Speaker 1 (00:01):
In its earliest days, the major function of radio was news.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Going on here, beautiful.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Let everybody go. Why don't you put on a show
and charge a mission?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Okay, so I would say something with music and comedy.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
No, you're fault.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
It will be a show for everyone who loves music
and murder.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Come on, Chuck, we gotta take show to do showtime.
Are you ready?
Speaker 5 (00:39):
I'm ready ready, job, All right, it's six oh six.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Good morning, DC's classic rock Big one hundred. Wow, Katie, look,
Decie does it again? Holy crap. She grew up in Bethesda, right,
she was born in d C. But she grew up
in Bethesda. She won gold again in the Olympic record.
This is like she did the fifteen hundred meter freestyle.
(01:04):
She's like thirty laps, seven seconds faster than the fastest
time she did before, and ten seconds. I had a
second place to where the video of it makes it
look like makes it look like the other swimmers are
swimming the wrong way because they're still finishing, you know,
the last yeah, and she's already gone the other way.
(01:29):
The girl is a freak of nature. She's I definitely
earned the title legend. I think it's official now. That's
just insane. Wow, congrats to her. Amazing. It reminds me
of seeing somebody come in the other way. I think
I talked about this once before I did a used
to do the Lance Armstrong Live Strong Ride, but you know,
(01:52):
before he became publicly disgracing everything stripped from him back
when he was still a big deal. And he rode
with us one year and we all took off at
the same time, and it was like, I think it
was like a seventy mile ride and about half of
it was going out and the other half was coming
back right, so it's kind of a loop, and then
(02:14):
ended up back on the same road, but basically about
halfway out, he was already coming back. It was like
I was waving at us as passing us going in
the other direction.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Like miles ahead of everyone. Geez dude.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
And that was just like a casual ride for him,
you know, like a Sunday afternoon easy ride. It was
just ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
I couldn't imagine him putting in a lot of uh,
a lot of training to challenge you guys.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
No, no, but just even his you know, leisurely ride
is just elite compared to everybody else. It is six
oh eight. We will take care of some business here
coming out this morning. We're gonna have another letter for
the big word of the week that's good for Iron
Maiden tickets tomorrow morning. Also going to give away robson
Being Alice Cooper tickets again today. We're live at training
(03:05):
camp tomorrow and things I know coming up just before
seven o'clock. It's DC's Class S Crock Big one Hunter,
DC's Class Crocket is Big one hundred and.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Barracuda's Heart today. Well, I didn't know that was the thing.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
It's a National IPA day for more on this. I
gotta tell you, man, I used to like an IPA
until they took over every tap in this country for
like ten years, and then I was like.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Anything but an IPA. I do love IPA well, I mean.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Look fantastic and you know, and I love the the
fact that you can, you know, get something that's I'm thinking, like,
like I said, a Sayson, is that how you say it?
Something that's like, you know, a little more light, lighter crisp,
not quite as hoppy all the way up to like
a hop devil, you know where it's.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Like whoa, yeah, hop Devil's are a bit much dries
your mouth out, you know.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
But I love the fact that there are so many
different styles of IPAs. It was a fun beer to drink,
and I get why it became incredibly popular and the
thing first when done right, Yeah, they're great, and you know,
every smug bearded hipster in the country loves them. Yep,
(04:20):
but it did. About two or three years ago. I
was just like, I'm just tired of IPAs. I mean,
can we please you have nineteen taps here in eighteen
of them or an ipa and the other one's bud light.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Help me out? Where is this taphouse you're.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Visiting every place in Philly like that to where it's
like you know, and if you're lucky, they'll have like yingling.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Because that's a Pennsylvania beer, you know. But it's like, God,
you're lucky. I'm sick sick of IPAs. I could never
be sick of IPAs, you know what.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
I got sick on because I love like, like see
the little beers, you know, as we go into each season,
like I always so the Christmas beers last year, I
burn out on them. Yeah, like any any kind of gingerbread,
I burn out so badly that I don't think I
can drink any of them this year. Yeah, but I'm
still good with the I pas.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
And look, man, I you know, Tired Hands, which is
world renowned, was right down the street from my house,
and some of the best I pas you will ever
drink in your entire life. And I still grew tired
of them, just like I'm done, man, I'm done.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I'm done.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
When I lived in Richmond, I lived across the street
from from Ardent Brewing, which is one of my favorite breweries.
