You've been taught to distrust the one thing that's been trying to protect you all along: your body.
Every time that stomach drops, every time your chest gets tight, every time your shoulders creep up to your ears - you've probably labeled it as anxiety, overthinking, or "being too sensitive." But here's what nobody tells you: your body speaks two completely different languages, and confusing them is what keeps you stuck second-guessing everything.
In this episode, I'm breaking down the physical geography of fear versus knowing. Not the spiritual woo-woo version - the actual sensations in your actual body that you can learn to read like a map. Because once you know where each one lives and what it's asking you to do, you stop abandoning yourself every time something feels hard.
I'm sharing the moment in my marriage when I genuinely couldn't tell if I was losing my mind or if my body was screaming truth at me. Spoiler: it was truth. But I'd spent so long being told I was "too much" that I talked myself out of it for years.
What We're Covering:
The Truth: Your body isn't broken. Your nervous system isn't overreacting. You've just been reading the signals wrong. Fear lives in your head and chest - frantic, spinning, desperate for relief. Knowing lives in your belly - calm, grounded, certain even when it's uncomfortable. One makes you want to act frantically. The other makes you want to pause deeply. Learn the difference and you'll never abandon yourself again.

Ruthie's Table 4
For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customersโwho have become friendsโto talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. โFoods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,โ says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarรณn, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafeโs open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
