Speaker 2 (00:26):
Robnie Kibb Now with Koreos the podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
It's Robie Kipp Now with Coreo. It's on demand the
podcast coming up at halftime in the podcast, We've got
a little bit and didn't get to her today when
we called our mums for Mother's Day.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, we called Sylvia because you just did them most
So Sylvia wrote a poem for Mother's Day that she
sent to Kip so that he could then possibly send
it back.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
So he wrings her and owns it.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
And of course that's back a massive conversation about who's
the favorite child because clearly it can't be him.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
It can't be Kenneth. Well we'll find out. And halfway.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Roos the podcast.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
Give Me.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
With Robin, Kip and Coriots.

Speaker 6 (01:19):
This is Confessions for Cash p I.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Dave's in the studio with us.

Speaker 7 (01:27):
Welcome mate, Good morning guys.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
We had a mission for you.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
We spoke to Isaiah who has a daughter that he's
never met and per chance he walked past her in
the shopping center because he remembers his ex. They had
an agreement that they were never going to speak again,
see each other again. He was going to have nothing
to do with his daughter's life, and I guess seeing
her in the shops has changed his mind on it.
So he had no idea if he could find this

(01:54):
ex partner of his.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
And so yesterday we put you guys on together and
sent you off.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Have you found anything and if so, what?

Speaker 7 (02:03):
We definitely found exactly what we needed to. So we've
got the information that Oziah wants, so we'll be happy
to give that to him.

Speaker 8 (02:12):
Is it that easy to find hmself like that?

Speaker 9 (02:14):
Not?

Speaker 7 (02:14):
Usually some obviously harder than the others, but this one
wasn't very hard at all.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Put it this way, I.

Speaker 7 (02:19):
Won't be getting Investigator of the Year. It was pretty easy.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Well, let's get a zire up from Logan. Hey, Isiah morning. Yes,
so we promised you that we would get p I
Dave on the case, and he has done that.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
How do you feel about that?

Speaker 9 (02:39):
I didn't think it was going to be hard for
a man hearing his track record with you guys. I'm scared.
I'm absolutely scared, prapless. I don't know what to do.
Like I said, we made that promise not to contact
each other but I'm sort of breaking that promises. There's

(03:02):
not something I wanted to do. Twelve thirteen years is
a long time, as you guys said, and has changed,
and I sort of hope there is that chance.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
What information have you actually got, p I Dave, So yeah,
we've got everything.

Speaker 7 (03:17):
Yeah, I'm happy to give a phone number in this regard,
and if he wants to make contact via text for
a phone call, whatever he thinks is the best option.
Just given these circumstances, I really think this is probably
the best and safest option for everyone, rather than giving
an address or anything like that.

Speaker 10 (03:36):
Oh yeah, yeah, And I think for Isaiah it's more
do you reach out and ask that question or you're
better off just leaving it how it is.

Speaker 8 (03:45):
You know, And that's a hard one to answer.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
But is that where you're sitting? Is that where your
mind's at? Isaiah?

Speaker 9 (03:50):
Yeah, I was only ever going to ask for the
phone number we spoke, and it was not going to
answer more just the phone that would be the safest
way to make that contact. I'm probably going to sit
on it for a couple of days and over the
weekend and sort of just see what to do with it.
I I loved. You need to speak to someone about

(04:12):
it to see what the best decision is, because I
my head's just really all over the place with it
at the moment.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
You can't have got this far and not really and surely.

Speaker 9 (04:23):
I don't know how her reaction is going to be
because it was a lifetime promise and the type of
admiral woman she is, and you know she was an
amazing woman when I knew her, and I know she
was going to be an amazing mother and everything else
like that. I just don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
The question you're really asking her is if you're saying, hey,
I've I've had to change your heart, but have you Yeah?
Until she knows that you're interested, then you'll never know.

Speaker 9 (04:51):
No. No, I know that. One of my things my
dad always said is if you can expect the answer no,
then there shouldn't be scared to ask the question. So
I'm going to my dad's words, I think, and I
may just a phone call them just see what she says,
or even just a text messag.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
First, Isaiah, you have the information you originally told this
because you've not told another soul, and now we've provided
you with the information to get a definitive answer.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
But you said, mate, you wanted a couple of days
to think about it. Don't let us pressure.