Their I p as are spectacular.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, still didn't burn out on them. I have them
every day every day. The deliciousness.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I could go another good five six years without drinking
an IP again.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Just fine, just fine, lather my body up in them.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Six I don't need that visual Oh yeah, okay, yeah, no,
I don't want to even I don't even want to
eat breakfast today.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
It is six twenty four coming up here.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
We're gonna get to things I know, and about seven
twenty this morning, we're going to hit you with a
letter for the big word of the week, and I
may play back last week we played it. I want
to say it was probably in the eight o'clock hour,
so maybe we'll do it coming up to the seven
o'clock hour. If you missed that conversation with coach Quinn,
we had a chance to chat with him on the
very first day of training camp, right after he came
(06:30):
off the field from practice, and I may play that.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Back for you.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's DC's Classic Rock, Big one hundred, DC's Classic Rock.
It's Big one hundred and under Pressure. Six thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Good morning to you.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
We've got a new letter coming your way at about
seven twenty this morning for the big word of the week.
Iron Maiden tickets up for grabs this week. We'll give
those away tomorrow morning. We'll be out of training camp
live tomorrow. A few people locked down for some chats,
which would be pretty cool. And speaking of if you
missed our conversation with coach Quinn last week week, i'll
play that back for you coming up about eight oh
(07:02):
five this morning. It was on the first day of camp,
just minutes after he came off the field from the
very first practice, so we'll we'll play that back for
if you missed. It was a good conversation, man, he
had a lot of cool things to say. People getting
pretty excited for the season. I cannot believe it. But
first preseason game is coming up on the tenth, just
(07:24):
just around the corner, right, But that's for the Commander's
first preseason game is tonight tonight. It's Thursday, right, yeah, tonight.
It's the the what is it the Hall of Fame
Game or the I forget what they call it, but yeah,
there's a preseason game tonight.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
With the Bears.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
And I forget who the Bears are playing, but you know,
immediately you saw Bears and everybody's like, oh, are they.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Going to play now? They're not going to play.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Not gonna play Caleb, So you're not going to see
him on the field tonight, at least the Texans. Texans, Yeah,
at least the coaches say they're gonna play. They are
going to play that kid that's kind of gunning for
the backup quarterback spot. And I saw other people. I
think on the Texans there'body some players who want to
keep your eye on tonight. If you watch that preseason game.
I like preseason games, man. I like watching these guys,
(08:12):
like I think you see a lot of heart and
some of these guys that are right on the edge
they're either going to make the team or they're not,
and they go out there and play their.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Asses off because it's all on the line. Man.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
It's like do I have a job or not? It
depends on how I perform in this game. So they're
often pretty fun to watch. It is six forty it's
time for things.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I know. On a clear day, three of the.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
World's ten largest mountains are visible from Pakhara, which is
Nepal's second biggest city.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
How crazy would that be?
Speaker 1 (08:49):
So you can stand in the city and see ten
of the tallest mountains in the world, Everest obviously being
one of those.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Right. The Himalayas don't mess around telling.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
The movie Beatle Juice is ninety two minutes long, but
Beatlejuice is only on.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Screen for seventeen minutes and thirty seconds. I don't know
if I ever paid attention to that. That's interesting fact.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
The most expensive item that was lost when the Titanic
sank was a painting that was painting by an artist
named Mary Joseph Blondell. It was worth one hundred thousand
dollars back then, which would be about three million dollars
in today's dollars. So roughly three million dollars in today's style.
