Speaker 1 (00:02):
I've ever been left waiting by the phone. It's the
Fred Show. Hey, justin, good morning, welcome to the show.
How are you.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm doing all right?
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Yeah, what's our pleasure. Let's see what's going on with
you and this woman Laurel. First, why don't you tell
us how you met and about any dates that you've
been on, and then kind of what's going on now?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Okay, so real basic, all right. I see this gorgeous
woman on Insta. I do what any normal guy does, right,
I decide I'm going.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
To follow her, and you know, see what she's a thought.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Was going on the inside. Right, You wanted to follow
her to see what what her passions were, Right, You
didn't want to just stare at pictures of her and
like them all and hope she got that they got
her attention.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Right, see who she was as a person, you know,
before I actually try to read out because I like
playing kind of the long game, you.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Know, get get to know a person, get to see.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Where they're at, see who they are there.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I have to look at him because that might be
part of her passion the beach.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
I mean, you know, as a guy, you got to
know what she's into first right right, water sports for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Okay, so then what so you follow her on Instagram?
Then what happened?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
So I follow her on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
At this point time?
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Okay, so you follow her?
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Then what at this point in time?
Speaker 2 (01:28):
That would be less confusing because I follow her, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
I like her story.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I slide into her DMS and then she follows me back.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
She likes some of my photos. We start talking to
each other, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Eventually I ask her for her number, right, she says, Oh,
I'd love to go out with you. I plan it's
really fun date and it seemed like she enjoyed it.
But now she's just not responding. Okay, Now she still
follows me, but like casn't blatch any of my stories.
She hasn't open anyone messages. And I don't know if
(02:04):
it was something that I did or if something happened
then in her life. But okay, I just don't understand
that silence.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Yeah, so this all went pretty well until it didn't.
You can't get ahold of her. Now she's like calling
you back, she's ghosting you. It would appear, and you
want to know why. So that's where we come in.
We're gonna play one song. We'll come back in two minutes.
We'll call Laurel. You'll be on the phone, and we'll
ask some questions for you. At some point, you're welcome
to jump in on the call, and the hope is
that we can figure out what's going on if there's
an issue, straightened it out, and then set you guys
(02:32):
up on your second date that we paid for.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Sound good, Justin, Yeah, I'd appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Okay, hang on one second, we'll be right back, Justin.
You've got to hear what happens next. Part to you
waiting by the phone after Miley in two minutes Fred's Show.
Miley is on the Fred Show commercial free for the
next forty minutes. Thanks so much for having us on, Justin.
All right, let's call Laurel. You guys, well, you followed
her on Instagram. You saw on Instagram, you followed her,
(02:56):
She went up following you. You message back and forth
a little bit. You plan a date, she accepts. You,
guys go out. You thought it went well, except you
have not heard from this woman since the date. And
you want to know why.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, I mean she said she had fun time, so
I don't know what's going on?
Speaker 1 (03:12):
They all do? All right, let's call her now, good luck? Justin?
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Thanks?
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Hello, Hi is this Laurel.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yes, it is hi Laurel.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Good morning. My name is Fred. I'm calling from the
Fred Show Morning radio show. The whole crew is here,
and I have to tell you that we are on
the radio right now and I would need your permission
to continue with the call. He said, okay, if we
chat for just a couple of minutes on the show. Okay, yeah, sure,
Thank you very much. We appreciate that we're calling on
behalf of a dude who reached out to us. His
(03:48):
name is Justin. He says, you, guys recently went on
a first date to you remember this guy? You remember?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I wish I didn't?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I do?
Speaker 1 (03:56):
I do? Oh? Okay, well you look at this already
a different version of events. So he called us and
he said that he, I guess found you on Instagram
and you, guys message and went on a date that
he thought was successful. He's trying to figure out why
you haven't called him since the date or responded to
him at all. Sounds like there's another side of the
story here. So what happened, Laurel, Well.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Yeah, no. We met on Instagram. He had followed me
and started kind of fiber flirting. He's cute, I'll give
him that for sure. I did eventually say yes to
going on a date with him, and honestly I was.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I was kind of excited.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Because not many guys take you on like a cool
first date. And he suggested that we go to a
karaoke bar, which was like a really cool idea. But
now I'm after this, I don't know if I'll be
going on a first date to a karaoke bar ever again.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Oh no, what happened?
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Well, So, like we get there, we're having a pretty
decent time, and about ten minutes in, he you know,
tells me, Okay, I'm gonna go do a song and
I was like, okay, cool, I ask, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
You're gonna pick a carryoke bar for a first date, sober,
and then you're gonna go up there and perform rock
on all? Okay, you're into it? Yes, I would love.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
This, Like you see your personality, let you know, the
person can let loose and there they'll have fun in
front of you. They're not to you know, stuck up
to embarrass themselves a little bit.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Like I'm here for this. Okay, all right, So Kicky
will go on to date with this guy if you won't.
But anyway, so you guys, he decides to go up
and perform a song.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Yeah, and he I asked what song he was gonna play,
because I mean, I feel like that's a normal question,
that's gonna carry okey bar And he was like, don't worry,
it's gonna be surprised. Okay, it's just for.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
You, oh boy. And I'm like, there's so many ways.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Okay, Well, do you guys remember that song Torn by
Natalie Imbruia.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yes, yes, that's the song.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
That's the song that he chose to do. And he
got very very into it.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
What I mean, it is a banger, it's a little utdated.
