Marko has come in annoyed with Cricket Australia's marketing team because he was not aware of the recent New Zealand tour. He reckons Cricket Australia should spend less on playing cricket, and more on advertising it. Seems strange, but that's Marko's view. Ox agrees, and he reckons Pay TV is the problem. Consensus from Ox and Marko is that there is too much cricket at the moment. Ox feels that Cricket Australia need a new jingle, it has been too long since this classic jingle.

Whilst on sport, we chat about the NRL season just starting, and the AFL season a day away. Ox discusses the challenges with the Melbourne Demons and his view is that some of the problems go back to the Dees not doing a deal with former boss Glenn Bartlett. Ox reckons the Dees issues will get worse before they get better.

Marko has a Civil Selfishness to report, in addition to Cricket Australia, and it's to do with his local council. Specifically the council street-sweepers. Feels more like a first world problem but who are we to judge. Ox raises a first world problem of his own. He is renovating a place at the moment with some mates, and he is having problems with the skip on the street. Ox has come up with a genius solution to stop the skip-abuse.

We discuss normal bins and if you can 'use' your neighbours bins, and what the rules are. Love your thoughts on socials.

Ox has got a business idea that he is very excited about. Not trademarked yet, so keep it on the downlow. It is an idea for lonely people, and is designed to enable meeting people. Which reminds us to call Darren the Banker who has a business idea, but needs Ox's help with a slogan. Does Ox deliver? You know he does.

Back onto the footy, with the AFL season a day away, we have a chat about the season and get Ox and Marko's tips on who they reckon will win, and why. Ox is not tipping his Demons, and Marko is not tipping his Pies - find out who they're tipping and why. Whilst we're yakking footy, the SMS alert goes off, and we have a voicemail that has come through. Which dovetails into preconceptions about names, and people who you would not have a beer with based on their name alone. If we have disparaged your name on the pod, we apologise!

Plenty of feedback today, including a Civil Selfishness submission from Mick Anderson. It's a ripper. And a massive whack, perhaps a little undeserved, for a member of the team from a Couple of Blokes family member. Also, the results of our recent poll on whether you buy Mako's ridiculous view that the cop who pulled him over recently was flirting with him.

As always, we're here thanks to Paul & Kurt at the E&S Trading Clearance Centre in Clayton, Melbourne on Dandenong Road - right opposite Ikea. After an incredible deal on amazing gear? You won't believe the prices....absolute rippers!

We'd love you to follow a Couple of Blokes, and get involved with the show on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. If you've got a comment or feedback, feel free to send a voicemail to Ox and Marko here. And don't forget to subscribe, rate and review the podcast wherever you listen!