(09:35):
That was the most expensive thing on the Titanic.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Really, I mean outside of the actual ship.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
The Boston song More Than a Feeling is as you know,
about a girl named mary Anne. She was the lead
singer's older cousin. He was secretly in love with her
when they were kids.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I did not know that until this morning.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
WHOA, I don't know if I can listen to more
than a Feeling again, gives me holding. Yeah, mary Anne
was his cousin. Wow, all right. When hippos poop, they
spend their tails around. That's so that it flies everywhere,
so that they can mark their territory. It's on purpose,
(10:21):
just like my kids.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Right, Maybe that's what.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Kids are doing, trying to mark their territory. That is
six forty two. You're listening to DC's Classic Rock hits,
Big one.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
Hundred WBIGFM, Washington and iHeartRadio Station live from the Nation's Capital.
This is Big Rock Mornings with Jackson on Big one hundred, DC's.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Classic Rock and Good Morning six fifty six. It's gonna
be a hot one out there today. High bout ninety
six currently seventy four in DC. Coach Quinn gonna be
on the program just after eight o'clock this morning. That's
a conversation we had on day one of training camp.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
That's coming up.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Plus another letter for the Big Word of the Week
and your chance to win Iron Maiden tickets. It is
DC's Classic Rock Big one hundred. DC's Classic rockets.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
A Big one hundred.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Sorry I am losing my religion. Good morning to you,
seven o five. Anybody see Trump at the National Association
of Black Journalists yesterday? I watched that live. That was
the Mussey TV. That was that was interesting, to say
the least.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
What the election is?
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Uh, what are we at like ninety six days until
the election something like that, very very close to that
and things really starting to heat up now, especially with
Kamala Harrison in the race. It's everything's taken a completely
different turn. You got Republicans, who I swear, trying to
start like the he Man Woman Haters Club, remember that
(11:50):
from Little.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
The he Man Woman Haters Club.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
And then you've got you know, the left to have
just decided to adopt the word weird for Republicans. They're
just weird and just gets more and more entertaining every day.
I don't have a horse in this race. Man, I
just sit back and laugh. I sit back and laugh.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
That's what I do.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I don't know what's gonna happen, but I can tell
you this. It's gonna get interesting. It's gonna get even
more entertaining. But I'm kinda I I'm in a place
where I kind of wish politics weren't like a reality
TV show, kind of wish they'd just go back to
being boring.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Yes, I would kill for just boring.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
I've been making that wish for years now.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Oh my god. Uh seven oh six.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
And we'll play back that chat with coach Quinn just
the right side at eight o'clock this morning.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
That was from day one a training camp.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
We're gonna be out there again live tomorrow, and I
believe I'm going to sit down with I go an
handful of people on the top two tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
A Trustway.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
I think we're gonna have a chat with Trustway, Sam Cosmi,
I think is going to stop at the table. We've
got a few others in there too, so we'll we'll
have those for you next week to play back, and
then of course whoever drops by during the live broadcast
tomorrow morning and We've got another letter for you for
the big word of the week. Iron Maiden tickets up
(13:18):
for grabs. Are giving those away tomorrow morning, and we'll
have that coming up for you at about seven twenty ish.
I feel like I'm forgetting something. We've got the Rob
Zombie and Alice Cooper tickets to give away too, Supports
on Tapa Dennis later, Florida ban coming up, and more
stick around. It's DC's Classic Rock, Big one hundred. DC's
Classic Rock is Big one hundred and good morning to you.
(13:41):
Everybody wants to rule the world. It's a little Tears
for Fears. On a Thursday morning, we think of that
Dennis is going to check him from training camp this morning.
There is practice today, right if you missed it yesterday. Yesterday,
I think we stopped him in time. We should have
let him come.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
We should have we should have. He texted us and.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
He said, man, I'll check in from practice this morning.