Speaker 9 (05:27):
It's more finding the courage and finding the words put
in a message.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 10 (05:34):
Also talk to the people closer too, like they know
your best trust me, family, friends, your therapist.

Speaker 8 (05:41):
They're always they're in your best interests.

Speaker 10 (05:43):
So if you're always unsure, you've got to ask someone
and you've got to make sure it's going to be
the right one.

Speaker 9 (05:48):
So I have your fin number.

Speaker 8 (05:50):
Course, the reason I.

Speaker 10 (05:53):
Am the way I am is I see my own
I see, I'll get it for you.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Thank you, os Troce Investigations. If you ever need someone's help,
p I. David is the King, Thank you, Isiah.

Speaker 9 (06:08):
Thank you everyone appreciate everything.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Good luck mate.

Speaker 9 (06:11):
Thanks guys.

Speaker 8 (06:14):
Now with the podcast.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Coorious position is microphone at the other end of the studio.
Be brave, Be brave. Corey says, I've got your back, Yes,
you're back. I'm going to back you.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Let me let me just preface this conversation was this
morning before we came on air. These guys were just
carrying on about Mother's Day and so the team have said,
go on, then say it out into the real world.
Say it to Brisbane and see if anyone supports you.
Thirteen one oh six y five. If the words coming
out of these two mounds, it's something you agree with.

Speaker 11 (06:55):
Okay, well all, I just I just wanted to ask
the question is is there like a limit or like
not a limit, but is there like.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
How far do you go here?

Speaker 8 (07:06):
With Mother's Day?

Speaker 3 (07:07):
It's gotten out of control.

Speaker 10 (07:08):
Like you know, birthdays, Valentine's Day, Christmas.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (07:16):
I feel like there's it's got to be a budget.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
That should be because didn't it used to be about
breakfast in bed and some flowers, and all of a
sudden it's turned into like the end of sale of
the century where you've got a prize pool. Everything's coming out.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
Do you want a holiday?

Speaker 8 (07:30):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
There's some new shade.

Speaker 10 (07:34):
It's everything neck places and rings and bracelets and all
this other stuff.

Speaker 8 (07:41):
I thought flowers was like the going thing these.

Speaker 10 (07:43):
Days, okay, and just a bit of love and some
cuteness from your kids and yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Aren't they the gift?

Speaker 8 (07:52):
Like that's the kids which we helped provide.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
No, the kids are if you sort them, you can't
just like, no, you have to actually be actively involved.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
But don't you think it's getting out of control?

Speaker 4 (08:05):
No, I don't, But you don't have You're.

Speaker 8 (08:08):
Not the one, you're the one receiving.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Of course.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah, this is a very small serving for you to,
of course agreed.

Speaker 10 (08:17):
With with the old jocks and socks that oh that
was equivalent flowers jocks and socks and flowers.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Sure, I mean, what what what's going on here? You've
been required to.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I feel like there's something else going on behind the
scenes that I don't underan.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
For me, it's it's Naomi's first Mother's Day and so
I mean apparently.

Speaker 8 (08:40):
It's like it's jewelry.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Okay, well, sure, I.

Speaker 10 (08:46):
Mean I shocked last night, Dean goes, so what did
you get?

Speaker 11 (08:52):
Excuse me, because she wants a prize pool. She just
wants something for myself, the normal stuff.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Okay, Well, I don't understand if you have the capacity, right,
and a lot of people don't. So therefore let's work
within the budgets that we're dealing with. Yes, if you
have the capacity and you can make someone else feel better,
what is the problem.

Speaker 8 (09:16):
It's not like it's it's not an expensive thing, it's.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Just more I can't be bothered?

Speaker 12 (09:21):
Is that it?

Speaker 8 (09:23):
I thought?

Speaker 10 (09:24):
Just flowers and some cut cars from the kids and
stuff like that, and presents from the kids.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Is what the presents for the kids?

Speaker 10 (09:32):
No? From the kids?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Okay? And have you bought them?

Speaker 13 (09:35):
No?

Speaker 10 (09:35):
They made them at school and bought them.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Okay. So you want no active involvement the cards.

Speaker 8 (09:42):
In this, Yes, and I'll give it in the flowers.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Yeah, it should be enough.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Well what a giveaway?

