Speaker 1 (00:00):
Huge day today in American history, the presidential debate with
Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. And at the same time,
there's something that is also huge for this country and
for our history going forward, if we are going to
retain some semblants of a country. It's flun under the radar,

(00:21):
but it was actually one of my top takeaways on Friday.
My third takeaway on Friday was that another measure that
should be passed is the US House proposed Save Act.
As I mentioned, the Act would mandate proof of citizenship
in order for voter registration. House Speaker Mike Johnson has
attached this which in this measure passed the House. Five

(00:44):
Democrats in the House did vote for it, although none
of Florida's Democrat congressional delegation. But Speaker Johnson has attached
this to a continuing funding resolution for the government entering
next year. And I mentioned that we should absolutely hold
the line on this. Someone who is prepared to do
so is Florida Senator Rick Scott, who joins us now.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Good morning, Senator.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I think Mike Johnson is doing the right thing. First
of all, none it's like a continued resolution, it's it's
foolish because what it's saying is that Congress didn't do
his job to pass a budget, so we should have
passed a budget. In my case, I believe we ought
to have passed a balanced budget, which I did as governor
every year as governor. But they didn't. You know, I'm

(01:29):
on budget committee in the Sendate. We didn't have meetings
on the budget because the leadership in the Senate don't
just want to pass the budget, they want to pass
spending bills. But Mike Johnson's doing the right thing. In
the House. There will be a vote this week on
a continued resolution which will include the Save Act, which
is pretty basic. Non citizens should not vote. Now. All
this is that to get to run through the vote,

(01:51):
you have to prove that your citizen in the United States.
How basic is that? But you know, when it passes
the House that by itself only I think four or
five Democrats voted for it, because Democrats is a group
they want nons instant to vote because they believe that's
the only way they can win an election.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
You know, Senator, what are the remarkable elements of this?
You point out that, you know, then there were five Democrats,
As I mentioned, none of Florida's delegation, which tells you
something about every Florida Democrat in the House of Representatives.
To your point, I mean, they're voting to enable those
who are unlawful in this country to vote. There's no
reason otherwise. But there are very few issues that are

(02:34):
high profile in this country where you get over eighty percent.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Of people on the same page. This is one of them.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
The Pew Research Center had a study going back earlier
this year, eighty two percent of Americans support voter ID
and proof of citizenship. Eighty two percent do the overwhelming
majority of Democrats do. Yet the Democrat party officials refuse
to do the wishes of even their party's constituents.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Because they don't believe they can win the election without it.
I mean, why they open the border because this is
the only way they think they could win the election.
They got to get illegals to vote for him, because
who votes. Who wants to vote for high inflation? Who
wants to vote for open border? Who wants to vote?
You look at all this stuff that the Democrats have
done and supported and voted for. The pably doesn't want

(03:22):
that stuff. That's why Harris is in No, I don't
really believe that stuff anymore. No, I wasn't the borders
are I'm not sure I ever met Joe Biden. I mean,
she doesn't believe any of that stuff, but she did.
And the way she says to the last person in
the room when he made the decision to leave Afghanistan
where we lost thirteen servicemen and women, I'm going, I'm

(03:44):
going to a ceremony for them today. So I mean,
this is this is disgusting. And then she she's all
wins for socialism, which is the oldest idea. It never works.
You know, I was flying the DC and it was yesterday,
and I was thinking, you know, you look out and
you see all the buildings and all this stuff, and
so if you think about that was built by ingenuity,

(04:07):
by people going and building businesses to pay the taxes
to build all this stuff in DC, it was not
built by government. It was built by people that went
out and built their businesses, built their homes, built their families.
That's what's built this country, not government. We've got to
stop this idea that government's going to solve all the
problems in this country. Government is the problem this country.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Right now, you know, sadly, Senator, I agree with you
on that point. Also, if the vice president denied having
met the president, I'm not sure that the President would
necessarily refute those claims. I'm not sure he would remember
actually having met the vice president. A couple things about
what you're talking about here, the foundational principles. What is

(04:52):
it that we can do give them that overwhelmingly.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
People support the Save Act.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
What is it that we might be able to do
to help you in the Senate get this done.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
All every First off, you know it has to passed
the House. Shit, so you know you have to call
every House member, Republican, Democrat, doesn't really matter and say, look,
I want to say that pass. This is the opportunity
for it to pass. We know we need to pass
the Continual Resolution at the end of the month to
keep the government funded. Now, unfortunately they're not going to

(05:23):
do the right thing in that regard from the stand
point of balance and the budget. But maybe you'll give
us the opportunity to do it. Still think Mike Johnson's
doing right. He said he's going to continue the resolution.
There will be a continued resil resolution through March of
next year, which will give the new president, the new
Congress the opportunity to actually do a budget. I mean
we could, if we had the right leadership in the

(05:44):
Senate and the House and the right president, we could
actually pass a budget. We could actually balance a budget,
just like every family has to do in this country.
So to call your House members, call your members and
tell them this is important to you, and you hope
they support it.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Your thoughts on tonight's presidential.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
De I'm going I'm gonna be I'm going to the
spin room to help the President Trump. And it's clear
the choices I need to tell people. The choice is clear.
If you like high inflation, hairsh is your person. Like
open borders hairshes your person. If you like crime all

(06:20):
across the country because manduro sensed you know his you
know a whole bunch of criminals here, Harish is your person.
But if you want a better economy, lower inflation, you
went a strong military, you want to close border. It's simple.
Trump did all those things. You know what he's going
to do. He did it before, so vote for him.

(06:41):
So I hope that's what comes out tonight. I'm sure
the mainstream media is going to say the Harris was unbelievable,
and I'm sure they wrote all their stories before they
she even got there. But I mean, I hope what
happens is the American public doesn't listen to the mainstream
media and says, you know what, I was better off
under Trump. I think I'll I'll vote for that guy.

(07:01):
It's pretty simple for.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
A senator, Rick Scott, thank you so much for the time.
Appreciate it, all right, boy, Yes we uh gear for
tonight's to pay. Of course we'll have it.
