Giving you a slightly different flavor today on Melanated Rising. In honor of National Novel Writing Month I invited one of my oldest and closest friends (and writing buddy), Tranette Latrice Williams, on the show to talk about story, writing, challenging yourself, and broadening the scope of Black storytelling. Full of fun banter, laughter, and tales of old, listen in on two Black women writers working to decolonize our minds and our writing.
Side note: Apparently we’re two old biddies who can’t remember years because we actually did NaNoWriMo for the first time in 2009 not 2012 (but 2012 was an epic year for finishing as you’ll hear).
