and you're asking a woman out
from a male perspective on a first date, I think
you should be prepared to pay for the date and
make that person feel special and not do a real
(08:36):
quick run through to drive through to pick something up
for someone else who we don't know crazy.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Like genuinely, Harry, I don't think I would have cared
if you had said, hey, I want to like take
you out on a date, but like I like, let's
do something that's like low or no cost, like that's
that would have been fine.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
Like I really don't care. I like to you. And well,
now I I got I got the I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I did all right, Harry. Look, I understand the situation
you're in. I see what you were doing. It's not
that it's not the most romantic thing, and I think
this is the time to put our best foot forward,
especially early on, and some communication would have been really
helpful here too, I think. But Angel, I'll ask the question.
I think I know the answer. But would you like
to go out with Harry again? We'll pay for it
and and and we'll we'll DoorDash whatever you want from
(09:22):
someone else or whatever.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
I'll take the DoorDash the door dash myself.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
But uh, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Because if we give you, if we give you DoorDash money,
and Harry might be the one showing up bringing it
to you, so which could be awkward. Now, but all right, Harry, look,
I'm sorry man, it's not going to work out. But
I wish you both the best of luck and thank
you for your time.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
All right, Thanks guys,