I was like, all right, cool, And then I was
sitting there thinking, I'm like, wait a second, I think
they're off today.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
I don't think there is practice today, and debated.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
On whether I should tell him or not, or if
I should let him drive from on DC all the
way to Ashburned. No, at the last minute, I sent
him a text and I was like, hey, man, I
think they're off the day and he was just walking
out the door.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
So and we'd covered that on the show yesterday. Yeah,
if he was listening.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah, we would.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Back to school shopping has begun and now they do
an average every year and it's almost six hundred bucks
per kid this year to cover back to school shopping. Yeah,
my kid's twice that because he has expensive taste.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Now caught And I'm a sucker, you know, I'm a sucker.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
I grew up poor, so like I feel like I
always feel like with my kids, you know, when they
want something that I absolutely couldn't have when I was
a kid, you know, because I was I was wearing
kids and Pro wings for shoes.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
My clothes came out of layaway like the day.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Yeah oh yeah, and back in the day.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Man, I know this would be hard to believe for
the younger generation, but Champion was the cheap brand.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Champion.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I had a ton of Champion stuff because it was
like four dollars for a sweatshirt and now Champion, now
you go buy a Champion sweatshirt.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
My kids got like ten of them. Now you go
buy them, they're like eighty dollars.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Are they still made the same way.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, man, it's still the same damn thing. It just
became hip somehow somewhere. It's like, you know everything, like
when the hipsters brought perhaps blue ribbon back. Yeah, it's
like PBR. It's like, dude, you realize that's a p PBR. Right,
that's like a really cheap beer and you're over paying
(15:52):
for that.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Milwaukee's Best is going to make.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
It come Oh my god, it wouldn't surprise me at all.
Lots of lots of stuff like that makes the makes
the comeback. Spend. Parents are spending the most on clothing
and accessories this year, so school supplies and clothing those
are your biggest ticket items. Tech is next, so things
like computers are tablets, and sixty one percent say their
kids usually manipulate them into spending more than they wanted to.
(16:18):
But there's a good chance you're not just shopping for
your kid. Fifty percent of parents admit that they will
shop for themselves while they're out going back to school
for the kids too, and they say top tactics to
try to save money, coupons, opening a new credit card
that seems like a bad ITEA.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Seventy seven percent of parents say their kid's education is
definitely something they're willing to go into debt four if
they're going to go into debt for anything. Two thirds
of parents out there say they already did most of
their shopping last month.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Really, like in June, I told you, I don't know
if Virginia mayor and have them, but in DC you
can get a back to school kit and you just
pay a price for it and then they send it
to the school and so everything is there. So you
don't need any of the back to school supplies. All
you have to do is get you know, close lunchbox, backpack.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
That stuff.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
I guess a lot of people jumped on the Amazon
Prime days this year July sixteenth and seventeenth for back
to school stuff. Here's the good news. It's actually down
slightly from last year. Last year, the average was five
hundred and ninety seven dollars per kid. This year five
hundred and eighty six dollars per kid. There you go,
good luck with the good luck with that. I feel
(17:37):
like I'm just gonna just start handing my kid a
lot of cash and go here, here's what you got.
Go give what you need, you know, because once he
become teenagers, it's like you don't need to go out
escort them and hold their hand anymore.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
I let my kid go through Amazon and pick out
what he needed ye come back to school. Yeah, so
he put his backpack, the lunch box he wanted, the
water bottle, it's all there. He's got one article of
clothing that he put in. It's one like tied ice shirt.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
I'll tell you what I started, like a forest fire.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Yeah, I started to save in quite a bit of
My daughter was a teacher for several years. She went
to school to be a teacher, and she was teaching
and that was my first look into how little money
schools have, especially schools and like underprivileged areas where she
(18:25):
was teaching. And she would put together an Amazon wish
list of supplies for her classroom every year, and it
was like pencils, pens, highlighters, a map, you know, copies
of this book or whatever. And it was like, wait
a second, you don't have I mean, you don't have pencils.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
You know. It's like now they don't we have to
supply room rooms.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
They don't give us anything like this is so every
year I would go in and just buy her whole
list for her, because she would throw it out for
like friends and family to hey, if you want to
help me supply my classroom this year and ever year,
I would just been and go here, I'm just gonna
buy it all because it just felt bad. I'm like
these kids, man, especially in a you know, in a
poor yeah, where she was teaching, you know, to go
(19:09):
to school. It's like what she's gotta supply her own highlighters?
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Come on, we can do better.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
I know there's some teachers out there probably listening, going, yeah,
you have no idea.
Speaker 7 (19:22):
I know.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
No, I get it, I get it. I just seven
twenty seven. We'll take care of some business here and
we're back to it in just a few. But before
we go to break, let's give you another letter for
the big word of the week.
