In 2014 Whitney was working as an HR manager for a company in Washington, DC, feeling a total lack of passion and excitement. She describes this experience as losing her spark and deciding to go on a quest to find out what lit her up. In doing this inner work, she rediscovered her inner girl, who loved food, health, well-being, and playing with food. She realized she wanted to attend culinary school and follow her passion for healthy food and cooking. After being let go from her position in HR, which she later saw as a blessing in disguise, Whitney enrolled in the Natural Gourmet Kitchen culinary program in New York City and changed up her entire routine and life by starting from scratch. With a blowup mattress, a few suitcases, and her books, Whitney headed for the Big Apple and immersed herself in culinary school and all things healing and health related to the culinary world.
In starting from scratch to build her new life and business, Whitney shared the wisdom that building something viable and truly serving your niche takes time. After culinary school, Whitney had a fantastic job in New York, working for a well-known restaurant group, learning and enhancing her skills in various areas. Again, she found herself at another fork in the road when her father invited her to return to Southern California, rent-free, and try her own business. Chef Whitney decided to take the opportunity and learned another important lesson; it’s ok to change and start new again. From this place of starting, she has built Starseed Kitchen, a successful organic spice blend company, a personal chef business, and a thriving show called The High Vibe Living podcast.

Our spiritual and inner growth need to allow for greater flow, change, and ease. She is learning now that it’s time again to shift her energy and focus and spend more time on her self-care and reassess how she’s working and serving others. This is a great reminder for us all to be open to the ebb and flow of life and natural shifts of innate growth and change. The important thing is to trust when it’s time to change the recipe, and just like you might head into a kitchen with a variety of ingredients, let yourself play with what feels right and see what your soul comes up with. You never know what this
