Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Fison's Daily Morning Benz. Here's your host, Matt
Humans and West Reynolds.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
The Women's Final Four in Cleveland, and this is the
late game, primetime game Yukon and Iowa. It doesn't get
much better than this. Gino Orima and Page Buckets against
Caitlin Clark. The Hawkeyes are two and a half point
favorites as they try to return to the NCAA Championship
game where they lost to LSU a year ago.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, we know that obviously the general public is going
to be on Iowa here.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Of course with.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
What Caitlin Clark did to LSU, you know, the forty
plus points and twelve rebounds. But I think that this
is going to be this is the main event. I
think of the two games here. But if you look
at what Yukon did to USC, that was the first
game they covered really in the tournament. Aliah Edwards, you know,
wearing the facial mask, but obviously as a beast in

(00:55):
the paint. Nika Mule, the point guard for Connecticut, was
really good on g Jrew Watkins defensively in that game,
and she's probably gonna get the Clark assignment.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Look, Kaylee van Lyth.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Just could not guard Caitlin Clark and she got lit up,
you know, she did the you know, and I kind
of couldn't blame her. It's like, what is she going
to do? And Gaitlan Clark is making those long bombs
from three.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
But I actually lean Connecticut here.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I would want three certainly, and I think you'll be
able to get it tomorrow as vets come in.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
On Iowa, there is three of a couple books out
there now. She could get it tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
But the one concern for the Connecticut women, they're only
playing about six or seven. They have more players on
scholarship that are in tracksuits and sweatpants right now than
there are in uniform because they've had a couple of
starters that have been injured pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Much all season.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
So I do worry about the death a little bit
for Connecticut. But I look at this number, Matt, and
I think it's kind of low hanging fruit on the
Hawk guys. So I will gladly take Geno rim plus points.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Geno plus three. That's Wes Reynold's best bet on that one.
Yukon Iowa. How about nccate South Carolina? Last week, you're
in Indiana Hoosiers actually gave a South Carolina out run.
Do you think NC State can here catching eleven and
a half at DraftKings.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Well, they're certainly very well coached by Wes Moore, and
they beat Texas, by the way in the Elite eight,
upset a number one seed. So yeah, look, eleven and
a half. It does look a little bit high. And
I do think South Carolina is going to take the
action because everybody's heard about South Carolina odds on favorite
Don Staley her team on the revenge tour after they

(02:27):
bounced by Caitlin Clark in the National semi final on
this very night one year ago on Friday Night. So look,
in C State, really good rebounding team. In the last
twelve games, by the way, in the women's final four
dating back to twenty seventeen, only one has been won
by more than double digits.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
So I'd lean eleven and a half here.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Even though I think South Carolina, and I've been saying
I think they're going to win the whole thing, I
still do think they're going to win the whole thing.
But in C State, I'll trust Wes Miller, a very
good coach, to keep you close here.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
All right, let's go to the association, and then talked
about the Boston Celtics, who Clint's the best record in
the NBA and home court advantage, and now they are
home against the Sacramento Kings. DraftKings opener Boston nine and
a half total two twenty six.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, this would be Kings or passed for me.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I know, the King's lost in the Garden tonight to
the Knicks, and Nick's had a really good second half.
But Boston, like you mentioned, they have clinched. So it's like, Okay,
who's going to play for this team. I don't think
it's going to be like they're going to rest everybody
every game, but they're going to take turns here. You know,
one night Jalen Brown's going to be out, or one
night at Jason Tatum's going to be out. One night
they're gonna sit Horford and Drew Holliday, or they're gonna

(03:36):
sit por Zingitz or a combination of multiple of those players.
So yeah, it would only be Kings are pass here
for me. Kings obviously still competing to try to move
up in terms of their playoff seeding, so yeah, be
a little bit careful if you're laying these numbers with
the Celtics late in the season.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
That's actually good advice. Another pro tip from Wester Renolds Tony.
How about Golden State in Dallas back to for both teams.
Warriors just got the win in Houston and Dallas here
a five and a half point favorite, total two twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, team, both teams off back to backs here, Dallas
bet Atlanta. Golden State gets the win tonight in Houston,
so they do a Texas two step Thursday and Friday. Dallas,
like I mentioned earlier, now has gone twelve to one
with this starting lineup of Luka, Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Derek Jones,
Daniel Gafford, and PJ Washington. The latter two were acquired

(04:30):
via the trade deadline, so Dallas doing found something with
that lineup. The number probably is right here. This could
be maybe a rare like money line and parlay piece,
because I do think Dallas wins here.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
All right, let's go t Wolves and Suns. Phoenix opens
a four point favorite and a total of two to eighteen.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Well, Phoenix looked really good against Cleveland on Wednesday night,
as they blew them out from the get go. Minnesota,
still competing for that number one seed in the West,
goes down tonight by two at the Clippers. So now Minnesota,
I believe, as a half game lead in the standings,
at least in the lost column. So they're going to
take this seriously. But Phoenix, now they're in the top six.

