(00:00):
Feel Good with Priscilla and Joey inthe Morning on the Tom Brady Roast on
Netflix. I finally got a chanceto watch some of it yesterday or last
night. I kept falling asleep becauseit's like a three hour production. But
how could you fall asleep? Itwas so funny. You know what's interesting
is like you start to watch allthese people like Bill Belichick was there right

(00:20):
his old coach and he's clearly nota comedian. No, and I'm sorry,
but even though it's Bill Belichick,it was terrible to watch him.
Oh I tried to deliver a roast. Yeah, he was a little awkward,
but I do do think some ofhis lines were funny. But I
didn't think Ron Burgundy was that funnypersonally. Who was your favorite? Who
you think Tony Hinchcliff and Nicky Glazer? Yeah, okay, so I didn't

(00:41):
see Tony Hinchcliff. I gotta watchhim, I know my husband did.
I was trying to stay away frohim, but I fell asleep. But
Nikki I loved her so much. And you know what I love the most
about it is that it is socool when like your colleagues like Kevin Harr
and the other who's the other guy, the Bert Krascher Kreischer and then who's
the ghost Jeff Rost. Yes,they all praised her on how great she

(01:03):
did. And it's just like sucha cool thing when like your colleagues are
your coworkers think you did awesome likethat. For example, of Tim Hatrick
from down the hall, who's alegend in Arizona and i X came down,
is like, Priscilla, you're reallygood at your job. It'd be
like, oh my gosh, I'mso like honored, I know, especially
when they are just coming after eachother like they did. And I guess
Giselle bunch in which she was obviouslya big part of that Tom Brady's X

(01:29):
she was not happy with roast.Yeah, we'll have to talk about that
a little bit later on this morning, but it was awesome. He's check
it out. It is three hourslong, but it's worth watching over the
course of a few days. Okay, feeling good with Priscilla and Joey in
the morning on we are Priscilla andJoey. We're so excited. We have
Brent and Zach from Shining down inthe studio. Hello, Welcome guys,

(01:53):
how's everyone feeling. It was likea modest podcast, like where do you
put the microphone? There? Yeah? There we go. So let's talk
a little bit about the music. You guys just re entered the top forty
charts with a symptom of being humanfor the first time since you're Meg How
you said it, right? Idid. It's so interesting how people have
a hard time saying the name forwhatever. What are they saying? Symptoms

(02:14):
of being humans? That's not itspans. There's a lot of different Yeah,
yeah, yeah, So tell ushow that feels. Since two thousand
and nine was Second Chance coming in, So this is the first time since
then, right, Zach? Tellthem about our master plans, Like we
never left. We were just youknow, I was like when you when
you're a kid, You're like,I wonder if I hit out in like
the Target or the Toys r USbathroom and then after they close, they

(02:35):
wouldn't see me. That's what wedid with Top forty. You guys did
we stayed there the whole time, just waiting. Yeah, we did,
patiently. Okay, So let's talkabout May being Mental health month. You
guys are big on mental health andall that, and so just tell us
a little bit about your messaging andwhat you know fans can expect when it
comes to your music, and inthat mental health realm. We've been talking

(02:57):
about mental health for our entire career, which is twenty plus years, and
it's great now that it's becoming somethingthat isn't taboo to talk about or you
don't feel like you can't talk aboutit to other people. And also,
you know, it's something that we'vebeen very involved about. We've all lost
people in our lives and things likethat, so it's something that we take
very seriously and something that we youknow, I'm glad it's out there.

