Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Vison's Daily Morning Bets. Here's your host, Matt
Ewmans and West Reynolds.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
All right, Wes, we're going to go to the NBA.
We're are actually going to start with Luka Datchets and
the Mavericks. No triple double tonight for Luca and the
Mavericks are opening as six point favorites against the Heat
in Miami. That's DraftKings number six and two, sixteen and
a half for the total.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yeah, I'm thinking maybe that there's maybe there's injury here,
Maybe there's going to be anticipated rest for Miami. Miami,
by the way, did have to go double overtime tonight
as they do beat Atlanta one seventeen to one eleven,
So I think that that's probably a lot of it.
Jimmy Butler played forty four minutes, bam Adebayo played forty eight,

(00:44):
Tyler Hero played forty eight, So you know, is that
going to be a rest spot for the for the
Miami Heat. I think the market's kind of anticipating that
because I believe the true opener was like three and
a half when this first got put out there. Miami
right now is in the eight spot or a half
of one game in the win column behind Philadelphia. So

(01:05):
I think Miami probably knows they're going to be in
that seven to eight play in game.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
So I would anticipate rest tomorrow. And certainly the market
doesn't feel like the Miami Heat team of a year ago.
It's all capable of making a run in the East playoffs.
It's not like some game to game.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Like Jimmy Butler is starting to take it a little
bit more seriously though, you know what they call it,
playoff Jimmy, and now these are kind of ex official
playoff games late in the season. But yeah, there's times
he's like a no show in these games. Was not
tonight but Dallas. Dallas of course, trying to get that
four seed from the Clippers, but they are now two

(01:40):
games behind, all right, a.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Couple more games than the Association to hit. How about
the Tea Wolves and the Nuggets. Denver opening a five
and a half point favorite, and we saw Anthony Edwards
score fifty one tonight for Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, Minnesota beat Denver actually a couple of weeks ago
on the road, so very similar Denton. Denver, by the way,
they beat Utah tonight and covered at the number one
one eleven and ninety five, Utah shorthanded Murray with twenty eight,
Jokic with twenty eight. So you know, is this the
quote unquote show him whose boss game? Where Denver is

(02:16):
obviously the defending champion in Minnesota is kind of the
the Johnny new guy at the top, but Minnesota one
last time in Denver.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
So just eyeballing this.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Maybe look maybe an under here, because you might see
these are the top two teams in the West. Maybe
they'll take it a little bit more seriously, at least
on the defensive side of the ball. So lean under
two thirteen and a half, even though that's pretty low
total by NBA standards.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
All Right, the Phoenix Suns, who trailed thirty five to
four in the first quarter tonight, was Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal,
and Devin Booker all on the court. Phoenix is now
opening a two point favorite against the Clippers. These teams
are going back to back. The game is in LA
on Wednesday. I guess Kawhi Leonard's going to be out again.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I'm assuming so I could only maybe be on Phoenix
in the either Phoenix or the over in terms of
the quick turnaround here back to back.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Could you only be on Phoenix because the Sun's got
embarrassed on Tuesday night?

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah, look, you know perhaps, and then obviously you've got
to wait to see if Kawhi is going to be
in the lineup. What I would lean a little bit
more to even though you know, these two teams are
playing for playoff positioning. Very low scoring game tonight, so
maybe some positive shooting regression here.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Two twenty seven's.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
The high I think, based on the fact that they
scored one ninety seven, I would anticipate unless Kawhi is
ruled in that you're going to see that go to
the under. So you can wait and probably get a
better number if you like the over All.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Right, we don't do hockey a lot here, but we're
going to start doing hockey a little bit more now.
We're getting close to Stanley Cup playoffs. In the Vegas
Golden Knights, defending Cup champs, still got to secure a
playoff spot West Vegas on the road against the Edmonton
Oilers and Edmonton minus one twenty total of six.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, look, more than likely Vegas is going to get in.
There's three teams essentially for two spots. The LA Kings
have ninety three points, VGK with fort ninety two, Saint
Louis Blues with eighty seven, but they have one less
game to play. So you know, Vegas has leaked a
little oil though late in the season. Remember they did
beat the Canucks last week, and then they went to

