Speaker 2 (00:31):
Is leaky get a real thing or is it just
a social media buzzword? Well, welcome to Accelerated Health of
Sara Banta, where we cut through the noise and fast
track your journey to better health. I'm your host, CEO
and founder of Accelerated Health Products and certified by the
National Association of Nutritional Professionals. Here to share the latest
(00:51):
on supplements, wellness hacks, natural health solutions that actually work,
and those that don't, from boosting energy to detoxing to
your leaky gut and everything in between. So let's dive in.
I had to talk about this. These things drive me nuts.
A recent article by doctor Leman questioned the idea that
(01:14):
leaki get syndrome is more just a social media but
buzzword and not a real condition. Tell that to me.
Twenty years ago, when I was bloated, constipated at me,
could not digest food, and the gi doctors put tubes
down me, up me, around me, and said, oh, just
take some meta musil. That didn't work. Why because our
(01:38):
world is different and they are ignoring the reality. So
what is leaky gut? Well, she acknowledges that gut permeability,
when the intestine barriers become leaky and things get into
the bloodstream through the intestinal wall, is real and measurable,
(02:00):
but she argues that it's a temporary phenomenon and not
a disease itself. So she says it can occur after
intense exercise, alcohol consumption stress. Yes, she's right on that,
but these changes resolve quickly. Well, that might be the
case fifty years ago, when we're not in this toxic
(02:24):
soup that we are now. She also notes that certain
digestive conditions like celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease or IBD
or IBS can cause leaky gut, but that the permeability
itself doesn't cause disease. It simply reflects the underlying inflammation
or infection. She also says there's no reliable test for
(02:47):
leaky gut and warns against supplements marketed to treat it. Okay,
I'm here behind my business for the purpose of the
fact that I had to heal myself from my rock bottom.
That all stemmed in the gut. And if you don't
have a good gut, you don't have a good brain,
(03:09):
you don't have a good liver, you don't have a
good thyroid, you don't have good adrenals. Everything's connected to
the gut. You don't have a good immune system. So,
while her article is right that gut permeability is a
measurable biological process and not an official medical diagnosis, her
conclusion misses the larger picture. Gut permeability is not merely
(03:34):
a side effect of stress or exercise. It's a reflection
of systemic dysfunction in the gut, liver immune axis. So
the idea that leaky gut resolves itself within a few hours,
that's fine if you then are in a box away
from another meal or another stressor or air that you're
(03:59):
breathing that's toxic, or water that's got some fluoride in it,
or you're drinking out of a plastic avon bottle, or
you're drinking out of a something with glass that has
microplastics on the lid. We're in twenty twenty five. We
are constantly getting hit with threats. So every moment our
(04:22):
body tries to heal its leaky gut, something else comes in.
That's why I've had Kiaren Krishnan on multiple times to
drive this home. So make sure you go back and
listen to those podcasts because he explains that through supplementation
you can give your gut more resilience. That's what we want.
(04:44):
But we've got chronics exposure, modern toxins, glycy sate, pesticides,
heavy metals, plastics, the processed foods, the artificial sweeteners that
have no calories that are making us fat because our
leaky gut is not allow allowing us to absorb nutrients,
and our soils don't have the nutrients they once had,
(05:05):
so we are malnourished or trying to overeat to get
food and to feel good. Right, your body's seeking energy,
but how does it get energy if there's no nutrients
in your food and your leaky gut is causing an
inability to absorb the little nutrients that are in the food. Now,
(05:25):
that's assuming you're eating real food and not the ultra
processed foods, which account for seventy percent of the American diet.
The gut barrier isn't just one thin layer celves. It's
a complex ecosystem involving mucus, immune tissues, tight junction proteins
in the microbiome. It was just talking to a friend
(05:46):
this week. She's like, I need lymphatic drainage because of
the stress of this week. I'm constipated. Your lymphatic system
is intertwined with your gut and with constipation and stress
in the ability to improve your immune system and your
absorption of nutrients. It's all intertwined. And if you don't
(06:09):
think that stress is killing your gut and killing your
thyroid and affecting your brain and your liver, you're crazy.
