Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Veison's daily Morning Bets.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here's your hosts, Dave Ross and Will Hill.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Let's get to it with that coffee.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Two creamers, not that I have like individual creamers at home.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
I just put in some milk. So you're still putting
in the sugar.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Right, No, no sugar. We talked about this.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Let's make sure I'm just listen.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I just forget.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
So no sugar, just some cream sugar.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, no sugar, no sugar. Good.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
But by the way, America, don't Sugar's bad. It's the
worst thing you put in your body. I know I
still have Starburst at home.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Hypocrite. Let's get you ready in Major League Baseball, I
would disagree.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Worst thing you put in your I mean maybe worse
like food subs you put in your body.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, I've heard crack is bad. I've
heard it's terrible. Yeah, so we're not advocating that.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
We recommend it.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
We think sugar better.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Pro tip of the hour, don't do crack.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Hopefully you've watched New Jack City Kids. That should have
weaned you off like it did for me as a teenager.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yankees and Royals, and uh, I know this Yankee team
has been a bit of a surprise. Has it been
a surprise to you to start the season with this
red hot start?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
A little bit. I was worried about the pitching, you know,
I was high on them coming in. Then the Coal injury.
It's funny the Coal injury cap in the same day
Judge was going for an MRI. I was like, you
know what, I can't do with this team anymore. They're
gonna get my hopes up again, and not even get
my hopes up as an objective viewer, I can't trust
the health of Coal. Judge. I don't know, but I
did think the lineup will be much better, which it
is now that Judge is healthy and he hasn't even
done a ton. I mean, Judge Soto that that right,

(01:27):
there's a lot And I was killing Stan last week.
Stan's actually hit a few homers the last week he
was gonna hit thirty thirty five homers with Judge and Sodo.
I mean, that's the hell of a lineup throwing Rizzo
and the glabor Torres Volpe. He's gotten better, so they
can hit. It's not great pitching, but with all of
the injuries across baseball, with the pitchers like nobody's gonna
have great pitching anymore. It's just these guys dropped like five,
so maybe they're the typical here. It's not great pitching.

(01:49):
But no, again, nobody's got great pitching anymore with all
the injuries. So I'm surprised, But look twelve and three,
I'm not that surprised, and I do think we're probably
looking at a really good race between them and Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Agreed tomorrow and Nester Cortez is on the bump against
Logan Allen in Cleveland taking on the Guardians. You got
to lay a dollar thirty five with the Yanks. Is
that a bet you're willing to make on a Sunday morning?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yes, I think the Yanks get the sweep. I just
think they've got a much better line up, much deeper
than line up than Cleveland. They won those two games
on Saturday, can they till? The first game was close
and Cleveland actually got a bad call the night. But
I'll lay the price here with the Yanks. Cortez was
shaky his first two starts, but much better out last
time against Miami, so that's a reasonable price I think
to play with the Yanks.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Also, I know the only to play run lines on
home teams because obviously you have that one less at bad.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Obviously, with the Yankees.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Being that favorite, plus money on the run line at
plus a dollar four, does that intrigue you at all?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
They're not a big enough it's not a big enough
price where I feel like I have to get off
the one that I'm okay laying the one thirty five
or so. It's not a crazy price. Your head's in
the right place where hey, you get the ninth at bat,
and that makes sense. But I'll just I'll take my chance.
I want to wait on one run run. I don't
want to stay here, win the game four to three
and say, oh I got greedy with the one in half.
I'm okay with the minus one.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Thirty All right, lay it with the Yankees tomorrow in Cleveland.
Let's talk about the best team in New York, the
Mets hosting Kansas City. I try not to laugh.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
M yes, hold for laugh.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Mets plus it dout of five at home. Royals beat
him up pretty good to day. Got to lay one
twenty five with Kansas City. Look all seriousness, Kansas City
looks like they're legit Mets, you know, hanging in early seasons,
still under five hundred, but hanging around a little bit
to get off on the good foot after a terrible
start when they got swept at home by Milwaukee to
the Mets rebound here.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Do you like the Royals on the road?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I like the Royals. I'll probably go Royals first five
because I really want to play the pitcher. Reagan's is
one of the cy young favorites, one of the short
shots in the American League. Buto's going for the Mets.
I don't know much about him, but he has not that
much of a legacy when you're what the seventh or
a starter for the Mets is just my guess is
there's there's a reason I've seen a pitch a couple
of times. He has not been that impressive. So Royals

(03:54):
first five. I just I want to if this game
is three to three in the seventh, I don't really
like it as much. I'd rather just you know what,
if it's tied after five, I'll take my money back,
but I want to play the pitcher advantage here.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Also, I'll take Royles first five, and I have that
stricken from the record. Bryan Ortega betting against the mess.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
How about this. Royals up three two after five and
then you beat their brains out after that, We're we
got a.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Deal, will Castle ticket first five with the Royals, Mets
come back and get get a win against the Bullpen.
I like, I'm picking up what you're putting down, NBA.
Tomorrow we got there, or today get the magic against
the Bucks. Magic that land four and a half against
maybe the honest list Smucks. Do we like Orlando in
this spot at home?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
I like Orlando. I think I think it behooves Milwaukee,
even though it'll cost them the two seed. I think
they're better off losing because that would probably set up
a matchup where Milwaukee's the four and they play Orlando
again in the playoffs, and Milwaukee hosts Orlando because if
they win. If Milwaukee wins and they move up to
the two, you're probably looking at either Philly or Miami

