Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys, ryan DeMint , hope you guys are having a
great day.
Today on the podcast, I want totalk about getting through the
challenges of life, whichtranslates to entrepreneurship
and business, and what I'mtrying to get to you guys this
week is short, sweet and to thepoint.
Our mindset and how we viewourselves is critical for us to

(00:26):
succeed in business.
If we're constantly havinganxiety, negative thoughts and
not being able to effectivelyfocus on revenue generating
tasks, how are we supposed toget ahead in life?
How is our business supposed totake off and scale?

(00:46):
How are we supposed to makemoney?
We don't, and I can only tellyou this from experience because
I've been struggling with itfor many, many months, and I can
tell you, the one thing that Ihave to do on a daily basis is I
write down the tasks that Ineed to do daily to one, keep me

(01:08):
focused.
Two, to make sure that I'mgoing after revenue generating
steps or actions.
And three, making sure I amhyper-focused on the to-do in
front of me, not looking back, not looking forward, looking
straight at in front of me,because in the end, that's all

(01:31):
we have and if I continue tolook all these directions,
nothing will happen.
I'll continually be in thiscycle to where I will stay flat.
So, guys, if you're flat rightnow in your business, you need
to make sure that you're focusedon revenue generating tasks,

(01:55):
and the only way to do that andI'm struggling through it, but
I'm getting better is timeblocking.
I'm using two to three hoursevery single day just to focus
on my revenue generating steps.
The other aspect that I'mworking on and it's not quite
there yet is I'm going to startusing AI to make outbound cold

(02:15):
calls.
I don't particularly like them.
I do okay with them, but Ithink I could be doing more
productive items than makingcold calls.
I'm a good closer.
I'm passionate about thebusiness.
I want to make sure that I'mdoing what I possibly can to
close deals but also push thecompany over the top, so I've

(02:39):
been working on developing an AIbot.
I'm also talking to a coldcaller that's going to do
between 10 and 15 hours a weekin cold calls.
I'm going to measure the twoand I'm going to see how well
they do.
Do I use a combination of both?
Yes, the other piece that I'mworking on and again, it's time
consuming, but I have to do itat night or during my
non-productive hours in themorning is automation.

(03:03):
Everybody talks about it, butcan you actually deliver it?
And one of the things that hasbecome my best friend over the
last several months is Fiverr.
Fiverr is a great place to beable to find individuals that
have the skill set you'relooking for to get a job done.
And by no means, guys, I'm notpushing Fiverr on you.
I don't have a connectionthere's no paid media with this

(03:25):
whatsoever.
It's just works very well forme.
I've had some really greatpeople and I've had some not so
great people, but Fiverr alwaysprotects your purchase and it
does work well.
So, guys, along with Fiverr, oneof the things that I'm really
pushing myself on is timemanagement.

(03:47):
The time blocking works great, but the time management has to
come into play, because I havean issue, and I'm going to admit
to it is I have FOMO, fear ofmissing out.
So when I am time blocking inthe morning making my phone
calls, I have my phone on.
Do not disturb.
And when I first started doingthat, when I should back up,

(04:12):
when I first started doing timeblocking, my phone was not on.
Do not disturb.
And guess what happened.
Every time I got a text or acall, I would stop to see who it
was and then make a decision, continue to stop and look at my
phone and try to figure out do Ianswer it or not.
But the challenge there was Iwas afraid if they called and I

(04:36):
didn't pick up I would lose thedeal.
Mindset shift.
Here we go.
It's an abundance piece If theycontinue to call or they're
calling they want to do businesswith me.
The thing that I've started andI have not finished because I
need to update it is myvoicemail greeting.
Set an expectation for yourclients for when you're going to

(04:59):
call them back.
I have not done that yet.
I do talk to people, I do tellthem, but I don't think they
remember.
So one of the things that I'mgoing to do this week is I'm
going to update my voicemailrecording and let them know that
I return phone calls in theafternoon.
If someone texts me while I'mon, do Not Disturb.

(05:19):
I think I can do an automessage on my Apple excuse me on
my iPhone and be able to tellthem that hey, I'm busy right
now.
I'll get back to you.
Heading those expectations alsoalleviates anxiety for me,
because I am anxious to get backto you.
Heading those expectations alsoalleviates anxiety for me,
because I am anxious to get backto them and understand where
they're at, and that is aproblem because then it takes me

(05:40):
away from my revenue generatingtasks.
The other thing, and last butnot least, that I'm focused on
is being present for my VA, andI'm soon to bringing on a second
VA.
If they have questions and I'mnot available for them, and if
it's during my first three hoursof the day they already know
this they know that I'm timeblocking.

(06:01):
I'm busy then, but if at anyother time I'm available, I
should answer very quickly.
Sometimes I get distractedbecause I've got the FOMO going
on with phone calls and textmessages that I'm trying to get
back in the groove on and getback to people, and then I get
back to them.
They need to be my top prioritybecause they're doing work that

(06:24):
I do not like doing and I'm notgood at.
They're handling my socialmedia, they're doing my videos,
they're doing the editing, they're doing the podcast stuff.
They're doing everything thatis critical for the business to
scale but does not physicallygenerate revenue right out of
the start.
And lastly, guys, the only way Iknow how to say this is you

(06:47):
have to take that step forwardto the unknown and just go after
it, because, in the end, ifyou're not focused in on these
revenue generating tasks, you'renot going to win in life and in
business.
And I'm going to back up anddigress to one thing Whether
you're religious, spiritual, believe in God, the universe,

(07:09):
whatever, one of the things thatyou have to do every single day
is have a quiet mind when youget up.
Whether you read a Bible, devotional, you actually have
some type of journal, whateverthat is, you need to find that
happy, quiet place to start yourday, for that mindset, and that
mindset has to be positive andfull of abundance.

(07:29):
Otherwise you're not going toget the job done for the day,
for the week, for the month, forthe quarter, for the year, and
that will not allow you to scale.
Guys, I hope you have a greatone.
I'll see you guys on the otherside.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
