This is the Brian Mud Show. I found them.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Who's that?
Speaker 1 (00:25):
That one guy? That one guy who took a look
at the Democrat party in the state of Felard and said,
you know what I need to be doing. I need
to be changing my party affiliation to.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
That is he jolly.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
And name only Jolly and name only. Yeah, I found so.
I've got Florida's updated vetter registration by party. The numbers
here are remarkable. First a word from what may literally
really be the only person who changed their party affiliation
(01:04):
to Democrat in the state of Florida over the past month.
This when he was announcing his bid for governor as
a Democrat, now the former Republican.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
What I do know from rooms like this is we're
probably number one and knowing we want change, we watch
it here.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
We are could have been, could have been potentially someone
who is trying to get excited, or it could be
a dog in pain. One more time, you tell me
a person trying to get excited or dog in pain.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
What I do know from rooms like this is we're
probably number one and knowing we want change.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
We watch it here we are. It's a tough call, right, Uh.
That that is some enthusiasm, right, that might actually have
Jebs please clap beat maybe? Yeah, I mean Jolly is
obviously not need say jawing himself that.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Once Jeb said please clap And I haven't heard the
SoundBite in a while, but I think there was actually more.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Oh for Oh, there's no doubt there a lot.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
This is like a golf a very minor golf clap.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah. I mean, say what you will about Jeb's failed
presidential bid. I mean, the man could still fill a room.
And you know, I was at a couple of those
events in that cycle, and you know it's Jeb Bush.
People still showed up. But yeah, I don't know if
they're like three people in there and a wounded animal,
I'm not sure. But anyway, so that happened. Florida's Republican
(02:31):
Party had another record run in may give you an
idea here. So first of all, you have record Republican
performance across the state right now, coming out of last
November's elections more elected Republicans top to bottom than at
any other point in the state's history. And you take
(02:52):
a look at the changes by better registration over the
past month. The update is in now from the Florida
Division of Elections. This is everything that that it happens staywide.
Entering the month of June. Year to date, Democrats have
lost in the state of Florida another two hundred and
sixty eight thousand, seven hundred voters. Democrats lost over one
(03:15):
hundred and eighteen thousand, two hundred voters in mayl Loone. Republicans, meanwhile,
have dropped one hundred and thirteen thousand, nine hundred voters.
Year to date, Republicans dropped fifty six thousand, four hundred
in May, so Democrats lost greater than two to one
(03:35):
the voters that Republicans did. By the way, MPa and
minor party affiliations off one hundred and twenty six thousand.
If you're wondering, hey, why so many of your voters
generally continue to clean voter roles in this awful election year.
This is a typical time of year where you get that.
And so the bottom line is Florida. Remember Republicans never
(03:56):
held a voter registration advantage in the state until November
of twenty twenty one. I means, I haven't been a
full four years yet, and Florida is now an R
plus ten state. Republicans now have a ten point advantage Okay,
nine point seven to be exact, but with a record
(04:16):
one point three million voter advantage now and Republicans their
advantage over Democrats rose by nearly sixty two thousand voters
in May alone also, and of course this was big
news when it hit Miami Dade no longer a blue
county had been the biggest not just the biggest county
(04:39):
in the state, but the biggest blue county once upon
a time. Now only eight of florida sixty seven counties
remained Democrat majority counties by way of voter registration. And
I mean, in the grand scheme of things, you could
see several more, including potentially Palm Beach County, flipping before
(05:00):
next year's election day. At these trends continue, all right.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
A couple of headlines on the state side here, House
and Senate budget negotiators have agreed to pay raises for
state employees, law enforcement officers, and firefighters. That's according to
the Senate Appropriations chair, who says they hope to close
out the remainder of unresolved issues later this week and
a vote could come early next week on a new
spending plan. July first begins the new fiscal year and
(05:24):
the defending Stanley Cup champs two wins away from repeating.
The Panthers leading the Cup Final two to one, entering
Game fours tonight Sunrise at eight pm. Brian