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Thirty one six five? If anyone is brave enough to
stand with us, what do you say? I'm saying it's
gotten out of control. I'm saying it should flowers should
be all we have to shout flowers, cards, breakfast.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Again to be per First Mother's Day?

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Okay, it's going to have hundreds?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yes, as you shall continue.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
I mean, how many children are you.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Expect next year? There's another Mother's Day?

Speaker 8 (10:16):
They keep coming around?

Speaker 5 (10:17):
How many?

Speaker 8 (10:17):
How many gifts you've got to give?

Speaker 4 (10:19):
As many is required? But happy life?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Why do I have to make someone else happy for
me to be happy?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Because not everything you do has to be self serving.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
I know you haven't worked that out yet.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I know that is your.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Greatest life lesson.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Yes, can we start now can we swivel back towards
Corey on this we started, I'm standing behind him.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Way, I'm not.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
Dumb, and I just figured this is your first.

Speaker 9 (10:52):
Five.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
If we've touched a nerve or maybe you want to
stand behind us as.

Speaker 8 (10:57):
Well, let's go.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Goodness me they need now podcast.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
We've been talking about Mother's Day and how I think
he's gotten out of control. I will say, my mate
up the road, Charlie. Charlie did what a lot of
dad's doing. He forgot on the fhone. He didn't realize
that the first Mother's Day is a very important one
and he didn't get anything for Hannah, and so he
has made up for it this year. But unfortunately he
screwed up because he got a Soak bath House appointment.

(11:32):
But put it in their joint diary.

Speaker 8 (11:35):
Oh so so as I.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Say, when it comes to Mother's Day, work with in capacity.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
So I mean, it's a great gift, but she knows
that it's coming on Sunday.

Speaker 10 (11:45):
I would do that.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Yeah, I love soap bath we do.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
And if you've forgotten, don't panic. Soak bath House, We'll
look after you. If it's not too late to make
her feel special. Head to soakbath house dot com dot auf.
You've forgotten what's happening on Sunday now.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Christine of Capelaba has a great gift idea for you, Kip.
I love this and I did this as well. What
is it Christine?

Speaker 6 (12:06):
Hi guys, good morning Kip Whiteman on you today. I
do have a slight reprieve for you. Yes, the idea
involved a beautiful daughter, Sienna. How about you get some
paint and paint her hands and put a print on

(12:27):
a card and put happy first Mother's Day on it.
Put you next to nothing and it'll be something for
treasure for the rest of her life.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
That is a great idea. Actually, that's lovely.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Do you know what, Christine.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I did that for each of my boys for Father's
Day and it was on a cardboard and it was
for their first Father's Day. And now those cards are
in frame really yes, okay, and I kept them and
they're so beautiful and I have photos of each of
my children completely covered in paint.

Speaker 12 (12:58):
It's something that you can never get back again.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
That's true.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
That's a great idea. It's well done.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Thanks Christy, appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Doesn't mean you'll do it because then you'll have.

Speaker 12 (13:06):
To work.

Speaker 8 (13:09):
Look at enough. Yes, you should, Clay, make it out
of Clay.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
My goodness, what did you say?

Speaker 10 (13:16):
Make him do a little bit more? Worse?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
She can't.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
She can't make you doing you do?

Speaker 8 (13:22):
It's that you do it?

Speaker 4 (13:24):
SHD, that's cute.

Speaker 10 (13:27):
You're already.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Rob Now with.

Speaker 8 (13:32):
Choreos the podcast.

Speaker 12 (13:37):
With Robin, Kip and Courier.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
It's your weekly Joseph.

Speaker 8 (13:45):
Hey, Brizzy, Corea and how good are public Holidays?

Speaker 10 (13:48):
It was a short week this week, but we still
started it right away by getting your male thoughts.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Thoughts from the.

Speaker 8 (13:55):
Right on Mama core.

Speaker 9 (13:59):
Can you cry underwater?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Okay? Which one of us do you think can answer
that question?

Speaker 13 (14:03):
Do you know?

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Robin?

Speaker 8 (14:04):
You can't?

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Did you try it?

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Because one of the things I do when I'm really upset.

Speaker 8 (14:09):
Is I swim.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
I have thought of you.

