Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Jewel Show and he's performing at the Kentucky
Derby coming up this weekend. Of course, you know him.
He's been in the game forever. I'm talking about T.
I is on Zoom with us right now. I don't
know what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
What is happening. I'm not sure anyway, he's on.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
He's on Jim, they said at the Zoom calls and
everyone knows he looks. It looks like he's somewhere anyway. Hey, T,
I was up, man, how are you restaurant?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
So I guess the come man, I gotta do this
interview right where you going rid with me?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
And you guys want to go?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Okay, we'll wait for you. My bad.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's all good, man, handle your business where you are
right now? T.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
I'm okay, wait T. I thanks for taking the time.
I know you're in a restaurant eating with your son,
right yeah, the money man.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
You are busy?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
D I well try that to let no grass grow
on to my feet, you know?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah? Do you ever stop?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Stop? What?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
When do you rest?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Rest? These are all foreign concepts stopping resk?

Speaker 4 (01:09):
How can I say this? I just became synonymous with
hard work. Ever since I came in. It just always
felt like, in order for me to feel as though
I was optimizing my opportunities, it just always got to
be turning this success into the next success, pulling fruit

(01:30):
and planting seeds. Just because these trees now bear fruit,
that does not mean it's not time to plant new seeds.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
You did what I'm saying absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
You know, this year marks twenty years of trap music,
So for at least twenty to twenty two years, I've
been just programmed in, conditioned to keep my feet moving,
keep my head down and working continuously.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
And that's just what I've been doing.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I like that about you, though, because you are evolving
and you continue to grow. Oh, you continue to evolve.
And the new song that's out, we just listened to
it as dope man, tell us a little bit about that.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Is that active with Kevin Gates? Man, You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Gates and that man, we've developed, you know, a big brother,
little brother relationship.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, and that song is a vibe. I love the
vibe that you create.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
Man.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Like even right now, let's say you got a TI interview,
you hop on zoom. You're in a restaurant wrapping up
with your son. Now you're in the car driving. You know,
it's like you're talking to your homie on FaceTime or something.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Well, you know what, first about it? What I'm gonna do? Man,
I'm gonna pull over. I'm gonna cut my call. I
can't really hit.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
You that will, Yeah, self service, man, I should have.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Drove a different card conduct the interview.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Hi, t I.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
I mean, you know opportunities are coming up, and we
know you're gonna be doing the Derby? So how much
rest do you think you need before you pop up
at the derby?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
With everybody?

Speaker 4 (02:48):
I'm more automatic, you know what I mean? It hit
the stage of perform That's something that I do. Sake
in nature this and plus you know the energy of
the crowd is that's what's going to fuel my performance.
Speaking of vibes in exchange of vibes is what are performance?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
See?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
This is what a cusstort is, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I love that.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
The other important question I have for you TI the
Kentucky Derby it's almost like a fashion show.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Do you already know what you're gonna wear?

Speaker 4 (03:10):
No, it's what's in me, not what's on me that's important.
You did and always I'm definitely a connoisseur of fashion.
I've been fortunate enough to own, operate, and design for
two fashion lines of my own. But the main thing is, Man,
it's about energy. It's about how you feel at the time.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
So on the day of, however I'm feeling, is what
I be given. Whatever ensemble I put together and whatever
it is, I want you to know, no matter how
major or minute, I just want you to know that
them clothes when before I put them.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
On that part.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, I love that quote too, Ti. It's what's in me,
not what's on me. And you're performing at the Kentucky Derby,
it's gonna be huge, and traditionally women wear huge floppy
loud hats at the Kentucky Derby, So Ti U T,
I could be inside of a huge floppy hat, you know,
like one of those huge Derby floppy hats with the
mint julip.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Now, to maintain a significant level of authenticity, what would
have to happen is I would have to have the
spirit of a big flat head.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
That's true. And I think you know what, you have
such a positive, good vibe. I mean, I think that
is the perfect way to describe it, Man, what's your energy?
Big floppy hat energy.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I would take that into fair consideration. You know, I
love it, man.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I get no's all over the place, and they're always
like that. I will think about that a real quick Ti.
I always like to ask people this, especially people like
you who are an icon in the music industry. You
got all kinds of successful businesses. You're an entrepreneur, and
I'm big on mindset and highlighting positivity, and I haven't
met one person who is successful like you who has
a negative mindset. Everybody setbacks and problems, for sure, but

(05:02):
there's a difference between letting it beat you or continuing
to be positive all the way through it. So for
anybody listening who struggles with that, what's your mindset?

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Like Ti?

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Man, that's a very broad question, MANU, superbroad. I mean, bro,
I just gotta make it happen type of manset. I
think you know what I'm facebok obstacles. I understand that
going to be uncertainty me understanding that I don't expect
things to always go the way that I anticipate, and
I don't expect things to come easy.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
So when things get hard, it's like, Okay, I was.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Waiting on this, you know what I mean, And so
instead of just kind of harping on how difficult it is,
I just kind of try to find the solve, like
what is the solution to this issue? And I think
that perspective shifted my energy and my efficiency in solving problems.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Broad question, but a beautiful answer makes total sense. Well,
listen to you. I know you got to run.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
We'll make sure everybody checks it out because you're performing
a freedom hall on Thursday, May fourth. Yes, I'm reading
this because like I can't keep notes in my head with.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
GZ and never never a bad time to floss the
ability to read.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
I mean, that's really what I was doing. I only
learned it a couple of weeks ago. Even last thing,
t I, you said you're done with music after this album.
So next chapter a line of T I huge floppy that.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Official?

Speaker 3 (06:35):
If I do that, what you gonna do?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
You see what I might learn grammar I might learn.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
That brings me to my final piece of advice for
entrepreneurs and creatives.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Follow your vision.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Okay, don't let nobody talk to you out of your vision.
Your vision is yours for a reason. Everybody was blessed
with gifts. Everybody has a place and a purpose in
the world. And listen, if yours is big, flap ahead
and don't give it to me.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
All right, First I'm will learn pre algebra and then
flopp your hats Hey, thank you for the time, Bro,
appreciate you, man, thank you.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Have a good one.