(03:17):
Now. Here's the thing. Meand Zach we're lighthearted. Yeah, pretty
much twenty four to seven, exceptfor the two hours we're on stage,
myself and Zach and Barry and Ericbecause that's a performance. But it's also
one of those things for us whenwe walk on deck, we know that

(03:38):
people are we want them to letit go. Yeah, and I let
it go. I mean, you'rethere to release whatever is going on in
your life. You're there to decompress, you're there to celebrate. You're there
because you're around total strangers. Butthe fact of the matter is is you're
all there for a common goal witheach other, which is to celebrate music
whatever genre that is, band, that is, artist that is And the

(04:00):
thing is is for us, wejust want people to know that it's okay
to not have all the answers inyour lifetime. That's why it's a journey.
Can I just say that being anadvocate and being so in the mental
health world, it really is anart because you have to do it in
a way where you're not constantly inthe heavy side of things, but then
you're also not Also, an audiencedoesn't like pandering, well, that's what

(04:23):
I'm saying, and then you haveto be authentic, but you also have
to like not push the toxic positivity. So the balance of being authentic but
also deep diving deep into those feelingsbut also showing that there's good in life
is an art. So close toyou guys for being able to do that
so beautifully, and that's why Ithink your fan base is so strong because
they feel that about you. It'sauthentic, it's real, Like you said,

(04:46):
it's it's not pandering. Here's thething too, you know, we
started writing songs because it's cheaper thantherapy. I've seen that tread about guys
things I did to avoid therapy. It's like, right, you don't break
and go to a rage room. It's like all the things go to a
rage room. Rooms are that's abig thing. Now. There's a bunch

(05:06):
of big corporations that I know. There was a story a couple of years
ago where these corporations literally they usedrage rooms as a team building and so
they let them all go into theserooms and just destroy it. And they
found that like everach other. Yeah, the next day everybody was like,
what's up, you know, Johnwas happening? Yeah, good, that's
going on. How you doing?Hell yeah, you know, it's like

(05:29):
all you needed to do was justdestroy something. Thank you guys so much
for joining us. We're so excitedfor all of your guys successus and you
know, breaking into the top fortywith a symptom of being human and just
thanks again for stopping by, seriouslytoo, to the both of you,
thanks for being you know, oneof the you know, one of the
stations out of the gate, youknow with symptom. This has been a

(05:50):
fifteen month process on terrestial radio andcrossing four major formats. But when I
go back to the beginning of thesong, it started with you, guys
and girls. You were one ofthe first stations out of the gate.
So thank you for continuously supporting theband. It never goes on you,
of course. All right, thankyou guys. Check it out, shine

(06:11):
down, quaking up and feeling goodwith Priscilla and Joey on Mix morning.
It's Big sinety six to nine. We're Priscilla and Joey and let's get into
a feel good story. And todayI have to give a shout out to
my husband because he is the subjectof today's feel good story. Yes,
so like most dads, Joey,I feel like you'd fall into this camp.

(06:33):
When you have kids, you gottado things you don't want and things
that make you feel uncomfortable. Evenwhen you have a partner, you have
to do the same thing. That'strue. Well, my daughter Jack,
she's in folklotico, which is atraditional Mexican dance. Right, she's been
in it for years and she hasrecitals, the traditional attire, the whole
thing, right. Well, thisyear, during her recital, they're doing

(06:54):
a father daughter dance. Okay,it's amazing, Okay, so not only
is it a father daughter dance,it's a true day Mexican dance that if
you don't know, my husband's white, he's real white. Okay, yes,
well Bakersfield white is like Mexican too, you know what I mean.
But he definitely is like, I'mnot well versed in the in this cultural
dance, but she's my daughter,Like, I gotta make it happen.

(07:16):
And at first he's like, doI really gotta do this? Like is
this really a thing? Because Ithink most guys would be that way right,
I would just be afraid to dancein front of someone. Well,
he's like, he sucked it up. He bucked up. And not only
is my husband included in this dance, he became the team captain dad and
started teaching all the other dads thedance and his scheduled practices at home with

(07:41):
our daughter to get this dance down. You know what, this checks out.
This checks This is definitely a Michaelmove. He doesn't want to do
something and then he's he's just goingfull in. Yeah, Oh that's his
thing. He's got to perfect it. If he's gonna do it, he's
got to do it right. He'seven Tellgjacks. He's like, Jacks,
you're spinning the wrong way. You'respinning the right way. It's really cute.
I have the video up on ourInstagram stories if you want to check

