Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Veison's Daily Morning Benz. Here's your host, Matt
Eumans and West Reynolds.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Are you going to start on the west coast of
Padres Dodgers Michael King against Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Dodgers opened minus
one eighty five at DraftKings. Total is eight. Yoshinobu first
start in South Korea against the Padres, he gave up
five earned runs in one inning. I watched the game
I'll hate that night, and he was terrible in that game.

(00:30):
But he's settled down. He's looked more like the three
hundred and twenty five million dollar pitcher the Dodgers thought
they were signing in Yamamoto. So in the last ten
innings over two starts five innings each, he's allowed a
total of five hits, two walks, and no earned runs.
He struck out thirteen. So, Wes, I think you can

(00:50):
justify this price here, even though the Padres beat him
up the first time. You can justify this minus one
ninety price on the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I am you you're going to play Yamamoto here instead
of maybe laying that big money line. You'll still have
to lay at minus price. But I'd look at the
over strikeouts, which is at four and a half now.
He got over the number the last time against the Cardinals.
It was a rain delay a couple of weeks ago,
and they still send him back out there for an
extra inning. So over four and a half minus about

(01:19):
a dollar thirty on the strikeouts. Here is where i'd
go with Yama Moto.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Okay, interesting take on that. You like the player props,
don't you. That's where you think, well.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Mostly picture props too, because I'm still learning a lot
in the prop market, I'll readily admit, especially like on
the hitters, I think that's a little bit tougher, but
I think the pitcher props like the recorded outs, the
strikeouts especially. You can also do the walks if you
choose to do that. But yeah, that's why I like
to attack at least early in the season until I
get some more data on these guys.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
All right, let's go off the beaten path a little
bit for a couple more baseball games here. Let's talk
about the Royals and the Mets. Michael Wake against Luis
Saverino and the Mets minus won twenty five to eight
at City Field. The Mets are back from the dead.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, and look, all of a sudden, the Kansas City
Royals are starting to get some support at least in
the market, and they're currently second. The Guardians have started
out nine to three. But about the Royals today against
the Houston Astros. A ninth spot in the first inning
for the Kansas City Royals, and look, this is not
a team with like a ton of town. Bobby Witt,

(02:26):
by the way, went four or five. They signed Bobby
Witt to that big contract. He had two home runs today.
So now they go on the road to face the
Metropolitans the way I would maybe play the Royals here,
if not on the money line, maybe go against Luis
Severino under recorded outs. Now you're going to have to
lay a little bit of a price to do that.
I think it's seventeen and a half as we talk
about this overnight.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I don't disagree with that. I don't trust Severino yet.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Hasn't really been going deep in the games. He's two
and two to the under on this line so far
under seventeen and a half out. Royal's pretty good against
right handed pitching, at least so far this season. Number
nine in WRC plus that's weighted runs created by the way,
so been taking more pitches against Righty's getting those pitch

(03:10):
counts up and Severino. You know, the strikeouts have been good,
but he's going deep into counts. You know, it's not
a lot of one two threes or you know, one
to two counts and then you punch him out. A
lot of this is you know, two to two and
then two or three foul balls or three full counts
and then having to eventually do the strikeout. Well, that
pileser pitches up and leaves you with a very short outing.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
All right, good analysis, Sara. How about the Reds in
the White Sox and White Sox are a dreadful team
right now? Andrew Abbott gets to start for the Reds
minus one seventy five on the road total of nine
flexing the starter for the White Sox. Abbots started two
games so far west five, basically averaging five innings, two starts,
ten and a third four earned runs. Numbers are great,

(03:54):
but this is one of my favorite young pitchers. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I like Andrew Abbott too, just you know, keep his
control a little bit. He's got really good stuff and
can really strike you out. But you know, the Reds
have been inconsistent. Though they win one, then they lose one.
They're in a lot of high scoring games, especially at
home at the Great American Ballpark or Great American Small Park,
whatever you want to call it. A lot of balls

(04:18):
get hit out of that yard. So just looking at
this matt at least eyeballing, it would maybe look at
Andrew Abbott. I have not elected to play this as
if yet, but maybe you could look at Andrew Abbott
over his strikeouts did not go over last time, but
five and a half against a very poor White Sox team.
Market's obviously hitting the over here. This is as high

(04:40):
as now minus one, twenty five juice to the over
at nine.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
All right, let's talk some hockey. We did talk a
hockey game on this segment a couple of nights ago
with the Vegas Golden Knights West and they got pounded
in Edmonton by the Oilers. These games mean something here
for the nights down the stretch of the defending Stanley
Cup champs trying to make the playoff Offseer Minnesota at
Vegas Knights minus one seventy total of six.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, and there is now one spot left in the
Western Conference playoffs because the Kings get the win over
the Calgary Flames to nights. So the Kings are now
in two for one here in the Western Conference, and
that's the Vegas Golden Knights at ninety two points in
the Saint Louis Blues at eighty nine. Blues have played
one more game though, so they're gonna need a lot
of help here from VGK. Vegas Golden Knights do close

(05:28):
the season now at home. They did play their last
road game, so they got Minnesota, then they got Colorado
coming in here Sunday afternoon, Chicago next Tuesday, and then
Anaheim to finish the season next Thursday. So the Knights
are probably going to make the playoffs here. They just
you know, you'd like to get it done as quick
as possible, so would lean to them. Maybe on the

(05:49):
money line. I don't know if I want to lay
a dollar sixty with the struggling team, though, probably the
better play the under six minus one twenty. So just
one spot left to clinch in the West, and I
believe two left to clinch in the East. You got
five teams going for two spots, Detroit, the Islanders, Pittsburgh, Washington,
and Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Fifteen games on the NBA car for Friday night. DraftKings
has lines on only five of those games right now,
and most books very hesitant to put up these numbers
here the last couple of days of the regular season.
Wes any of the five games? Did you have a
close eye on here right now?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
With the numbers up, I kind of like Philadelphia in
the under against Orlando. Now wait for MBID to be confirmed,
Tyree s MAXI, by the way, is going to go.
Philadelphia has been has been red hot ever since EMBIID
has come back. Even though they're down in the seven,
could still maybe avoid that play in tournament if they
can win these games down the stretch. They're just one
game out of it, so would lean that Indiana and

(06:49):
Cleveland is another very interesting game tomorrow. Cleveland the four seed,
Indiana the six seeds. So look, you probably want to
avoid that draw in terms of having to play Boston
in the first round much rather in the second round.
Perhaps you'd much rather play maybe Milwaukee or New York,
who are the current two three spots. But you also
got to avoid that playing game in the Indiana just

(07:10):
one game ahead of Philadelphia right now, So I think
these games maybe could be a little bit more defensive
with all the playoff seeding. But the only thing I'll
play in that Calves game, I'll probably look Caris Lavert
over points. The former pacer always goes off against his former.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Team at DraftKings. Over nine numbers seventy six ers minus
seven against Orlando total in that game two eleven, and
Indiana Cleveland game has got the Calves minus three and
a total of two thirty three. All right, let's a
look at the top games on Friday.