It's all intertwined. So while mainstream medicine sees gut permeability
as a symptom, holistic and functional medicine views it as
(06:29):
an early warning sign of deeper metabolic and immune dysfunction.
And this is the problem. In her article, she talks about, oh,
just eat more beans and whole grains and vegetables. That
sounds great, but the problem is is many of these
healthy foods have anti nutrients that actually cause leaky gut.
(06:51):
Have you ever had a green drink and you're bloated
or even like feeling puffy, Like I've even had a
really simple lemon juice drink and my fingers get swollen
because the acid is too much for my body, because
my body's already in an acidic state. So you have
(07:12):
to take into account what is your current state of health.
You've got oxalates. Oxalates are sharp crystalline compounds found in spinach, almonds, almond, milk, almond, butter, almond, almond, almond,
everything that people are trying to substitute for that gluten
you're using almond instead, beets, sweet potatoes, many of the
(07:33):
leafy grooms, greens. They can accumulate and your tissues, your kidneys,
your joints, your thyroids, slow down your thyroid and your gut.
They cause intestinal irritation, bind two essential minerals like calcium
and magnesium, and those are needed for your gut. You've
got the lectans. They're found in beans, lentils, grains like wheat, barley,
(07:54):
and oats. They might be binding to gut lining, triggering
autoimmune responsors microscopic inflammation That gut disrupt the tight junctions
between the intestinal cells and directly increase gut permeability, and
that is leaky gut. Then you've got the sulfur and
(08:14):
the fod map compounds. Think about your cruciferous vegetables, that
healthy broccoli, califlower, cabbage, the garlic onions. They're often promoted
as detox foods, but they're high sulfur and fommat compounds
can worsen bloating, gas, leaky gut, brain, fog, so many
(08:35):
other issues. They back up the liver. The liver can't detox.
Then you get this compounding effect of oh, more heavy
metals my body can't take in and metabolize and get
rid of, and more microplastics and more of this and
this and this, and your liver says I can't do
it anymore, all because you're making it harder with these
(08:58):
healthy foods called sulfur foods. Right. Then you've got gluten
and modern grains. People say all the time, I can
eat gluten in Europe and not in the United States. Well,
modern wheat and other hybridized grains are higher in gluten
and glyphosate residues than ever before. Inflammatory, they compromise tight junctions,
(09:21):
They contribute to leaky gut. So the high fiber could
actually backfire, and then you've got the liver gut connection.
Her piece leaves out this crucial organ, the liver. It's
all about the livery. Guys. If your liver's backed up,
you're going to get bloated. You're not processing your fat,
you're not metabolizing it, you're not using it as energy.
(09:42):
You're not able to break down your proteins that are
healthy and put them into your muscles and your brain
and your tissues and your hair and your thyroid. This
then leads to recirculation of toxins, inflammation, and worsening leaky gut.
So I'm going to talk about some supplements that make
your system more resilient that I take daily, and I
(10:05):
don't know where i'd be without them. I used to
walk around feeling like I was seven months pregnant and
eating not enough food that made sense for that to happen.
And now my stomach can be flat. It can be flat,
and it can be bloated if I don't take care
of it right. But the goal is to make it resilient.
So even when I take in glycasate or these toxins
(10:29):
that I don't want to get into my system, I'm
going out to a restaurant tonight. I don't know what
they're putting in their food. I'm not in control. We
have to live real life in this decade, so we
have to make our gut more resilient. And when your
gut's more resilient, your brain works better, your thyroid and
metabolism work better, and you have more energy. You actually
(10:52):
can extract energy from that food you're eating. So Number one,
accelerated liver care. This is a no brainer for me.
