This is a really big holiday season for you as
a as an athlete with FCC, but also with your family.
This is your tell me is this your first or
second Christmas in Cincinnati?
Speaker 4 (00:33):
This is my first Christmas in Cincinnati, thank you. Previously
we were in Miami, so it's my it's my not
the first time seeing snow, but it will be their
first time seeing some some Sorry.

Oh, I am dreaming we can get enough to go.

Yeah, I am dreaming of a white Christmas for you.

Also, if you uh, we have listeners of the show
here that know that I celebrate tiff Miss, which is
my version of celebrating the holidays in a city where
I also was new to at one point. So it's
about starting new traditions and creating new traditions.

So big holiday season outside of it being your first here,
you are not only the first athlete in SINCI for FCC,
but I also think you might be the first athlete
in the MLS to create your own clothing collaboration. DeAndre
yed Lanning collaboration with FCC. Talk to me about the clothes.
Talk to me about this. You're such a creative guy.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
Since since I've really been young, fashion has always been
a passion of mine, and you know, sometimes it's it's
tough to express that, especially when being an athlete is
your you know, that's your job, and you know that's
obviously my other passion. So I want to basically bring
to life kind of my first impressions of the city.
(01:58):
And you know, coming to Cincinnati, I didn't know a
lot about the city.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I'd been here before for national team game. I went to.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
School on Acron actually, so I've been in Ohio before.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah. Yeah, I went to University of Akron for two years,
so I knew about Ohio, but I didn't you know.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Obviously Cincinnati is different than Accurate. So the blue collar,
the hard work, the grittiness of the city. You know,
that's kind of what my first impression was.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
You know, everybody's quite a hard worker, and that's kind
of where you get like the work, where feel I
guess of the of the collection, the color, the brown,
like the matching jacket and pant, you know, you might
see on like a construction site or something like that.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
But then I also, you know, I was looking. It
took me forever to find the house here.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
And as I was looking and just looking at places
to rent, looking at places to buy, you know, a
lot were coming up in Indian Hills, and I saw
like the interior of them was like this super.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Like kind of what you think of.
Speaker 7 (03:08):
Like really old school luxury, so like you know, maroon
carpets and green rugs and like you know, all of
that sort of stuff.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
So and so that led to you creating this collaboration
where you can get to two or three pieces.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yeah, so there's three. There's three pieces in the line.
There's also a flannel on the flant.
Speaker 8 (03:30):
They were not a flannel, sorry, thermal and the thermal
was more I wanted to also make sure that there
was something that you know, somebody that might not be
into fashion could still get and be you know, excited
to wear.

discovered and learned about Cincinnati.

I know that can be a loaded question, but I
love asking him.

I For me, it's just how family friendly of a
city this is.
Speaker 7 (04:16):
You know.

I was like, I was pretty nervous coming here.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
I didn't know you know, again like I said anything
about the city, but just to see how like my
my my wife actually came up here before I did,
and she was like, you know, going around some neighborhoods,
She's like, there's kids running in the street on their bikes,
and there's you know, there's little kids you know at

the uds and and all that sort of thing.

You know, just like you think of it like a
like a movie. Yeah, yeah, you know, there's just kids everywhere.
And obviously for us having kids, it's great. You know.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
We we want our kids to feel comfortable, and you know,
we want to feel comfortable. So to be able to
be in a city that you know, cares about kids
so much has been has been incredible.