Speaker 8 (14:10):
One head up to breathe.

Speaker 10 (14:16):
The Magic Ground was over the long weekend and Ezra
Man went to support the Broncos, and I was not
happy about the crowd's reaction to seeing Ezra on the
big screen.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
That's a lot of bolling.

Speaker 10 (14:26):
Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone at that game when they booted,
everyone's pretty much saying to me that they've never made
a mistake and they don't think he deserves a second chance.
I just really hope he comes out and shows people
that he is sorry.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
This is just my opinion, and now I feel in
the situation Allison wants to take you up on it.

Speaker 12 (14:43):
I'm sick of hearing poor Ezra. He made an entitled
decision to be under the influence and then drive. If
you don't want your face up and you don't want
people to boot because they're upset with you, don't go
to the game.

Speaker 8 (14:54):
He's being confident.

Speaker 10 (14:54):
He's been facing everything.

Speaker 12 (14:56):
What he means, he's been doing everything. He's just been
getting punished for what he did. He hasn't even come
out and said.

Speaker 14 (15:01):
Sorry to me.

Speaker 12 (15:02):
He did what one but he deserves a boot.

Speaker 15 (15:04):
He deserves it.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
When are they going to stop doing How many times
do you see his face and billing before it's enough?

Speaker 12 (15:10):
I think the victims of what happened are over it already.
Let him get out there and actually make it up
to the public.

Speaker 13 (15:15):
That's what I wanted to do.

Speaker 12 (15:16):
But what's really sad is all the footballers, all of
his friends, seem to think it's okay.

Speaker 10 (15:21):
I don't think it's okay at all. I just know
everyone makes mistakes. A lot of people get second chances,
and it's what they do with that second chance, to
me that matters. We had another massive confession.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
I cheated on my wife early in our marriage and
it resulted in a child who is now approximately twelve
years old. The person I cheated on my wife with
her and I agreed that the child would grow up
not knowing her father.

Speaker 13 (15:50):
I think I do at some stage want to try
to meet her.

Speaker 8 (15:56):
We got your hotele horror stories.

Speaker 12 (15:59):
My husband's a bit of a snoop.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Let's just say he found a pair of crumpty nickers.

Speaker 16 (16:05):
One of the worst would have been on the vanity,
a used condo.

Speaker 13 (16:10):
I'm making all of its juices.

Speaker 10 (16:14):
Brother and I had an idea for kids who loved
the game of rugby league. Rugby league it's it's a
fun game, especially under that thirteen year old age. I've
just noticed a trend Like kids, they just don't seem
to be enjoying it as much as I remember I
did when I was when I was younger at that.

Speaker 8 (16:31):
Age, and that's what we did.

Speaker 9 (16:32):
We have fun.

Speaker 8 (16:33):
We wanted to play with their friends.

Speaker 10 (16:34):
You know, I'd love to do something where I can
get a couple of teams together, North and South or
something like that.

Speaker 8 (16:39):
I just want kids that love the game.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
I just want to have it, have fun and just
and just have a crack Chris out at well It's points.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
I absolutely love the idea, Corey.

Speaker 13 (16:46):
I actually have a name already. Put it up, Dear
Cory's little league like it.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
That's it for your weekly.

Speaker 8 (16:55):
Have a great weekend and go to the Broncos against
the Bunnies. Rob and Kidd now the podcast.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Halfway through the podcast, this is a little bit we
didn't get to on the show today where we spoke
to my mum Sylvia and Robin pressure to find out
who her favorite child was.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Now still be out Because it's Mother's Day on Sunday,
you are allowed to answer this question honestly.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yes, here I am Who's your favorite child?

Speaker 13 (17:24):
Right now?

Speaker 14 (17:26):
I'm the mom who loves all three with all my heart. Absolutely,
that's the truth.

Speaker 9 (17:33):
They all have favorite things that I love about them, though.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Who has the most favorite things?

Speaker 13 (17:38):
Name? What about kick?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Tell the truth?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Mom, who's your favorite?

Speaker 8 (17:44):
Turns up?

Speaker 14 (17:44):
You know what I'm going to give Kippy that he
turns up. If I've got anything really really pressing that
I really needed him to be out, he turns up.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
I agree with that. He is absolutely reliable. But can
I put them in order for you? Lisa yet born Luke,
he's the baby, and then.

