yet another inmate has been scheduled for execution.

Fifty four year old Michael Bernard Bell is sent to
die by lethal injection July fifteenth at Florida State Prison.
Bell was convicted in nineteen ninety five and sentenced to
death for the murders of Jimmy West and Tamika Smith.

Meanwhile, Governor DeSantis signing twelve bills into law heading into
the weekend, including laws pertaining to financial services, workforce education,
and expansion of substance abuse and mental health care services
offered by the state. Construction regulation changes, timeshare protections for buyers,
expanding apprenticeship programs, and establishing a grant program for local

law enforcement agencies to use DNA tests. Basically, the state's
encouraging local agencies to use DNA testing whenever possible, and
that money would be refunded by the state when those
lab tests are sought before The legislature, as mentioned in
my takeaways, set to vote today on a budget for

(01:26):
the twenty twenty five twenty six fiscal year that begins
July first. An agreement between the House and Senate was
reached Friday, and today's vote comes after the required seventy
two hour cooling off period. The overall budget, at one
hundred and fifteen point one billion dollars, is lower than
the current fiscal year budget, which is roughly in line
with what Governor Descantis proposed, and includes many sales tax holidays.

Included in the budget, the back to school sales tax
holiday to be made permanent, along with ending the state's
two percent business rent tax. However, the budget doesn't call
for property tax relief a priority e Fty santusis, or
a sales tax cut a priority of the state House.

seven days. Continues to be encouraging as we're heading down
the second half now of the first month of hurricane season,
still without a peep out there. Gas prices continued lower
through the weekend. They are att a new low for
the year this morning average price for regular unleaded two
ninety five per gallon and the Pond Beaches three twelve,
Martin two ninety seven, Indian River County two ninety eight.

On Thursday, I'd mentioned that that would.

Probably be about the lowest.

Looks like I was off by three cents per gallon,
but it is likely to be about the extent of it,
as we have seen oil prices much higher over the
past week plus and really quite a bit higher since
the escalation and conflict in Iran. So yeah, you're going
to see gas prices that will without a doubt be higher,

probably meaningfully higher, by the end of the week.

Some national headlines. Man I wanted for killing a Minnesota
lawmaker in custody Events Bolter. He was captured alive near
green Isle after being spotted on a trail earlier yesterday
by a camera. Bolter is accused of killing state lawmaker
Melissa Hordman and her husband. He's also accused of shooting
Democrat Senator John Hoffman and his wife. President Trump meeting
with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney today at the g

as the G seven summit gets underway, and Alberta two
nations I've been working on hammering out of trade agreement.
It's Trump's first visit to candidate since twenty eighteen. He's
also scheduled to meet with Mexico's presidents and Ukrainian President
Vladimir Zelenski. CDC rehiring some four hundred sixty employees laid off.
The Department of Health and Human Services has reinstatement notices

were sent out this week. US Army says it succeeded
it's twenty twenty five recruiting goals. Last week, the Army
announced that had signed contracts with over sixty one thousand
Future Soldiers and Mitsubishi Motors North America recalling nearly two
hundred thousand Outlander and Outlander Plug in hybrid electric SUVs.
That's due to faulty software that could cause rearview cameras

to malfunction. Means the image could be lost while backing up,
which could increase crash risk. And those are your headlines.
