We had a massive increase in LED's last year, resulting
in three hundred and forty two officers being shot one
hundred and sixty seven heroes lost in the line of duty,
eight in Florida. Improved rate of loss this year, but

still we've lost eighty heroes now in the line of duty,
seven in Florida, including having this horrible situation play out
in Miami Dade since the previous update, Fox's Channey.

Brutal attack when Deputy Devin Haramio was shot while responding
to a car crash around four in the afternoon. The
deputy can be seen in a video struggling with an
unidentified man on the ground when that man grabbed the
deputy's gun and then shot him in the neck. Deputies
did not release information on Batman, but it is believed

that he died from a self inflicted gunshot wound. A
second person was also reportedly taken into custody. Deputy Heramio
later died at the hospital.

In addition to that loss, in North Carolina, officer Roger
Smith murdered while working at the WakeMed Hospital emergency department
during an altercation somewhat similar to what Devin experienced. A
suspect fired on Roger, fatally wounding him. The suspects truck
with return fire, was apprehended by responding officers. He's been
charged with murder. And Indiana Corporal Blake Reynolds was struck

and killed by a commercial driver while assisting a disabled motorist.
And Army National Guard veteran, Blake has served by his
wife and as we reflect on those we've lost, please
remember the families of our fallen as well. The average