Speaker 8 (18:14):
Whose greatest quality being there showing up.

Speaker 14 (18:19):
I'm a middle child, so Kim and I have a
deep identification.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
That just means that you know, he'll understand that he's
not your favorite.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Understanding.

Speaker 17 (18:31):
That's what it is.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Funny hearing it back.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
You don't know it at all.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
I know it's true.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
I know that.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
The same.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
My dad's favorite is definitely Luke, the youngest, because Dad
was the youngest.

Speaker 10 (18:49):
You're definitely not Lukes, I reckon.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
I might pip Lisa with Dad. Hell, they're too similar.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
Shut up.

Speaker 8 (19:02):
But it's his daughter, ye put that in.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
It's up there.

Speaker 8 (19:07):
She's the reason he's bald.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Just dress the eldest daughter, eldest child and the daughter. Yeah,
Paul would be pulling his hair out a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
He wasn't ready for that, so he wasn't ready for them.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
So you're number two by default.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
I was going to say that, Yeah, it's the only
one it's the only one we're I'm on the padium.
Oh well, it's always my own Kids.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Kid Now with Correos the podcast with Robin, Kip and Coriotes.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
So this is where we take a moment.

Speaker 14 (19:50):
Film and.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Yes and the song are very appropriate for Mother's Day
on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yes, because we are doing Mama Mia Mama Miya is
a feel good aberans Bad musical set on a Greek
island where a young bride to be Sophie invites three
of her mother former lovers to her wedding in hopes
of discovering which one is her father. Sophie will be
played by me, but in the movie Amanda Seyfried.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Yes, here's the character.

Speaker 1 (20:21):

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Row and kids now cos the podcast, the scam is
handled Corey's Little.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Ly Corey's Little League.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
So Coreya has come up with an idea to bring
the fun back to rugby league, particularly for kids, because
he remembers it so fondly growing up up in the bush.
Where were you, Bill A Wheeler? Yeah, yeah, okay, yes,
and so you loved it and you want to bring
the fun back, and so you're putting together this Correy's
Little League. Whe We're going to get a couple of teams,
someone from the North, someone from the South.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Under thirteen girls included.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Yeah, and just have fun and have fun.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
Yeah okay. So you can register right now kiss ninety
seven three dot com dot au if you want to
be part of it. And you're thinking we'll play the
game at a place that is very close to you
at South Slogan Magpies.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
Is that right, Yes, at Davis Park.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Okay, so my South.

Speaker 10 (24:46):
Well, in your life and careers, you always have sort
of tough times and low moments, and for me that
was twenty twenty one. And to be honest, I was
just stuck in my own world and my own ways
and just didn't listen to people and wasn't asked for
help and I ended up getting dropped.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Because of it and what you were just in your
own head.

Speaker 10 (25:07):
Yeah, I just it's like I just didn't think I
was doing anything wrong, and you know, I wasn't realizing
that I wasn't doing all the same preparation and same
stuff that I was doing years before.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
And where the Bronx losing it.

Speaker 10 (25:22):
Yeah, we were playing really bad, and yeah I was
in the blame for everything, and I think all that's
just really caught up. And it wasn't until I got dropped.
I went back to Souse Souselger Magpies and I was done,
Like I was really I was ready to retire.

Speaker 8 (25:36):
Really, Yeah, I just I'd been through a lot.

Speaker 10 (25:39):
I was sick of the mental battle with rugby league
and a few other things in the background. Happened, and yeah,
I end up going back to Souse, and I really
thought my career was done. I was at that stage
where I was actually content with it.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
I really was, yeah, you having to say say farewell,
be done pretty much.

Speaker 8 (25:57):
And I went back there.

Speaker 10 (25:59):
The coach at the time, Steve Bretherdon, I remember after
the trials that I played with him, he had a
chat with me one on one. He said, mate, what
are you doing? He said, what are you actually here for?
I said, oh, just you know, I don't think I
can do it anymore like I used to. And he said,
but why, like, you know, what I bring isn't good
enough and and he said, well I think it is.