(04:23):
Phoenix on Friday night up four to one and third
give up like three goals in about a minute and
five seconds and then they end up losing seven to
four and then losing Vancouver last night four to three.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
So it was a goalie when the Golden Knights blew
that lead, you.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Recall against the against the Coyotes.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah, I believe the lead, yeah, yeah, because they were up.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, they were up four to one on Friday night.
I believe it was Logan Thompson. Yeah, Logan Thompson was
in goal for the Vegas Golden Knights. So look, they've
had some injuries here and obviously throughout the season, so
you know, not as strong.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
As they were at the start.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
But look, with the Stanley Cup playoffs, all mis advantage
does not mean quite as much. You see a lot
of road teams win in these playoffs, so and and
and seeding don't mean much either. Remember in the Tampa
Bay Lightning were the best record hockey and they were
the one seed and they got beat by the Blue
Sweat by the Blue Jackets a couple of years ago.

(05:27):
So so that can happen here. So you just got
to get in it to win it. But right now V. G.
Gay would be the eight seed, and I believe they
would face the Dallas Stars, who got the best point
record in the West right now. So that's a very
small price on the on the Oilers here, they're the
two seed by the way in the Pacific, so they
would play Winnipeg in the first round as of today.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Seems like a cheap price of it, does It does?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
And man, I don't know if I want.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
To take that bait. All right, let's go to baseball.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Aaron Nola Lancelyn gohead to head Philly's car Cardinals in
Saint Louis. Lancelyn and underdog DraftKings opens the Phillies minus
one thirty five. I'll tell you what, Aaron Noah is
off to a poor start. He's had two starts for
the Phillies so far, a one eighty whip and a
five forty era. He's gone ten innings and allowed six
n runs in those two starts.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Now, maybe, and look, I usually don't like to do
this during day games because I especially if if two
teams are you know, if it's a getaway game or whatnot.
But I would lean a little bit maybe first five
over because you have two pitchers I think that are
kind of struggling. Lanceln's been okay in his return to
Saint Louis, but you know, not the not the pitcher

(06:39):
he was obviously many years ago. So Aaron Nola, I
want to I want to see him figure to figure
this out. It's just, you know, he hasn't been getting
a lot of whiffs. He hasn't been getting a lot
of a lot of miss bats. So I would lean
over in this game, and especially in the first five
with these two starters.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
All right, can you bet the Yankees here? And can
you bet them on the run line?

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Can you lay the one and a half Marcus Stroman
and the Yankees minus two twenty five total of eight
and a half. If you lay the one and a
half runs, you're gonna be about minus one ten one
oh five in that neighborhood. So Stroman often a pretty
good start for the Yankees in two starts twelve innings,
seven hits. Nowharned runs a whip of zero point eight three.

(07:23):
And obviously the Yankees are ten and two. They have
won an MLB high five one run games. We know
how miserable the Marlins are right now. I don't like
to play run lines. Was this one you would consider?

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Ah, probably you're going to play. You're going to play
the Yankees.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Maybe you played the under team total on the Marlins
just based on their hitting. Get away game day for both,
by the way, or game nine, I should say, as
the Marlins will go back home to take on the
Braves Friday, and the Yankees go to Cleveland. But this
is a day off, so I don't want to take the.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Marlins off the Yankees.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
I'm not I'm not laying I'm not laying the run
line here for Strom.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Twelve innings, seven hits with Okay, it's been okay, Yeah,
I mean.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Pretty good so far. I think he's going to get
hit at some point here. Uh.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
For but for a Marlins team that can't create much offense, uh,
that would be favorite or pass. We usually say dogger pass.
And I don't want anything to do with the dog
If

Speaker 3 (08:26):
You want to play the favorite, probably the best way
if you don't want to lay that as team total
under on the Marlins
