In the first segment, Dr. Bloom and Ms. Yanosy will focus on the importance of an attitude of reverence when it comes to the provision of both physical and mental health care and how vital it is that caregivers are enabled to restore for themselves that sense of reverence when they are so often being stressed by a demand for more profitability. In the second segment, two people who are shaping trauma-informed healthcare, mental health care and addiction services in Oregon will share their own perspectives on what has happened and what needs to change. Dr. Maggie Bennington-Davis is the Chief Medical Director for Health Share, Portland, Oregon and the co-author with Tim Murphy, CEO of Bridgeway Recovery Services in Salem, Oregon. Together they authored the book, Restraint and Seclusion: The Model for Eliminating Their Use in Healthcare. The third segment will focus on a young and innovative company, Charlie Health, that is providing online intensive outpatient mental health services to children and families in states across the country, reaching populations with limited local access to care. Dr. Caroline Fenkel, one of the founders of the company and Dr. Eli Muhrer, the Medical Director for Charlie Health, will share their own discoveries about the barriers to service delivery and their work and vision to overcome those barriers.