Speaker 7 (19:33):
The big word of the week on Big one hundred.
Today's letter is the letter S. The letter S as
in Sam, The letter S is in snake. Tomorrow we
will complete the word. It'll be good for Iron Maiden
tickets right about this time. One one hundred and four
nine three one double three. Hang on to that number.
It'll come in handy.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
It's DC's Classic Crock Big one hundred, DC's Classic Crocket's
Big one hundred. Boulevard had a broken dreams, there's green.
It's seven.
Speaker 3 (20:01):

every year, just every year.
Speaker 3 (20:14):

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I feel like I'm gonna try to make them the
most of August and September.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Because August is my birthday month. I want to throw
that out there.
Speaker 1 (20:25):

at a Taylor Swift concert.
Speaker 3 (21:35):

so good, so it looks like it's.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
M Night Shamalan's Trap will be in theaters next Friday.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Let's give it a listen, coach Quinn, welcome, how are
you man?
Speaker 5 (23:22):
I'm doing good man to have finally, you know, kind
of the thing kicking off.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
You know, yeah, I told the team earlier.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
You remember your day ones, people and moments, and so
being here with this crew and getting our training camp
started was good. We did a ton of red zone
work today just to get started. But yeah, man, it
was awesome.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
I'll tell you.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
The one thing I noticed, if I had to compare
it to last year, there is excitement in the air.
There is This is a different team, This is a
different attitude, This is a different thing.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
And I liked we had brought the rookies in early
and so we had about four or five days with them,
so they came in with good energy. But was very
fun to see was the bets hey coming in early.
They wanted to go and check in on the guys
and see where they were. So there were a lot
of people here wanting to get started onto training camp,
compared to you know, like, oh I got to go
to camp. So we'll see what that enthusiasm looks like.
(24:07):
After about eighteen days, you know, I'm going for it.
But I was really pumped to see the mindset they
wanted to see their guys and be around them.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
And you brought in some I'm thinking of like Bobby Wagner, right,
I mean, I had a chance to chat with Jonathan
Allen last time, thinking of leaders on the team with
you know, you got a lot of new guys on
the team. Do you ever like pull those those leaders
aside and say, here's what I need from you, Here's
what I want you to do.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
A number of guys in the rooms, players and coaches
that have won the last game of the season. That's
important because eventually everyone in the room will have experienced that.
Until then, there's some leading moments of standards, leading moments
of championship standards and all that we do. It's not
something that you tack on after you win it. It's
(24:47):
something that you build on and say they won because
of those. And so for those people that have won
the last game and know what that journey looks like,
feels like how hard it is, that's an important thing.
So they're not brought here to coach. They hear to play.
The Ertzes and the Wagners who have you know, real
special traits about him sometimes just the way they run
their life.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
It would seem to me like the young guys look
up to them, to the vets and look at those
guys and go, all right, this is how you do it.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
Yeah, when they walk into the arena, that looks like
a pro. Yea, it is a pro. That's practice. And
so Terry McLaurin has that, you know, like every time
you see him, he's ready. It's the catching early, catching
after details, and the more that you do that and
other people can see that, I want to I want
a little bit of that. I want to be more
like Terry. I want to be more like so and so.
And if you do that, I want to be more
(25:33):
like Wags. I want to find out his process. Young
players like a Mikey seiners Steel see that and now
they have something to follow, and then they have something
to belong to, and they do belong to.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
This Zach Ertz.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I'm a big zach Ertz fan. I'm from Philadelphia, so
I love Zach. City of Philly loves Zach. You know,
everybody was sad to see him go, but then I
was super excited to see him come here.
Speaker 5 (25:55):
He's got some left in the tank, would you say?
And I was moments like today, we had a big
red zone. That's that's his space, you know. So there's
certain things that players really do well, and that's our
job as coaches to find those unique traits and say, okay,
when it gets to this time in the game, when
it gets to this point, we have to feature this
player into that spot. And so Zach makes it easy
(26:15):
knowing down in the red zone where how the routes,
all of it.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
I've got my eye on McCaffrey. I think that kid's
got some talent. What's in his blood right. He has
a real competitor's mindset. He's very strong and aggressive in
the slot quick he hasn't played years and years of receiver.
