Speaker 1 (00:02):
Ever been left waiting by the phone.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's the Fred Show. Hey Shelby, good morning, Welcome to
the program. How are you? I'm so wild?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Good morning?

Speaker 1 (00:11):
So what's going on with this guy James? We got
to know everything? How did you meet? Tell us about
any dates that you've been on, and then where things
are now?

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Sure, So we met on the apps and.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
You know, we chatted for a little bit and then
he suggested that we like go for drinks, and so
we met and had some drinks and it was so
nice and he was so sweet and like so cute,
and you know, we just kept drinking and then they
just got a little titsy and a little flirty and

(00:44):
we ended up going back to his place and.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
We hucks up.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Okay, and it.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Was great, Like it was really fun and nice, and
you know, I ended up leaving and going home just
because you know, it's like first date.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I don't think it's a sleepover situation. But since then, he.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Like hasn't texted me back at all, like he kind
of did, you know, just sort of like a that
was fun and then but he hasn't responded.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
At all since Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Okay, so I'm starting to feel a little insecure, right,
everything right?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Because you go on his great day, Shelby, and you
feel like everything went really well, and you know there
was a hookup in the whole thing, so that's that's
usually all a pretty good sign. And then to not
hear from him afterwards, you're puzzled.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah, yeah, it doesn't feel great.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
No, I get that. So let's see what we can
figure out here on your behalf. We're gonna call James
in just a second. We're gonna ask him questions and
see what's going on. Maybe the guy has a good explanation,
and if so, hopefully we can set you guys up
on another date that we pay for. Sound good perfectly?
All right, hang on one second, gonna play one song.
We'll come back and do it. Shelby, stay right there.
Let's see what happens next. Part two of Waiting by
the Phone after this song on The Fred Show. Good morning,

(01:56):
It's the Fred Show. Part two of Waiting by the Phone. Hey, Shelby, Yeah,
all right, welcome back. Let's call James. You guys met
on the apps, had a great date, you hooked up,
and you haven't heard from this guy since, and it's
bugging you as it would most people, and you want
to know what's going on, if you're being ghosted or what.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, okay, let's call him right now.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Good luck, Shelby, hellosus.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
James, Hey James, good morning. My name is Fred.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
I'm calling from the Fred Show, the morning radio program,
and I do have to tell you that we are
on the radio right now, and I would need your
permission to continue with the call.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Said, okay if we chat for just a little bit. Okay, Well,
thank you. I know it's sure, you're right.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Kind of strange you get called from the radio, but
we appreciate your cooperation. But we're calling on behalf of
a woman who says she met you on the dating apps.
Her name is Shelby. You guys went out recently. Do
you remember it, Shelby?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I hope yes, I do.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Okay, well, all right, James. She called us and told
us that she had met you and liked you, and
that you had a great date, a really great date
in her estimation, but that she hasn't heard from you
since it hasn't been able to get ahold of you.
We were able to get ahold of you, obviously, So
what's your side of the story.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Okay, it was a good date. I had a good time.
I had fun with her, but she just did something
that was like really weird, and that just freaked me out.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
What did you do?

Speaker 5 (03:31):
So?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Okay, we went out for a drink and we wounded
back in my place.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
We looked up, but after we had finished, she asked
me if she could keep the condom for her journal.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Wait a minute, huh, okay, okay, I mean the one
that was just used. Yeah, she wanted to have that
her journal. Yeah, okay, And what was your response?

Speaker 4 (04:06):
I mean I was I ad a loss for words.
I've never heard of anyone doing that in my entire life.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I too, have met a loss for words.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I think the whole room is sort of wondering how
and why and where this journal is and if it
should be probably uh burned with medical waste of something
that's like a haz mad situation. Let me bring Shelby in.
I'm James, I'm so forgetful. I forgot to tell you
that Shelby was here. What Shelby?

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
What are you? Okay?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Okay, it is not that weird.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
It is that weird.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
It is no, I mean, eventually it like drives up
number one.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Okay, I'm saying the visual person like I like to
be able to like see everything, and I like memories.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
It's not I mean like a mole skin right, I
mean actually that no, pun, I don't know. What do
you have like a like a trapper keeper that you
keep in like I mean, what on earth?

Speaker 2 (05:08):
No?

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I mean they get like a clear everything, like a
clear car.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Is like a baseball card, like the sleep that a
baseball car goes into.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
This is this is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Actually,
it's not that weird. It's extremely weird.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Very what nasty?

Speaker 3 (05:23):
No, I mean I took one of the like drink
coasters from the bar too, Like I mean, I just
grab lots of.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Things, and so what do you do with them? Like
like someday if you marry somebody, then what do you like?
Is it like a scrap book you go through and
be like, oh, this was a good night right here
this dried up one?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Like what?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Well, I mean it's more for me, I guess. I
mean depending, I probably wouldn't show my kids like the
used condes.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
That's good to me.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Okay, this is where you came from almost let's be careful,
Morning Radio God.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Like, do you keep it clean or do you keep whatever?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I don't know that if you know, if you know,
you know, and if you don't know, we don't need
to explain it. So you keep these things? I mean,
how many would you say you have in the collection?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
My god, like.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
The condoms specifically? Are you asking me like how many
journal collections do I have?

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Well?

Speaker 1 (06:19):
I mean, is this a standard? Is this standard like
that you would ask for that? Or is it just special?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah? Or I mean is it just any momento?

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Lots of more, lots of momentum. I would say, I
don't ask for every time.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Okay, but like you did feel special?

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Yeah, this isn't weird.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
It is extremely weird. It is so weird.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
And I'll be honest with you, if somebody asked me
for that, I would assume they were like trying to
do something with the DNA.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Didn't the happen the Drake? Yes, then he put well
and almost Chris Rock too. I think he put hot
sauce in. It started flam. I mean I do the
same to Drake.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
So wow, wow, So James, obviously this is very very
strange and and you are not into it.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Yeah, I mean I think I'm more freaked.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Out than I was.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, I think we are too. I've Shelby, Okay, I've
been around a minute. Okay, I've never heard of anything
like this. I've heard of people keeping you know, scruvenirs
per se, you know, maybe like I don't know, other things,
but not.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
That well, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
It's like it's just kind of like my art project.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I know, I'm stopping this before allowed to talk. I
mean like we just did the whole thing where it
was like if the people who understand what this is
about they already know, and then the ones who don't
they don't maybe need to know. Okay, look, James, I'll

(07:49):
ask the question, would you like to go on another
day with her?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
We'll pay for it.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
I will respectfully decline.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yeah, all right, I think that that might be a
savvy move, Shelby. Look, I don't I don't know you
do you but that I think that's a little strange
and you don't. But we can agree to disagree, but
it's not going to work out. And I wish you
the best of luck. Same to you, James. Thanks for
your time.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Oh sure, yeah, thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Well, what I mean, would you guys mind sending me
like a bumper sticker or something, just so I.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Can, like, what do I have to do to the
bumper sticker for you? No, no answer.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
No, I'll send you a nice photo. The answer.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
The answer is no, No, we're not gonna do that.
Our good luck, guys,