(05:12):
They had fallen down to the play in this seven
and eight seeds, so now they're in the top six,
tied with the Pelicans, but they have the tiebreaker. Two
very motivated teams under the total of two twenty two nineteen.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
For me, Okay, I'm going to do one more NBA
game here because the Milwaukee Bucks have lost twice this
week as double digit favorites, and the Bucks are winning
sixteen and a half to a tanking Toronto Raptors team,
and Wes we talked about this last night. The Bucks
with Adriene Griffin as coach were thirty and thirteen. With
Doc Rivers in charge, they are fifteen and fifteen. Can

(05:47):
you trust the Bucks in this spot to blow out
the Raptors considering the Raptors seem to be packing it in? Yeah,
do you want to use the word tanking?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Boy, this is a tough call for me because obviously
the Raptors. It's easy to kind of pick the b
Owns on this team because there you know, they've got
a lot of guys that have either been sad out
or have been injured here, so you don't know who
is going to play. Scottie Barnes, you know, their star,
he's been out a while with the hand injury. Bruce
Brown questionable, Boggy questionable, Gary Trent Junior. These guys have

(06:18):
been starting games with the Raptors that did not start
the other night. I still want to see if Dame
Time is going to play. He's been out a couple
of games with that groin injury. But maybe this is
where Milwaukee lays them out. I don't think I'm going
to pay the price here in lay sixteen and a
half to find out.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
But I don't want the Raptors in this spot at all.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
No.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
I don't think there's many swats where you do want
the Raptors.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
No.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
All right. Marcus Stroman has started one game for the Yankees.
It's a good start. Six innings, four hits, no runs.
He struck out four. Now Stroman's going to make his
first start in the Bronx and the Yankees get their
home opener. After a really successful trip there, six and
one to open the season, Yankees come home and opened

(07:02):
on Friday with Stroman on the mound, gets the DraftKings
number on this game. Yankees are minus one sixty two
against the Toronto Blue Jays and Kakushi starting for Toronto.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Oh Man, strommen stro Do.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
You think Stroman's a good fit for Yankee stadium?

Speaker 1 (07:20):
I don't know, And that's that's the thing that we're.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
That we're looking at here, you know, because he did
make that good start, but that was down in Houston
and that was on the road. So this is his
first start in the stadium Friday afternoon. Going to be
a good crowd at is opening day for the Yankees
up there in the Bronx.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
So Kokuchi used to pitching pitching here.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
You know, he's really good with the breaking ball, and look,
the Yankees really struggled hitting that off speed stuff last year.
We'll see if they're going to fare any better. But
he's going to have to go a little bit deeper
here because the Blue the bullpen is kind of start
off slow for Toronto. But and I think Stroman is
good at keeping the ball on the ground. But first

(08:03):
start here, I would lean a little bit Blue Jays
here with Strowman, maybe a little bit of nerves making
his first start here. So Blue Jays, I'm seeing as
high as about a dollar forty three out there in
the market right now.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Well, with DraftKings of minus one sixty two on the Yankees,
I do think that number is a little bit too high.
I could not lay it. It would be dog or
pass to steal a line from Dave Towey.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yeah, absolutely, Look, and by the way, Toronto, of course
they don't have Matt Chapman anymore, but they did add
Justin Turner, which I think is eventually going to help
at the top of the order. But Kokuchi, Look, cold
could be cold in New York. It has been cold
in the East Coast in recent days and weeks, so
cold weather I think kind of helps these pitchers at

(08:50):
least a little bit early in the season. That's why
I usually like unders in those weather. But yeah, it'd
be kokuochie your pass for me in this matchup against stroman.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Total of eight and a half a drafting Blue Jays
Yankees game. All right, that's a look at the best
bets and top games on the Friday Card.
