A Month of Grace - Day 22 - Give Yourself Forgiveness

Welcome to day 22 of Journeying Through a Month of Grace.

Today we give ourselves forgiveness. This is a big one. I personally feel that forgiveness is strongly intertwined with the individual grieving process. It first starts with acceptance, as it moves through all different stages, witnessing every step. During this process it's crucial to have compassion with ourselves and with others. We cannot force forgiveness. But we can accept. Forgiveness happens when we are ready let go.

I found the following quote by Khaled Hosseini absolutely fitting.

“I wondered if that was how forgiveness budded; not with the fanfare of epiphany, but with pain gathering its things, packing up, and slipping away unannounced in the middle of the night.”

It's so much easier to forgive others than to forgive ourselves. We gotta practice compassion and being gentle with ourselves.

 So, today give yourself forgiveness.

As we're Wrapping Up 2022 (listen to episode #167) many of us find ourselves in a lot of fast-paced pressure. We have so many things we wanna wrap up, finish and complete before we enter the year of 2023, that we tend to forget to really tune in and slow down. This is the season to slow down. I myself need this reminder so I thought I take you on this journey with me.