(08:03):
it out at mcscity six nine FM. It just feels good for Scilla and
Joey in the morning on Mix ninetysix nine. If I never had to
decide what to eat again in mylife, it would be too soon.
Oh really, And I feel likeI am along with seventy nine percent of
Americans who say that deciding what toeat is the most difficult decision they have

(08:24):
to make. See, I makemy decision what I want to eat for
dinner, like after breakfast, LikeI already know throughout the day what I
want to eat. Really, yeah, how do you do? What do
you just wake up and you're like, all right, I'm always playing my
bread food. Remember the other day, I was like, Hey, I'm
gonna have a wild Friday night whenyou guys were going to Lovers and Friends.
I was like, I text Chaneland I told her I'm having zips

(08:45):
hot wings tonight. So I don'teven know what I'm gonna eat for breakfast.
And that's in like forty five minutes, I think I'm gonna have like
pistachios. And I think it's becauseit's just it feels exhausting to decide.
I'm like, all right, whathas nutritional value? What tastes? What
can I prepare? That's easy.I mean, I'm not gonna lie my
wife and I when we do getsomething when we're going out, like what
what do you want? What doyou want to pick up? It's it's

(09:07):
always a battle. I told myhusband. I was like, I don't
care if we go to QT fora hot dog, just decide, Okay.
I want him to take the mentalload of deciding what tea for dinner.
I literally did that last week whenI was getting gas. I ate
a Circle K hot dog. Absolutelynot so I just I'm like, no,
thank you don't want to pick whattea? Now? Do you have
a restaurant that you defer to ifyou both are Taco Bell, mine salad

(09:31):
and girl, it's always Taco Bell. I think I spent more Taco Bell
money on Taco Bell last year thanI did on groceries outside. I mean,
I love Taco Bell. I getit. The stories your bestie sent
you on social media last night,It's time for What's Trending with Priscilla and
Joey Mon mix brought to you byHila River Resorts and Casino. It feels

(09:54):
better than good news and good teachersgetting recognized. So several Arizona teachers are
recognized locally and nationally for positively impactingtheir community. In fact, one teacher
of Fray Casillas, a longtime musicteacher in Tulison, went to the White
House and earned Arizona's Teacher of theYear award and attended a White House state

(10:18):
dinner with the first Lady. That'samazing. Yeah, and there's four other
teachers that were nationally recognized throughout thevalley. If you want to check them
out. We have him up onher Instagram at mix sinety six NINEFM,
and each teacher will get a cashreward. So that's super cool. Chloe
kart Ashian, you know, Ipraise her for being vulnerable, but also
this is a hard thing to admit. You know, she had her son

(10:39):
via sarrogacy. Yes, she saidfor the first eight months of his life,
she had zero bonding towards him. She's like, I felt nothing.
I didn't really feel like he wasmy son. In fact, I made
Tristan take three DNA tests because Iwas not sure that he was really our
son. That isn't that that's abit mon Isn't that wild to hear?

(11:01):
I mean, I again, Iappreciate her being vulnerable, but that's a
hard thing to admit. She said. Obviously she's worked through a lot of
that. But I think that's oneof the things that you may be risk
when you do sarrogacy. Yeah, and I feel like a lot of moms
go through that even if they are, you know, having the baby,
if they're not giving the bonding experiencethat they want. I know, it's
it's to Monfood's tough in general, you know what I mean. So thank

(11:22):
you to Chloe for at least talkingabout it. Oh man, TikTok is
not going down without a fight. You know, they're potentially going to be
banned here in the US. Butnow TikTok is suing the United States because
they're saying that they are going againstlaw violations agounst free speech, and they're
claiming that they're going to shut downTikTok and they're like, no, you're

(11:43):
not, because it's not against yourconstitution. And all the things right.
I did not think a social mediaplatform TikTok would be suing the United States
government in twenty twenty four. Thingsjust keep getting weirder by the day.
I know it is not feeling goodin the morning with Priscilla and Joey on
mixed We're Priscilla and Joey and uh. I also run to Costco for cleaning