The background at quarterback and running back, there's things that
help in the running back part, like after the catch,
after the catch, run like a runner. And then I
(26:40):
think he has the awareness on some routes what could
happen based on the quarterback background. So there's some stuff
like he is a real competitor, and there's a number
of guys like Luke that have just a lot to prove,
And whether you're a rookie or a fifth year or
tenth year, when you have a lot to prove those
usually are some real competitive moments that you're not backing off.
So you answered this, I believe it was yesterday or
(27:02):
the day before. You know, everybody's been asking you about
Jane Daniels. He's going to start right, and your answer
was pretty much, well know when we know. So after
the first day, how how do things look out there?
I mean, you've got some strong quarterbacks out there.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yeah, and that's I was never trying to deflect, no, no, no, yeah, yeah,
and you knew that and recognize that. My point was
it's never a secret, yep. But as we're going through it,
we want to make sure he's not going to miss
one step. And this is a rare competitor and he's
really hitting all the marks. Just like anything, you want
to make sure you're doing like all your due diligence
on things and make sure let's go through some red zone,
(27:34):
third down, go against another team, just let's get all
the markers right for him. How well regarded he is
here already?
Speaker 1 (27:40):
How would you how's your working relationship with the Adam Peters. Yeah,
it's been great, and you guys are a good team. Man,
We are a good team.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
And that's the best way to describe us, because we
look after each other, want to make sure you know
where we can support one another. Obviously during the off
season where there's so many personnel things to go, I
want to help support him. Now that you know this
training camps here, he's doing the same. I got that covered.
I got to you just hit the team and anything.
You see a big building going on behind us, lots
of construction, So like he'll fill me in, you know
(28:08):
what's happening, what's going on, and it allows me to
just keep the focus, you know, on the grass with
the guys. And so it's a nice balance because both
of the jobs are hard, and so knowing that you're
not you know, they're you know, on your own great field.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
So I know it's only day one. Pretty exciting, yes,
But if you had to kind of characterize what you
think your offense and your defense are going to look
like this year on the field.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Let's say explosive, because it's the players that we've brought
to here, you know, have explosiveness, have speed, and I
would say that would be some of the things I
think when you and the fans watch us play. Some men,
these guys are fast and they're absolutely bringing it, and so
I'm hopeful that's what comes across because that's the style
and the identity that we will be. And it won't
be on day one, but I want it on day one.
(28:49):
I want it on day one oh one. I want
it on a one thousand and one, ten thousand and one.
That's just how we get it on from here this year,
ten years from now, twenty years from now, and when
people see us play, they notice is how we do things.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
That's great.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Well, i'll tell you his fans, man, we are looking
forward to this season. We're super excited you're here. We're
super excited about all the players you're brought in.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Just super excited.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Yeah, well we feel it too, man, in the community.
We feel the energy here and there's a lot you
know that when you have that kind of energy with
a city and a community and a team, it's really
hard to capture. And so seeing that happening here feels great.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Coach, thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
That's Coach Quinn right here on DC's Classic Crack Big
one hundred.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
DC's Classic Crack Big one hundred at just seventeen, Steven.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Nicks Jackson Here a time for Florida man, Florida man.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Now, I cannot confirm nor deny.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
That this guy is from Florida, but if I were
a betting man, I would say he is and I'm
anxious to see when they catch him. This took place
in Nebraska, but it was a rental car. Okay, So
East and Nebraska are looking for you, very forgetful person
who returned to a rental car and he left a
(30:08):
little something behind nine pounds of meth.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Definitely from Florida, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
I'm telling you he drove the rental the Nebraska to
sell meth and left it in the car. He returned
them to the rental car and left nine pounds of
meth in it. Local police they do have some info
on who rented the vehicle, but they're they're not quite
(30:39):
sure yet, so the investigation continues. They think they think
they're onto them, but they don't know. They On socials, though,
are inviting whoever left the meth in the car to
own up on the police social media on Facebook. Feel
free to stop by and speak with Officer Marquez is
(31:00):
more than happy to collect your information and take you
for a short walk across the Street to visit the
beautiful Hall County.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Department of Corrections.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
And then there's a photo of the drugs. They've got
them all splayed out on the hood of the car.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
In case the drugs you left aren't those, like if
you left different drugs.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Well, dude, if like, if you were a big time
drug dealer, and one would assume if you've got nine
pounds of maths, you're selling a lot of drugs, right.