He got emotional about it. I had a dedication to
this woman, though, like I don't know, I'm looking at
the lyrics right now to this song. I thought I
saw a man brought to life. He was he came around,
he was dignified. He showed me what it was to cry. Well,
(06:45):
you couldn't be that man. He adored. You seem to
know or seem to care what your heart. You don't
seem to know or care what your heart is for.
But I don't know him anymore. He used to lie.
So he goes up there and he bels this thing
out right. I mean, that is a very emotional song
about it. Beautiful woman may.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Yeah, and like, honestly, the way that like you guys
are reacting is basically how I reacted. I tried so
hard not to laugh at this, like random ass song
choice and like dramatic when I tell you, guys, this
was like he was putting on his Oscar worthy performance,
(07:31):
like he was trying to solidify that Oscar noma.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
What are you supposed to do?
Speaker 4 (07:38):
I mean clear, and like again, I was like, you
know what, it's cool. Like you said, it does take
a lot of guts to get up on stage, so
I let it go. I was like, cool, we've moved
past this very awkward moment that I'm ensure was sharing
with my girlfriends.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
But maybe we can move on.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
And you know again, we did move on. It was
probably thirtye so minutes of good conversation.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
We got our.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Food, we got drinks, and my biggest mistake was getting
up to go to the bathroom, because when I came back,
he was back up on Steve my singing again also,
and you want to know what song he chose this time?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
We have never wanted to know anything more. Non, what
song did he pick?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Out of the list of one hundred and forty eight songs?
She decided, you know what for my second song, I'm
gonna do corn by Natalie Imbrulia Again he.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Did the same song again. I mean for the new audience,
the new people, right, Hey, what what did you do?
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Diny? Even know karaoke bars would let you play the
same song within like an our fan of each other, Like,
I feel like that should be a rule moving forward
for karaoke bars is like, hey, sorry, if someone already
played your song, choose another one. Like well, So I'm
standing there coming back from the bathroom. I haven't even
gotten back to the table yet, because I'm like, are
you serious right now? And everyone, and I'm telling you,
(09:13):
everyone in that restaurant, from bar staff to guests were
staring at me because I'm the weirdo that is with
the guys doing the same song two times in a
row going there.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Let me hear from Natalie and Brulia himself over here,
I forgot somebody mentioned that Justin is here justin the
same song twice. This song.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Okay, so you guys know how it is.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
And you go to karaoke, right, there's forty people there.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
You never know when you're gonna get called up. So
when we got.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
There, I figured I'm gonna sing this song.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
It's gonna be.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Fun, it's gonna be random, right, So I wrote it
down three times because I figured they were gonna call
me at least once.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Okay, wait a minute, though we called you twice, don't please,
don't tell me there was you didn't.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Oh yeah, you want to go with the rule of threes?
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Right, my god? I love this three.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
We had paid the pack and everything. We were ready
to leave. We had paid and were ready to leave
when he gets called. When he gets called up to the.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Third time, I'm surprised you had the energy of them
to deliver a performance that would impact people the way
that clearly you can. How three times in one night? Amen? Brother?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
I mean every every guy wants to go three times
in one night, you know.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Lying naked on the floor, I don't want to get
a song now, you.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Got close. It's especially if you can hit those notes. Yeah,
you know what I mean, like, why wouldn't you want
to show off like that?
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Okay, well three times? Huh, Laurel. So at this point,
you're standing by the door, like I can leave, I
can escape right now, I can just walk out.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Yes, and like you guys don't understand how much I was,
like this is a prank, like I am literally being
punched right now or something.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Time? Yeah, for three time? All right? I love you? Okay, well,
good because I'll give you his number tonight.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
I just when you have your song and you know
you can really perform that song, like why would you
go hard each time?
Speaker 1 (11:40):
I mean, can you at least go to a different
make a little sewer out of it or something? I mean,
the same They were probably there for a couple of hours.
You had to assume the same people heard it three times.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
No, it was probably a new crowd, like you know,
people are getting lit more throughout the night, like your crowds.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Figure.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
He was the opener, he was the main closer.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
It was great, all right. I don't know if I
even have to ask, but he sounds like a nice
enough guy. But Laurel, maybe not, Maybe we do a
different activity next time, not karaoke? Would you give another shot,
We'll pay for it.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
I'm sorry, I can't, Like, I literally just cannot take.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
This man serious.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Like, do you.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Understand what it's like to stand in a room of
like sixty something people as they're watching this man walk
up on stage for the third time, praying to whatever
deity that they care for that this man does not
start singing torn for a third time, and then he
still does. Like that is an experience I will never
(12:37):
be able to live down.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
My good friend. They were all staring at her because
she wasn't playing it right? Yeah, what you hit the
third time? And you're the other one not saying that.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Everyone's gonna look where were you with the backup? Laurreal
all right, look justin star when she sees one, right,
all right, hey look Justin It's I'm just not gonna
work out. Switch it up, baby, Yeah, yeah, put another
put a couple more songs in your retire Yeah. I
would work on some new material as well. But but
you know, we know you got the one to go to.
(13:13):
But Laurel, thank you for your time, Just invested. Luck
to you out there, thinks anyway,
