Astrid van Nimwegen is filmmaker en beeldend kunstenaar. Ze regisseerde onder meer de korte films ‘A Vertical Slice of Landscape’ en ‘Barren Land’, en werkte mee aan de museale installatie ‘VR Watersnoodramp 1953’. Ze groeide nomadisch op, kreeg thuisonderwijs en woont nu in een zelfverbouwde vrachtwagen. In haar nieuwe film 'A Few Mornings, an Evening’ schetst ze met geduld en precisie de interacties tussen mens en dier op een kleine boerderij op het Tsjechische platteland.
