That's right, good morning, Goodmorning. We have in the building none
other than the Curtis Giving entrepreneur inthe building, entrepreneur mongul, you're a
mogul. You've been in this game? How long Curtis? Twenty eight years?
Who? Twenty eight years? Twentyeight? Wow? And how long

(00:22):
have you been doing the All Whitetwenty three? Twenty three? Yes?
But even before then, man,you know, Mike Where used to tell
me about what kind of kid youwere. You hustled, man, He
said you yeah, cutting your eyesas a kid. Man, I was
hustled. I started taking care ofmyself at thirteen. Yeah. Anybody that
grew with me can verify that Iwas thirteen, I started cutting her uh.

(00:47):
And I had a lawn service whenI was fifteen minutes, remember that
fifteen? And then at eighteen Ihad the Beepers. I had three companies.
By the age of eighteen, youhad the Beepers, I had the
beeper Shop. You sure did?Wow? Wow? And what do you
think you can attribute to your longevityin the game almost thirty years? The

(01:08):
willingness to change with time, andI get stuck in your ways. You
know sometimes as you know when youget older, especially if you think about
your grandmama's and granddaddy's or mamas andthey get stuck in their ways and they
just liked it forever, which isnothing wrong with that. But then if
you want to stay relevant in thissociety, you got to change with time.

(01:30):
Yeah, hence the All White AffairFestival. Now man switched up on
the we got food Trucks, musicdance. Now you post us AF video
you posted like what twelve hours agoor so? Setting up over there behind
it looks like the mahall Man,it looks like the mahall over. Yeah,

(01:53):
we're the first one actually were upunder the canopy. Yeah, Tom,
you know, I'd like to bethe first to do things. A
lot of people might not on myhistory, but I said I was gonna
get people a history lesson, yessoon about some of the things that I
have done and things y'all have helpedme with that they don't even know.
But they said, we the firstwant to do an event up under the
canopy. Okay, because nobody wantedto cover the floor. It's a basketball

(02:16):
court, So in order to doit, you had to cover the floor.
It's twenty thousand square feet. Yeah, it's huge and nobody wants to
do it. But I did it. Now I tell you, we'll post
that. We need to share thaton our page. Yeah, but I
saw it on your page. Theway things look as they as they're set
up. People love that that.Oh yeah, I love it. I
saw it about four or five times. It's a lot to come with it.

(02:36):
Yeah, while I was while Iwas supposed to be working over here.
Yeah. Yeah, So we're preparingright now. I know you've incorporated.
This would be the fourth year ofthe Power thirty. Tell me about
the Power thirty. Why did youinstitute this into the all white weekend?
So, first of all, thePower thirty takes place tomorrow right at the
Cadre Building at nine pm. Youcan get your tickets and see you Entertainment

(02:59):
dot com. But really, whatmade me do the Power thirty? To
be honest, you know, withour culture, you have a lot of
negativity amongst us, right, right, you have. So if anything go
wrong with you, in anything gowrong with me, people ready to blast
to blast, right, But theydon't know the great things in the dude,

(03:21):
the great things Mike Evans do.So what I wanted to do was
highlight my black brothers and black sistersand have a positive night dedicated to them
because there's a lot of people doinggreat things. So I thought there was
a good time to share great goodlight on the black community, to show
that we have people doing positive thingslike a very own Stormy Yes, the

(03:43):
Stormy Power thirty five years she spentwith me on the show have elevated her
to those standards that she's down.Just do for it. I think that's
amazing that your highlighting MYTHI is becauseyou know, Memphis, it's tied to
you know, not always positive outhere, you know, just not from

(04:04):
a local level, even a globallevel. We were just looking at some
stats the other day about Memphis andthe crime rate. So I'll applaud you
for shining the light on positivity herein Memphis. Yes, and your Memphis
bread. Why Memphis? Why didyou stay to cultivate your brand in Memphis?
Memphis been good to me, youknow, you know, people ask
me that all the time, especiallymy buddies out of town. They asked,

(04:27):
why you're still there? You canbe doing more in another city.
But in my mind, like it'sbeen so good to me. I can't
leave in terms of I just can'tleave. I'm lawyer because people have been
lawyer to me. You got tothink I've been doing this thing twenty eight
years, right, twenty eight Likewhen you really think about it, that's
a long long time it is.And the lord to point goes it's just

(04:49):
like people kids now are having agood time on my stuff and the reason
why they are coming because their parentsare vouching for what I do. You
know what. But and the dealers, we talked about this a little bit
before we actually got started. Youreally you're the celebrity. You're the who
they want to be around. You'rethe person that they want to see in

(05:10):
my estimation, because I know whenyou're out you get the star treatment just
based on who you are. Yeah, but I also say this though,
man, your humility, you knowabout doing things, you could be You
could be that dude that like, man, you don't even want to be
around him. But it's the totaloppostion. You've got all the success,
all these accolades, all the thingsyou always do, and it's like people
just gravitate to you. They wantto be there because of you. You

(05:34):
put somebody else in this event.Tell me people show up next year.
Let it be the All White somethingwithout Curtis Gibbons crickets. But you know
I mean that because I guarantee youthat that's what people you are like,
you're your own brand, You're yourown entity when it comes to this kind
of well, yeah exactly, andI thank God for and I thank the

(05:56):
people for it because they made mea brand. You know what they support.
You know, it's like this weekend, I decided I won't bring in
no celebrities, and everything almost soldout, you know what I mean,
Like they don't care. They're comingbecause of what we provide, exactly what
we provide strictly. You probably gotpeople that have been there, been at
everyone, and somebody's coming for thefirst time, say they're coming for the

(06:17):
very first time, never been therebefore. You got some people that ain't
missed, yeah exactly, and thenyou guys, some people I ain't going.
I did that all my life. And then next thing, you know,
what can they expect? What canthey what can they expect at the
All White Affair this year? Well, I want to talk about this.

(06:40):
A guy made a post under mycomments. Uh, under comments for the
all White and it showed all thesections, and he was like, sections
have killed the social engagement in nightlife, right, And I responded to
I never really responded to people. If you ever know this, I don't
never respond to people, which therewasn't, no foolishnes but I never just

(07:00):
you know, give my opinion becauseyou gotta be careful. But after all
White, not only do we havesections, we got dancing areas. We
got a lot of seating for thegeneral people who don't want be out piece
sections. Right. You know, some people they can afford it, but
they just don't want it. Andit's fine, you know what I mean.
They just want to get the callwe got. We got something for
everybody, you know what I mean. So when he came across like that,

(07:21):
it made it seem like it wasjust number of VIP sections. That's
not true. We got seating likefor four or five hundred people, just
regular seats. We're gonna have umbrellasin the look Lawn area if people want
to get a blanket and sit down. So it's gonna be something everybody.
Yeah, he's looking for something alongthe line apple Bee's. He's looking for

(07:42):
something like Apple Beats or something. That's what you get your things. I
can't wait. I can't wait.Uh should I say this or not?
I'm gonna say it. I wasgonna surprise you guys. But I got
a ten minute firework show going onthere. Okay, that's beautiful off the

(08:03):
Mississippi, Mississippi. Maybe I'm gonnado it at nine. We got a
firework shirt. It was gonna surpriseeverybody, a five to ten minute firework
show. We're gonna enjoy. We'regonna get our camera phones out. Stop
the music, and we're gonna justenjoy and celebrate. Those life phones are
all charged up. Oh yeah, that's gonna be a nice edition. And

patty. It's the best pathy onthe state. It's just a vibe.