I take it out actually twice a day because my
liver has gone through the ringer and it needs that
extra dose and that extra help. And I do my
accelerated liver flush cleanse every six to eight weeks, which
(11:12):
you might think is a lot, but with the spike
protein after pandemic years and everything that we're under, I
feel the best when I do it that often, and
it's easy now super easy. But the Accelerated Liver Care
is thirteen very strategic herbs. Ones that you've heard of, milk, thistlemtaka,
(11:34):
they're amazing, but I put in there ones that you haven't,
like Palpereira. It's got studies for cirrhosis and even liver cancer,
Bluplayer I'm Philanthus, and some others that you've heard of
and may not have heard of. But they improve your
immune system, They detox and restore your liver health. They
help with fatty liver disease. And if you don't think
(11:56):
your leaky gut is also triggering more fatty liver disease,
which over fifty percent of you have, you're kidding yourself.
They're related. But the accelerated liver care reduces inflammation along
the gut, liver access, improves the bile flow to get
the junk out. You'll see things in the toilet and
(12:16):
feels so much better when you do. With the accelerated
liver care. It strengthens the mucosal barrier to help with
detoxification and helps with that immune system. And then you
want to bind the toxins, the ones that drive that
gut permeability, that leaky gut, and that's where the accelerated
liver care comes in. I'm sorry. The accelerated cellular detox powder.
(12:40):
It is the backup to the accelerated liver care. So
the liver care kicks things out and the cellular detox
powder soaks it up and gets it out of your
system really quick, so it's not recycling. It helps with
balancing that constipation diarrhea cycle you might be in. It
reduces in inflation, binds to the heavy metals, micotoxins, pesticides, microplastics,
(13:05):
helps with gas floating all the things, and helps protect
the gut lining. Then you want to focus on making
the gut microbiome resilient. Probiotics can backfire because you could
be dumping in a whole bunch of just a few
things that might not be the right buggers that you
(13:26):
want in there. So that's where spore based probiotics come in.
Megaspore is that it goes down in there. It says, oh,
you need more of this and that and this, but
not of this, and it might be different for me.
So it's going to give me something different than you,
and it's going to learn what you need and make
(13:48):
that gut more resilient. Okay, But then you want to
strengthen it with the megapre and the mega mucosa. So
the megaspore, megapreamega mucosa are all in the accelerated leaki
gut bundle, but the megapre provides the prebiotic fibers to
feed the megaspore biotics. And then you've got the mega
(14:11):
mucosa to seal the gut lining and help heal that
leaki gut and make you more resilient. Love these together,
but then you need butyrate. So we've talked about prebiotics.
That's the megapre. We've got talked about probiotics, which is
the megaspore creating the probiotics down in your gut. Now
(14:32):
we're talking about post biotics. Butyrate. This is the unsung hero,
so most people have never heard of it. Butyrate is
a short chain fatty acid that serves as the primary
energy source for colon cells. It also helps with GLP
one production in your gut, and I know you've heard
of that. So tributerin X is my favorite. It helps
(14:56):
with the tight junction repair between the intestinal cells. Reduce
is the inflammation, helps with insulin sensitivity, brain clarity, all
the things. So fiber is not enough. You can't just
eat the fiber that she's talking about in this article.
You want to use the supplements to increase resilience. Fill
(15:18):
in your diet with wild animal protein. The bison elk
venison super easy to get. I love Force of Nature
dot com as my source. It just showed up yesterday
a nice box full of meat, so my son can
eat something for lunch and I can eat something different
out of the freezer. Makes shopping super easy and it's
not expensive. But focusing on that wild animal protein, focusing
(15:44):
on the fruits and the vegetables. According to the Accelerated
Food Guide, the link is below. It lays out what
vegetables are not oxalate selectins full of mold and sulfur,
and there's lots to choose from. You're not on a
restrictive diet, but first things first, try to get rid
(16:04):
of the ultra process foods that's killing your gut, so
that is number one. Then removing any other toxins you
know about real rebuilding the gut, and then also cleansing
the liver and detoxing at the same time. So that
is my approach. And I've never felt better in my tummy,
(16:25):
which affixed my brain and my energy and my workouts
and everything leads to the gut. Thanks for tuning in today.
I hope you got some inspiration to take the next step.
