(00:01):
Mike Dell's world number 3 86 for,
what is it already today? It's the 10th of May,
2023. So, uh,
let's see what's been going on in myworld here today. And, uh, by the way,
I gotta replay of, uh,

(00:22):
episode from October, 2008 and,
uh, I know I was fiddlingaround and thought I would, uh,
throw that in here afterI talked for a little bit.
Cause I don't really have a huge update.I'm still doing the carnivore thing,
although I dropped the extra podcast,
so you're just gonna have to put upwith a little bit of it here, .

(00:45):
But that suffices to say myblood sugar is down to, uh,
near normal. And, uh,
I'm off of a lot of the drugs that I, uh,
was taking for diabetes, which, uh,
now I'm down to just two instead of five.
I know crazy. I'm off myblood pressure meds. Uh,

(01:10):
I'm down 30 pounds. Istill got about seven,
eight more pounds to getto my goal weight of 1 99.
Uh, but I've gone down, uh,
two full inches in pants size andprobably more than that. But, uh,
you know, I, it's definitely, youknow, not quite to the six pack,

(01:32):
more like the pony kegthing going on. But, uh,
that's going really good.So we're just gonna call it that.
I won't bore you withthe rest of the details.
We're still working on homeimprovement projects here. Got, uh,
got, uh, let's see, the bathroom, got the shower done and, uh,

(01:53):
got the walls repainted and,uh, doing the floors, uh,
next couple of days. So that'llall be shiny new pic and span.
So looking forward to that. Also, uh,
they picked up a new to me ham radio,
but it's an old tube type ham radio, uh,

(02:15):
Swan 700 s, which, uh, is tube type.
And, uh,
the old school makes the roomsmell funny cuz of the old tubes,
and it's a lot of fun. So I'vebeen really enjoying that.
Get on and rag chew in the evenings oncein a while with a bunch of guys around,
around the Great Lakeshere. And, and, uh, yeah,

(02:37):
it's just fun to have the old glowin the dark radio instead of, uh,
the new fancy one. So I still gotthe new fancy ones too, so .
But, uh, that's really what'sgoing on here. I like said,
don't have a lot to talk aboutjust yet. Lots going on at work.
If you want to hear about, uh,what's going on at blueberry and, uh,

(02:58):
other podcasting related stuff,go check out podcast insider.com.
I'm on there two tothree times a month, uh,
with other hosts, uh, coupletimes a month, so, uh,
you know, but I, I'm the producer,so whatever they talk about, I, uh,
I was there . So anyway,

(03:22):
without further ado, I'm gonna play,
this is from October, 2008.
I'm a little confused about whatactual episode number it is,
but I guess that doesn't matter. But, uh,
it's when I interviewedBobby Yang in the studio,
W N M C a 90.7 FM in Traverse City.

(03:44):
Anyway, uh, , I haven't done aradio show in a long time over there, but,
uh, I guess I could goback at some point. But,
uh, this one was, it was pretty cool. I,
I got a couple of live recordingsfrom the studio there of Bobby and his
group and, uh, I don't know, I wasjamming to it earlier today and I thought,

(04:05):
you know what, I wannaput that out for you guys.
So I'm gonna play the entireepisode. I don't know what the, uh,
episode number is. And please,
please be nice to me about the audioquality cuz it's not nearly as good as it
is these days. So, without further ado,
here's me. Oh yeah, 15 years ago,

(04:27):
something like that. crazy.
Yeah, good morning, good evening, whatever the case may be.
This isn't an officialMike Dell's world podcast,
but I did wanna share something withyou. Uh, today at the radio station,
we had a live band in, have youever heard of him? Uh, Bobby Yang.

(04:51):
And, uh,
it's been making a swing through NorthernMichigan and stopped in at the radio
station. And, uh, I played, uh,
a couple of songs and I got recordingsof them and I got permission to put them
on my podcast. So, uh, in caseyou don't know who Bobby Yang is,
he's a, uh, a very goodviolinist and he, uh,

(05:15):
plays, uh, classic rock songs and, uh,
and sort of jam band songsand along with his group,
the, uh, I forget what under something,I don't have it in front of me.
But, uh, anyway, we go to bobbyyang.com and you read all about him.

(05:36):
You can pick up a cd. But anyway, first one, uh, I wanna play his, uh,
his version. And this was recorded live,uh, three feet from me. We had, uh,
Bobby on the violin, and,uh, another guy in a guitar,
and then the third guy on a bass. They didn't have their drummer, uh,
but don't need no . Itwas pretty good. So anyway,

(06:00):
here's a old David Bowie song, uh,
done by Bobby Yang and his group.

(10:53):
Excellent . Thank you guys. Yeah,
you guys are playing all my favoritestuff, , but I didn't know it.
Anyway. I'm sure the, uh,
studio recording there sounds a littledifferent than my voice does now.
, oh, well, theygot better equipment. Uh,
anyway, like I said, that was BobbyYang playing Space Oddity from, uh,

(11:19):
today at, uh, W N M C during the FolkAir Show. If you wanna listen live,
you can, uh, listen over@wmc.org. Uh,
I got some pretty coolmusic on all the time.
Mostly jazz during the week inthe mornings and afternoons and
evenings. Could be anythingfrom blues to folk to rock to,

(11:40):
uh, I mean, you just nameit the different genres,
the whole schedules overthere at W N M C. So anyway,
I wanna make this a big promo for that. But, uh, pretty, pretty happy with the,
uh, thing today. Uh, the, therecording there, uh, like I said,
that wasn't recorded off air, thatwas recorded in the studio with, uh,

(12:02):
me trying to set it up and,uh, with, with the help of, uh,
our station manager, Eric. And, uh,
I think we did a pretty good jobconsidering, uh, considering, uh,
the setup there. And, uh, like Isaid, if you wanna hear the full,
uh, studio recordings, uh, uh,

(12:23):
Bobby's got a couple of CDsout, uh, one's called uh,
uh, the Red CD or something likethat. And, uh, I don't know,
go over to bobby yang.comtell you all about it. That's,
that's probably the best bet. Thatway I don't get things messed up.
And I don't know if my audio is prettylow, but, uh, oh, well, I guess I can,

(12:47):
uh, fix it and post edit post edit. Yeah.
Anyway, I'm gonna leave youwith one more Bobby Yang song.
Recorded three feet from me today at, uh,
W N M C. And this is, uh,
Bobby's version of Cashmere.Uh, yeah, the old, uh,

(13:08):
led Zeppelin tune. So . Anyway,
check it out and, uh, we'll be backwith, with an official show here, uh,
real soon.

(17:51):
Okay, well, everybody havea good one. Uh, like I said,
I just thought I would sharethat, uh, with you. Uh,
it's probably not everybody'skind of music, but, uh,
I thought it was prettycool. So catch me later.