(26:21):
And he said, you know what you what you've built
your career on. He said, you do it so well
and so much better than other wingers do in this game.
Still now, he said, there's no reason why you can't
be back at that top level and one of the
best in the game. And and he said, I can
tell you right now, this team doesn't want you here,

(26:41):
he said out reason, he said, they want you here,
they love you, but they don't want you to be
wasting your career, you know, playing for a Q Cup team.
You're way better than that. And he said, like, stop
just going along with the ride, and and we want
to help you get back because I didn't want to
intrude in their game plan and world. I just wanted
to be a part of their team and and and

(27:04):
he said, so I want you to get back. He said,
that's our job is now. He said, we all sin
see it in you like it will happen. And he
said we want to help. And he and all, honestly,
eight rounds in I think it was seven seven games
are playing with them. It was a game against winter
Manly and if I'm honest, it was the best game

(27:25):
of footy I had played for sixteen months. And I
remember after the game, Steve and I met in the
middle of the field and we just both just went,
you're back.

Speaker 8 (27:36):
I sit on back and had a cuddle and we
both just got a motion. I'm just like what just happened?
And He's like, all this hard work it's paying off.

Speaker 10 (27:45):
And it's just because if I didn't have that conversation
with him, or if he didn't go out of his
own way and the team didn't didn't do all that
for me, I still got no idea where I'd be
And he really did save my career because people close
to me, they knew I was done.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Yeah, so oh, let's talk.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
To him, Let's get him up.

Speaker 9 (28:03):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Yeah, all right, we're going to come back because Thieve's
been listening to all that. Were going to come back
and chat with Steve right after this. I'm kiss ninety
seven three ro.

Speaker 8 (28:15):
Now with the podcast.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
Cory is literally.

Speaker 14 (28:28):
Breatha.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
You got to say, mate, I do kip, how are
you very good? So this is Steve brethaton.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
He is the CEO of South Logan Magpies, and Corey
was just telling us a story from twenty twenty one
when he got dropped down to Q Cup. Steve was
the coach of the team at the time and his career.

Speaker 16 (28:47):
Steve, Yeah, I think he saved his own career with
with the work that he did. It just needed a
little prolong, but very touching to hear those those words.
And I do remember the game we've nicknamed that corner corner.
He scored a try in the far corner from the
truck pan at winn them and actually it was the
first game they'd lost that year. They'd won ten in

(29:08):
a row.

Speaker 13 (29:08):
Or something like that time. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, you
did it yourself. Goud. That's all I'll say, mate.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Thanks, Yeah, Steve, tell me what you think about Corey
because clearly he sees you as someone that was you
know that really is fundamental to who he is as
a human being.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
But you must see also a really great guy, not
just a footy player.

Speaker 16 (29:34):
I think it stems from his upbringing. And everyone knows
that he's a bush kid, grew up in the bush
west of Rockhampton, and you know the way he was
brought up with some with some good ethics and and
done what he did in the game.

Speaker 13 (29:48):
You don't you don't lose any of that. Yes, you
go through some.

Speaker 16 (29:51):
Hard times and every now and again you lose your way,
but you don't ever lose what your ethics are in life.
And he's obviously got good runs and you don't do
what he's done in his life and is actually transitioning
well out of footing now and doing what he's doing
on the radio. And the willingness to help kids. You
see something with the kids and wants to get on

(30:12):
board and try and help that. You know, we get
players that come to our club all the time, through
affiliations and the career type stuff, and it's our job
to try and help them be the best that they
can be as well to try and help in this
part of his life.

Speaker 9 (30:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (30:28):
I said yes to it straight away and we can't
wait for it unreal.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Okay, so what do you think involved? Yes, so yeah,
what do we know so far as far as getting
this game together. We want to put on a little
exhibition game with some kids eleven twelve years old. So
you think we can do it around one of the
South's games.

Speaker 16 (30:44):
Yeah, And so obviously the story that he told they're
about playing at Winham and having that realization and that
was the game.

Speaker 13 (30:53):
I thought there was no better time to do it
than we got Winham at Davies on.

Speaker 16 (30:56):
The fifteenth of June, which is a Sunday. It's Old
Boys Day as well, both how women and men will.

Speaker 13 (31:04):
Be televised on KO. Yeah, so it'll be a big day.

Speaker 16 (31:09):
Bronco and things like that.

Speaker 13 (31:11):
So I don't know what they're going to go activation, So.