What were you thinking when you got home and went, oh, crap.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Like it's gone, it's gone. How do you forget nine pounds?
Speaker 2 (31:38):
An?
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Man, you're from Florida, or you're you're partying with your
own supply, which is a big no no, right.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Or it can be confusing returning the rental.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
You're digging into your own supply. You left nine pounds.
I don't get it. I'm anxious to see what happens
when they finally pop this guy eight twenty seven. It's
DC's Classic Rock, Big one hundred, DC's Class Crock. It's
Big one hundred and Eddie Money take me Home tonight,
Jackson here, Hey, Dennis Katie Ledecki is a friggin legend.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Did you see that.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Does owns eight gold medals Jackson and twelve overall. And
she said, I'm not done. It's gonna be another Olympics
in my future.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Love that gal. Dude, that fifteen her she was, she was.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
She beat her competition by ten seconds.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
I know she was so far ahead. Did it look
like they were swimming in the wrong direction.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
That's amazing on a whole.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Other level, It's really incredible. You know. One other thing
I want to mention about the Olympics. I'm you know,
I'm enjoying a watching all the sports, and I know
you're catching stuff when you can, but it's I really
loved watching the women's rugby seven and they medled for
the first time in their history, which I think is cool.
And if you haven't checked out folks, Alona mar on TikTok,
yeah please do so. She's just she's a national treasure.
(32:57):
But one really cool local connection to women's seven rugby
team that I found out yesterday on social media. Some
people might know the owner of the Washington Spirit are
are NWSL team, and they're a fantastic right I think
their first place right in the WSL. Her name is
Michelle Kane and she is a entrepreneur businesswoman, owns the Spirit,
(33:18):
also owns a team in Europe, and I think she
owns two English Premier Team women's teams. She went to
the Olympics and said in front of the rugby team,
the women's seven, I am donating for the next four
years one million dollars per year, four million dollars overall,
so we can win a gold some day. How generous
and how cool is that?
Speaker 3 (33:37):
That's fantastic, is she Hi?
Speaker 2 (33:39):
By the way, I've already put in my resume, you're's
gonna be right behind because I know we'll be looking
for work soon. So that's the that's a done deal.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, yeah, it's pretty amazing. Man loves the rugby team.
I love that they put women's rugby really on the
map for the for the US, and I absolutely one
gold in their future, bronze this time around.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
But that's that was dammaged.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
It was And by the way, those those games are
played in front of sixty five thousand people every time.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Yeah, it's incredible.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Yeah, it's it's insane that that chip you have in
your brain that runs everything is interfering with your cell phone.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
It kind of breaks up every now and then.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Oh my apology, so I'll try and go to a
wonderful area.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
So you are out at Commander's training camp this morning.
What's planned for this morning?
Speaker 2 (34:29):
I'm in short so I know that I don't like
to bring out the white sticks too often, but the
day I had because it's warm out, So looking forward
to practice.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Do not wear shirts tomorrow, please? Yeah, So today's pads, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
We do pats for the last several days. And you know,
the guys I think are really enjoying it. I know Dan,
I know Dan Quinn's enjoying it. You know, he's old school. Yeah,
and they are hitting out there, except for the quarterbacks,
of course. But I keep on watching Jade Daniels. And
you'll get a chance tomorrow when the show's out live
the location. I know you're going to talk about who
you're going to interview tomorrow, and then we'll have all
those interviews next week. But it's gonna be fun to
(35:02):
watch everybody in pats and how he's throwing the ball,
and I'm really looking forward to But you know, this
is really a fun time. And by the way, just
mentioned football starts tonight, and what I mean by that
is that we have the Hall of Fame game tonight
and we've got the Texans and the Bears. I know
it past your bedtime, eight o'clock kickoff on ESPN, but
football is back.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Baby, it is.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
It is indeed, And I tell you what if you
do not already out there, follow the Commanders on socials.
