Episode Notes:

  1. Touch it once - only when you are ready to deal with it.
    • if needed tilt the phone and read further to decide but touch only when ready to act upon it.
  2. Schedule WhatsApp time in your daily planner/agenda and use it ONLY then.
    • Allow your messages to stack!
    • Silent all notifications, sounds except for WhatsApp calls.
    • No to WhatsApp first thing in the morning, the last thing in the night, seeing stories during lunch and check in every 3rd minute.
  3. Organize to make Whatapp work for you.
    • Name saving tip - Add things you can recall. Like:
      1. W1- Shree Balaji - Xprof Pes, Made Cement clock, Met at Sheraton night market.
      2. W2- Priyanka Ref: Ankit's Aunt that makes yum chocolate stuff
      3. W3 - Curious cat Rishabh - Mandya Sangh
      4. Broadcast list Prefix - W1, W2, W3
    • Use label feature - A, B, C, D, Followup. - Create more and experiment based on your business.
      1. Go to the most important labels FIRST during the scheduled time. NOT the recent messages stacked on top.
    • Exit toxic, distracting, directionless groups - will it hurt to exit this group? almost always the answer is NO. so, let go and exit.
    • Archive random forwards, unimportant messages or anything that isn’t relevant to you.
    • block persistent broadcasters.
  4. Communication chain for productivity - Text > audio note > Call > Physical meet
    • For smarter texting: Anticipate a person's questions/ concerns/ objections and address them in a single message.
    • Reinforce your systems using forward slash shortcuts. Here's a sample to ensure every call I get has a clear agenda:
      1. /agenda1 That sounds doable. So I can best prepare for our interaction, can you send me a note with an agenda? That is, the topics and questions we’ll need to address? That would be great. Thanks in advance.
      2. /agenda2 To make the best use of everyone’s time I like to have a well-defined agenda with objectives for a call before jumping on the phone. Can you please send over some bullet points with what you’d like to cover and decide on the call? Thanks in advance.
  5. Marketing to your HOT market: Use the status feature strategically and consistently to become a part of your hot market's routine.
    • Create a separate status for links and use a green background (converts better)
    • Limit statuses of your products to 5. followed by a link to your catalogue on WB.
    • Ask for support (even to test your network's willingness to help)
  6. Few more hacks:
    • Back up all devices to another system on the first of every month.
    • Build a catalogue slowly and consistently of any service or product you provide.
    • Turn off the auto-download of photos and videos.

P.S.: Galata's new website is on its way.
