Sophie Straat is zangeres. In haar muziek combineert ze het levenslied met protestliederen. Ze bezingt sociaal maatschappelijke problemen als seksisme, racisme, ongelijkheid en machtsmisbruik. Ze maakte in 2021 met Goldband het nummer ‘Tweede Kamer’, waarin ze oproept om bij de verkiezingen op een vrouw te stemmen en bracht albums uit als ’T is niet Mijn Schuld’ en ‘Smartlap is Niet Dood’. Op 7 juni organiseert ze voor de tweede keer het Protestfest in Paradiso, een festival gericht op protest in alle mogelijke kunstvormen.