(12:03):
products, and I saw this listof TikTok cleaning hacks that experts are warning
you not to do, and I'mlike, but I do like three of
these. Now, why would thesebe considered hacks? So they're hacks as
far as like getting your home cleanerthan normal. Are ways to keep it
clean without putting too much effort inokay, And I love them because you

(12:26):
guys know me, I am aclean freak when it comes to like the
deep cleaning part of my life.So I was I do. I don't
know what it is. It's likeit's like an itch I need to scratch
baby. But here are the thingsthat experts are warning you not to do
at home. Completely overloading the toiletwith cleaning products, so lysol, bleach,
abrasive powders, don't double down.Uh, they're saying, don't put

(12:50):
a bottle of fabuloso in the toilettank. You know, it's like it's
like, what's the pine sal right, It's like a version of pine sauce.
Don't put that in your washing thetoaster under the faucet. Okay,
if you're doing that, there's aproblem. Wait what yeah? Right,
is TikTok and you need to tellus to stop doing this. Listen,
there's also a reason why people tellyou not to dry your hair in the

(13:13):
bathtab TikTok is telling people to cleantheir toaster. That's the problem. That's
the problem. It's the experts. They're telling you not to do it.
Boiling soapy water in your air fryercontainer, which I was gonna do.
I do that, like the partthat you actually put in the air fryer.
Why aren't you supposed to clean that? I don't get it, and
then mixing bleach and vinegar to clean. I've learned that since my day age

(13:39):
of like five years old old. That's how you're supposed to clean. I
was gonna say, I have acleaning hack. If I can't clean it
with a liceole wipe, then it'sit's not gonna work. I use liceol
wipes for everything that's not cleaning. That's cleaning. That's the bare minimum joke.
That's a daily pickup to me.I'm like putting all the chemicals in
everything, Like, I don't understandhow you guys keep your house clean without

(14:01):
having flammable chemicals. I don't knowhow you. I don't know how you
breathe in the house with all thechemicals you have? The points not clean?
How do you clean sit? Inever mix chemicals like that. Yeah,
my mom always taught me not todo that. My mom's dangerous.
See my mom said, if it'snot clean, if you don't put it
all together, and your nose hairsdon't burn. Literally, my mom would

(14:24):
sit with ajax in the bathtub literallyfor hours and let it soak before she
would clean it off. I thinkI would need a mask, yeah,
my mom. Yeah, it's sofunny say that we have a gas mask
that we used to clean. That'stoo much or is it just a perfect
I don't know. I don't thinkit is house. I'm concerned for your

(14:48):
family. Feel good with Priscilla andJoey in the morning. I mix it's
about to get hot. It's timefor Today's Hot Topic with Priscilla and Joey
on. So Taylor Swift tells RollingStone that the only way she can turn
her brain off and not think aboutwork or friends or personal life is by

(15:09):
watching CSI or Law and Order.Okay, I checked out, which is
hilarious because then it made me startthinking, like aush, when was the
last time I truly fully turned mybrain off? And I don't know that
I have, Like Joey, doyou fully totally turn your brain off?
Yes? I actually did last night. I always have like two shows I
watched before I go to bed,and like, as I'm going to sleep,

(15:30):
it's either seinfeld Er Family Guy andthey're so stupid and I've seen him
so many times I don't even reallypay attention. Just like the sounds of
those shows just help me like meditatemy brain. Do you play on your
phone while you're watching those shows? No? So you literally are not thinking
at all while you're watching. I'mliterally staring at the screen with my mouth
open, like, I mean, how do you I was gonna say,

(15:54):
do you have something where you couldjust turn your brain off? Well,
luckily, my brain is off mostof the time the driver. If I
really need to unplug and turn mybrain off, I have to read because
then I'm using everything. Right,So I get my kindle out and I
get lost in a book, orif it's a really good movie, I
can, but it's still hard becausethen I have to put my phone literally

(16:15):
away or away from myself. See, I have a struggle. I have
such a struggle turning my brain offbecause I'm always thinking of all the things.
I had a research like ways toturn your brain off effectively, And
one of the things I heard orI read scientifically proved when you hum,
you don't have room to think,so because all you're focusing is on humming,
so your brain can't think of anythingelse. Please start doing that.