Speaker 16 (31:14):
Bronco will come and lot of people hanging around, so
it'll be a very big day for us here at
the club. And I thought no better chance and to
give those kids that that do sign up and experience
of playing before our first grade and then playing again
at halftime of our first grade Gameyeah good.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Yeah that's around Origin too. So there's no is there
no one a roll that weekend. So this will be
an absolutely massive games to be a pack stadium for
you guys.

Speaker 8 (31:40):
Yeah yeah, jeez, thanks mate, Thanks man, that's going to be.

Speaker 10 (31:45):
Yeah, that's a huge weekend. Like it's a half and
half round I think.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
Yeah, so okay around I believe by Oh cool.

Speaker 10 (31:53):
Okay, it's especially been a Sunday game Yeah in in
Brisbane on Yeah at two o'clock or two I think
they usually are those games, aren't they? Yep?

Speaker 16 (32:02):
Yeah, two ten, we'll be kid off, so the kids
play about one forty five. They'll play their first twenty
minutes and then we'll trow my a get at half
tne and.

Speaker 13 (32:11):
We'll get a few.

Speaker 16 (32:12):
We'll get a few of our anguys to mingle with
the kids and give him an experience of a lost time.

Speaker 8 (32:21):
Well he's got to be big of course, little league.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
You could save all of our careers.

Speaker 13 (32:30):
Just going through the room.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
That's awesome, real thanks thanks Steve.

Speaker 16 (32:37):
Not always a pleasure, I love what you're doing, mate,
and can't be more than happy to jump on board
with it and get it done, sir, moving forward to it,
Robie now.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Brook A Burgdell. Hey, Robert, Hi, Now Mother's Day? Are
you sordid?

Speaker 14 (32:58):
I have never been. I found out I was pregnant
with twins after my ex and I broke up. Shout
out to keV. He is the best co parent. But
I have never actually had a Mother's Day other than
by myself to stall goods from giving the kids some
money their first year of prep. The twins was last

(33:18):
year and I actually gave them twenty dollars each and
the other months were like what And I said, look,
I'd never get something.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
So you've had like six or seven years without a
proper Mother's Day?

Speaker 14 (33:31):
Yeah, no, I've never had a Mother's Day.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
Why doesn't he do something? Just doesn't think about it.

Speaker 14 (33:36):
He's actually taking the kids to his sister's house and
they're doing a Mother's Day thing there.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
But yeah, with his mum and stuff.

Speaker 4 (33:44):
Yeah yeah, Brook, that's really tough. So what are you
actually going to do on Sunday?

Speaker 14 (33:49):
Just open the kid's presence that they get me today
at the stall and then get them ready to go
to their death.

Speaker 5 (33:54):
Babe.

Speaker 8 (33:55):
That sucks.

Speaker 14 (33:57):
Yeah, well, it's all about the kids. Really, I'm waiting
for them to be adults. They'll appreciate me more than
I guess.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Yeah, I mean that is true.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
But that is a long time to wait.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Though, Yeah it is. I mean you don't seem too
upset by which.

Speaker 14 (34:12):
Is great because my kids are amazing. I've got twins,
I got a boy and a girl. You need to
try again.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Can we give you? Why don't we give you some
beautiful flowers?

Speaker 9 (34:24):
Nice?

Speaker 3 (34:25):
Yeah, we'll get a nice bouquet together flowers for everyone
and they'll Yes, We'll make sure that you've got something
from someone that.

Speaker 16 (34:31):
Isn't you.

Speaker 14 (34:33):
Remember when I got flowers.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Happy Mother's Day for Sunday?

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Mate, you flowers for everyone dot com dot a you
delivering big love and beautiful blooms to mum this Mother's
Day now coming up. Corey's got something he's passionate about.

Speaker 5 (34:49):
This passionate.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Okay, stuff was going on as we were planning the show,
and these two you're not thinking that it would ever
come back and bite them. I saying the most appalling thing.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
It's a question, it's a valid questions to Mother's Day.

Speaker 8 (35:05):
Sure, and I feel like we're outnumbered here.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
I'm sorry. There's two of you in one of me.

Speaker 13 (35:11):
Everyone else.

Speaker 8 (35:13):

have the rest of this.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