(04:55):
in the first round. I'd rather take my chances with
Orlando again. You're punting on home court in the second round.
If you get there, you have to play Boston sooner.
But you have to play Boston anyway, and Orlando desperately
needs a game because if Orlando loses, they probably drop
to the eighth. So this is a huge game for Orlando.
I not only do I think Milwaukee needs it, I
think they're better off losing this game. I'll lay the
point to you with the magic.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, and plus I always like betting against Doc Rivers.
Never feels like a bad bet in my book. So
I'm with you on that one. Lay it with Orlando Tomorrow. Okay,
let's close out some of these bets in the Masters.
Scottie Sheffer's gonna have a one shot lead as we
begin play on a Sunday. But you're gonna attack this
thing a little bit differently. You and I are gonna
both look at for the final round what guys might shoot.
And I know everyone's gonna look at Eldrick at Tiger Woods.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
What are you playing with? Tiger Tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Got to give it at the current number. I texted
you earlier. It was minus one thirty five. It's minus
two hundred right now. A lot of people say, I
don't want to lay two to win one. You'll pay
the juice want to lose. I'm gona lay the minus
two hundred with Tiger. I still think it's a good
bet if he shoots power better and he beats me.
He beats me. It was ugly today. I don't see
why I wouldn't be ugly tomorrow. I just think it's
it's not even it's not even a golf handicap. It's

(06:01):
just a deterioration handicap where he's just he can't do
it physically anymore. I think playing twenty three holes on
Friday is really he's starting to have to have to
pay the check for that. That uh that he's paying
the price for that now. So it was ugly Saturday.
I think it'll be ugly Sunday. I'll lay the minus
two hundred and over on Tiger.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, I think you're right.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
I think that the toll of playing so and playing
really well, by the way, and those twenty three holes
to make the cut, it showed today.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
I don't know how it gets better tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
He even said, what's what's odd is because he's he
played some poor he's got to.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Go out early tomorrow. That's not good news either. So
he's like, we're gonna have a point, right, We're gonna
have a quick turn here.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
He said, We've got to get the body right, but
gonna do everything in my power to be there, But
I just don't know mentally if he's there and physically
and really if the body can even hold.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Up, you don't think will withdraw if if it's not
going out well early, which does concern me, where hey,
I'm six over, I'm gonna cash this then he bows out?
You don't think so.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
I don't think so, because I sensed a little bit.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
I'm sensing some personal pride of like, look, you know,
I don't want to say I'm a ceremonial golfer, But
I also don't want to be the guy that's coming
to Augusta the last two years and did finish even
though I made the cut the last two years.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
This is not a good look. He knows that.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
So I think if he can just somehow manage the pain,
even if he's playing terribly, he'd rather if he does.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
If he go shoots what he did today, What if
he's twenty What if he shoots twenty over?

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Oh god, oh god, just it would be amazing. I
think that he made the cut.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
At one over and could finish up twenty over, I
mean that is amazing. I don't think that's gonna happen.
I don't think he's gonna shoot an eighty. I think
he probably shoot around seventy five tomorrow, somewhere in that vicinity.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
But I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
I think I like the bet, but I don't think
he's going to w D. I don't think he's gonna withdraw.
There's a better chance of Scotti, schefferd wd's than Tiger
Sunday Rad right, Brian's right, he's got new T shirts.
He's got to get out their new shirts. I don't
like the new shirts, by the way. By the way,
I love the prop you told me. During the break,
Cam Smith, we talked a little bit about some of

(07:53):
these guys that can kind of play a little bit
freewheeling and loose and go out there and shoot a number.
Cam Smith at money under seventy one and a half.
Oh you bet you cuz he shot one hundred today
and he missed everything.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Hank gonna miss everything tomorrow. So I loved the.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Camp Smith price tech because Cam's one of those weird
guys that even like like he did when he ran
down Rory to win the Open Championship a couple years ago,
When people don't think he's in contention, he thinks he's
in contention. I would be stunned if there isn't a
six for the first number on his scorecard tomorrow, and
I'll be honest with you, will he's got the capabilities

(08:33):
to go shoot a sixty five, So you're getting a
seventy one and a half with good pin placements tomorrow,
which is the traditional Sunday pin placements, especially in the
back nine where Augusta wants to make it accessible for
guys to go low and make this thing exciting. Cam
Smith's gonna make an exciting baby. I think it's a
great play under seventy one and a half and you're

(08:54):
gonna go over tigers seventy two and a half and
lay that juice. I think that's a good play as well,
as much as I hate it. And if he shoots
sixty five tomorrow, I say that I never said it,
and you said it, but I think it's a really
smart player on your party.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
We should have mentioned this, and I looked at it earlier,
and I'm assuming the weather's still good for tomorrow. We
should have mentioned that.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
The best best to the forecast. Okay, absolutely so, lady.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Sonny, perfect just picturesque, right, Okay, flag hunting, baby, let's go.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
That's what it's going to be tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
So it killed everybody Friday. Man, it was. It was
very tee time dependent Friday because the guys that got
off early and it was a break for Tiger. I've
got a break, and the guys hadn't played later.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
It's just absolutely by the way.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
I don't mind that it played hard this week and
we didn't see twenty hundred.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I kind of like it. I don't know what movie
is from that.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
They say the hard is what makes it good.