(16:37):
You like, literally like can youthink like hum? You can hump to
your swift and just get stuff done. But I was like, but I
don't know if I have the attentionspan for humming that long, right,
So, because when I watch aTV show, I scroll on my phone,
I can't get into it. Myattention span is literally just so shot,
right, And I'm like, Idon't know if it's it's like ADHD.

(17:02):
I mean, I could see itbeing a social media what it is.
But I think we're curious, like, what do people do to turn
their brains off? I'm sure peoplehave some weird little hacks that they do.
Yeah, like a pastime, ahobby, a show. What is
it that you do to just likecompletely turn your brain off? Give us
a call. We want to hearit. Six oh two two six oh
nine, six' nine. Feelinggood with Priscilla and Joey in the morning

(17:26):
on Mixed ninety six over hot topicwhen we're asking you, what are ways
that you turn your brain off soyou're not running a million miles an hour
inside your head? Yes, andwe're gonna get to Alice Alicia. I'm
sorry in just a second. Butsome scientifically proven ways to turn your brain
off Joey and adult coloring book.Have you ever tried those? I can't

(17:47):
really. I have tried it,and I loved it because it is very
relaxing. I feel like Rob Gronkowskiif I do it, no car but
actually would aligne right? Yeah?I would another way obviously, things like
meditating, but I think that's alittle bit harder than normal. Someone says
spending time with friends where you're kindof sharing every life update, so you're

(18:08):
not so focused on yourself. That'strue, right, So that's a good
one. We have Alisiha on thephone. Alicia, what's the way for
you to turn your brain off?And you're like, oh, this feels
so nice. Well it's okay.I was a comfort show person, Jersey
Shore a friend something like that.Yes, my mind busy, but once
I had kids, all of asudden, it wasn't an issue anymore.

(18:29):
As I lay down, it's like, my brain's ready, real because you're
so tired running around with the kids. Another child, absolutely not. I'm
not gonna do that. So whatyou're saying is be insane during the day,
so your brain stops functioning at night. You're so exhausted by the time
you lay down. That's just ready. Well, thank you, Alicia.

(18:52):
All right, if you have anymore ways to turn your brain off,
and you're just like, this iswhat I do to chill, relax,
turn it off, give us acall. We want to hear it,
no matter what it is. Sixtwo six ohne quaking up and feeling good
with Priscilla and Joey on Mix nine, and we're giving you suggestions on how
to turn your brain off. Andwe have a really great suggestion with our

(19:12):
mixed ninety six to nine night marketat Hila River Resorts and Casinos the Santan
Mountain location in South Chandler. Yes, and there are two ways you can
do that because we're gonna have shoppingthere and there's gonna be alcohol, sir,
while you are shopping. So thoseare two great ways to turn your
brain off. Yeah, it'll beMay eighteenth. That was actually just texting
with my girlfriends yesterday and we're coordinating, like what time to get there.

(19:33):
If we're gonna get there a littleearly and have some cocktails in the lounge,
maybe do a little slots. Butit could either be because we're planning
to make it a girl's night.And I don't know about you, Joey,
but my husband is considered one ofthe girls, Like even though he's
such a dude's dude, he canhang. Yeah. So it's gonna be
my husband and my three girlfriends andme. Well, he's probably gonna be
at the sportsbook the whole time.Maybe maybe. Yeah, So it's gonna

(19:56):
be so much fun. It'll bea great getaway. I'm like your everyday
adult life. There's gonna be localvendors. Just it's gonna be so much
fun with the music and cocktails andin the twinkly lights. And it's at
Nice so it starts at seven pm. So it's perfect because it just sticks
down a bed in the hat out. I'm very, very excited. So
if you want all the details,it's on our Instagram right now at Mix
eety six nine. At that itjust feels good for Scilda and Joey in