Their social team is one of the best I've ever seen, because.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
This is knocking it out of the part. They're having
a lot of fun playing along. It's really it's really good.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Like I couldn't agree more.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
They are are so good at what they're doing. Mike,
you know, kudos to whoever's running that program over there.
But they put some amazing stuff up. And I was
watching a couple of videos of Jaden throwing too receivers and.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
He looks ood. There was one where, you.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
Know, the one thing that yeah, the two things that
really and and I know you and I saw this
on tape and a little bit with OTAs than in
person when they were doing some girls. But the two
things that stick out to me are his pinpoint accuracy
and him flicking the ball fifty yard n Yeah, it's
it's really incredible to watch. I mean, when when folks
(36:14):
get to see him in preseason. Folks, we don't know
what a kind quarterback he's gonna be the NFL. I know,
we keep on saying we don't know. Yeah, but watching
him in practice and I'm looking forward to preseason, it's
a whole other level of quarterback. It's uh. The only
way I can compare it to is that when when
Lamar came out of school and you know he's doing
so many incredible things for the Baltimore Ravens, Now Lamar Jackson.
(36:37):
He's he's that body type and it's two oh five.
He's tall, he's leaning. He's muscular though, but he's effortless
when he runs and he throws. But folks, he's accurate
and the one thing that all insiders talk about if
a quarterback is going to succeed in the NFL, A
learn how to slide and no get hit, b be
super accurate.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
And he is. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Yeah, everything I've seen us far as impressive. I can't
wait to see him next you playing a game, It's
gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Yeah, it's gonna be good now tomorrow and then next
week we should cheez who you're gonna have? Do you
want to talk about it? Do you want me to
talk about it?
Speaker 3 (37:08):
I did already. We're gonna we're gonna chat with the
Trust Way.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
We're gonna chat with Sam Cosmi, We're gonna chat with
the Austin Eckler. Uh, We're gonna chat with Emanuel Forbes.
We may see if we can get to like Coach
Kingsbury or Coach Witt on the.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
On the program.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Yeah, yeah, we got We got a bunch of cool
stuff lined up for tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
It's gonna be fun so full show live on location
in Ashbourne tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Yeah, although you invited, you invited the boss Way to go, Dennis.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Well, you know what I think. The bosses invited themselves.
So the suits are gonna be there. So do your
very best, look your best, smell your best. Let's let's
let's put on a great We.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Were gonna have another great time at training camp and
you invited the boss nice.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Yeah, I have my apologies.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
All right, thank you, Dennis, appreciate it. Man.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
All right, guys, have a good one.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
All right, I'll see in the morning. All right.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Uh, yeah, we're live at training camp tomorrow. Let's see
if we can give away some tickets for Rob Zomby
and Alice Cooper.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
What have we learned on the show to day? What
he got?
Speaker 4 (38:01):
Well, we have to assume was a Florida man. Yep,
returned to rental car, but he left something behind? There
you go, why are you leaving the car? One hundred
four nine three one double three?
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Good luck from DC's Classic Rockets a big one hundred
DC's Classic Rockets Big one hundred and let's see if
we can get a winner for Rob Zombie and Alice
Cooper tickets. What have we learned on the show today?
We'll go to the phones. Hi, who's this Dan?
Speaker 5 (38:23):

Speaker 4 (38:23):

Speaker 3 (38:24):
How are you this morning?
Speaker 7 (38:25):
Good?
Speaker 3 (38:25):
How are you pretty good?
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Hey? Dan?
Speaker 1 (38:26):
If you were listening earlier, we were talking about the
guy that returned the rental car and he left something behind?
Speaker 3 (38:31):
What was it? Don pounds the math? Yes, yes, indeed
nine pounds in math? Uh yeah. Congratulations. We're gonna set
you oup with tickets to see Rob Zombie and Alice
Cooper fantastic. Hold on the line and we'll get some
