(00:00):
It's women. We love celebrating spectacularwomen like w w E s star,
mother, philanthropist, author, wifeyand badass Becky Lynch. We're celebrating and
encouraging the vital role of women inAmerican history. Hi are you hey,
We're doing great. Thank you forcoming on with us. And congratulations.
Oh thank you so much. Thankyou for having me. Of course,

(00:24):
so uh trailblazer, big time Becksthe Irish last kicker here with us.
She's also the man. You couldsay she's the sliicckest chick from Limerick or
the great Dame of Dublin two.Take your pick either way. She's your
next WWE Women's Champion at WrestleMania forty, where she's putting the ill in Philly

(00:47):
and ripping up Ria. Born RebeccaQuinn, but beloved the world over as
Becky Lynch. Ha ha, thankyou, thank you for that introduction.
We have something in common, Becky. When I was also a young lassie.
I grew up with two sisters andthree brothers, but I was really
attracted to rough housing with my brothersso much so that I'm the youngest.

(01:12):
I would get in trouble and whenthey would get mad at me. They
would tie me up in a bigtree trunk. Oh no, yes,
scarred for life? What about you? My brother was actually quite nice.
He's just a sweetheart. Actually itwas me who at one point dropped kicked
him against against the wall when wewere playing on my mom's bed, and

(01:36):
it knocked him out for a fewseconds. And he said nothing. He
never read it on me. Thatwhat a great brother. That that is
love right there, That is thatis a bond. He's a legend.
He's a legend. Now you andSeth have your daughter, Route, is
Route exhibiting any kind of I don'tknow, affinity for wrestling? Yeah,

(01:57):
we've already taught her a few moodsbecause she loves she loves to what she
says, play wrestling on the bed, you know, and uh, and
she's got a mean leg drop andshe's got a mean DDT and that kid
has some charisma. So if sheever wants to become a wrestler, well,
she's the first person to have everhad a WrestleMania title match and won

(02:20):
that she was even born. Ohmy, wait, tell us about it.
Yeah, I was pregnant at WrestleManiathirty six. Didn't know about it.
Oh my god, so Rue actuallywon the match. Technically, technically
it ends up being a handicap match, so we should have been disqualified.
But I don't know that that counts. But still she she won a title

(02:43):
match where she was even born. That counts as in her DNA. It's
amazing. Well, tell us aboutyour book, The Man Not your Average
average Girl. Yeah, so,I'm very proud of it. It is
my biography chronicling my my journey fromjust very average average girl in Dublin growing

(03:05):
up to becoming the face of WWEand becoming the Man and winning the first
main event or winning the first women'smain event in WrestleMania history. Well,
you are such an inspiration, notonly to women but just to people.
I mean, young girls can cancan look up to you. I look
up to you. You know, you're you're inspiring so many and showing showing

(03:30):
women that you can do anything youset your mind to. Thank you so
much, Thank you so much. And we're getting to a point where where
women we're just we're constantly still onthe show in WWW, and that used
to not be a thing and nowit's just commonplace and it's great and that's
where I want. That's where we'reat, and that's where I wanted to
stay. Becky Lynch a game changer, and I think I feel from you

(03:53):
what what I feel myself, andthat is like International Women's Day roles around
and I just don't like the genderdivide at all, Like why do we
have a day? I would ratherthat we don't think of ourselves as men
and women. We're just You area professional wrestler, you know what I
mean. I know that you getin the ring with other women, but

(04:15):
you're a person and a wrestler anda pro. And so one day I'm
hoping that even though you are thefirst woman to do all these things,
that we don't have to bring upgender ever. And that is my goal.
That is what I've wanted to getto for a long time. And

(04:35):
we're getting there, like we're themain event regularly and nobody talks about it
anymore, and that's great. That'swhere I want to be because for a
long time I was like, oh, this is historical, this is historical,
this is historical, and I beganto eventually roll my eyes, was
like, yeah, but this ishow it should be. It shouldn't be
historical at this stage in the gamein twenty eighteen. We shouldn't be We

(04:58):
shouldn't be talking about being historical. It's twenty eighteen. I'm a woman,
I'm a person, I am astar in my own right. We don't
need to talk about it anymore, you know. Yeah, good for you,
Good for you. It's like mydaddy Dale used to say to me
when a boy would come pick meup at the house for a date.
And I would say, but dad, he's so nice, and my dad
would say, well, of course, that's a given, like he should

(05:21):
be, like he should be,like you're saying, Becky's this is the
way it should always be. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Tell me about
meeting Seth for the first time. Was it love at first sight? No?
Oh no, it wasn't love atfirst it was it was a connection.

(05:41):
There was an instant connection where Imet him. I was just an
extra on the show that day,and I came up, and he came
up and talked to me, andhe talked to me for forty five minutes
while he was, you know, busy that day, and and I felt
like this, this is somebody thatI've been friends with my entire life,

(06:05):
and that was that just happened rightaway. And we were friends for so
many years, and you know, like, I mean, he's gorgeous,
look at him. But but butI was always like, oh no,
no, that lad would break yourheart, you know, so I always
tried to stay away from him.And then we were both single at the

(06:26):
same time, and one thing ledto another, and then now it's like,
of course, of course, yeshe broke you, Becky. Well
it can never have been anybody else's. And he's amazing. He's my best
friend. He's the most incredible husband, he's the most incredible father, and
he's just the best. He's thebest. And you both have your hands

(06:48):
full at WrestleMania forty in Philly. You've got Rhea, big match, good
luck, and then your husband.Man, he's got Drew and then Rock
and Roman and all that stuff withCody. I can't wait. Wrestling's never
been more exciting, Becky. Thatis large part to you and your wonderful
husband. Thank you very much, thank you, and congrats on the new
book. Becky Lynch, the mannot your average average girl, that's for

(07:09):
sure. Thank you so much.Thank you,