(20:18):
the morning on mix or personaly Joeyon Mix eaty six nine. Producers said,
still recovering from Rihanna not being atthe met Gala, because I know
that was what you were really excitedabout. Such a disappointment. It's all
right, there's always next year.Yes, But joe you said a video
in our group chat yesterday with avideo of you and then you described yourself

(20:41):
as miracle with mayonnaise. Yes,because that okay. So I was at
this event last week in a stationevent for Kiss FM, and I was
getting ready to leave and they're like, hey, can we take a video
of you and everybody else on theKiss FM crew? And then we took
a photo. It was fine, and then they're like, all right,
everybody, like, do a funthing, do do some dancing, because

(21:03):
when in front of the DJ boothand in my head I'm like, no,
please, please, for the loveGod, no, I am a
horrible dancer. I don't like dancing. And so there's there's a video of
me dancing and it's literally just meraising the roof. But the way you're
doing it is couldn't be more painful. Yeah, duck lips raising the roof,

(21:26):
but you're not raising because raising theroof is an open palm and like
pushing the roof up looks like I'mtrying to get out of a box.
You're have a closed fist and it'sa barely bent and you're like kind of
like pumping it like yeah, likea fist pump mix with the raise the
roof. Yeah, it's giving, just unaware, not knowing what's happening.

(21:48):
As the kids say, I haveno riz and I'm the human version of
miracle whip. And that's why Isaid that. But the funny here's what
it is. I think it is, Joey. This is a tip for
you, because I don't think anybodybecause I looked at the video, I
for I saw the one that I'massuming SUSA edited No, Jenna's okay,
just like you want. Yeah, but then you sent the original where it's

(22:08):
like everyone dancing right and I'm notgonna lie. Everyone doesn't look like cool.
It's just that they have that confidencefactor. They're like, I don't
have that because I look at Mikeyright next to you. He doesn't look
much cooler than you, but he'slike he's owning what he's doing and he's
like, you know what, Idon't care. So that's what you gotta

(22:29):
do. That's that's how you havethe riz. Okay, so get some
confidence. Yeah, because at leastyou had sunglasses on inside. Say to
me, that was even worse becauseit looks like I'm trying to wear sunglasses
inside, but I was just onmy way out. That's really worse it
Actually, if you want to seethe videos on our Instagram stories right now,
please go make fun of Joey atMix ninety six nine FM Feeling Good

(22:52):
in the Morning with Priscilla and Joeyon Mix all right, if you want
to sell in Joey kicking off commercialfree music, but how far we do
we have shine down in studio JoeyBrent and Zach and we have a chance
for Joy to win tickets to AvrilLevine. Good morning, Joy, Good
morning. Are you ready for thesetickets? Yeah? All right? Cool.
So we're gonna have you, Zachand Brent play for Joy in order

(23:18):
for her to win these Avril Levinetickets because you know, we're back to
the nineties weekend kind of show andthe station, and so we thought we
play Know your Nineties today. Letme just put this over here. Check
it out. It's you guys versus? Okay, versus? Do I need
to take my hoops off? Let'sgo? All right, So I'm gonna

(23:40):
ask you a question, play anaudio clip, and you just have to
give me the answer. We're gonnastart with Priscilla. If she doesn't get
it, you can steal. Okay, one steal per turn all right?
This, this nineties TV show wasnotorious for scaring millennials everywhere. Can I

(24:02):
steal it? Priscilla? Scary Millennia? Are you afraid of the dark Unsolved
mysteries? Unsolved Mysteries is correct?I still watch the amazing Unsolved Mysteries.
It was I knew it was that. At first, it almost sounded like
Rescue nine one one, which isalso a show show. These are all
Saturday night shows, by the way. All right, so you guys are

(24:22):
up on the board and it's yourturn. You guys, zach, No,
no, you guys are a team. Let's go. This nineties boy
band is probably the temperature when youwake up in Arizona on a July day,
ninety eight degrees. Easy. Ididn't even need the clip. Dude.
Both of you are doomed. Iwas born in nineteen eighty three.
Baby, let's do this. Well, we have we have a round two.
