Animal Guidance Series: Gorilla Medicine

Gorillas are one of the strongest animals in the world who can teach us about power, strength, determination, stability, intelligence and family values. They have gentle, humble energy with a quiet dignity that speaks volumes. This natural leader is not aggressive, not overpowering, and not noisy. While the gorilla’s size and stature make them seem dangerous, they are not aggressive. They are social, peaceful creatures with excellent communication skills. Scientists have identified at least 25 different vocalizations that they use to express themselves and even resolve conflict rather than fighting. Gorillas work well in groups called troops. It is a collective society where they honor their elders and cooperatively bring up the children. Infant gorillas depend on their mother for survival and aren't weaned until they are six years old. Then Dad of course takes over as they share parenting. A gorilla's gene sequence only differs from the human sequence by 1%. They have been seen using tools, laughing, crying, loving and grieving. Unlike humans, they do not hide how they feel. Gorilla spirit is humble, intelligent, nurturing, loyal, compassionate, respectful, keen minded, and has wise leadership as well as a team player. They are respected for their divine male energy in many cultures around the world.
