I wanted to do something funand different for this week's
(00:27):
episode, so thank you for tuningin.
I hope this is going to be areally rewarding episode for you
.
If you are brand new, this isgoing to be the perfect episode
for you to get a little taste ofwhat this podcast is all about.
I looked through the top, listened to episodes and I
picked five of our most listenedto episodes and they are all
over the place in differentcategories and different topics,
(00:49):
but they were some of the mostpowerful episodes, obviously
because of the number ofdownloads, but also some of my
personal favorites as well.
I went through these episodesand pulled some of the most
powerful parts from each episodeand I am going to include them
here all in this one episode forthis special edition of the
most listened to episodes.
This first clip is from thesleep your way to better skin
(01:12):
episode.
This is episode 64.
Your skin is literallyrepairing itself while you sleep
.
I think that's the biggestthing.
So don't skimp on rest if youwant that natural glow.
Not only are you going to havethat natural glow, but you're
also going to feel so muchbetter and you're going to bring
that confidence into so manyother areas of your life.
So just try one of these tips.
I gave eight tips.
(01:32):
That's a lot of things that wecan do, but just try one thing.
Whether it's ditching thescreens before bed, setting a
bedtime routine, finally gettingthose blackout curtains, your
skin will love you for it.
So just pick one and try it.
This second clip is aninterview episode that I did.
It's episode 57 and it was partof my mother's in business
series.
This is the episode with CassImlay.
(01:54):
She is the owner of NothingBunt Cakes.
The episode is called SweetSuccess with Cake Shop Owner
Cass Imlay.
Wow, that is a mouthful.
It's a tongue twister, but itis episode 57.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I had to decide first
off that failing was just not
an option.
It wasn't just my head on thechopping block, it was my whole
family's.
If I didn't succeed, the bakerycould not grow.
So I had to first decide itdidn't matter if I wasn wasn't
good.
I had to figure out how to begood.
And then I also had to acceptthe fact that I wasn't good and
(02:31):
that it would be a process, butthat I had to be willing to
learn through that process toget better.
And I did.
It was a slow process and itwas a very tiring process and I
was exhausted all the time, butI think I've I wouldn't say
perfected the craft, becausethere's many other nothing bundt
(02:51):
cakes bakers that can do a lotmore than me, a lot faster, but
I I know my craft and I'm goodat it and I feel confident in it
.
Now.
Don't let your fear stop you.
That's the biggest thing foreverything.
It's like even going to the gymor just trying a new skill.
(03:14):
The fear of not being good atit can stop us from doing it.
But duh, you're not good at it,you've never done it.
Yeah, and so for me, that waswhat I had to overcome.
I wasn't good at baking, it'sokay Like I wasn't.
Everybody knew I wasn't good atit.
Everybody knew it was going totake time for me to figure it
(03:36):
out.
And if I hadn't pushed throughthat fear and even vulnerability
like being not good atsomething is very vulnerable and
it's scary.
So pushing through that tolearn, I wouldn't be where I am
today.
If I hadn't done that with manythings, with even my physical
health, my mental health and myspiritual health, I wouldn't be
(03:58):
there if I hadn't pushed throughthe hard, fear and the scary
things to be where I am today.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
This next clip is
from episode 28.
It's actually one of mypersonal favorite interviews
that I have ever done.
I titled this episode havingconfidence finding your way
through grief, and it was withmy dear friend, bobby Ashworth.
Bobby is a widow and she talksabout her grief that she went
through as she was dealing withthe loss of her husband and also
(04:27):
helping her children throughthe grief.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
I'll always love Adam
.
He'll always be a part of ourlife, even though he's not there
during the weddings and duringthe babies and during the
graduations and during all thosebig milestones.
He'll still be there and willstill grieve.
But what happens is that youlearn to move forward and to
(04:52):
grow around that grief and itand it feels lighter because
you're growing with it.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
You're the grief is
is coming with you yeah, you're
not going to leave the griefbehind, like you don't leave.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, you just build
upon that grief.
You know it becomes a part ofyou, and so, as you move forward
in your life, you just it growsaround you, yeah, yeah, and so
you, just, you just learn how tocarry it better.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
You just learn how to
deal with those emotions better
.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
The next clip is from
another series that I did.
This one was a confident birthseries and this one is episode
39.
And it's the planned C-sectionwith Amy Bowler.
I actually interviewed Amy fortwo different episodes in this
confident birth series.
One was with an unexpectedC-section and then the other was
with a planned C-section, andthis planned C-section is one of
(05:53):
the most listened to episodes.
So if you could give someadvice for a mom who knows that
she's going to have a C-sectionand maybe she hasn't had one, or
she's like you and had anunplanned emergency one that
maybe didn't go- so well whatwould be your advice to be
confident in that?
Speaker 4 (06:09):
I would say confident
and ask questions.
I wish that I would have askedmore questions to the
anesthesiologist about theepidural and like what to expect
it to feel like before evengetting into the operating room.
Before even getting into theoperating room, because he he
(06:34):
more talked about like these arethe risks, but he never talked
about okay, this is what you'regoing to feel.
Until I got on the operatingtable, I think I probably
wouldn't have been as nervouswhich maybe I would have, who
knows but I wouldn't have beenas nervous if I would have
thought like, okay, what can Iexpect?
Speaker 1 (06:57):
And the fifth and
final one is episode number one
is one of the top listen toepisodes and it's called Stay
Confidently Beautiful, otherwiseknown as Pivotal Moments, and
this was the intro and thekickoff to this whole podcast,
and I hope that you enjoyed thislittle clip.
I really, really truly believethat we all have confidence
(07:18):
inside us.
We just need to bring it out,and there's pivotal moments in
our life.
There's pivotal moments thatyou can either take that moment
and pivot and remember theconfidence that's already in you
, or you cannot.
But I hope that you will takethe moment to pivot and remember
the confidence is inside youalready, because we all have it
(07:43):
and we just need a littlereminder and sometimes a little
push to be the confident personthat we are meant to be and that
we already are.
Wasn't that so good?
I love going back and listeningto the top moments in the
podcast and some of my personalfavorite moments that have been
on this podcast.
