(00:00):
Your ability to persuade others is one of the most powerful resources you will ever discover.
During this eye-opening podcast, you'll join Wayne Sutton as you uncover the
secrets of influence based upon science and proven in the real world.
Hey, Wayne Sutton here. Thanks for jumping on another episode.
(00:21):
And today we're going to jump into a couple of areas of bringing confidence into your life.
Confidence is contagious. contagious.
Confidence is something when you're confident, when you have authority,
people recognize that and it builds trust. It builds compliance.
And again, that's something that people say you can't fake it.
(00:42):
Well, you can definitely like fake it until you make it.
And what I mean by that is you can start implementing strategies that will build confidence.
And again, confidence comes from a lot of different areas.
Authority is what we're looking for. So when people see you,
they talk to you, they follow you, and they purchase from you if you're in sales.
(01:02):
They follow you if you're a leader. They vote for you if you're a politician.
So we're going to talk about authority. Today, I want to jump into one thing I've taught before.
Having self-discipline enables you to be more outgoing and less concerned about
things you haven't done because you know the things that you have done,
the discipline that is there. So we're working internally.
(01:26):
We're working internally to further build external, working internally to build external.
So let's jump in and I'm going to give you a couple of thoughts on this.
So now, first things first, I want to really jump into when you're making a change.
So many people, they purchase a book, they hire a coach, they go to seminars,
(01:54):
pick up mentors, whatever, ever, because they're looking to change.
But here's the key. Here's the key.
Your conscious mind grabs a hold of the information, but your unconscious mind
says, no, this isn't who I am.
And it becomes an identity, identity, I guess you would say, chaos.
You're trying to change identity. Self-discipline. If you're going to discipline
(02:18):
yourself, okay, so that you have more more confidence.
If you're going to discipline yourself so you walk with more confidence.
Okay, then you need to let the brain know, you need to let your unconscious
know, this is the time of change.
So how do we do this? How do we do it? Number one is environment.
You know, it's all we're going to talk about today. We're going to talk about
just your environment, your ability to shift your environment, your willingness,
(02:43):
your discipline to shift the environment, lets your reticular activating system,
that magical part of the brain, recognize change is happening.
And when it realizes change is happening, it accepts change and it begins to
look for ways to make change easier and more productive.
So recently, totally.
(03:06):
I say totally, massively, but not totally, changed my office.
Now, this is an audio podcast, so you can't see it.
But green screen, new monitor, new lighting system, same camera,
but some changes there too.
On software, I moved it because, number one, I want to be able to record more video.
(03:27):
But number two, I was just telling the brain it's time for something new.
I brought on new clients. I'm helping people in a different area now.
Now it's time to let the brain, the unconscious know we're changing.
So there's no resistance there.
Also, we bought a new vehicle. Well, I've wanted one, needed one,
(03:48):
bought it. It's change. Okay.
I've even bought a new wardrobe. I bought new clothes. I'm like,
hey, this is something I want to do. I'm changing. What do we change?
So you can, the simple things. You can change your wall art.
You can change the wallpaper on your phone.
Join a new meetup group. Start a meetup group. I started a group.
(04:12):
If you're not there, just follow me on Facebook. We started a new meetup group
on Facebook. We're doing some new things on LinkedIn.
I'm literally saying, okay, this is new. We've released not only one book in January, but two.
And we have one we were hoping to have finished this week, but we should have
finished by next week for February. wear.
So new books, new content, new information, new visuals, new clothes.
(04:38):
I'm not shaving the beard, so no appearance changes.
But these things that are done new, and the reason I'm sharing with you what
I'm doing is because it's literally priming and resetting my particular activating
system to go, this is new. New things are coming.
New income sources are coming.
(04:58):
New schedules of of my time or coming.
So I'm allowing the unconscious to be aware of it. Now, what does this do for me?
By shifting the environment and having things set up, it's easy for me to change
habits, exercise, daily content, consumption, new material, masterminding with other people.
(05:25):
Okay, so all of this culminates into helping me be more self-disciplined.
And in that discipline, this is very important, having more of an outgoing and
less concerned outlook about the things I haven't done because I know what I have done.
What I have accomplished and what I'm going to accomplish, I've already set
(05:48):
in place. I've set the ball in motion.
What about you? What about you? I shared a lot of stuff I'm doing personally.
There's even more, but like, what are you doing? What can you do?
And here's the question for this podcast.
If you want to truly influence yourself, influence others and impact the world,
you have to start with your personal habits, personal habits and discipline.
(06:12):
So what are you trying to do? So I'm going to give you a couple of things.
As I said, do you have to go buy a different car?
No, but you can rearrange your furniture. You can paint maybe the walls of your
office or your home, change the art that's up.
You can change the wallpaper on your phone, which I do quite often.
(06:35):
Join a meetup group. Join a meetup group where you're literally getting outside
of your environment, driving somewhere and meeting people. Doesn't even have to be business related.
There's a lot of good business ones I'd recommend.
But join a meetup group. So now this is really what I want to focus on today.
Tomorrow, we're going to go another, or the next podcast could be tomorrow,
(06:58):
could be a week from now, getting disciplined in that too.
But I give myself grace and freedom in that.
Understand there's areas you must be absolute disciplined in these areas to give yourself grace.
But next we're going to talk about how to future project your goals.
So the changes that are taking in place, have something to move towards.
(07:20):
This is back to influencing yourself. We influence ourselves before we influence others.

in your environment that that you can change.

Remember, you can influence yourself, influence others, and you can truly impact
the world. Make it a great day and God bless.
